Good morning everyone!

Lauren - Please take care of yourself and try and enjoy this next month. I too was wondering about your Mom, any news there?

Lindsay - I sure hope you start feeling better, things will start to turn around.:goodvibes

Nancy - I'm fluffy & poofed too!!:lmao:

Dinner tonight will be Mustard/Orange pork tenderloin, wild rice and roasted asparagus.

Have a great day!!

Today is my FILs birthday so we are going to their house for dinner. *sigh* MIL is not a very good cook so I am going to eat a big lunch. I made a pumpkin gooey butter cake (a la Paula Deen) as a surprise for my FIL. It's his favorite :)

WFD at your house?

ETA: Truly, this has been a sucks-to-be-me week. I fell getting into my car at the doctor yesterday. I am stiff and sore this morning. Sheesh, what's going to go wrong next?! :sad2:

Sounds like you need a good long vacation! Maybe some "mental health" days!

I'm glad that nothing was seriously hurt during your fall, but I'm sure you feel it this morning. Take care, ok?

Dinner tonight will be Skillet chicken with a tangy sauce. It's a new recipe, so we'll see how it turns out.

DH did the cooking last night as I had a "cooking" accident during lunch. DS was home sick from school, and I was making him soup for lunch. He loves the Cup O' Soup, so I was boiling water in the microwave, and when I pulled it out of the microwave, I spilled it all over my dominant hand. Talk about burned and blistered!!! I spent the rest of the afternoon with my hand wrapped in wet towels. Yikes! It's much better today, so I get to cook!

Hi...I am just running to my fitting but wanted to tell you guys...no more results yet for my Mom...the doctor is waiting on test results from the hospital. Thank you so much for asking and keeping her in your thoughts.

I went to the doctor today and my pressure was high...:scared: I hope its from all the pre wedding stress. Gotta go back next week for a check up... .

Lauren, Your wedding is going to be wonderful, don't stress about it, remember the wedding is just a day, and you've got those two great guys forever!!:goodvibes Hope the fitting goes well! Prayers still coming for your Mom.

Lindsay, I really hope you heal up quickly. I am still shocked that DH's face & neck were the only places he was really hurting! I don't know how he could have gone flying out of the chair onto cement & not be super sore all over. The Dr. recommended he start on Motrin/Advil immediately, so maybe that helped. If you haven't already, you might want to try that. Your cake sounds delish!

:
Dinner for us is going to be lemon grouper with parmesan couscous and sautéed zucchini and squash.

Gretchen, Lemon grouper sounds yummy, how do you fix it?

Glynis, Ouch! Glad it's better today!:flower3:

If I cook anything, (still have chicken & jambalaya left over:rolleyes: ) it will be something quick & easy. Stephanie's lettuce wraps would be a good idea! Thanks Steph!

DH & I are planning a Pirate Movie Marathon tonight to get ready for tomorrow! We pre-ordered tickets so we'll be sure to get in to see Captain Jack!

Hope everyone has a nice day!
Sheryl

Gretchen- I never worry about you laughing at me. After all this time I know that if I felt badly you would give me a cookie :lmao:

Kathy-Your recipes are so yummy, I just knew you were not a skinny size zero. I am still wonder how Giada De Laurentis can taste her food and look like that. I know her stuff is good, I have used the recipes, but I feel better when my recipe comes from Ina or Paula. I wonder why?????????

Glynis- A burn like that is terrible! Take it easy because you don;t need an infection.

Glynis - take care of that burn, I had one that got infected one time and it's not fun. Take another day off!!

Nancy - I've been fairly thin all my life, BUT I put on some "Katrina" pounds, then "the passing of Dad & Mom" comfort pounds. I'm just now starting to cut back & exercise to get it all off, but I just got a Paula Deen cookbook!!:lmao:

Gretchen, Lemon grouper sounds yummy, how do you fix it?

Basically, I lightly coat the grouper with flour and pan sautee in EVOO over medium-high heat. When the grouper is almost done, I move the fish to the side of the pan and add a little butter and some sliced mushrooms. Cook until the mushrooms are just turning soft and add a little roasted garlic, a shot or two of white wine, and lemon juice to taste. Cook until the mushrooms are soft, cover fish with sauce and simmer until the sauce thickens. The whole thing takes less than 30 minutes if you buy the already sliced mushrooms.

Or a piece of cake, or a glass of wine or some chocolate. And I agree with what you told Kathy. I don't trust a skinny chef. Just isn't natural.

Gretchen

DS and I had leftovers last night when we got back from Orlando. 14 hours with 125 fifth graders made for an interesting day. I'm still wiped out.

If I make it to the store today, we might have salmon with this new rub recipe I got in my email (FamilyFunRecipe News).

:lmao: I agree! Giada & Sandra Lee are not my kinda gals. Now Ina & Paula on the other hand....

Wow, lots going on and way too many injuries lately. I hope everyone is feeling better.

Lindsay -- My MIL isn't a very good cook either. DH and I like to say she has the Irish Cooking Gene.

Lauren -- I am sure your wedding will be wonderful. And chances are the wheel won't fall off your limo and you'll have to arrive at the ceremony in a police car like happened to DSis on her wedding day.

As for dinner tonight, I am making grilled lamb chops, roasted asparagus with garlic-parmesan vinaigrette and rice pilaf.

Thanks Gretchen, that sounds yummy. :thumbsup2 I'll try that next time I cook fish! I wish I could get a hold of some nice fresh grouper though! That only comes around every now & then, when friends go out into the Gulf.

Wow!:upsidedow After your day, I say order in & have a large adult beverage!

Lauren, all joking aside, please try to relax a little. Your wedding is going to be wonderful and the guys in your life are fine, and the cat....well he's a cat. You got no control over that. You can always build a new garage :duck:

Ya know...we were going to close up the garage door and make that a family play room...I guess major major major sterilization is in order!!! :lmao:

DH did the cooking last night as I had a "cooking" accident during lunch.

Oh gosh. I do things like this...:scared: . Please make sure its OK...are you going to the doctor? :flower3:

Why not Sandra Lee??? :stir: :drinking1 :stir: :drinking1 ???

Sounds like you need a drink!!! I don't think I would be as brave as you...:)

Oh boy! I hope nothing like that happens...at least everyone will remember how your Dsis got to her wedding!!! :)

----------

Anyway, the fitting went well. Just need a hem. I am going with a tea length.

I think I am changing my diet. I am really freaked out with my blood pressure and it may have to do with the South Beach...processed foods, salt, etc. I think I am going to stick with low sat fat, low sodium diet. My diastolic (sp) was 104!!! :scared: :scared: :scared:

So tonight will be grilled pork chops (I have them marinating in a low sodium mix of white wine, lemon juice, evoo, sage, garlic and parsley) and I will make some type of veggie and brown rice and black beans...

ETA: With Saucy Susan of course!!!

If anyone heart healthy ideas/tips please let me know. TIA!!!

I was also slim for most of my life, but something changed. It started when I stopped my cleaning business and went onto the phones. I never knew that there were so many occasions to have a pot luck dinner or to eat. Then I volunteered for third shift and did not now when it was time to eat, so I ate all the time :confused3. The I decided to stay home, and it has been all downhill from there. I have more time to cook and bake and can't seem to find time for that gym I belong to.

I am not much help. I look like a Cheesey Poof for a reason:p

Your sis knows how to make an entrance, doesn't she?

:rotfl2: You are a :stir: I love Sandra's cocktails:love: , but she's too skinny!

Okay, so she knows how to throw a party, but not only is she skinny.....she never gets anything on her clothes that match her mixer that matches her everchanging decor :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
