Lilacs are much better than a smelly sock! Of course..I generally don't wear socks so I don't have that issue. Lilacs are also better than smelly poof'ing..although then you just get that layered effect of lilacs and...okay..rambling..nevermind :rolleyes1:

sorry to hear that...budget cuts are happening everywhere in education at the moment...

Will definitely be praying...

Cha-ching goes the coin...

The education budget cuts are just BRUTAL...and a big reason we're looking into homeschooling Keegan for at least the first 6 years of school. Too many cuts to crucial elements of education in my opinon. But, I digress.

Thanks for the prayers.

So, since I'm reply and thusly reposting that soup pic, is that another Cha-ching
? ;)
You are such a cliff HANGER !!! 3,000 pix of soup and NO CHONIES!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know right? That's what I was thinking. He posts "Chonies LIVE page 111" and all we get is a picture we've seen a handful of times before and no actualy picture of Jordan wearing them. :P

What an awesome article on your dad!

I'm not too much of a soup person unless it's cold, but I do like chowders and cream soups. We don't have Sweet Tomatoes here, only Souper! Salad, and they closed the one by me so I haven't been in forever. (WTH is there an exclamation point in the middle of the name of that place anyway?)

I'm going with something no one has guessed - I'm saying the white/pale blue possibly ones second from the left in the top row. And also going with pulling them up from under waistband instead of pulling pants down.

We have a Souper! Salad here as well. And I prefer Sweet Tomatos over it hands down. I could make the same salad bar Souper! Salad has here at home. Lame.

great. I smell like a flower. I guess that's better than a sweaty sock...;)

Much better than a sweaty sock. :D Although, some women, I've heard, do like the smell of a sweaty man. *shrugs* Whatever floats your boat I say. :)

I shared the article about your dad with Jeff and I'd forgotten his mom's old business partner (who was in the Coast Guard with his dad) was also in a camp. So wild that it was all that recent. Jeff said he could still remember the fight song too lol, he went to San Diego State for a year.

Now you're just trying to make money off me...

Although SweetTs isn't what it used to be, it's still the best out there.

My mom was only in camp a short time. My aunt, her sister, lived in AZ and was past the invisible line where u had to go to camp...so my mom got to go live with her.

Ok, a couple of things:
1. Jordan, have you tried the carrot-ginger soup at Boma? I love it, it tastes like a wrm pumpkin pie.:love:
2. Last year my vehicle broke down outside of the "World". I must have had someone looking out for me because the cab company that was called was a small family owned company. They took us back to our hotel and charged less than $20. the next day I couldn't find a garage to fix my car and the same cab company had there mechanic fix it, $40, and the drive/owner didn't charge to pick me up from the resort and take me to my car. I just had to pay cab fare from my car to a parts store and back. She waited while I got parts, the meter wasn't running, and she waited until the car was fixed so I wouldn't be stranded! She was an angel and I have her business card so if I ever need a taxi at WDW I call her!

Just want to say hello. I have been reading your trip reports for a year or so. I know just a lurker. But really enjoy your posts and we go to WDW every year. But this is what go me to reply, the story about your Dad getting an honorary degree from SDSU.:teacher: Then you said he attended Asbury College in Wilmore Ky.... AND we live 30-45 minutes from there. We actually live in the capitol, Frankfort. ITS A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL. Just had to throw that in there. Keep writing those posts and maybe we will run into each other at WDW one day. Thanks Keith

Chapter 10. Derek begins his descent to the Dark Side called the DIS.

When I last left you, we were leaving the Wave and it's awesome soup. I was just about to show what chonies I was wearing that day. We were trying to figure out exactly where to take the picture when finally we just looked around the lobby and said "what the heck?" and I pulled up my chonies:
062.jpg

That's right! I don't think one person guessed the chonies with the dice. I wore these for good luck for my first day......

Saturday night, February 6th.

We headed up to Wendy and Derek's room. I had run into Wendy earlier when they were checking in and we were eating in the Wave. She gave me a key to get into the building. Yes, the only way to get into BLT is a room key.:headache: I discovered another way later, but I'll divulge that when I get to that day. We all went up to the 4th floor of the CR, crossed the bridge to BLT and went up to the 10th floor. We were warmly greeted by someone--Derek?

Now here's where I think Derek gets "infected" with the DIS virus. Everyone, Winkers, Djay, Rosie, Blue and her family were all as nice as can be. Derek is a very gracious host wherever he is. I think both he and Wendy have the gift of hospitality. Of course, Blue's son and Erin and Dylan immediately hit it off so they are off playing. Derek and Blue's DH have some bonding time. Derek sees that all these peeps are as nice and "normal" as can be. You'll see as we spend more and more time with everyone that the "virus" spreads in Derek. I mean how can you not like Winkers, blue, rosie and djay? and the rest, of course, is history.

It was great just to hang out. It was so different not to be on a schedule. We all just kind of sat around. Watched a little TV. Talked. Laughed. So relaxing.

we all spend almost 2 hours there. We all head out. Blue and family head to the MK a bit before we leave, then Winkers, Djay and rosie and I walk over to the MK busses to head back to Pop.

Here are some pix of our time at BLT--just chillin.

During our meal at the Wave, Wendy and gang were eating:

1. I may or may not have had the soup at Boma...
2. I want the name of that lady! I'm sure Winkers does too!:thumbsup2 How awesome was she!

Yes....a flower is a heck of a lot better than a sweaty sock!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I wholeheartedly agree...:thumbsup2

Keith,

party::welcome:party:

My parents went to visit the Asbury area maybe 6-7 years ago. My dad has a classmate that still lives in the area...

It IS a small world...(the saying happens to be one of my least favorite cliche sayings of all time, but if the shoe fits....)

See..with everything going on with Piper and I right now you should have known not to say something that would make me aaaaall :sad1: Honestly though, thank you..that means a lot!

Great update! Thanks so much for what you said earlier about us being like family and visiting California. I have always wanted to visit Cali. Now that we are adults and can swing such a trip, we have a small child. I have been waiting for him to get a little older so that I can tour a lot of places. I am now realizing that it will take several trips to fit in all the things that I want to do.

Ok, back to this update....I think it's GREAT that Derek has been bitten by the Dis bug! We had such a great time with all of you guys. DS just LOVED Wendy & Dereks kiddo's.

California is such a huge state with differing climates and cultures. Can't wait to show you my home state.:thumbsup2

You know, that's really all it takes. Meeting some people "live" and realizing that they are all just normal and nice! It can convert most anti-DIS'ers I think. Jeff was a little wierded out my my internet playgroup until he met a couple of the ladies

Jeff's not anti-DIS, just doesn't think he has the "time" for it lol.

What a fun and relaxing evening all around, from dinner to just chilling with friends and family. Sounds pretty perfect to me.

Lucky Dice.

DUH!
