"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

yay...yes very big Congrats to Anna on her win at the Golden Globes...she looked great and her speech was wonderful!!

Aww! I missed it. I had the TV off. I'm glad she won! :cool1: :yay:  :cheer2:

Was she sitting next to Stephen Moyer? Did they walk the red carpet together? Did they look like they still a couple?

Oh, and was my man, George Clooney at the Golden Globes tonight?

yes they were sitting next to each other...I"m not sure about the Red Carpet because I kept seeing them being interviewed separately...but they did kiss when she won!

Here is a free download for a Vampire/Romance ebook. :surfweb: Now before you get too excited, it is NOT a Stackhouse book, or an Ann Rice book, or even, I suppose, :confused3 one of the better vampire books. It is a Harlequin paranormal romance book. As I don't read any vampire books, I don't know how their stories stack up to regular vampire books.

But free is free, :cool1: and as people are huddling inside nowadays because of the weather, :cold: I figure it's good for a try.

Harlequin Romance is celebrating it's 60th anniversary by giving away free ebook downloads. www.harlequincelebrates.com. I checked out the page and downloaded several books in PDF and read a couple already. There is no catch. You don't even have to register for anything. It's a straight download. The types of downloads are in digital formats including: Adobe PDF, eReader, MS Reader, & ePub.

They also have 15 other Harlequin Romance books in a variety of other romance genres that can be downloaded. I actually like Harlequin's romantic suspense genre for quick, easy reads. The files are about 2 MB and take only a few seconds each to download. :thumbsup2

The Vampire book is: Kiss Me Deadly by Michele Hauf. It's the fourth one from the left.
It looks like this:

Here's the book description:
Kiss Me Deadly by Michele Hauf:

Death cocktail is what the vampires call a witch’s blood. It’s poisonous—a drop will destroy a vampire within minutes. Nikolaus Drake is the rare vampire who has survived his first taste. Now he’s on the hunt for the witch who almost brought him to his demise—Ravin Crosse.

A witch who spends her nights hunting vampire tribes, Ravin has three obligations to fulfill to set her soul free. One of those obligations—crafting a love spell—twists her world upside down when Nikolaus draws the spell from her veins. Natural enemies rarely make the best bedfellows—but is it possible their intentions are really, truly the same? Can Nikolaus’s tribal loyalty survive if he surrenders to desires far darker than his own?

Happy reading! :coffee:

Thanks Imzadi!:wave2:

I hope you do not mind that I posted this over on the freebie thread- I am sure they will enjoy this too!

Ok so I am reading Dead Until Dark. I really love it. I have one very large pet peeve. In Louisiana we don't have counties, so Jason is a PARISH worker, not a county worker.

That is all, carry on. ;)

I read the first book a few weeks ago (after reading how much everyone likes it and the new series). Dang...I was hoping to love it. It really left me unimpressed. Harris' style is leaps and bounds above say Stephenie Meyer, but I found her characters so unrelatable. I pictured Sam to be older...think Sam Elliot or Peter Fonda. Perhaps that's why I had such a problem with the triangle o' love.

argh...I couldnt' put the books down...I read through the entire series in less than a week.
see I guess I saw Sam as obviously older than Sookie but maybe only late 30s or early 40s at the most. By far, as far as the books are concerned my favorite character is Eric...he is a riot!

lol. well of course not...there are some dead(haha) sexy scenes involving him... :faint: :hyper:

Shower! ::yes:: :thumbsup2 :blush: :faint:

Since I saw the show before reading the books, I always pictured the known characters as they were in the show. And I really like the guy who plays Sam, so I could see the attraction.

Ok so besides my above pet peeve, I LOVED this book. I can't wait to read the others!! I am going to buy 2,3 & 4 this weekend. I love being able to picture these actors as the characters, and they all seem to fit!

I really wish they had written "Bubba" into the story....

Wow, um Tara wasn't even in the first book?

Tara is nothing like the character on the show. I had to picture someone totally different for the book. Otherwise, the show was right on with casting. I like the book Tara much more.

So I have now read the first 4 books:goodvibes . I have to say I never got why so many of you were so head over heels for Eric.....

Until I read Dead to the World. :faint: :bitelip: :hyper:

Spoiler Alert:
I need to go and buy book 5, but please someone tell me that we get to see Sookie and Eric "together" again???!!!!

I don't like a lot on TV but I really luuuuuuuuuv this show. It's so different and addictive. :woohoo: I apologize bc I haven't had time to go through this whole thread, but when does the next season start? I can't seem to find info, did it start yet? For some reason I thought it started around now sometime. Thanks for the info!
