I hope that your violin can be done in time. For such an important event I'm sure that the store (?) will put a rush on it. Your music is going to be a wonderful gift that you send to your Grandmother.

Thanks. One way or another I'll get a bow. There are a couple of neighbors that I can borrow one from if I need to. I've been meaning to get mine restrung, so this gives me the perfect excuse.

I'm glad you'll be able to enjoy your Thanksgiving. Remember I'm here if you need me.

You continue to amaze me. You have what I think is the perfect family, you are an amazing mother and cook and now you tell me you play the violin?:worship: :worship:

Boy do I have you fooled??? The perfect family??? Well, no! We do our best, but believe me, we have our moments. At the moment I'm particularly peeved with Katie. She brought home a C in math on her report card today. I wouldn't be too upset with that, except it was an A just 2 weeks ago. Apparently, she decided not to complete her assignments. Guess what she's doing this holiday? Yup! completing those assignments to be handed in on Monday. Her response, "But mom, the report cards are already here. It's too late!" Well, maybe next term she'll remember to complete the assignments and hand them in on time!

Playing the violin is not really amazing! I started lessons when I was 6, and really just "fiddle" around with it these days. It's calming, so it should be good for the funeral.

Believe me, you're the one who is amazing!!! You've been through so much, and you are so incredibly strong!!! I want to be you when I grow up!

Glynis -- My condolences on the loss of your grandmother. It is so wonderful for you to play violin at the service.

Sorry I haven't been posting the past couple of days. Life has been busy. Anyway, we had homemade sausage pizza last night, and tonight, after discovering that my favorite fish counter is closed for the season, we went out to eat.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone if I don't get to check back in. We have a busy day tomorrow.

Thank you!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Glynis, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you!

Would you like to come paint my house? All I have are very boring white walls. I would love to get some color going, but I'm so afraid I'll pick the wrong colors, and things could get ugly! I need HELP!!!

Hopefully I'll get to check in tomorrow, but I'm not sure. It's pie night with Alan's family, so I'll be spending the day making 5 pies. I'm sure my house will smell wonderful, but I'll probably gain 10 pounds just from the smell.
I'll be making:

Pecan Pie
Key Lime Pie
Chocolate Chip Banana Cream Pie
Eggnog pumpkin pie
Hello Dolly Pie

I wanted to do the coconut pie, but Alan thought there was enough with the hello dolly pie. Since that's the pie Katie chose to "make", I couldn't tell her no. So, I'm saving the coconut pie recipe for Christmas.

Dinner tomorrow will be tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwiches. Got to get some healthy food in the kids tummies before they pig out on pie!

I'll try to check in, if only to hold on to my sanity!

Glynis - I need the recipe for the eggnog pumpkin pie! Sounds delicious!!

Ok.

Eggnog Pumpkin Pie

1 can (15 oz.) solid pack pumpkin
1 1/4 C. eggnog
2/3 C. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/4 tsp. salt
1 unbaked pie shell (9 inches)

In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin, eggnog, sugar, eggs, spice and salt. Pour into pastry shell. Bake at 375 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on rack. Refrigerate until serving.

I'm here! Thank you for looking out for me!!!

Sheryl, you were close...I was cleaning alot and Andrew was home sick today. I took him to the Dr and its the start of an ear infection and URI...

Sheryl, your bathroom looks amazing...enjoy it! I also LOVE your light. How cool is that???? :thumbsup2

Anyone else see Michael Flatley on DWTS? He and his troop were great! I have admired his dancing since he was a cutie with Riverdance...anyone remember that blonde curly hair?

OK, now, of course since I was not on all day, I am totally lost. I hope everyone is well.

Lauren, so sorry your boy is sick! We'll pray for a super duper quick recovery for him! From all of our chatting I've sort of reaized how much you are like me. So even if I was determined I wouldn't clean at all, yeah I'd end up doing more cleaning than cooking!

And YEAH I saw Michael Flatley!!!!! Sooo cool!!!! I've seen Riverdance once & Lord of the Dance once in person. So I was really looking forward to tongiht! I thougt it was awesome!!!

Sort of sad that Jenny went home instead of Marie, but with this much talent in the end, who knows what could happen.

New for posting on this thread. =) But have spent the last hour or so reading through and have came up with some great dinner ideas.

Last night we had huge chef salads with, ham, turkey, tomatoes, cucumbers, grated cheese, and croutons. They were delicious.

Welcome Baby Piglet!! I'm an "on again off again" poster- but this is a great group and VERY welcoming of newcomers and sometimescomers!!:welcome:

We are going to my ILs tonight (read as "eating as PBJ in hiding then going to eat at ILs"), hee hee!

WFD at your house?

ETA: You guys, I'm so nervous. I have an odd rash on my arm and I have no idea what it is. It seems to have gotten bigger and redder since yesterday. Since MRSA is rampant around here, I am going to the walk-in clinic to get it checked out. Better be safe than sorry.

Lauren- so sorry that your boy is sick. We all seem to be saying that a lot lately so maybe the colds and URI's will be all gone by before the Holidays. Hope he gets better quick.

I thought that since we have similar cleaning styles you got buried under whatever you pulled out :rotfl:. That is what usually happens to me.....I dig it all out and then get lost in all that stuff I had tucked away :lmao:

I did not get to see Michael Flatley but I have been able to see Riverdance twice. My Mom had always wanted to go so we all got together to see it together. Then my niece got us tickets for a "girls" night. I want to bring Buddy, he would love this.

I hadn't even thought about the music teacher. Hmmm, there are 3 schools in our area. I'll be making some calls in the morning. Thanks for the suggestion.

I can't believe I found a fellow ketchup on scrambled eggs lover! I am not alone!!!

Oh no, you are not alone! Ketchup is a staple on our breakfast table. I don't think DH would know what ot do with an egg if it wasn't topped with it.

Plus, I have been repainting one of our rooms after work. Why would I decide to repaint a room right before Thanksgiving and our Disney trip? I have no idea. Anyway two of the walls are now done, and the color looks very nice. Of course, now I want to repaint the whole house... :rolleyes1

I am looking up to you! I need to paint but have not been able to bring myself to start. I can do a lt but for some reason a painting project seems daunting to me!

Hi there! Welcome to the WFD thread. Have you checked Page 1? Lindsay keeps it updated with all of the recipes posted, there are so many to pick from. Please post often and share your dinner ideas. We chat a lot so jump in and join us!

Better safe than sorry Lindsay.... I hope it's nothing!

We will have some sort of take out tonight- I have pies to make and that will make enough of a mess... DD works at our local grocery store and has to work 3-9 tonight... so it will just be three of us... no idea what I want though... the last 2 times I had chinese I was sorry and we had pizza last night.... suggestions??

Do you have a pizza crust handy, or be able to pick one up? I made a really good chicken parmesan pizza recently. Quick and easy and was delish! Or you could just do a topping pizza kind of thing.

I know I'm being paranoid about this rash, but I can't help it. When you have a mom in the medical field telling you what's going on the community, you are a little more cautious than usual.

Lindsay- let us know what the rash is. My DH has one on his arm as well but has not gone to the Dr. He tells me to make an appointment and he will try to get in. I refuse to play with the Dr time that way so I have just been putting an antibiotic cream on it.

I did not see how you made out on Sunday. I thought about you while we were at Mass but then the yard work started so I just glance here.

Everything went great, Nancy!!! I was a little stuffy when I woke up, but by service time @ 9:45, I was doing a lot better. :) Thanks for asking!

We like all kinds of posters but I wish you were "on" a lot more. We miss you when you're not here.

Morning all! I just wanted to pop in here and say:
Happy Thanksgiving!

We are headed out the door, driving down to Houston, to meet up with all DH's family. DH has a twin bro who live in Houston, and his wife just had a baby a couple months ago. This will be the first time for us to meet her. So excited to get my baby fix! I'm also curious to see how much she looks like my daughter. My DD looks so much like my husband--and since he's an identical twin, it will interesting to see if their daughter looks a lot like ours. Anyway, have a great holiday all! Want lots of food porn when I get back. Would love to see everyone's holiday spread!

Are you my twin or long lost sister? I say I won't clean as much, then guilt sets in...or embarassment if a dust bunny is spotted.

Andrew is feeling a little better. I sent him to school...its only half a day.

I saw LOTD once at radio city. I was the young idiot yelling, Michael, I LOVE you!!! I did such stupid things when I was young...:)

I was surprised Jenny was voted off. I have not watched this season but heard she was very good.

I am sure you are fine...pixiedust: Let us know how you make out.

I thought that since we have similar cleaning styles you got buried under whatever you pulled out :rotfl:. That is what usually happens to me.....I dig it all out and then get lost in all that stuff I had tucked away :lmao:

Then you dig everything out and get side tracked right?

I love Micheal's dancing but all of it went to his head a bit...but I think he is still a cutie...its amazing how he dances and all of the dancers were in sync. I wish I could get Tom to go see celtic tiger when it comes around.

We will have some sort of take out tonight- I have pies to make and that will make enough of a mess... How about subs? I love Chinese so I may be the wrong person to ask. WHat happened the last time you had chinese may I ask?

Everything went great, Nancy!!! I was a little stuffy when I woke up, but by service time @ 9:45, I was doing a lot better. :) Thanks for asking!

I have been thinking to ask and then get lost in clutter...I am glad it went great!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! What a nice way to spend it...seeing your neice for the first time.

Tom is cooking tonight...I bought frozen pizza. Think he'll mess it up? Wish me luck!

I'll be cooking and cleaning today so I wanted something easy.

Have a great day all!
