Redeye Hawaii Airbus or Boeing if flying economy?

We are flying economy to Hawaii, the flight home is the redeye. Ive done this flight on Hawaiian before and appreciate the Hawaiian music etc while on the way to Hawaii. But wondering if Delta could be more comfortable coming home?

Option 1 is Hawaiian Airbus A321
Option 2 is Delta Boeing 767-300

Flight costs are essentially the same.

We’ve done delta several times to HI and found it very comfortable. But since we are frequent fliers to/from HI to the mainland, we’ve been pretty loyal customers with Alaska/hawaiian. To me it’s a toss up. If you’re not going for loyalty miles, I’d do delta. Really wish delta still code-shared with Alaska!

We are redeeming points with either one, we don’t have any status anywhere though since we are always just redeemed credit card miles for flights.

Do you get free bags with either one? Idk how HA works but DL will give everyone on the res free bags if one person holds a DL gold or higher card. (DL gold biz- not personal- has become a keeper for me between the free bags, 15% instant savings on all flights booked with miles and $150 hotel credit for DL stays bookings which practically turns the card into free since the AF is $150).

The other question then would be widebody versus narrowbody. The A321 is a narrowbody with 3-3 seating and the Delta 763 is a widebody with a 2-3-2 layout. How many in your group? I'd personally go with the 763 if it were just my wife and I, that way we don't have to share with anyone else.

There will be 5 adults, 1 big kid and 1 baby. I have never been on the wide body planes before

Good point. It's her 1st flight so we have no idea how it's gonna go.

Ended up booking Hawaiian going to Hawaii since the Delta flight lands 4.5 hours later than Hawaiian and we want those extra hours in Hawaii. Then booked Delta coming home on the Red Eye.
