THE OFFICIAL Taylor Hicks Discussion Thread

oh woe is me to be stuck at work! thank goodness I set up the DVR this morning for Regis & Kelly!

I have a kink in my shoulers and neck this morning...you think Taylor would come by and give me a neck rub while singing "You Are So Beautiful" to me?? :teeth:

He is sooo growing on me- I've been rooting for him since the audition! He did seem a bit drained this morning on R&K but I think he still did a good job.

Why is there so much attention on Kat these days? I wasn't as into AI as I was this past season but other than Clay, I don't recall #2 getting as much attention. They were both on Larry King last night as well!

OK I rewatched Taylor on Regis during my break and it wasn't all that bad... just a couple of spots :goodvibes AND I still love him .... he can do no wrong in my eyes  and he must be so tired of interviews.
Did anyone.... and excuse me if this has been mentioned before, I just found this thread.... but did anyone catch Taylor and KAT on Larry King Live last Friday night? Ryan was filling in for Larry King as host and Randy Jackson was also there. Good show but I got so sick of KAT jumpimg in on EVERY question... answering FOR Taylor occasionly .... like let somebody else talk will ya? I wanted to crawl into my TV set and smack HER ....:confused3 LET MY MAN (OK OUR MAN) SPEAK" She even tried to cut off Ryan... looked a little foolish at some moments :rolleyes2

There is a long thread on the AI boards about this. Yes, they do interviews with the top two for the first few weeks... I think this year it's more debated due to the way Kat performs during the interviews.

Hey-
Looks like perhaps they're getting the Regis and Kelly video up on GrayCharles, but I'm not getting it to work at the moment. Maybe in a few minutes.

Guess I really *should* be working though.

OK fellow Hicks luvvers, I need some support. Everybody IRL tells me I'm crazy.

I mentioned this before and I'm so sorry for the repeat, but here's the whole story:

DS, 10 has had zero days absent from school this year. I told him that if he makes it to June with perfect attendance, I will let him play hooky one day and we'll do an outing of his choice. His choice, as always, is a day in NYC. In choosing the day, I peeked at the Today show schedule and on Thursday, Taylor and that tagalong girl will be performing.

I've been to the Today show before and I know the setup. It's a tight spot. I also know that people arrive early....very early. My problem is, it looks like I'm not going to arrive til close to 7:00 am - and that's with hopping on the 4:30 am bus! Driving myself isn't an option because...it just isn't. Our van is getting old, you name it. 4:30 is the first bus.

So I'm taking a chance that we'll even get a view at all. So what would you die-hard Hicks fans do? Would you bag it and sleep in a little longer? Or would you fuel up with coffee at 3:00 am and hope for the best? How much do you love him? I'm still deciding!

DS is totally into this, BTW, or else I'd never drag him along. It is his day.

Hmmmm......I'm the type that if I can't get there early enough to get a good spot, I just won't go. I see no point in being 5 miles away with a crowd of screaming people breathing all over me just to see the tops of everyone's head. The show starts at 7am, so you'd have to judge how far away you'd actually be and whether it would be worth it to you. On the other hand, if you DID go at 7am and found that it wasn't worth it to stand there because you weren't going to see anything, you'll still have an early start in NYC. You could just leave and get breakfast somewhere and start your NYC day.

I hate concerts. Seriously...hate them. DH ended up calling the arena where I'm going to see the concert and shelled out $$$ to get us a box. I was so happy. He said since I would be only a few weeks post-surgery it was worth it. I told him not to bother, but he knew how much I wanted to see Taylor live. So, I guess I'm willing to go to extremes, but that's just because I have no patience. :goodvibes

Is there any way you could go the night before and spend the night so you could get there early?

Man, I wish you were MY Mommy... :p

If I was still in NY I'd be there with BELLS on!! When's the last day of school there? My son's last day was Friday.

As long as he doesn't have a big final and he can make up his work... you GO girl!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

This is a GREAT idea! Can you do that, ckay?

Has anyone heard it on the radio yet? I'm in NYC - what station is you did?

Thanks!!!!

That's probably because people are getting a good look at her personality and deciding they don't like her very much. :) I think she's turned off a lot of people with her snotty 'tude.

I have a co-worker that reminds me of Katharine... talented (a singer, also) BEAUTIFUL, the whole nine yards...

That's why I was sooo confused as to WHY she had no real people in her life. She's 43, never married, not in any real relationships, no children, no prospects and, most importantly, no friends. This was confusing to me until... I got to KNOW her.

She insists that the world REVOLVEs around her. She is selfish, self centered and bored as heck when the conversation is not about her. I was completely turned off in a matter of days and I've seen MANY people fall to the wayside around her. She's easy to be attracted to but after you find out her character... well, the rest is obvious.

Not that I know Kat but I know her TYPE... it's people poison.

Na - this "little outing" will end up costing me a couple hundred bucks! I just can't - we're off on vacation in 2 weeks, ya know?

Anyway, I did find a different bus that will get me into town at 6:10. Should be able to hustle over to Rock Center by 6:30.

It would just kill me to be in town that day and not at least try to get there. Hopefully I'll have something to report back. Be sure to watch Thurs morning - look for a little boy with long blond hair yelling "Soul Patrol" (he's trained) and throwing tomatoes...not at Taylor. :rotfl:

I assured the Soul Patroler's on the AI board that you would be "representing"!

Robin, just so you know, I am not stalking you, it's that picture!

Jill...who has nothing new to say but just wanted to look at Taylor's pictures! :teeth:

I am listening to Taylor RIGHT NOW!!! :thumbsup2 How, you say? Well, thanks to my Very Best Friend (Christine) Mickey's Sunshine, she "burned" ALL of Taylors Songs from AI on to a C/D for me!!! :thumbsup2 Isn't that just wonderful? :teeth: Well, for me anyway! THANKS A BUNCH Christine! Yea, jammming with MY MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy Soul! He's gonna do the Early Show on Thursday also, just a few blocks away. Change my name to CKay the Stalker! :cool1:
