ok, i guess i could deal with a couple days, just to avoid the gruling task of going thru all my mail when i get back. i HATE that part!!!

Hey dadog - don't worry about negative reviews. This will be my third time at the Poly. Was everything perfect each time? No, but it got fixed and I tried to not let it ruin my time there. You will love the Poly. Have a special drink, watch Wishes from the beach and enjoy being at Disney.:thumbsup2

M I C K E Y -- did you make that poly mickey ear thing for your siggy? do you mind if i borrow it?It is really cute! But, if not, i understand .. thanks! :)

Hi Caitsmama,

Yes, I did make that logo and you're welcome to use it (and any other Polynesian fans out there). We only have a week or so until arriving at the Polynesian, and will be sporting brown t-shirts with that logo on them.

Enjoy!

Hi everyone!!! I am very excited about our upcoming trip!!!!:goodvib
We just booked a LVC room for this coming Labor Day and I read through quite a number of pages in this thread but couldn't find any trip reports where someone stayed in a 2nd floor room with no balcony.
Does anyone ever request these rooms, are they different in any other way?
Also, do the sliding doors open or are they locked?
Thanks for any info!!!

Good questions - I'm really curious also. When we booked Poly for our trip this coming Nov, the only request that I put on my ressie was that I would like to have a balcony or patio. I would hate to pay that much & not have that area outside to sit on when the kids go to bed. I'm really worried that I'll get stuck w/ one of the rooms on the 2nd floor w/ no balcony. I got the complete opposite of my request at CSR last year, so I worry about that now. I know - no guarantees of requests being granted, but still.... Would be nice!

I stayed at the Poly last August and booked a GV room, made no requests. When we checked in the CM told me my room # and I asked if it had a balcony. She said no it did not. I then asked if there were any rooms with a balcony available, she looked, there was and she gave it to us with no problem.

Anyone know what this means?

I just read over my confirmation letter to see what it had listed as requests (don't know why I didn't look it over before!)
It has "Please note: Req Samoa or Takelau buildings Please note: Not GRT"
Huh? What's GRT?

I believe the doors open and there is enough room to stand. Other than that, there is no difference in the actual room. Have a great time!!! Believe it or not, some people prefer this with little ones!

Two years ago we stayed LVC. I requested 1st floor but when I saw the room, I realized that there was a big bushy tree completely blocking the view of the castle (room 1513 BTW). I asked the CM for a room with a better castle view. He looked in the computer and told me that a room with a great castle view was available but it was on the 2nd floor. He showed me the room and he was right...great view (room 2507 BTW). I really thought I would not like the 2nd floor due to not having a balcony but I was wrong. First of all it was great being on the same floor as the lounge. I also liked being so close to the lounge. Last year we were on the 1st floor, 2nd room from the end and I hated being that far from the lounge. Only drawback for 2nd floor that I found was that at night the windows would sometimes get fogged up from the hot, humid Florida air outside and the cool AC'ed air inside. This happens on all 3 floors of course, but with no patio or balcony to walk out to. This would make watching the fireworks difficult so I would frequently have to wipe the window off with a towel. BTW, the window does slide open.:)

We will be in the RapaNui building for our December trip...that does seem to be a sure thing as we have a wheelchair user in our family. I "requested" an upper floor room, but didn't ask if there was a balcony. Does anyone know if RapaNui has balconies?

hey guys
does anyone know the name of the current manager at poly? do you know the poly address too?

According to the Tiki Man's website, the 2nd and 3rd floors have balconies. Maggie

add me to the Poly list, we just booked for 11 glorious days at the Poly for Christmas!!! I am beyond excited but know nothing about the Poly. So without reading 154 pages tell me everything!!!! LOL
I'm seriously considering printing this thread to read at my leisure.
