Hey Nancy, Laura is liamandcaili--my name is Becky. :)

I think tonight I am going to make a riff on a recipe I saw in a food magazine I was looking at yesterday (can't remember which one). Anyway, it would be ravioli with mushrooms, green peas, and parmesean. We'll see how hot it is when I get home.

Do you want to hear something funny? Tomorrow my DH has to play in his company's golf tournament...and he has never played golf in his life! He usually gets out of it because we are in the Caribbean when the tournament is held, but we went early this year so...his company actually sent out an email to everyone saying he was finally coming. He at least was able to get into the final foursome so that most people won't see his golfing "skills." :rotfl:

The only good thing that may come out of this is that I might actually be able to get him to go take golf lessons with me. I've been trying to persuade him to take lessons together for a couple of years now. I don't know how to play either but it looks like fun.

I'll bet they're all eagerly awaiting this!:lmao:

Nancy - I know I've planned this before, but I am trying the Prosciutto Pork Roast this weekend. I have a question - Are there pan juices left when it's done?

Well for goodness sakes we can take care of this little problem, turn the damn A/C off for a bit, that is bound to get him to slowly pull his shirt off over his head (while his vision is obstructed by said shirt... Kodak moment) then just think shirt off, no A/C ,he will start to sweat just a bit......then before anyone suspects a thing just quietly turn it back on.................................I am also pretending I didn't read that part about wife kids yada yada.....lol...........:rotfl:
OH! MY! GOODNESS! How soon the hormones kick in! That's ok Marrrrrio..... I've got my xray specs now!:3dglasses You've nothing to hide now miamigo!:lmao:

We had another fast moving flood, I mean rain, move through this afternoon. We are fine just very squishy. A gentle rain is good not torrential down pours. Last night a little north and east of me they had flooding. I saw on the news last night pictures of the rain just pouring down the dugout at Wrigley field. It looked like a waterfall.
Should I have DH call Southwest now and ask them to put the waterwings on the plane tomorrow? If he gets stuck I'm telling him to go and find you! At least I'll know he was fed and well taken care of....feel free to pester him to death, Lord knows I do! It lets him know I love him- and he appreciates the time away from me more because he has peace and quiet! I knew I'd figure out a way around that "homesick" thing.:rotfl2:

Anyway I had one hour to get home, water my flowers shower, clean Kady up and get back to meet DD for my pedicure! It takes her longer than that just to do her hair! It is a good thing fro her that I love her becaue she almost ended up in the dumpster :rolleyes1
:lmao: :lmao: Don't worry Kady honey, Nana loves you. Otherwise you'd be kissin' that dumpster over there!:lmao: :lmao: Hmmm, doesn't quite fit in with the image I had of you Nancy....are you Buddyizing your whole family now?:cutie:

We finally got to meet the "other one"! Hi Becky!

And Rick and I play golf, and I love it. He taught me when we first started dating. I always love being the "fill in" for outings for his work. They all liked the girl who can drive the ball- till they figured out why I play with pink colored balls....there's nothing as satisfying as watching a group of big burly guys having to play from the "pink girly" golf ball in front of everyone.:rotfl:
I even got 6 dozen golf balls sent to me for Christmas that year so I wouldn't be playing with pink anymore.:cutie:

Anyway, it really is a fun game. I hope you get to try it.

Last night dinner was a whole wheat pasta concoction. Turned out ok, nothing spectacular. Not sure about tonight. Maybe a veggie extravaganza- I have some in the fridge I need to use.

The Velvet chicken was delicious! I can't wait to try it with shrimp! My kids thought it was "too spicy" and I had even cut the cayenne pepper amount in half. Guess I'll half the half next time. I thought it was good.

Tonight I need to use up the remainder of the chicken, so I'm going to be making the bourbon chicken recipe from this thread. I'll make some brown rice to go with it, and some kind of veggie. Not sure what, though. Corn on the cob sounds good, but I'd have to leave the house to get some. Not sure I want to go out in the 100 degree day we're having here! Guess I'll figure something out.

I still haven't quite figured out the "stay" at home part, to being a stay at home mom though, ;)

:lmao: There is a car in town that has the license plate KidCar. I laugh every time I see it.

I'm glad everyone likes the new pic.

I haven't quite decided WFD yet. It's still hot here and there is severe weather coming through at some point. If it will be here later, I am going to get a piece of fish to grill. If it is sooner, we'll probably just have BLTs. Either way, I am not turning on the oven.

Hey Nancy, Laura is liamandcaili--my name is Becky. :)

Now you know my worst deficit, I cannot manage names! I was a QA analyst in a large call center for some years and one of the projects that I supported was turning out classes of 50 at a time. I was always mixing up peoples names. I knew their voices, their verbal styles, where they sat and who they were, but I never could use their names :sad2:. It was a nightmare for one year becasue they were a group of sales account managers who needed to maintain certain standards and my evaluations made a difference in their final paychecks. If they knew how I managed to use their names appropriately there would have been a mutiny!

Lori Midway was fine all the flooding was North and on the northside of Chicago. He should be fine. If you guys ever do make an overnight stay in Chicago let me know.

Looks like I'll get to grill tonight :yay:

Tomorrow I go downtown to spread my stepmom and dad's ashes. I am soo not looking forward to this. It so final, almost worst than when they died.:confused3 I know I being a big baby about this. Sorry

liamandcaili If it's the same weather that we had :duck:

OMG girl, you make me laugh! I keep thinking about a bunch of guys chasing pink balls :lmao:, all because a girl who lives to pester her man is getting a chuckle at their expense. A girl I can look up to! :thumbsup2

Lori, I would not toss Kady in the dumpster yet, it was my sister I was willing to heave over the top yesterday :rotfl2:. Kady came close when she "cooked" in the bedroom using soap, lotion, perfume, glitter, silly putty, jelly beans, old hard chocolate coins oil I use for pedicures and I am afraid what else in warm water she scarfed out of the bathroom! I was so mad that I could not say anything, I had to tell her to go away while I was washing the floor on my hands and knees while the oily wet mess just kept smearing, the smells collided and my head was pounding. The poor little thing pulled an afghan over her head and went to sleep!

She was close that day, Buddy was closer because when I called him to while he laughed and said ahe had a wild imagination...yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...my imagination went to work right about then..........

Aw Sweetie, I'll be thinking about you . You are not being a baby, you are grieving all over again, and that is worse because you don't have the protective shell, so everything is so raw. Please don't be hard on yourself.

Nancy Kady and my friends daughter would have a great time together. She made a Ice skating rink in her room. Vasoline, cotton balls glitter the whole enchilada :rotfl2:

DH's company is bidding auditing a pipline placement from downtown out 13ish miles of Halsted. I told Rick he needed to set up camp at the Courtyard downtown across from Andy's Jazz at 5. That way I can come stay and "help". Anywhere near you?

My bad! I got lost somewhere in the translation and thought it was Kady. So sorry! But now I know why Buddy's food is constantly Nanatized!:rotfl2: Imagination my foot!

Lori I am north and west of Midway in the 'western suburbs' but I have wheels so I can go anywhere. ;)

So glad you enjoyed it!:yay:

Don't apologize Janice. I am still having awful days and I can't imagine going through what you will be going through. I'll be praying for strength for you.

Nancy - Did you see my post with the pork roast question?

Nancy - Did you see my post with the pork roast question?

I'm sorry Kathy, I missed it. Yes, there were juices left. I kept adding stock if I thought it got too low. I have a convection oven and the "convection roast" seems to heat seems to have a drier heat so my liquids evaporate fast, I think. I also used chicken stock instead of wine, I don't know if that made a difference. I used the pan juice to make a gravy but the juices could have stood alone.

Thank you ma'am!;)

Kathy- I just saw your post regarding CBR. We are staying there in October for Kady's birthday. I know that it is big but we requested Martinique. DO you think that we will be close enought ot the feature pool and Old Port Royale so that this old girl won't collapse? last summer we stayed at POFQ, requested a waterview (incredible waste of money IMO) and were assigned to building one. Not bad, but one evening Kady fell asleep in front of the castle and my niece was not with Sis IL and I. I carried her all through the MK to the bus station, the ride back while the bus driver took the scenic route all through SSR, and then the trek back through the resort to the LAST building. II never want to be too far away again, I never thought that I would think Kady was heavy, but was dying that night!

We stayed at CBR many times when I was younger - twice for 2 weeks at a time. We always requested Martinique or Aruba - very, very close to OPR.

Not sure WFD yet - maybe leftover pretzel chicken and salad. :)
