WDW and Universal. Who wins?

Okay and what they built is.....not great. Their latest 2 additions are cheap overlays that 1000% would've been hated across the board if they opened in a Disney owned park.
I'm not quite sure which attractions you're thinking of but at least for Fast and Furious it's pretty much universally (no pun intended) panned. I have no idea why they didn't do a rollercoaster like I think they were rumored to do (I know they are doing that at USH). I thought it was corny but not in the cutesy way and I was so excited for it too and bummed when it got slightly delayed which meant we missed it on our 2017 trip. I mean it's a ride I can tolerate as far as going on it but coming from someone who enjoys the franchise (however far they've jumped the shark at this point) it was a letdown for sure. That attraction was like them saying they wanted the franchise but then thought of a way cheap way to do it.

On the plus side I'm pretty sure the executives are aware of the reception and I doubt there will be much love lost if they choose to replace that pretty quick. Weird to think it's been around for more than 6 years at this point.

If you're talking about Bourne Stuntacular I think they did that one well although it can suffer from technical issues. But it was a good usage of space.

Like I said it just seems very convenient, especially whenever something is in question the CM comes to settle the matter.

I can’t help how you feel about my comments, I like to think of them as challenging assertions that I don’t agree with. If you find that negative there’s not much I can do from my end.
It might be better if you try something other than "I can't help how you feel", you're in control of what you choose to say and how you say it we all are. You've spent multiple days engaging with every poster while claiming you're just trying to combat the negativity but all your comments are about is negativity. I am completely down with opposing viewpoints but you've made the claim that you just see negativity and it turns out that's all you are about. You're not trying to present the other side of the coin you're calling them liars and throwing out other insults like you're ordering lunch casually. You can talk about other things if you're really concerned about the negativity but you're not choosing to do so and you're invalidating and dismissing people...again.

Would you like it better if someone used the term "insider"?

I'm referring to Villain Con and Dreamworks Land. I'm not saying either one is awful but they are both cheaply done.

Some of us know several CM’s, in several areas. CM’s often move around so they hear from friends in other areas.
Exactly. My DISer friend has been working for Disney since 2019 and has moved from transportation where they started to attractions and in attractions has been in multiple places in different parks. I've known them for a few years prior to them being a CM as well. My other DISer friend their daughter was a CM. There was a prior mod as well who was a CM and so on.
For sure there are CMs with irrefutable knowledge, but the rest is just hearing 2nd, 3rd, 4th account of what's being passed on. The phrase "getting information from the Disney bus driver" didn't just come from nothing.

Ahhh...I have yet to experience those. I can believe that they didn't spent huge globs of cash on Dreamworks land. I think having Epic imminent probably influenced that. I wouldn't give a pass to them if they were just working on another area of the existing theme park at the same time that would be worse but I guess with working on a new theme park I can agree with the critique but not being super hard on them either.

you are correct, I am totally in control of what I’m posting. I’m not apologizing for it. My posts typically come in when someone posts something negative with either suspicious or downright incorrect information. I can see why people who are being challenged would consider it negative, but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to let it go unchecked.

I feel like too many negative viewpoints go unchecked on these boards so I figure I’ve got a phone and a couple minutes so I might as well call it the way I see it

You can call the CM/ insider whatever you’d like, that doesn’t mean I have to buy it, it’s not the choice of name I take issue with

I'd like Villain Con better if they had vehicles like Buzz Lightyear. Thankfully, people were keeping a decent distance from each other on the conveyor belt, otherwise I could see guests accidentally whacking each other with the guns.

But your answer is to be negative all the time and also proactively be negative? That doesn't make sense. Originally you expressed you were trying to be the other voice but if that were the case you would try to bring positivity into the discussion or divert the discussion to some other topic that was less negative. Not feed into the negativity, that makes you part of the problem but now the ringleader.

Of course you don't have to agree with CM things but most people don't try and call people liars. The fact that people do know CMs (and smugpug for example knows I am telling the truth) is not a lie. I am known for sometimes posting parts of our chats too (omitting personal details), but when some other poster says they know a CM I trust them based on the 9 years I've been on the boards; unfortunately there was a mass exodus of DISers in 2021 (prior to you joining if looking by your join date) so if you had happened to venture to other parts of the boards you'd also encounter a lot too

It being on a moving conveyer belt rather than having vehicles is part of the cheapness. They didn't do many alterations to the old Shrek 4D building. It's probably the worst of the shooter style attractions in Orlando and it doesn't help that USF has a way better one (Men in Black).

It's actually the one with the most replayability once you learn how it works. Where they failed is explaining to the one time guest how it works.

So if I see something I disagree with I should change the topic or be “positive”? That to me is just letting things go without challenging them, something it seems you are unwilling to do as well
I’m also not against negativity and I’m not trying to be, I’m more trying to combat IMO unfounded negativity about Dis

No, it's about not being dismissive and insulting while doing so.

If you don't like the direction of the conversation, which is what you keep writing about, you can comment on something else to divert (or try to) to something different. However, if you want to just go after every poster for what they are saying that's just adding and creating what you tell people you are tired of.

What's something you love about Disney and something you love about Universal, try that for a switch of topics instead. What's your go to place at both parks to relax, try that for a switch of topics. You can disagree ( ;) ) on someone's answer to those questions if you want.

Or, (and hear me out because this is going to sound crazy) as people are having those types of conversations on a public forum I can chime in and disagree.

That doesn't make it a good ride lol

For how massive the Minions are, having 2 mediocre rides based off of them is not great.
I think they stopped doing the parade right? That had minions in it. I'm trying to think what it was call, like a dance party or something? That showcased minions a lot IIRC

I'm one of those 1-time guest.....and it's not just because of not understanding how it works. It was the most confusing, chaotic, sensory overload mess of a 'ride' I've ever been on. I spent most of it hoping it would just end so that I could get out of there....instead I was stuck in room after room standing uncomfortably holding a giant heavy gun trying not to throw up, couldn't even look at the screens, and had my head ducked down/hat over head trying unsuccessfully to block all of the flashing chaos. There is nothing that could ever get me to enter that disastrous mess again!

I'm not a huge fan of the shooters as I find all of them confusing, except for some reason toy story mania, but villians con was......just bad all around. I'll ride Men in Black again even though I'm confused and don't know what I'm shooting at, but villians con = nope.

I'll ride Men in Black again even though I'm confused and don't know what I'm shooting at,
If it helps while I know what I'm supposed to be shooting at I can't say I'm amazing at it for MIB. If you've seen MIB before the premise ties to his test in the first film. Admittedly though the scoring isn't something that makes as much sense to me on the ride itself.

I think TSMM is probably the most straight forward of those types of rides but you're also put close to the targets and done scene by scene, scoring is easy and enough variations to each game that if you're not good at one scene you could be good at another. Buzz you can understand easily enough too but you're not quite as close and it can lead to misses more.

I have trouble processing non-text visual information (pictures/scenes/etc.), so on something like MIB, I believe I'm supposed to be shooting at aliens...but I can't actually see/find any to shoot at except for the dead obvious. Then I'm always unsure which area of the target to aim at. By the time I've actually noticed a target, processed that it's there, and found where to aim.....the cart is already too far away to shoot it. I also had difficulty on Buzz for this reason.

I think the fact that TSMM is so close and focused on the targets, as well as has separate scenes helps a lot. It's also very organized in how the targets are laid out so is easy to find/follow what to shoot at.
