The really BIG problem with dinner on the Wish Class ships

How about a 4th dining venue for those that don’t want all of the “noise” from the shows and want a quieter and quicker dinner? It would be like the Cabanas dinner without the salad bar. A mix of things on the current menus. Open seating like breakfast/lunch in the dining rooms. Yeah, it will never happen but a girl can dream…...

Do you think it might have been your serving team and not the ship?
This is true for sure. However our main server had been with DCL for 14 years . The head server was leaving in a month to be a head server on the Adventure. Not sure about our assistant as we saw twice on a 4 night cruise. I guess I would have expected DCL vets to be more personable and attentive to service like we had come to expect with DCL

Unfortunately, a dip in service levels could be a byproduct of the fleet expanding so much. I'm sure they are constantly onboarding (see what i did there? ;)) new employees...err...cast members to staff the dining rooms and staterooms, etc. So the "seasoned" cast member becomes harder and harder to come by. Also, if the rumors are true that Virgin Voyages regularly poaches DCL cast members, it makes it even that much worse.

Yeah just reopen the buffet like before COVID when it was transformed at night into a sit down resturants... that seemed to be used for training. Now the train seems to be done in the main resturants, and with their new ships and turn over rate... that seems to be much to common now.

Last time we went to Cabanas for dinner, it was only 1/6 open for seating and the limited menu was great.... and it was a normal meal that only took an hour.

Ya, maybe Disney shutting down the buffet for dinner could be a big part of the problems we see now. Do they actually lack the number of crew to staff it now, or is it really a cost cutter in disguise?

I wish they would do this! Dinner on DCL is actually a big negative for us and a reason why we have looked at other lines. I don’t like having a set dinner time every night, I don’t like maybe sharing a table with strangers, and I don’t like how the dining rooms are so crowded. Some times you just want to have a quick dinner at 6 pm (that’s not pizza or burgers) because that’s when you are hungry and not have to wait until 815 for a 90 minute dinner.

If I've said it once I've said it a million times, but the fact my wife and I hate dinner shows and would prefer at least one non-MDR dinner option other than a single pool deck option is why we've been exploring other cruise lines. I wish Disney had stuck with a single tame dinner show the way they used to have, instead of shoving a ton of noisy ones down our throat

Yes! It was so nice on our non DCL cruise this past summer to show up to dinner when we wanted and get a table to ourselves with a view of the water and not have serviced stopped for awhile while some show was going on.

r.e. bold -- if value for $$$ spent is important and *Disney pixiedust:* takes a back seat to true relaxation, venturing out is wise.

r.e. bold - Been there and done that since 2019 on our other Cruise Line and have saved $$$$$ = more cruises below DCL pricing with greater service.

There is both palos and enchante. Excellent food and service. Why are people pretending these restaurants dont exist.

I do not want them to open up more dinner venues. It will make the cruise cost go up more and dilute the quality of the food.
