So I had an incident last night.

Around 11:40PM, I hear this HUGE crash in the living room. At first I thought the boogey man was here. My mom spent the night last night so I wake her up and ask her if she heard it.

We both go out into the living room and my beautiful shelf my Dad made me is laying on the ground.

I'm 99% sure that Sully was on top of it and made it fall. He was going crazy last night over the ribbon on the balloons that my Mom bought Marc. We moved the balloons from near the shelf before we went to bed but apparently Sully thought they were still near there.

So We start picking up stuff and what do I see that makes me cry?

My beautiful birds that were our cake topper are smashed INTO A MILLION PIECES. I could have killed Sully. I still could. I am so MAD. He weight 25lbs! He can't climb up on stuff like that anymore.

I am so upset. We got them on ebay before the wedding so I'm going to start searching. If ANY of you ever see these birds please let me know or if you can buy them do it and I will reimburse you. I am so sad!

Then I woke up this morning and had this panicked thought...the shelf is right near Marc's new TV so I bolted out of bed to check to make sure it was working since a lot of heavy stuff fell right near it. THANKFULLY it is working just fine.

Bah.

Not a great start to this day.

LL, I am so sorry that you lost the birds!!:hug::hug: I can understand that they mean a lot to you, and even if it does not seem like that at the moment: you will always have your own memory of your wedding day, your happiness on that day and your beautiful cake topper and that memory has not been destroyed, so it will still be in your life! :goodvibes

LL, I'm so sorry about the birds, but Flossbolna is right. The important thing is that you and Marc have all those wonderful memories of your wedding day. Try ebay, but don't worry about it too much.

:yay: for Marc and the 49lbs! That is awesome!! Very proud of you!! :thumbsup2 The two of you together are going to be able to help each other so much
So sorry about the birds :sad1: I will keep my eyes peeled for them.

Tracy

Congrats on the weight loss and I'm glad the surgery went well for Marc!

So sorry to hear about the birds. :(

I had a shelf fall off the wall once, though as far as I know no cats were involved and the wall anchors just pulled out of the plaster. I lost a beautiful glass vase that I was attached to even though it was given to me by an ex. It stinks to lose things that have sentimental value. The birds look so pretty in the pictures, though, and at least you have those! Maybe you can "zoom in" the picture with the cake top if the resolution is good enough, and frame a picture of the birds for your wall?

I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for your birds I know that it is tough!!! But as many said you have such great memories about your wedding and that is great!!!!

I have two cats and trust me I know the whole willing to kill them thing LOL!!! Hopefully all goes well and Marc can come today!!!!!!

Oh LL, I'm so sorry about the birds. Those darn cats! Always getting into mischief :headache: I would have been just as crushed about losing a special item like that. If I ever see something like that, I'll get it for you! :)

Hey LL. I totally agree with Flossbolna and couldn't have said it better myself. It's still sad though.

Good to hear Marc is doing well and good luck to you both as you continue with all this.

So sorry about the birds. My dog has destroyed a lot of things in her day but nothing so special. I would have totally lost it and DH would have had to come up with some dang good reasons why she shouldn't go to the pound. Not really, I love her dearly, but he would have to keep her away from me for quite some time.

Aww, LL!! So sorry to hear about your birds!!!!!!!!!!:guilty: I hope you find them!! I'll keep my eyes peeled and see if I see them, too! Do you know who made them?!

Hope Marc made it home and is resting today!!!

Oh No!

I'm so sorry about your birds!

I hope your day gets better. Do you have a close up you could frame maybe? It's not the same...but the feeling you'll get from the picture might be.
