THE RETURN of THE WHATLEYS MAY 21-30. Our trip is done, now time for the TR :(

Your post about your Mom made me teary as well Dana. Many many many hugs to you. I know this must be terribly difficult. I think you are doing the right thing by getting back to the boards and facebook. I'm sure your Mom would want you to rejoice that she is with God and would want you to be moving forward as quickly as possible. No parent wants their child to be in pain. You know that. I hope each day is getting a little better. I'm thinking of and praying for you. Try to take care of yourself.

Thank you Leanne. I know things will always be different now, but you are so right about what my Mom would want. I go back to work tomorrow so that is going to be hard, but it is just one more step.

Hey Dana!
your tribute to your mom is beautiful! thank you for sharing that with us. I happy to hear that you are on the road to getting your daily life back to as normal as you can. Also, happy to hear that you enjoyed your birthday weekend with your children.
:wave2: Connie

 That was such a wonderful tribute to your mother! It's so wonderful to know she and your dad are together again and that they have no pain, no sorrow. They're rejoicing together. I'm so glad that she had a fulfilling life and that she had many, many people who love her and will be a testament to her and your father. We're all here if you ever need us! Your in my prayers!

I got a call from my doctor's office last Thursday to discuss my test results. I had a doctor's appointment for this Thursday so I knew Dr. Jacobs would go over them again. When I woke up on Friday I felt really bad. I was hurting all over and just felt exhausted. I called Dr. Jacob's office to see if I could possible get in to see him that day. I was able to get a 2:15 appointment and I was so glad. I got to his office about 2:00 only to sit in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours. He was caught in surgery. When I finally saw him he told me exactly what I knew he would, my Vit D level was extremely low. Normal is 30-100 and mine is 19. My testosterone was almost nonexistent at a 1.0 and normal for women being 50-100. So I am taking 50,000IU of Vit D a week for 8 weeks and I was given a testosterone shot. He also started me on Adderall XR for the ADHD. I'm feeling so much better now, I'm not so tired and my bones and joints aren't aching.

So since Friday was my birthday Dale bought me a plant. It didn't have a care card in it, but I think it is a calla lillie. The blooms look like one anyway.

The kids gave me new flatware, I needed badly. I think it was my spoons that ran away with the dish :lmao:.

Saturday Dale and I got up and went to the Flea Market and walked around. I got a pair of sunglasses and Dale got him and Dallas a Saints Super Bowl shirt to take to Disney. After we left the Flea Market we when to Pensacola and met up with my friend Lisa and her boyfriend Randy. We had lunch at a place called Time's Diner. Lisa told the waitress it was my birthday and they brought me a sundae. After lunch we drove back and stopped at Publix so I could get a birthday cake.

This is what I chose

VERY yummy. I have been very good and only ate one piece so far.

Sunday, Dallas, Amanda, Matt and I went to see Alice in Wonderland. I had ordered our tickets on Fandango Thursday. Dallas and I met Amanda and Matt at the theater. We got our popcorn and drinks and had to wait to be let into the theater.

Ready to go to the movie. THe little red thing in Dallas' hand is a Bakugan.

We enjoyed the movie, it was kinda scary, but good. Dallas and I saw previews for several movies we want to see. I definitely want to see Tron Legacy when it comes out. I LOVE Tron. I think I have seen the first one at least 10 times......

So the weekend was good, it got rough last night, but I know that will happen.

Thank you Connie. I did have a good birthday weekend so that helped.

Dana--that cake looks so delicious---I don't know that I could limit myself to just one piece. You are being very good. I'm glad that you got to spend your birthday weekend with your family and friends. :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear the medicine is beginning to work and that you are starting to feel some better.

Hope you have a good day going back to work tomorrow! :)

I am glad you had a good birthday weekend.

I have found that the special days are the most hard. The 2nd-day she passed holiday's bday's etc. I scheduled Avery's well child check this year on her bday since she is a healthy and happy kid. We will go to dinner after at a place we used to go with my Mom. It does get easier.
Good luck at work tomorrow.

That was such a moving post about your mom, Dana. It sounds like she had a long, wonderful life. I know this is still a very difficult time for you. It is never easy to lose a parent. I'm keeping you in my prayers!

I'm glad you had such a great bday weekend! That cake looks yummy! I'm drying to see Alice.

Thank goodness the doctor figured out what was wrong! I'm glad the meds are helping!

I had already decided that I'd come on this morning and ask you if you had heard anything from the doctor yet and then I read your post. At least now you know what you are dealing with and can start getting better. :thumbsup2

Very cute movie picture. It sounds like you had a good birthday! You deserved it after all you have been through lately. :grouphug:

The cake was delicious. It is the first cake I have had from Publix, but it won't be the last.

I'm glad the meds are working too. I am getting up feeling much better. I am trying to get use to my adderall xr, it does give me some energy.

So far work is going well!!

Thank you Mary.

I know the holidays are going to be hard. Growing up we always celebrated every holiday at our house and even though Mama wasn't able to do it the past several years, now I know it won't happen. I am having a pretty good day at work.

Dana,

Sounds like you had a pretty good birthday. Your cake looks so yummy and the Lilies are beautiful. Dale knows how to pick some pretty flowers doesn't he? :goodvibes

I'm glad your first day back is going okay and I'm glad that the doctor has you marching on the right path to feeling better physically. My Lindsey has ADHD and it is a crazy illness in my opinion. After she was diagnosed and we started treatment it is like I have a completely different child. After a couple of weeks you are going to feel significantly better. I can't wait to hear about it. Love you Dana! Have a great day!

Leanne

Sorry about the break in my responses. Work sure can get in the way of fun at times.........:lmao:.

Thank you Julia. I am truly blessed that she was my Mom. I catch myself thinking I need to call her about something and then it hits me.

The cake was yummy. They had one with raspberry filling that Dale wants to try next.......:lmao:.

I'm so glad I have such a wonderful doctor. He really took the time to listen to me and didn't just push it off as unimportant complaints. I didn't know how bad I really felt until I started feeling better.

Calke looked YUMMY!!!!! LOVE it!
Publix girl, Publix.

Oops forgot to say that I liked the plant and the cake looks super yummy!

Thank you Lisa. I am so glad to have a diagnosis.

I have a great family, some wonderful friends and the best Dis friends that helped me have a good birthday. Funny, I don't feel any older, I actually feel younger now that I feel better......:cloud9::lmao:.

First day back to work---Hope you have a good day! :)

:goodvibes

It was a good birthday weekend. I think Dale and the kids split the weekend up like they did to keep me busy. He did pick some pretty flowers :lovestruc. He can be a pretty good husband at time :rotfl2:. I told him he didn't have to get me anything because the camera was my BD present.

ADHD is crazy isn't it? Dr Jacobs said I most likely have been ADHD all my life, but they didn't diagnosis it when I was a kid. Back then everybody would say things like I was windy(talking too much), figity and "running around like a chicken with it's head cut off".......... He also said new research is showing that ADHD is something you never outgrow. So that means I'll never settle down?.......:lmao:

Thank you for being such a good friend. Love ya.

So today was a good off day. I went to Target and found a couple pair Disney socks to take with us, but not much else. It was such a pretty day here and it was nice to just get out and ride around a while.

Glad you had a good day. They can sometimes be hard to come by!!! I haven't found too much at target either, I've found more at Michaels then anywhere else. They had lanyards for $1. Other little kiddie trinkets for 50c or $1. I got some more stuff, I have to take pictures, work has been hectic this week, so I'll see what I can do this weekend. Thank GOD tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!

I'm glad to hear that you had a good day. Sometimes the monotony of everyday tasks helps to keep your mind off other things.

Yeah I know they can be few and far between, but today, I have to thank my ex husband for making today a good day. He has always been such a comedian and today he made me feel better. He lost his Mom while I was in Disney in September. He has always been a much better friend than a husband. I will have to go to Michaels next week when I am off. I hope you are feeling better.

Thank you Lisa, it was such a pretty day. You are sooooo right about the monotony, it was much better to be at work than sitting here Tuesday and Wednesday. If I can keep my mind off things I'm much better.

So happy to hear you had a good day, Dana! I had never thought about looking at Michael's for things. Everytime I mention going there to Mike, he gets a scared look on his face. Mama has a little too much fun when she goes to craft stores. :rolleyes1
