"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

When I first turned it on it was when they were watching the sex movie. I thought had turned on the wrong channel. I was like wow those vampires do get freaky dont they?:lmao:

I LOVED True Blood! I can't wait to see tonights second episode. I bought "Dead Until Dark" yesterday. I'm looking forward to reading it!

After seeing the second show last night, I have to say Bill is hot in a brooding sort of way. I am liking the show so far.

I am mad every time the dog shows up. Was he even in the first book?

I also don't like Tara being so rapt up in the story. I'm wondering how they'll work in the party that comes later in the book if Sookie knows everything that is going on in Tara's life. I wonder if Tara will be at "that" party at all. :confused3

Otherwise, it's right in line with the book and I'm enjoying it very much. One of my friends called last night at 8:59. I told her I'd call her back this morning because my favorite show was coming on... plus Entourage after it. I didn't tell her that I was DVRing it. I wanted my vampire fix NOW! :thumbsup2

We've been watching it. We like it. So far.

I really like it. Based on a couple of previews, I was afraid it might be too lighthearted, but I should have known better with Alan Ball at the helm! I'm looking forward to seeing more.

I'm going back and forth with wanting to read the books. I haven't read the books with Dexter because I don't want any spoilers for the series. But on the other hand, I love seeing good books brought to life -- as long as they're well done.

For those who have read the books, what do you recommend?

I'm doing the same thing! I'd love to read the books, but I don't want to spoil the series by thinking "Hey! That's not like in the book!"

I do like the show, but some of the foreshadowing is more like hitting you over the head with a dog bone. Again, I haven't read the book, but does anyone else see how they keep showing that Sam and the dog are "related?" He asked Sookie something that only Bill and the dog were around to hear and they even show a picture on his wall of the dog and a little blonde girl.

I'm still torn as to whether Bill is hot or just creepy. Which I guess is what the director is going for, so they're doing a good job.

Next week should be interesting.

They've been true to the books with the exception of Tara and the dog. I didn't read Silence of the Lambs until just last month because I didn't want to ruin the movie with the book. I knew the book would be better but I loved the movie. It didn't ruin anything and it helped to explain some of the lesser explained points in the movie. While parts were changed for the film version, I thought it was well done.

So far, the books and show have been true to each other. I'm looking forward to seeing what they're going to do with Tara and to find out why they introduced the dog so soon.

I love the sexual tension between Sookie and Bill. I think they're capturing that on film very well. Can't you just picture him as a southern gentleman from 1865?

:lmao: That's what I luv about vampires- they are freaky!!:thumbsup2

DH and I went for a cycle ride yesterday and I just ordered a bunch of new stickers for my helmet- one says "Peace, Love Vampires"! I had to be sure to slap that one on for the ride!

I did not watch True Blood last night- I did DVR it- but, I have a good excuse for not watching- I was watching 30 Days of Night. I can't stand that twit Josh Hartnett, ugh- he is so wishy-washy, I was hoping the vampires would have done him in within the first 5 minutes of the moive, but no such luck :lmao:

Hopefully I will catch TB tonight.

We are also watching and love it so far. I have never read the books and I don't plan too until the series is over. I don't want to know what is going to happen next- it kind of spoiles it for me.

I am in lust with Bill. He is so smokin. That is what I have always pictured a vampire to be/look like, not Tom Cruise as Lestat- that was horrible in my opinion!

For those of you that haven't read the books, I had heard that the first season of True Blood will be based on the first book. That being said, I did notice that there's been alot of foreshadowing already from some of the rest of the series. I just finished book #3 last night-what a cliff hanger! I was going to wait to read book 4 (I'm reading a different book series now) but I don't know if I can wait  . I read that there's a good Eric scene in book 4-I love Eric :lovestruc .

I haven't finished watching last night's episode yet (it's on my DVR) but did anyone notice the National Enquirer on someone's kitchen table had a headline "Angelina Jolie adopts vampire baby"?:rotfl: :rotfl:

I loved that movie- I would prefer my vampires to look like Louis though, not Lestat:cool1:

OK- or I can just imagine Johnny Depp with some vampire teeth- that will do it for me!:worship: :thumbsup2

:lmao: That is hilarious! I will certainly look for that when I watch Episode 2!:rotfl2:

I did! I was laughing. It was real quick as the camera panned over the table, but the writing was big so you can easily see it. :rotfl2:

I agree with both of these things. I liked Louis far more than Lestat. Tom Cruise with that awful wig was not the Lestat I pictured when reading Interview with a Vampire.

I think Johnny Depp would make a wonderful vampire. I keep hoping that something will come around for him so he can play a vampire.

He IS supposed to play Barnabas Collins in the remake of Dark Shadows!

We have heard rumors about this for almost a year now, and we just heard HORRIBLE news! - TIM BURTON has signed on! I am SO disappointed that that will mean JD will end up looking like a freakish Edward Scissorhands with fangs instead of a sexy Louis in the movie!:sad2:

Can you tell, I can't stand Tim Burton:rotfl2: I tell everyone this- CUT THE TIES BOYS!

This had me elated until i read about Tim Burton. You're right. Weird, freakish vampire. Not at all the type JD should be playing. :sad2:
