OMG! You may have created a monster! I'm going to the licquor control board site now to see if PA carries it.

We have it here in NJ- I guess they would drive right over the bridge into PA!
The closest place to me is in Allentown, about an hour away. I've sent an email to my brother who works in Allentown to see if he works close to the store that has it.

PA is a stupid state for wine. You can't have it shipped directly to your house and believe me, I've been writing to my state reps for years now. They don't want to lose the tax revenue. However, the problem is that you can't get some things and when they will special order for you, there are minimum quantities that you must buy. For instance, I wanted a bottle of Old Fart wine for my DH's BF's 40th birthday party. I had to buy 6 bottles because they wouldn't ship just one to my local store. So, I'm down to 3 bottles in my wine cellar because this has become my go-to gag gift for people's milestone birthdays.

So, I may have to stop in NJ to get a bottle on our way home from NYC in a few weeks.

And now... back to your regularly scheduled True Blood thread. I'm finished venting. :thumbsup2

When I saw the Cajun Dialect tape, I thought, Oh good, maybe the real actor isn't so bad with accents after all. He KNEW he was bad.

Was his accent bad? A bunch of people from Louisiana on another website swore his was the best accent on the show (all the rest are so generic and inconsistent that they don't sound like LA accents). I can't tell, never having been there.

Too bad about the Vampire wine. I have this habit of buying a bottle of red wine and drinking it while reading vampire fiction. My kids tease me mercilessly about it, but I think it's fun to set the mood for a book.

I don't know if Rene's accent was authentic, but it kept coming & going, so it sounded bad to me.

As for the Vampire wine, maybe both of you can buy a bottle & if the wine itself is bad, you can dump it out always poor in better wine just before drinking. Just to freak out the people who see you reading the vampire books. :scared1:

I thought it sounded good. Some of my biological siblings grew up in LA and one of my sisters talks just like that. Kind of mumbles and sounds like she has a mouth full of rocks. Rene sounded like that to me too.

There will be a True Blood marathon on at least 2 HBO channels (Hi-Def included,) New Years eve. All 12 episodes, starting at 6pm. I guess it's a dusk till dawn event. :rotfl: So set your alarm for 12-31 to record, Tivo, watch or whatever. :happytv: :scared1:  popcorn::

BTW: A little bit of trivia that I don't think has been mentioned: Vampire Eric, (Alexander Skarsgård) is the son of actor, Stellan Skarsgård, who played one of the dad's in Mamma Mia, and also the math professor in Good Will Hunting. It must be cool to see one's parent singing & dancing in Mamma Mia! :dance3:

Rats! I got rid of my HBO until the next True Blood season. I'm keeping an eye out for the season to be sold on iTunes. I have become so obsessed with the book series, I've read each one about 4 times.

I just watched Mamma Mia last weekend and thought about the father/son thing.

Have you read Harris' other series -- the Harper Connelly one? I just finished the first book in that series and think it's pretty good.

You might not have missed it. It wasn't on my HBO. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: They had showed a commercial for it a few days ago, then didn't air it on my HBO channel. :confused3 Did anyone get to watch it?

I finished those a few weeks ago. I enjoyed them very much. I've read all of Harris' series books. The Aurora Teagardens and the Lily Bards are good, too. I've got her 2 non-series books in my queue at the library so I can read them next.

sorry if this is old news...but it looks like Season 1 will be released on May 12! Amazon has it to preorder for $38.99! In the next few months we should find out about extras and such for the DVD! I'm so excited, I might just go ahead and preorder soon!

May?!!?? I was hoping it would come out before the next book so that I have some sort of new fix. I may have to preorder it as a Mother's day gift to myself.

I haven't read Harris' other books yet. I may read the Lily Bard's since Jack and Lily made an appearance in the Sookie books.

I was figuring the release of Season 1 would come out close to when Season 2 starts. This way they can piggyback off of each other. This also means they must have an air date set for Season 2 set! :cool1: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2:

I'm estimating maybe a month after the Season 1 DVD release... so maybe June. :scratchin

The paperback release of Harry Potter Book 7 is slated for July, along with the HP 6 movie. If HBO & the Stackhouse publishers are smart, and they seem to be, they will want to get people hooked on True Blood first, as many here have shown, the series sparks people's interest in the vampire genre books. They would want people with limited funds to buy the Stackhouse series books first over the HP books, (if there still is anyone left who hasn't read HP. :confused3 )

When TB's season was finished, it said that it would be back in June.

:wave2: I haven't read the HP books. I know I'll read them eventually, but I haven't gotten to them yet.

I just got the first book in the series from the library this weekend...I plan to start it after I finish book 2 of the Twilight series..LOL
