The Return of the Disney Box--Trip Report Started--PTR Complete =)

Hey your plans look great! We love that walk from the Contemporary to the MK and vice versa. It's so quick and easy!

Hey, since you just posted on my PTR I wanted to come over and read yours. Your plans sound good to me. I would do Fantasmic the first night too, it's my favorite night show!

Thanks for stopping by! I love Fantasmic!, too! :goodvibes

Hey your plans look great! We love that walk from the Contemporary to the MK and vice versa. It's so quick and easy!

Problem is, if I get to the Contemporary, I may not want to leave! I've always wanted to stay there, even if it does look like a gigantic toaster! :rotfl:

Haha, I never thought of the Contemporary looking like a gigantic toaster! :rotfl:

I can't wait to see how far the Bay Lake Towers have gotten since I last saw the construction.

One of my buddies on the Tagless Thread on the Community Board bought DVC for BLT. I think she is going to go in August, right after it opens up! I'd love to go there, as well.

I love the Winniw the Pooh characters. I love Pooh, and Piglet, and Owl, and Eeyore. And being a teacher of students with special needs, I can so identify with Tigger. The Tigger type ADHD child is always the kid I love the most. He's the ones all of the other teachers can't handle. And the one who can get away with absolute murder with me. I think I like Tigger so much also because of the Bouncy-Bouncy nature of Tigger. And the Winnie the Pooh ride in Magic Kingdom? I love it. My favorite part, of course, is the Bouncy, Bouncy Tigger part. You know the ride--this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgbKi0owqCM

Well, that, of course leads me to this: Park Hoppers. Or, rather, in my opinion and in honor of Tigger, Disney should change their names to Park Bouncies. Has anyone here not heard of the unbelievable crowds for Spring Break at Disney World this year? I never would habe believed it had I not seen the pictures. On April 7, Magic Kingdom had a level 4 closing. Further on into the week, we who will be at Disney during peak season were horrified to watch more and more closings due to peak crowds.

So my solution to the problem was to add park hoppers. Or, as I refer to them, Park BOUNCIES. In honor of Tigger.

So. . .without further ado, here are our daily plans for disney for this summer:

Tuesday, June 23, 2009--Travel day; riding the monorail and either Epcot EMH or Fantasmic! I am starting to lean more towards Epcot, as it is an easier entrance and exit for the monorail.

Wednesday, June 24, 2009--Magic Kingdom

Thursday, June 25, 2009--Hollywood Studios and Epcot

Friday, June 26, 2009--Typhoon Lagoon and Magic Kingdom

Saturday, June 27, 2009--Epcot (1/2 day)

Sunday, June 28, 2009--Animal Kingdom

Monday, June 29, 2009--Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom

Tuesday, June 30, 2009--Magic Kingdom and Epcot

Now, I know that everyone says that we should not even attempt the Extra Magic Hours, but I am starting to disagree. I think if we take long breaks, then we will be fine staying up late. Especially if we sleep during the 4-5 hour breaks I am going to plan.

I'm not keeping any hopes that we will see Fantasmic! although the second day it is a possiblity that we do Fantasmic! and then go over to Epcot--which would work well, considering where we are that day. We'll just burn that bridge when we get there.

At this point, we now have 8 weeks until it's our departure week, so it would probably be a good thing to go ahead and up my updates to 2 a week. Not so sure of what updates I'm gonna do, but it certainly is time to step up the planning. I'm so behind right now. For the October trip, I had everything together in June. That's 4 months in advance. I have 8 weeks and nothing done that I had sone for June. I just look back at the picture of the table from the Disney box, and I'm thinking, "Wow, what have I been doing?" Maybe I'll get my act together by the end of this week. Especially since I'll be paying of the trip this week. ( and that really deserves a couple of babnanas :banana::banana: )

Anyway, coming up--day one plans and We're Leaving at What Time in the Morning?

You are too funny..park bouncies...it really makes much more sense, if you think about it. I feel like the Winnie the Pooh characters are sometimes overlooked, but I love them also!!! Your plans look good so far. I hear you about being behind in planning..I feel like I am too!

Seriously, you HAVE to EMH. It'd be a waste not to. We sleep in a bit in the morning, head to whatever park, then go back to the room for relax/swim in the late afternoon, then head out for the night and stay till the end of EMH's. Seriously, sleeping in and taking a break in the afternoon are the way to go! We always have a second burst of energy after that relax/swim time!

Looking forward to more good reading!

Welcome! And stick around! It's gonna get good this week. I have a surprise in the works, but I don't wanna jinx it. . .

I love the idea of Park Bouncies. Makes much more Disney sense.

I don't know where all of this time went to, but it's ridiculous! Just yesterday it was the beginning of Spring Break and June looks so much closer this side of Spring Break than the other side!

Too bad my kids get up early and stay up late! :scared1: I don't know what their deal is. . .they'll be up at 6am and stay up until midnight. I'm hoping to coax a nap in. If I can't, we're going to have a little surprise with us. That's coming up tomorrow. . .

Oh c'mon! You love leaving cliff hangers!

We are PAID IN FULL!!!!

Still waiting on the surprise. It has something to do with Nintendo, though. . .

The surprise for the kids was a game for the Wii that they've really, really, really wanted. But I can't find it anywhere. :rolleyes1 But. . .while I was looking for stuff to buy, I picked up this little beauty this weekend. . .

I'm an avid scrapbooker and I've really missed having a nice camera. Our Nikon N50 (35mm film SLR) is getting a bit old, although it still works well. I've bought a couple of point and shoot digital cameras--a Nikon Coolpix 5600 a couple of years ago and a Canon last year. Let me say, if you have had several Nikons, you don't want a Canon, and I'm assuming it's vice versa. So, after saving pennies and pennies and pennies, the Nikon D60 became part of the family. :woohoo:

So, if anyone can tell me where to get this Rampage game for the Wii, let me know. My intentions to keep the kids having fun at the resprt involve taking our Wii with us. I'm hoping it will fit in the safe, or at least I can lock it in the suitcase.

So, a little boring today, but I'm really tired tonight and I am looking forward to the next 57 days. Yep, 57 days. On May 9, we will be starting our countdown calendar! :cheer2:

popcorn:: I'm in! I love the disney box idea! can I steal it? dh would never notice another rubbermaid tote around here :rotfl:

44 Days. A beautiful number, one like any other in Disney Planning. Four months of planning are coming down to this: I have 44 days left of planning. 6 Weeks. And in the past three weeks, I have done nothing. Nada. NONE-THING.

What is wrong with this picture? I get started. I promise I do. Then I get all sidetracked and forget what I was doing. So I start all over again. But that is not the biggest reason why in recent days I'm so seriously behind in planning. My biggest reason is recreation baseball and softball. All three of the kids are playing. Boo and Big Ole Boy are playing machine pitch instructional ball. DH is the coach. Sweetie is playing 9-10 years old slow pitch softball. My job is to take her around to all of the different places she has to play.

So. . .what's going on right now? Panic is officially setting in. Gillian and I are now talking weekly, and she is going to come by my classroom tomorrow.

I do, however, know the plan for our travel day. . .

4:30 am on June 23, 2009--we are leaving home. Yes. 4:30 am. I know. Real early. The theory here is that the kids will be so drowsy that they will be good for the first 2 hours, then we will get breakfast and they will either play games for a while or they will go to sleep. Either way, my children are MUCH better behaved in the hours before 2pm than the hours afterward. I don't know why, but that's the case.

So, where was I?

4:30 am--Depart home
arrive in Orlando 2:30-3:00 (accounting for meal stops)
visit the grocery store
check in (by 5pm)
unpack and go over to the Boardwalk for ice cream at Beaches and Cream
go over to Epcot for extra magic hours for 1-2 hours
return to POR
go to bed--Magic Kingdom is the next day!

So now that I know how I'm getting there, the question is this: what am I doing the rest of the days?!?!? Yep, when I think of that, the panic sets in. Six weeks. I have not begun to pack. I have not looked at the packing list. I have not made touring plans. The constriction of the panic is getting worse and worse. Thank goodness I still do have 44 days.

You are doing great! Anything we can help you with??

LOL, remind me to get my behind in gear! I totally planned to plan last night. I fell asleep instead. I'm going to work on planning this afternoon before Sweetie's game tonight. And maybe some during AI commercial breaks tonight.

Ya'll are the greatest! I had dreams of the trip all last night as Gillian came by to visit me yesterday and we talked Disney nonstop in my classroom during planning.

I am glad that things look like they might be getting back on track. Do you have a written out to do list? Especially one in order of things you need to do? If you post it we can help keep you honest ;)
