The "Oh I Just Love It Here!" Trip Featuring "Besties!!!!" Nov.28 - Dec.2, 2008

I guess we'll wait around then. Do we get snacks for while we're waiting?

I had to upgrade on photobucket or we would never have been able to complete our reports. It's less than $4 a month, so it was worth it to have no issues.

I hope all that world travel really does come true for you!

I thought about doing the upgrade on Photobucket. I didn't realize it was that inexpensive! Perhaps once I get back to work....:) Sorry I didn't provide you with snacks, but if you check the next update, there's breakfast!

I can't wait to hear about NPH. I hope he narrates again next year and that I can get to see him!

He was really great! And he did speak about how he had done it for a couple of years and really enjoyed it! Hopefully that means he'll do it again! :)

*SIGH* good things come to those who wait

Patience is a virtue my dear!

I guess I can wait too.... :hourglass

Oh I'm glad to see you back on! How are things? Hope everything is going better!

~I managed to get photobucket working so please stay tuned to the next post! :) ~

Alrighty!! Photobucket seems willing to let me upload some photos today so here's a little update for you!

We began the morning of December 2nd at a little slower pace. We slept in a little bit today, and went over to Sassagoula Floatworks food court for some breakkie! I had my bacon, egg and cheese croissant sandwich (I LOVE these!), and Lauren got chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Now, unlike me, Lauren is not much of a breakfast lover. She also is not much of a canadian as she doesn't like maple syrup(! ;)), so she will only eat chocolate chip pancakes with butter, and she gives her best friend her bacon! Yay for me! I took my first couple of bites of my sandwich (one of my Disney favourites) and proclaimed "Oh I just love it here! I could really eat another 5 of these! How come they don't taste this good at home?!"

We had decided that we would head straight over to DHS/MGM first thing so we could finally get on Toy Story Midway Mania! We hightailed it over to bus stop and stood there with our teeth chattering for a few minutes until our transportation showed up. It was pretty chilly this morning! You could see your breath in the air! But it was nothing a couple of Canadian chicks couldn't handle! We had our sweatshirts on and were ready for action! :)

As soon as we got in the park we zipped straight over to Pixar Studios and got in the line for fast passes! I have never stood in line for a fast pass! I couldn't believe it! The park had been open about half an hour (it was about 9:30am)...here was our return time:

028_28-1.jpg

Not too bad really! Lauren was a little shocked but I knew what to expect...however, Lauren had one of her genious moments! The standby line had a wait time of about 70 minutes posted, but all the people in the area seemed to be standing around the fastpass machines, rather than the entrance! She says, "let's get in line! It's probably not 70 minutes because there's no one going in! Then we can do it twice!" So we walked up and headed into the queue!

I'm glad we did wait in the standby line as the queue area is quite entertaining! We had a great time looking at all the giant toys...however I did notice a little joke from the imagineers, right as you walk in. One of them must have been a Canuk! :lmao: Look at the prices...

001_1-1.jpg

I loved the Candyland mural and Lauren thoroughly enjoyed posing with the toys!

002_2-1.jpg

003_3-1.jpg

But the best part of the queue has to be Mr.Potato Head! He sings and tells jokes and it's really entertaining! You don't realize how long you've been waiting while your listening! A great idea!

005_5-1.jpg

We got our 3D glasses :3dglasses and proceeded into the loading area. There is no way we waited 70 minutes! I would say more about 50 minutes tops! And it didn't even seem that long! :hyper:

This is definately a ride you cannot snap photos through! It is sooooo much fun! I really didn't expect to like it as much as I did. I also hadn't read anything about it in order to keep it a surprise so I didn't know what to expect really! I didn't realize you played an assortment of games, I thought it was more like a copy of Buzz's ride. Boy was I wrong! All of the characters guide you along to play carnival style games like ring toss! Sooooo fun! Lauren did beat me though...:rolleyes2

When we finished up our game, we took a stroll over to the Great Movie Ride. This is one of Lauren's favourites as she loves classic old movies. I do enjoy my share of them also but not like her! Plus, I was always afraid of the Wizard of Oz...:rotfl: Between the tornado, winged monkies, and the Munchkins (yes, the Munchkins)....:rotfl2: I did try to snap some pictures in here but they all came out blurry and fuzzy, sorry!

When we finished our adventure through the movies, we decided that we would like to hang out with the Muppets! Lauren wouldn't let me stop to watch the HSM3 show....:rolleyes2 But I danced through the streets anyhow to the music and sang along! ::yes::

We realized that by this time it was just after noon and that both of us were ready to eat again, despite the delicious breakfast we'd had a few hours earlier! We decided that pizza sounded good so we went to Pizza Planet! Both of us had cheese pizzas.

025_25-1.jpg

We sat in the upstairs area which is much quieter, and allows people watching on both floors! ;)

024_24-1.jpg

The pizza was quite good! With full bellies we headed back out into the sun! Where in the park would we head next? Find out in the next update! :)

Have a good night everyone!

Didn't find this at first... just arrived! Subscribing for sure. Doing a great job of writing up!!

Sounds like you came across some people that really didn't deserve to be at Disney though!

Oh, and if you don't mind me saying... you really are very pretty Mrs!

The food looks good!

If we go in March, Hollywood Studios is scheduled to be our first park. We wouldn't arrive until about noon or a little before, though, so Toy Story may be a no go for us. I don't mind so much, as I've done it several times, but I'm sure Kay will want to try to ride it. We'll just have to hope there are still some Fastpasses left when we get there.

I'm sure Jill will be over here eventually to help you eat that pizza. She loves Pizza Planet!

I thought the same thing re: TSM. Didn't expect to like it half as much as I did. So much fun!

BTW- I do not like maple syrup or bacon either so if we're ever traveling together, they're all yours! ;)

Pizza Planet looks pretty yummy! I haven't eaten there before.

Looking forward to finding out where you went next! popcorn::

What a wonderful morning. I am going to brave the standby line because I want to see the queue!

Great Update Stace!! I have to agree I love the whole queue for TSM it was awesome and totally worth the wait for me. I went in right after getting my fast pass and was able to ride it twice and I loved it both time...it was great LOL!!!

totally agree about TSMM :thumbsup2 Although I never got to experience the stand-by line. We were there in the first week it opened and never dared to wander into stand-by :sad2:

Hi and welcome! :wave2:
And thank you for the compliments....despite the lack of hairstyling and proper makeup application! and it's miss...

I really do have a tendancy to find the people who have no idea what Disney is about....it makes you just want to knock some sense into them! I just hope that being there inspires them to research a bit for the next time...;)

Well I would gladly share my pizza with either of you any day! You know that! :) I hope you guys get to do TSM as many times as you want! I would think at noon they should still have some fastpasses left...if not, you could go closer to park closing (or during Fantasmic) and just do standby when the line shouldn't be too bad!

Christine, remind me to make sure we travel together! LOL! ;) And I'll share my lunch or dinner with you! Pizza Planet is pretty good IMHO, in terms of Disney pizza! I do hate that it's on whole wheat crust though! Just wait until you see the rest of the day...I don't know how I get myself into these things! ;)

What a wonderful morning. I am going to brave the standby line because I want to see the queue!

LL the wait really doesn't seem very long! And you really don't see it much at all if you simply fastpass it...again, just go really early or really late!

Thanks Jen! Great minds think alike eh?! That was our strategy for the rest of the trip!

Oooooh dear! Yeah....I don't think I would want to wait in that kind of line either! It would be like Splash Mountain all over again....that was my longest wait in my Disney career. The August just after it had opened....oh Lord! Don't worry though, I'll wait in the standby line with you during Gnomefest if you like! :)

Seriously right!?! :rotfl: And Nobby will entertain us too I'm sure! He'll probably be heckling Mr. Potato Head! We'll all have a great time! :)

Very sorry Miss.... :flower3:

No worries my dear! :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure you and I have several dates! Considering you talked me into Gnomefest in the first place! But we do have to wait a while, so my bank account can get back into shape before we go! Even my mother asked me today when Gnomefest is and that I better start saving!

Oh my mother...
She must have decided that you are all not axe murderers!! :rotfl2:
She has a new concern - vampires. She's watched me read the Twilight series and then the other day I watched this documentary on the Discovery channel about "real" vampires and the history of Vlad the Impaler and....she says to me today, in all seriousness, "Stace....do you ever worry that vampires are real? How would you know if you met one? Don't you dare try to bring home a vampire as a boyfriend!!"
:rotfl: :confused3 :rotfl:

Now that I've finished Breaking Dawn I went back to working in my closet...it's amazing what you find after using it off-and-on for 15 years! I found my old Jessica Rabbit T-Shirt and a whole scrapbook I had made from my trip with my mum in '96! I'm gonna see if I can figure out how to scan the pictures in. And I am proud to say that the closet is now completely empty! I am almost ready to complete my move!

Anyhow...I won't likely get to an update over the weekend. :guilty: My family is coming to visit from Indiana and Aunt Stacy has to help potty train and play and get her baby fix! :p

:rotfl2: Your mom is too funny! Are vampires an improvement over axe murderers? At least we're moving up! ;)

I'm also looking forward to 2010!!! :hyper:

That's credit and not blame right! ;) Is it bad that gnomefest is on my list of pros/cons as I consider my job situation?

HA HA, oh your mom makes me laugh. No, I'm not a vampire, I can't even look at blood!

:rotfl2: too funny C!

Definately credit! :p And I say whatever helps you with your job situation is useful! You know I will consider it in mine!

Yes my nutty mother...she doesn't think any of you guys are vampires! She's worried I'm gonna fall in love with one! :rotfl2: Granted she's sitting across from me right now marvelling at how many phone numbers there must be in the world! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :confused3

Well, I made things a little easier for her. I got rid of my land line. One less number for her to ponder! :)

Hi, Stacy! I am a little late, but just spent a very enjoyable morning reading your TR! We love POFQ so much that we stayed there in June, 2007 and June, 2008! Love your looks of fear at the tiger sign! :rotfl:

Hey CP! I'm glad you came over! :flower3: I too love POFQ, it's just so small and cute!

Sorry again for the delay everyone...I know I am a very bad reporter....:sad2: But after a busy weekend as "aunsaysee" (aunt stacy), I decided to start painting my new basement bedroom and it's taking up time and primer like crazy! I'm guessing it hasn't been redecorated since the 70's, my mum never bothered since she doesn't care much what's on her walls, but I certainly do!

Here's a couple more TSMM pics I snapped to tide you over:
