"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I don't like a lot on TV but I really luuuuuuuuuv this show. It's so different and addictive. :woohoo: I apologize bc I haven't had time to go through this whole thread, but when does the next season start? I can't seem to find info, did it start yet? For some reason I thought it started around now sometime. Thanks for the info!

It starts back up this summer!:cool1:

It says it in Mean Queen's link in her above post about the new season.

Woohoo! I'm on book 5. I can't wait to see more of Eric.

I just discovered these books at the beginning of March! I had never heard of them but now have only one book to finish in the series-- "All Together Dead".
Is that really the last book?
I was a huge Anne Rice fan until she got all biblical in her writing, then I unexpectedly loved the Twilight books and am delighted to have found the Sookie Stackhouse series!

"From Dead to Worse" is the last one. It is hardcover now, paperback in April. The next one, "Dead and Gone" comes out in May. The TV show does not follow the books exactly. I consider it more fan-fiction. It has many of the same characters, but the story strays from the books. But I like both.

I was thrilled to see True Blood begins on June 14th, day before my birthday! Yahoo. What a great 55th birthday gift. :cool1: :lmao: :goodvibes

I can't wait for the new book! And I can't wait for the new season!

And I think the second book is being redone, something about a TV tie-in. I wonder how different the tie-in will be from the original? Makes me wonder if I should get that, too.

Great! :thumbsup2 That means the next day - your birthday, we'll be here discussing the show. We'll have to remind everyone to bring munchies popcorn::, cake :cake:, drinks :drinking1, while we all discuss the show and celebrate your birthday. :hyper2::cool1::eek::scared1::confused::chat: :faint: :hyper2:

Ok so besides my above pet peeve, I LOVED this book. I can't wait to read the others!! I am going to buy 2,3 & 4 this weekend. I love being able to picture these actors as the characters, and they all seem to fit!

I really wish they had written "Bubba" into the story....

Wow, um Tara wasn't even in the first book?

I just read the first book and I had the same thoughts! Bubba would have been hilarious in the show, but I'm sure the copyrights and what not are outrageous.

I think a trip to Barnes and Noble is in the making tomorrow! :hyper:

Season 2 officially starts June 14! :cool1::dance3::yay::banana::cheer2::dance3:

This is according to Charlaine Harris's blog:

That is such good news! I have no TV shows to watch right now, it's sort of depressing. I was watching 24 and Lost, but I just stopped. But True Blood, I'm so excited!

Seriously?! I'm glad I'll have more to read but when I bought the boxed set I thought I had the entire Sookie Stackhouse set and that was all! Thanks:)

Most of the smaller towns do that here too...

I think the point my husband and I both shook our heads at- was when they were talking about someone getting hurt near Shreveport and going to the hospital in Monroe for it- we thought it was a little dumb to go a few hours away when shreveport (the larger of the two cities is right there- and there is no direct easy route between the two cities).

The accent thing is really bothersome- For such a small town- you wouldn't have so many different ones- and Rene's cajun accent is way too fake- most younger people even with strong cajun accents do not sound anything like that- and the southern twangs were off too- most were just a little too twangy for that area- it can sometimes be overlooked- and the story seemed a little interesting- but I was wondering if I was supposed to laugh at some parts that may not have meant to be funny

I didn't think it was totally horrible- and I didn't read the books- so I don't know any of the back story- just what I saw from the first episode
I just finished reading the books and (today) turned HBO back on to watch the remaining episodes of True Blood, but I watched all the episode trailers on HBO. I totally agree with you on the accents. They're awful! I realize I do have a southern accent, but it doesn't sound like anything like these. The cajun accent is dreadful.

Steel Magnolias was the same way. So is every movie/show set in New Orleans. That is a very distinctive dialect/accent, and not in any way a typical southern accent.

I can't comment on the actual shows yet. I'll watch my first this weekend. From watching the previews it seems the show is quite different from the books, but I've seen several people here say they're sticking pretty close so I'm anxious for Saturday to get here!

I know it is so frustrating. My accent is closer to Brooklyn than Southern/Cajun.

Yikes, now I am confused...I just found another thread on the books....is this one just for the show?

Sorry I bumped them both up. This one is the show and I think the other one was started so people who'd read the books could talk about them without spoiling things here.

Anyone else can't wait until this starts up again :cool1:
I was late getting on-board, but, have now watch all episodes and can't wait to see what happens next!
Anyone know who was in the car? I'm also wondering if the girl (the one Bill made a vampire) will cause problems with him and sookie?

I think she is going to be a "thorn" in everyone's side!:lmao: She is great :rotfl2:

ETA- I LOVE the spider in your siggy! I wish I had some room to add it to mine!

When does it start up? Alot of my shows are in final now.

I thought I read here June 14th? I hope so b/c I can't wait!

I can't keep track of my shows anymore- which ones are ending and which are starting! US of Tara had their season finale, but this past Sun The Tudors started- what ever happened to Sept- all the new shows start:rotfl2:

I am little mad b/c I have been craving some True Blood (the show! hee hee) I watched an episode this weekend, and wanted to see more, however, the first season is not even ON DEMAND yet. :guilty:

Has anyone seen the thread on the CB about those who did not like the movie Twilight? We were laughing b/c the "new" vamps only "sparkle" when the sunlight hits them.
