"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

Please pardon my sudden intrusion into your discussion but since I have a promotional copy of book one I thought I'd answer.

Amy Burley is first mentioned on page 244, as a good replacement for the dead waitress Dawn, she dies off screen shortly after, and is never actually seen in Dead Until Dark. It is mentioned that she seemed to have a secret agenda when she met Jason, and it is implied that she drugged his drink during the date in order for Rene to play a dirty trick on him because she was jealous of all the women Jason had slept with.

You're no intrusion. Welcome to the DIS & to the thread, MrLost. :welcome:

Feel free to join in on the discussion. :hyper2: You've got a copy of book, even better. :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Thank you! I really wish I hadn't given my book back to the book store for money. I've enjoyed going back and rereading the books to see if I catch any hints in the early books about what happens later.

I don't WANT it to end!

Me neither. What are we supposed to do when we go into withdrawal? :hyper:

How long does it usually take for an HBO series to come back? I know The Sopranos was a little diferent as they had to shoot around James Gandolfini's movie filming schedule. But what about other series, like Six Feet Under & Entourage?

It seems like Big Love is taking forever to come back!!! I cannot remember how long it took Six Feet Under or even Entourage:confused3 (which is NOT that great right now IMO)

BUT! I was saying to DH- MAYBE, since the series is based on a book, they already know which way to go with the story! Is that just wishfull thinking ?? :guilty:

10 minutes!

All East Coasters meet here afterwards for the gab session. :scared1:  :chat: :hyper2:  :sad2: :chat: :thumbsup2 :scared1: :hyper2: :chat:

West Coasters: Stay away! Better yet, stay off line till you see it. :hourglass (You know you'll want to peek in. :magnify: )
Even if you read the book, the finale might be different.

Summer!!! It wll be back in the summer!:yay: That is not too bad!

I thought the last episode was great! But it wrapped up the killer drama pretty quick!

I don't think there was really a :scared1: OMG cliff hanger, but I think they gave us a few things to think about until the new season starts:scared1:

BTW- I think that was Lafayette foot that came out of the car door- they might be trying to fool us with the nail polish:rotfl2:

AND- was that Bill that went after Lafayette?

Summer! SUMMER!!! That's like seven months away! :badpc:

I was thinking the same thing. But then when Jessica showed up & talked about how hungry she was, I thought maybe she went after Lafayette. I don't think Bill would have gone and fed on one of Sookie's friends.

Speaking of Bill... he's so sexy!    I want him kissing my bruises. :faint:

Also, I really like Eggs! Looking forward to some more of that next season. :hyper:

That's a blink of an eye for an HBO show. I'm thrilled! I thought we'd have one of their famous 18 month waits. As for Big Love, it's been about that long, hasn't it? I don't think we've seen it since spring of 07.

Well, that was kinda anti-climatic.

I also thought that too. :(

I wonder if they didn't know that they were going to be picked up until after they filmed the last episode. That "Two weeks later" bit could have totally been left out. It was like an epilogue.

I kind of would have prefered wondering if Bill was okay, is he coming back? Some type of cliffhanger for the upcoming season, a bit more than the foot in the car.

I don't think it would of been Jessica since she was hand delivered to Bill by Eric and what's her face..

As for the toe nail polish, in one of the last 2 episodes they showed Layfette painting his nails :guilty: I can't believe he's dead.. I really liked him.. I'm hoping he is drunk or passed out in the car and not really dead

Oh and Jason, going to church.. made me laugh.. :rotfl:

Poor Sam, he is so upset about Sookie and how happy she is with bill.. When he opened up the save to all that Ca$h.. WOW  but who is that lady? She knew Sam is a dog and she did that whole weird shocking type thing when meditating.. :confused3

That was Pam. What the heck was she wearing? My great-aunt wore stuff like that! :p

But didn't they say how uncontrolable Jessica was? I think, like a typical teenager, she probably snuck out a lot & was unruly & draining the townspeople & stuff.

Someone PLEASE tell me Arlene gets together with the adorable guy suffering from PTSD?! (I can't remember his name!) I really like his character, even though he's a tad quirky. The scene in a previous episode, where he's with Detective Belfour, and spots Sam, stands up and starts doing all those hand signals kills me. :lmao:

And LAFAYETTE?! WHY!? He was my favorite character on the show. :sad2:

I hope Terri and Arlene get together too!
I want to know the connection between sam and that woman. I forget her name already.
I only read book 1 so far.
SPOILER sentence in white
That is Lafayettes foot in the car. I know he is dead in book 2, so I assume that is him.

I was almost crying when bill came out in the sunlight, my hubby was looking at me like:rolleyes1 .......I was sooooo happy when he was ok!! LOL
I knew bill was in book 2 but I wasn't sure if the show would change all that, thankfully they didn't whew!!!!!!

I finally figured out what other show I have seen maryann in..........Homicide Life on the Street, she was the doctor.
gggeeeezzz that was driving me crazy.

That is Lafayettes foot in the car...

OK, Please no more who dies spoilers for those of us who haven't read the books. :(

Put them in the white font, like others did previously in the thread please.

That was Pam. What the heck was she wearing? My great-aunt wore stuff like that! :p

It's kind of a running gag in the book that when Pam isn't working at Fangtasia in her sexy goth attire, she dresses extremely conservatively and looks like a totally different person.

I did crack up when I saw Rene's copy of "Learn the Cajun Dialect" in the box of videos--especially after listening to everyone complain about his accent here. :lmao:

And I really thought when Bill ran out into the sunshine to save Sookie that they were veering away from the book and we were going to get totally rid of Bill at the end of Season 1. Rats. ;) I don't remember them healing that quickly in the book.

That was Pam. What the heck was she wearing? My great-aunt wore stuff like that! :p
In the books, Sookie always thought it was funny/quirky that Pam would wear goth clothing at Fangtasia and then she'd wear pastels when she wasn't working. Every time I see her in her "not woriking" attire, I think of the books. She was in pastels on the night Longshadow got staked, too.

I liked how Rene died in the show. I thought that was pretty cool, especially after he'd been kicking a dog.

Boy, have they changed the maenad's role! I can't remember her speaking more than a grunt in the books. I'm interested to see what she and Sam know about each other on the show and what her ticking was about. Was she channeling the pig?

Glad to finally meet Eggs, too. He'll be a fine addition to the party if it should occur at MaryAnn's house next season.

I wonder if someone will try to implicate the senator in Lafayette's death since he played a prominent role in this season and actually met some of Lafayette's friends.

The Fellowship of the Sun guy who visited Jason was just as creepy as I'd picture FotS people to be.

I'm glad to see that they finally mentioned Andy's sister, Portia, last night. Hopefully, we'll meet her next season, too.
