My husband is off today (Columbus Day, I love being married to a federal employee!!). My BIL is off too and we are going out for Mexican at lunch then coming home to waterproof our back deck again.

WFD at your house?

I am on an iron supplement, too and my craving to graze (eat all day long) are GONE. I have lost, no kidding, an inch off my waistline in the past week and a half. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

:cool1:

I havent seen a decrease in my appetite but that would be a nice effect if you can send it my way! =) I actually put myself back on the evil prednisone so I will eat even more now, argh!

That weight loss is amazing!

I think we had one of everything. But yes, the asparagus was my favorite. I had it twice on Friday and once on Saturday..:rolleyes1 I think the counter service food in general was much better at DL than at WDW. And I would be extremely sad to see Bengal go. Oh, and I got my first Dole Whip float at DL. You'll see pics.

I told Rick next time I wanted to do Blue Bayou. So it's a go on that. He wants to get more DVC points at the Grand Californian when they start selling those. I think I should just sign over my paycheck to Disney...:sad2:

We really like the counter service! I love eating at Rancho Del Zocalo, and the Plaza!!! It's a great dream of mine to eat at the Blue Bayou, but Alan always gulps very hard at the price, so I haven't pushed that one....yet!

I can't wait to see your pictures!

Let me see if I can get this to work.

We had the most amazing food. I over booked our meals so we were to full to sample anything at the food and wine festival. Everything looked and smelled so wonderful. The week went so fast.

I still haven't read all your back posts I hope everyone is well.

Janice - Scared??? Y'all look wonderful and happy, now what are the dishes in the pics?

German Chocolate Cream Cheese Bars

Base:

1 package chocolate cake mix
1 1/2 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. margarine, melted
1 egg

Filling:

1 container coconut pecan frosting
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine base ingredients and mix at low speed until crumbly. Reserve 2 cups for topping; press remaining crumb mixture in bottom of prepared pan. Combine filling ingredients and beat at high speed for one minute. Pour over crust. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture over filling. Bake for 45 minutes or until firm when pan is lightly shaken. Serve warm or cool.

That looks wonderful and easy. Can't wait to try them! Thank you!

At the Coral reef we had a Cod cake, Blackened catfish, and the famous Chocolate wave. Wilderness is the mushroom soup and coffee 2 ways.

You all have to go to Coral reef for the Chocolate wave totally awesome. It is warm with caramel and fudge middle. :woohoo:

Gretchen I'm so sorry to hear about Kenny's dad.

I hope Wendie's surgery went well.

Boy you all had a busy week without me.

Thanks Janice, we're going to Coral Reef for the first time, can't wait!

Kathy If they still have that cod cake try that. It was soo good. Just like a crab cake but with cod, not fishy tasting. I had a strip steak in case the catfish wash to spicy for Alex but I raised that kid right, He ate the whole thing even some of the grits. He commented that that was the first time a restaurant had just the right amount of spice. The steak was so tender. I never would have expected a fish restaurant to have good steak.

Ok enough I'm making myself want to go back already.:rolleyes1

Good job Mom!!

Tonight is my husband's monthly Geek meeting so I am on my own tonight. I bought some mini-penne and some jarred spaghetti sauce, and that's going to be my dinner. Yum yum!! :)

WFD at your house?

Janice- I loved your pics! It is so nice to be able to put faces to the people I enjoy so much. I liked Coral Reef a lot even though I saw some sketchy reviews.

Becky- I hope that you post pictures of your mutter. I am dying to see what this dish looks like. Have fun on your weekend.

Has anyone heard from Kris? I keep wondering how Wendie is doing.

Sheryl- after showering the closet would have been out! I never got everything done yesterday that I intended to do, but I have decided that what is left will be out of sight out of mind. We are on track at the sheds, I told Buddy that I really don't care how late I am out on Wednesday it will be fine, and he can let the other shed wait until I get home.

Now all I need to do is pick up more jeans for him because I don't want him to touch my washer :scared1:.

Donny brought over book 7 of the Harry Potter series and wanted me to swear that I would treat it better than I made him treat his school text books! He almost survived that little remark, next time he will not be so lucky.

We got through our visit with Kady's Meme without her blurting out the trip :cheer2:. I was a little concerned because she sometimes forgets what is a secret and what is not, but I did not want to go and not bring Kady to visit her.

Good morning!

Nancy - Still no word from Kris on Wendie. I'm concerned too.

WFD tonight - Oven BBQ chicken, mac & cheese and baked beans. YUMMO!

Janice, very nice pics. Thanks for sharing! :cool1:

We are having macaroni with tomato sauce and meatballs. Bread and salad on the side.

Janice - thanks for the pics and the condolences.

Nancy and Kathy - thanks for the bday wishes for my darling girl. She had a good bday last night and even blew out the candle all by herself! However, she wouldn't eat the doughnut the candle was in, I had to get her a new one. I have no idea why :confused3 but autism is a strange disorder. She loved her gifts and the therapists when WAY overboard again. Those are young girls who need their money and yet they insist on spending too much on bdays, etc on us. I feel like their mother and hate to see them spending their money, you know how that is.

Lori - waiting for your pics from DL. I'm feeling you on the extra points. We just received the OKW extension offer and although we will be too old, we are debating whether the kids would use them. I'm really on the fence because I would LOVE to own at the Contemporary if they are really building a DVC there. That hotel holds so many wonderful memories for me and I know DD would love to be that close to the MK.

Tonight we are having a simple dinner - roast beef, rice and gravy, and butter beans.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Ladies, I am doing that annoying thing I do just before vacation - tweaking my dining reservations. I had planned on cancelling the Artist Point reservation, but so many of you told me to keep it. However, I need to delete one of the following:

Artist Point
California Grill
Yachtmans Steakhouse
Flying Fish

Which would you delete?

WAH-HOO RED SOX!!!

(and Patriots)

I made all this food and none of you guys showed up! :confused3 :rotfl:

GO RED SOX!!!
Just looking at that food made me drool over my freshly cleaned work desk..thanks alot Becky! Seriously though, what a great feast!
AND what a great weekend to be from Boston and be a Boston Sports fan!woohoo..i don't know what i was more excited about, red sox sweeping, The Pats dominating or the Yankees losing! ;)

I'll post it tomorrow first thing!(Gotta clean up before Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters).:thumbsup2
Just had to jump in to say " How much do you love Brothers and Sisters!?" i cannot get enough of that show..it is def. my new favorite!

WOW..that is a tough decision...i've only been to the YS on that list, and if you like red meat..do NOT delete that one! :)

WFD tonight..ok trying to cook again after a whole week of leftovers, takeout and frozen stuff..ugh...Tonight will be rotisseri chicken ( MIGHT cheat a little and get the one already cooked...stuffing, cranberry sauce and potatoes of some kind...hey its a start! ;)

Here are the promised photos. Mutter paneer, simmering on the stove:

After the cream and final spices are added, plated with some basmati rice:

And garlic naan for scooping everything up:

Next time I would cut the paneer smaller, add more peas, and make more sauce! Overall it was good though.

Tonight's tentative wfd is a use it all up asian salad with rice noodles, chicken and shrimp, etc. --kind of like a pad thai. I am also considering making a soup to go with it, we'll see.
