Tonight is spaghetti and sausage, garlic bread and salad.

We had another fast moving flood, I mean rain, move through this afternoon. We are fine just very squishy. A gentle rain is good not torrential down pours. Last night a little north and east of me they had flooding. I saw on the news last night pictures of the rain just pouring down the dugout at Wrigley field. It looked like a waterfall.

Tomorrow I will grill something as the weather people promised cooler and low humidty. Oh my hair will be sooo happy.:cool1:

Glynis I'm sorry to hear about your friend's son. How incredibly sad for the parents.

I have a carmel apple pie recipe like the one you made. The pound cake sounds really good too.

Tonight I made a fantastic 4 cheese (I had a little of each so I threw it in - feta, sharp cheddar, swiss, and parmesan sprinkled on top) elbow macaroni and cheese. We also had sliced ham and some cantaloupe slices on the side.

Only 2 days of not cooking & it's bugging me already. My eyes are about to fall out of my head, Noooo, he didn't take his shirt off, you desperate women!:lmao: although he is sweating & huffing & puffing.................

:rotfl2:(HE's just pulling up the wood floor!!!)

That's all I needed to hear.....:faint: :rotfl:

Thank God you were not affected, ever since Katrina when I see flooding it just horrifies me. Stay safe!

Glynis - I have to thank you once again for the fruited rice pilaf recipe. I've been munching on it, hope there's some left for dinner!!

You're most welcome! I love it, too. I don't make it too often, because I do the same thing!

Okay, I've read through now. Glynis, I am so sorry to hear about the car accident. I, too, cannot imagine going through anything like that.

That's what they are promising here too. I really hope so. I am sitting here thinking I need my third shower of the day, and my hair is making my head look twice as big. The pic DSis posted doesn't show what my hair usually looks like. However, one of my neighbors just offered to give me her big air conditioner, as she is upgrading to central air, so maybe next heat wave, my living room won't be completely stifling.

DSis complained that the picture of the kids in my sig was too old (it was from last summer), so I changed it to one I took today at the beach.

Hey all! Dinner tonight turned out really good, so I figured I'd post it. :thumbsup2
We joined a CSA (community supported agriculture) farm this year, and got our first box of ultra-fresh fruit and veggies this week, so tonight I baked a couple of boneless chicken breasts with citrus grilling spices, and made a baked zucchini and tomato casserole sidedish:

1 large zucchini, sliced
1 medium tomato, cut in wedges
chopped fresh garlic scapes (the top part of the garlic plant; we'll get the bulbs later on)
chopped fresh scallion
chopped fresh basil
shredded cheddar and marble jack cheeses

Mix all above together, put in casserole dish. Top with parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. Bake in 350-375 degree oven for 40-45 minutes.

It was really yummy, and went very well with the citrus spiced chicken!

Well for goodness sakes we can take care of this little problem, turn the damn A/C off for a bit, that is bound to get him to slowly pull his shirt off over his head (while his vision is obstructed by said shirt... Kodak moment) then just think shirt off, no A/C ,he will start to sweat just a bit......then before anyone suspects a thing just quietly turn it back on.................................I am also pretending I didn't read that part about wife kids yada yada.....lol...........:rotfl:

Laura- Love the new pic of the kiddos!!

Hersey- Glad that the rain wasn't any worse for you!!

Glynis- love the new recipes!!!

Tomorrow is the last day of being on screech...........yesterday and today Ross had swim from 9-10 then 2-5 wrestling then straight from wrestle to Karate...yesterday that went until 8 so he was busy for 6hrs straight in 95 degree weather.....today was the same thing, but it was around 100 and humid, though he only had karate until 6:30. Tomorrow no karate at least. The poor kid is beat and banged up, lol. He is having a blast though so that is all that matters. His favorite part of wrestling so far has been when the high school boy was puking in the bucket, and when someone pointed it out to the coach he just said "well that is what the bucket is for", lol. Ross is such a boy!
I still haven't quite figured out the "stay" at home part, to being a stay at home mom though, ;) .

Dinner tonight was burgers, salad, and strawberry shortcake with fresh picked berries, mmmmm!!

You are sooooooo good!! Sheryl - listen to this woman!:lmao:

Ross' fave part was the high school boy puking in the bucket, yeah that's what the bucket's for :rotfl2: You have me in stitches girl!

Tonight I am making grilled BBQ chicken sandwiches and waffle fries :)

WFD at your house?

To me it sounds more like a "winter dish", but I'm going to try the Nacho Pie recipe for tonight! Sounds good!!!

Wow, I am away from the computer for a day and Mario's wife is on a prayer list, Kathie and Wendie are in cahoots trying to get Mario a shot as a Chippendale dancer, Ross is entertained by a kid puking in a bucket, Hersey has missed the flood and her hair is finally going back to normal, Kathy is fainting because Mario is Huffing and Puffing and Laura doesn't like liamand caili's signature.........:rotfl2:I am not going to be able to do any work becasue I cannot keep up here on the WFD!

All kidding aside,
Hersey- I have been watching the weather around the country and the flooding is terrible, thank God that you were not affected.

liamandcaili- I love the new picture. Caili is so cute and Liam is going to have the girls calling you soon!

Laura- your pictures are amazing. I cannot dress a plate so we tend to have family style here.

buckeylarue- there is nothing like home grown veggies for dinner. DD and I joined a coop one summer and we enjoyed the different produce we got to try.

Wendie- I always wondered why women who were at home were considered not to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are they kidding!

Yesterday was a long day! I was supposed to meet my sis at 9:30 at my Mom's to start getting rid of stuff in the cellar. She was 90 minutes late...took my Aunt to breakfast. That was fine, but I was there and running up and down the stairs in 90 plus heat. She was on a roll once she got there and so I was stuck there all day. Filthy does not even describe how I looked :scared:

Anyway I had one hour to get home, water my flowers shower, clean Kady up and get back to meet DD for my pedicure! It takes her longer than that just to do her hair! It is a good thing fro her that I love her becaue she almost ended up in the dumpster :rolleyes1

Today is going to be better. I have to meet my DS so that I can tell him what I need tossed out and shop for my Aunt, but that is all for today. Dinner is up in the air...we are supposed to have wicked storms this afternoon and I wanted roasters on the grill. We'll have to see.

Sorry for the long post, Lauren is not here so I am babbling enough for the two of us :dance3:

Good morning all!:surfweb: That's me this am--but my eyes aren't even that open yet!;) I worked the late shift last night and now I'm up early to babysit today. Think I'm gonna grilll up some chicken tonight and make some easy side.

Laura--love the new pic--aahh to have a beach close by, will just have to settle for the community pool!

liamsaunt--love the pic--the salad looked great!

Now all ya'll, leave Mario alone! Poor guy, if he only knew!:rotfl2:

Well Nancy, have you learned your lesson, NEVER stay away from this thread all day!!:rotfl: Please keep babbling it keeps me from missing Lauren so much.;)

Seriously, stay safe today during the storms.

Sheryl - it's gonna be really hot today, call me if you turn the A/C off, I'm only 10 minutes away!:drive:

Tonight will be an "easy" night - sloppy joes and fries!
