The "Oh I Just Love It Here!" Trip Featuring "Besties!!!!" Nov.28 - Dec.2, 2008

mmmmm that was yummy!! I had no plans of Tusker bfast... but me mind is changin' fast LOL!!

I will certainly be back! If you enjoy breakfast foods like I do than you will love it! :)

That is so much food to feast one's eyes upon, especially when one is still on a soft diet. I'm coming back in two days to look at it all again!

Your dad was watching from above and having fun right along with you. My kids will see me in every corner of Disney World when I'm gone, and I know they will shed a tear or two, but I hope more than that they look up and talk to me and laugh at times past and make fun of me like they do and just know that I'm still right there with them enjoying it all.

I can just hear one of them saying,
"Mom would take a picture of that doorknob!"

or
"The sun is coming up. Time for Mom to pull out her 75SPF sunblock."
or
"There's leftover food. Where's the ziplock bags???"
:rotfl:

I cried just reading your post, because I know how much you miss him, and I know there will always be some sadness mixed in with your fun.

Oh MeMom you are too sweet! Don't cry silly! There is sadness of course but there is also so much happiness! Knowing that my daddy is still with me always is such a comfort in times of stress and a joy in times of happiness. I guess I'm just feeling extra sentimental as it's been 16 years this month...it's so hard to believe that it's been so long. I'm pretty sure we will all think of you at WDW! :) I do already! ;)

I wasn't prepared to cry today....pass the tissues. Our Dad's are a source of comfort and joy. I do miss him 13 yrs later but, I love remembering the great times we had.

MeMom you brought tears to my eyes talking about seeing bits of you at WDW when you are gone. I often think about the same thing with my DMom. I hope by then I have grandchildren to distract me from the sadness. ;)

Enough of this boo hoo, and lets talk about that breakfast. I may have to stop by for some, it looks amazing! I'll have some bacon, danish and fruit please....Yummy! :cloud9:

I'm off to do groceries, maybe I'll have a Disney spotting? :)

Awwww...Stace:hug: I'm so glad you were able to share part of this Disney trip with your Dad...I know for a fact that he was there with you!!

Sounds like you guys had a great time at the Tusker House...thank you for posting all the yummy pictures!!!!!!!

Oh Dear! I didn't mean to make everyone upset! It was just stuff I was feeling that day! I didn't have any of the danishes or fruit, but the bacon was fab!

Thanks Jen! you must be so excited right now! Tusker House was really great - better than I had expected!

Hey Everyone,
sorry for the delay in updates but I'm feeling pretty disgusting and blah! I have caught a yucky head cold and am not pleased! But I did get another interview scheduled so I'm happy about that! Anyhoo...time for an update no?

So, when we left off, Lauren and I were stuffing our faces at Tusker House! Man that was a good meal! I'm not a gourmet kinda girl if you couldn't tell already! So after breakfast we wound our way through the Animal Kingdom!
Our first stop after the meal was at It's Tough To Be A Bug! Here are a couple of photos from the queue area:

071_71.jpg

073_73.jpg

Lauren and I as honorary bugs:

072_72.jpg

how crazy do I look in that photo?! Moving on....:rotfl:

Once the we and the bugs left the theatre, Lauren and I decided to head over to Asia and check out treks to Everest! I love that ride and have an unhealthy love of the Yeti! As we neared the forbidden mountain, I stopped to take a picture and proclaim "Oh I just love it here!"

074_74.jpg

I love this photo! I totally stole the idea from others here on the Dis (or was inspired to replicate the image - that sounds better!), but it's just so colourful! I couldn't resist.

078_78.jpg

There was quite a wait to get up the mountain, so Lauren and I grabbed some fast passes and decided to go on a simple jungle trek while we waited! Thankfully, I did not get run over by an ECV this year, but we warned to beware of tigers!

076_76.jpg

075_75.jpg

But they weren't too concerned with us, and we weren't about to interrupt their naptime! Let sleeping tigers lie! ;)

077_77.jpg

I love to linger through here and just watch. I find all animals (well, almost all!) so fascinating and could spend hours just observing them...I must have been a zookeeper in a previous life...:confused3 We had about 30 minutes before our fast passes could be redeemed so we decided that would be a good amount of time to shop! First we played with some stuffed animals (Lauren loves pooh, and I of course had to play with Santa Yeti! The little snowmen Minnie and Mickey were cute too!)

080_80.jpg

I saw what I wanted for Christmas!

082_82.jpg

I just stood and stared at it until Lauren reminded me that I couldn't afford it and it wouldn't fit in my luggage. She would keep it in mind for a wedding gift if I ever get married....someone find me a groom! :bride:

And we were quite concerned about one item...:rotfl:...this Mickey backpack:

081_81.jpg

We couldn't get over the fact that you were to store your belongings in Mickey's brain!! :rotfl2: I think the sales lady thought we were completely bonkers! We could not stop laughing to save our lives! :lmao: Poor Mickey...

So, after zipping up Mickey's head , we headed back to Everest for our expedition! :woohoo: After a great ride,, we were ready to make tracks to a new park.

I didn't get anymore photos at AK that morning. My camera eats up batteries like they're going out of style! But I did put in some new ones on the bus.
Where were we headed off to? You'll find out soon! ;)

Have a good night everyone! :flower3:

I also find it amusing that you store your belongings in Mickey's brain, that seems wrong on many different level.s

Those stuffed yetis are adorable. I need one. ;)

Oh the Yeti... I love him! I have 2 stuffed yeti's, two yeti shirts, a bunch of postcards, a snowglobe, and a keychainm (but I broke it already!)

The Mickey bag....oh man! We had a huge gigglefest over that!
Even today I was talking to Lauren and telling her about writing it in the TR and we laughed for like 5 mins! we're a couple of loonies! :3dglasses

Great update! I do not like the idea of storing things in Mickey's brain! That does not work for me!

Hey all! :wave2:

Where did we go? The Studios! This is what I have to call it now. Lauren has a major problem with the new name. She will not call it anything other than MGM. However, I have reconciled with calling it "The Studios"....in anycase, that is the park we went to!

The Christmas tree just outside the gates was of course decorated for the appropriate theme!

084_84.jpg

085_85.jpg

and there was also an advertisement for a new attraction I was dying to get on and try!

086_86.jpg

So we made our way inside:

087_87.jpg

We decided to head towards the Pixar Studios area and see what the wait was like for TSM.
It was long....and there were no fast passes left....But I figured that would be the case seeing as it was afternoon and I knew they would be gone early. We considered waiting in the standby line, but decided we would wait until the next time we came back for a morning. So we headed over to the other side of the park to check out MuppetVision 3D and Star Tours. Neither of those had a wait! We walked around the backlot areas and browsed a little in the shops. We also stopped at the little Tattoo stand across from MuppetVision to get some temporary tattoos! This is another tradition for us! We thought it would be a good idea to get something we wouldn't normally choose, so Lauren decided on the Cheshire Cat (on her arm), and I got Minnie Mouse (on my ankle) [sidenote: Lauren has a real tattoo of a sun and moon on her thigh, I have no tattoos]...sorry, for whatever reason I wasn't into photography that afternoon so I didn't get any pics! Weird!

As we were making our way over to the other side of the park, I realized it was nearly time for the Block Party Bash!...and that Lauren and I hadn't eaten since breakfast at Tusker House! So I suggested that we get a snack and check out the parade. She obliged so we parked ourselves on the curb right across from SuperStar Studios (where the new American Idol attraction will be housed). I got some yummy popcorn, and Lauren got a mickey bar!

089_89.jpg

while we waited, I also took a picture of this:

088_88.jpg

I don't know what it is, be we Dis-ers must just attract those people...you know the ones...::yes::
The parents waiting behind us, who shoved their kids up to the front...which is fine, I'll let kids go ahead in front of me, but you should at least ask...anyhow, they turned out to be real pieces of work! :sad2:
All he did until the parade started was complain about how the park was so outdated and hadn't added anything new in the ten years it had been open (?!?!?! :confused3 ). He continued to tell his wife how they should shut the park down for a year and completely re-do everything, like they do with the other parks!!! I couldn't believe my ears!! :scared: Lauren just leaned over to me and said "Can I hurt him? Can I at least tell him....no! NO!" :faint:
Thankfully the parade started! Here are some pictures:

090_90.jpg

092_92.jpg

091_91.jpg

093_93.jpg

094_94.jpg

And Boo! Another one of Lauren's favourites (and mine too - but I don't have a talking Boo doll like she does! :p )

095_95.jpg

We were very excited to see Boo! After the parade was finished we decided it would be a good idea to head to another park! (As you can tell already, we love to hop! :)) So we headed back up to the front gates.

Tune in next time to see where we went next! :upsidedow

Great updates. Really looks you had a great time. Looking forward for more of your reviews and more pics.

Have a nice day. :)

Hi! :wave2: Thanks for stopping in! We did have a great time! And not to worry, I have plenty more to share!

Good Block Party Bash pictures.

I'm going to vote NO on the closing the park for a year idea!!!

Thanks MeMom! I vote no too! That man was just crazy! :crazy2: I don't know where he came up with that idea!

No! They can't close any park for a year, what a disaster! How could we manage! Say it ain't so! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You always find people who claim to know something they clearly do not, I feel bad for his wife she may have believed him. :rotfl:

I love the sleeping tiger pic. :thumbsup2

You are too funny talking about the backpack with the open brain.
I laughed more about the pattern of the fabric....very special indeed. :lmao:

How cute are those plushies, I would buy them both. I got the tall Yeti doll for DD last trip even though we never got the nerve to go on the ride...:scared: Maybe this year?

Hope you find a new job soon, you need more WDW trip money. pixiedust:

Great updates, Stacy!

I love that you got a reminder of your dad in AK on what would have been his b-day. WDW memories are so special. I know I have tons of them from when I was a kid and I cherish all of them. And can't wait to create my own with my family (whenever prince charming chooses to reveal himself!)

Your breakfast at Tusker House looks yummy and I am not usually a breakfast fan!

That sleeping tiger is too cute. I just want to cuddle with him... but that probably wouldn't be a good idea. :confused3

I don't know what it is, I just seem to attract the nutty people like a magnet!! I guess birds of a feather...;) I really do need to get back to WDW - hopefully, I made a good impression at my interview on Saturday! I think I have it! :) And thanks for your pixie dust! You're awesome! Have you guys tried watching a video of EE on youtube? That might help you decide if you would like to try it! Personally I love it!

A talking Boo doll?! I want a talking BOO doll!

That guy was an idiot! OTTV!

OTTV indeed!! Looney man! Yes, Lauren has a talking Boo (and I play with her whenever I'm at Lauren's house!):p She is too cute! She says all the good catch phrases and sings! I believe she got it as a Christmas gift so I don't know where it's from...I'll have to ask her. In the meantime I suppose you could try e-bay!

Great updates, Stacy!

Thanks Christine! I'm in the middle of your trip report right now! Isn't it wonderful to relive all of those memories? I'm also waiting for my Prince Charming to come and make new family memories with me! I do wish he would hurry up! Probably not the best idea to cuddle up with a tiger, though you're right, he did look pretty cuddle-worthy! :)

Good evening everyone! :goodvibes I'm just sitting here at my dining room table with my laptop, watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 but it's on commercial, so it's a good time to start my next update! When we left off, Lauren and I were heading for the buses from DHS to go to another park! :)

We had decided that since we hadn't spent much time at The Magic Kingdom the previous day, that we would spen the evening over there! There had been a MVMCP party on our first night, but tonight we could soak up all the magic we wanted! pixiedust: EMH were on our side!

We took the bus to the Transporation and Ticket Centre, and then the monorail! However, Lauren and I managed to get into another gigglefest :rotfl2: and didn't realize that we walked up the ramp for the Resort Monorail! So we kept laughing as we toured to the Poly, the GF, and the Contemporary! It was kind of nice though, as the sun was just moving into the twilight stage and offered a nice photo op!

099_99.jpg

This is where I'm getting married (when my Prince Charming shows up!) It's the wedding pavillion between the Poly and GF. I always snap pictures going past nudging Lauren "Look! My wedding! My Wedding!!" :p She just rolls her eyes!
100_100.jpg

097_97.jpg

Once we made the roundtrip, we got off and got on the correct monorail and made our way into the Magic Kingdom! :hyper: The park was not very crowded at all! Here are a couple of pictures I took on the way in, with the Christmas decor featured!

101_101.jpg

102_102.jpg

We again turned left at the hub and headed around through Adventureland! I thought I had taken more pictures here this night but I don't seem to have too many until we got over to Tomorrowland! We of course did all the favourites and the other favourites that we had missed the day before (like Mickey's Philharmagic, Big Thunder Mountain, Snow White, etc.)

I guess it was about halfway through Tomorrowland, and likely around 6:30/7:00pm, that we noticed the barbeque smell coming from Cosmic Ray's! It called to us...neither of realized how hungry we were! Both Lauren and I love this place! The food is good and it's fun to watch Sunny Eclipse! Even in actual dinner time it wasn't very crowded! I would say we weren't in line for more than 10 minutes or so...both of us got cheeseburgers and fries and chocolate cake! Delish! :thumbsup2 And we both enjoyed the fixin's bar! Lauren got all the pickles and fried onions she could ask for, and I drenched my food in that warm gooey cheese sauce! :worship: Oh Lordy! It is fabulous!

104_104.jpg

105_105.jpg

With nice full bellies (full of gooey cheesy delight in my case! ;)), we went to the Monster's Inc. laugh floor for some after-dinner comedy! I finally remembered to get a picture of the monster snack machine which cracks me up! I think my snack of choice would be "Sugar, Salt and Fat" :rotfl:

103_103.jpg

We headed back into Fantasyland and I become doubled over with laughter when I noticed the DVC booth here! Lauren claimed that she wasn't born in a barn but I'm always ready to take a walk on the wild side! ::yes::

106_106.jpg

We walked back up to Liberty Square and took another ride on the Haunted Mansion. We headed back to Fantasyland and rode Cinderella's Carousel!
