Up this morning at 7.45am. Going to Seaworld today. Mears were due to collect us at 9.20am so we headed to over to the main building at 9.10am. At 9.20am a taxi pulled up called our name and said Mears had sent them for us. Great that meant no more pick ups. We were soon at Seaworld and the fun began. He tried to charge us $30 for the trip. Tricia tried explaining to him that for the two of us it was a $28 return fare and that he should give us a return ticket. The poor man didnt have a clue and Tricia confused him so much that in the end we gave him $28 and he gave us $10 back. I dont have a clue how he worked this out and neither did he. We left the confused driver and went and got our tickets from the big portacabin. When we came out the confused driver was waiting for us. He had phoned Mears and now he understood, we gave him the $10 back and he gave us a ticket for the return journey. We gave a tip before we left him.
We got into Seaworld within a few minutes and went straight to Journey to Atlantis. I had finally convinced Tricia to give it go. We were on after a 20 minute wait. We got the back seats and when we got off I had one little splash on my leg and Tricia a splash on her arm. I was expecting to drown!!! It was a brilliant ride but I had expected it to be longer. Went to the Shamu show next and had a churro and some water. Had wanted coke but the drinks machine wasnt working. Shamu was magnificent. I find it fascinating how the can train these mammals. After Shamu we had lunch at Voyagers and the portions were HUGE!!! I had grilled salmon and once again Tricia had chicken. Next up was Penguins encounter, Tropical Reef and Tide Pool and the Dolphin Nursery. I could have stayed here all day. Went to see Fusion next at the Bayside Stadium which was really good.
When we left here we went over to Dolphin Cove and we got to touch the dolphins. I love dolphins so naturally this was the highlight of my day. Went to the dolphin show and then the Shark encounter. We also saw Clyde and Seamore but I cant remember when. We had arranged to be picked up at 6.30pm so we had a snack and a drink at the bakery before we went out for the bus. While we were sitting we noticed a squirrel go into one of the shops and climb up the lollipop stand. One of the shop workers chased it back out again but it went straight back in again, this time it was chased out with a broom. It left this time and went into the bakery instead. Got the bus at 6.30pm without any drama and returned to Port Orleans.
Once we got back we dumped our shopping in the room and went to MGM. We went to the Backlot Tour where we were asked if we would like to volunteer to be in the next show. Tricia declined, didnt want to be soaked so we went into the show that had just started. When we got on the tram we got to see the framework for the seating area for the new stunt show and the CM told us a bit about it, sounds cool. After the tour we went to get something to eat then we went to Tower of Terror. We managed to ride it 3 times in 40 minutes which was brilliant. The second ride was the best, we had a few people who were really scared. One woman was so terrified she was screaming to get off before it had even moved. Went to see Fantasmic at 10.30pm. We got seats in the Mickey section and our view was perfect. I love the finale, always gives me goose bumps. When we left the park a bus was waiting and we were soon on our way. When we started moving our driver Jeff said, The lights have gone out and the bus will now plunge 13 storeys, please hold small children by the hair! He also had the whole bus singing the Mickey Mouse Club song. He was great fun. Went to bed when we got in after setting wake up call for the morning as we are going to early entry at the Magic Kingdom. Oh yeah, no rain again today!!!
