The easiest way would be to go to the front desk or in your case the Concierge desk and get a printout of your total so far. It takes literally seconds to do and gives you a detailed list of what you bought and where you bought it. I did mine about half way through my stay last week and it gives you a good indication of where you're at spending wise. On my first trip to the Poly in 02 my wife and I got quite the shock when we checked out and learned about doing this to keep our spending in check.

Thanks Eddie I will def keep that in mind when we stay at the RPC at the GF later this month.
My point was more that I didn't realize this had to be done. I'm very happy splurging while im on vacation and not paying attention to how much i spend. Yes, i do regret it later but I enjoy it while I'm there./

That monday was our first full day and we were at the MK but we probably saw you as we usually stopped in the lounge for a drink before heading back to the room. We were wearing our orange braclets but didnt see any others wearing them.
Yes Allison was away until wednesday. Before we left for WDW I asked her if we would see her while we were there and she left me a message on our room phone to have them page her so we could introduce ourselves to her but I didnt get the message right away and never had the chance to meet her. She absolutely did a wonderful job for us too. She would be a big reason I would choose to stay Poly club level again.

We still had our orange bracelets on, on Monday, I guess we just didn't run into each other. In fact, I just took mine off yesterday.

We just rebooked the Polynesian concierge this morning, for next May, and I would be thrilled to have Allison helping me again with my pre-planning requests. ::yes::

That's about all I have for now--I'll probably copy this to its own post on the resorts main board, when I have time. I've uploaded my pictures and they can be found at: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2089473445 if anyone is interested.

For those heading out soon--I wish I could go back, but then again--someone has to start saving for next year! :woohoo:

Tess...I haven't looked at this thread in awhile, but I am leaving for the Poly in 5 days...arriving in 6!!! I loved your pictures, and now I can't wait even more. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas!! :rotfl:

I do have one question. The picture of you going to the Hoop Dee Doo has you on the boat dock. We are also going to the HDDR...do they have a boat that goes to Ft. Wilderness?? I was expecting to take the monorail to the Cont, and then the boat from there. If there is a boat from the Poly, that would be so much easier. Thanks!!! :)

I just booked for April 26 to May 3, 2008 for garden view room. Requested Samoa, but I really do not care where we are.

There is no direct boat to FW from Polynesian. Your plan will work just as well. We took the boat from the Polynesian to MK and then a separate boat from MK to Ft. Wilderness. Either way (monorail to CR and boat to FW or boat to MK and MK boat to FW) works equally well. When we return from HDDR, we take the CR boat back and get the statue shot in our photo collection. Have fun--

When we checked again if the room was ready they told us it wasn't but then switched our room to be closer to my sister in law and we were put in 1512. Again i have to say how great this view was.
..,..umm back to the patio poop; I saw no poop at all until our last day and even then it wasnt much at all. There were plenty of ducks and they walked by the patio often and hung out there some times too.

You had OUR room! Wasn't that view fantastic! The duck droppings were pretty nasty when we arrived, but mousekeeping did a great job cleaning it each day--at least I'm assuming it was them. . .:confused3

Hi,
We are headed to the Poly and plan on using the daybed for a bed. How is this made up? Is there linen in the room for you to make up or do you let housekeeping know. We have stayed there before just never used the daybed before.
Thanks so much,

Hello.

No worries about the daybed. My son used it all 7 nights we were there and it's already made up. Just fold it down into place and the pillows and extra blankets are in the closet. Be careful of trying to tuck the blanket you throw on top at the bottom of the bed. I was tucking the blanket in at the end of the bed and rammed my fingers on some sharp edge hidden below the mattress. Ouch! Otherwise everything was great and leave the bed in the down position so the maid will know to make it up/ install fresh sheets. We always came back to it folded up as a couch and in perfect condition. My son enjoyed not having to share a bed with his brother on this vacation.

I am sorry for my ignorance, but I thought a day bed was just a like a bench but had a cushion that a smaller person could sleep on. Are you saying it is actually a fold out couch? Sorry I am just a bit confused. Thanks!! :)

The daybed is a couch that folds down into a single/twin sized bed. My mother (age: 60's) slept on it all ten nights (just got back). She said she found it more firm than the queen beds which was more to her liking. The linen was already on it; the blanket and pillow are in one of the closets.

Such a terrific place! We had a Samoa patio room with a volcano pool view. My daughter encouraged the ducks over with bread crumbs and we never had duck poop at all. Mousekeeping showed up bright and early every single day. They vacuumed every single day - and I should know because my son made a mess every single day. The bath and toilets were cleaned every single day. Staff greeted us with an Aloha! every single day. Pool was absolutely fabulous every single day. Monorail was convenient and fast every single time we used it. Wishes was beautiful every single night. In short, we had a terrific trip! You should be so blessed!!!

The daybed will be made up for you, but just make sure to let housekeeping know that someone WILL be using it so they can fold it down for you on the first night. After that, they'll see that someone is using it and fold it up each morning, and then fold it back down each evening at turndown. Oh, and don't forget to request turndown service from housekeeping, on your first day :)

Hi Eddie! :wave2: My DSs like not having to share a bed either, which is why we love the Polynesian resort. :)

It's not a typical fold out couch, the part that you sleep on is actually the reverse side of the BACK of the couch! lol They fold down the back of the couch, and the sleeping area is then laying flat over the original sitting area of the couch. In other words, during the day when it's all folded up, the actual sleeping area is facing the wall behind the couch.

Here's a pic of it opened up:

Thanks so much CoolPool and SeaSpray for your great explanations of the day bed and thank you for the picture!!:) You are the best. Glad you both had great stays there!!

How much do you tip for turn down service? How do you leave a tip for both housekeeping and turn down?

For those of you who have stayed concierge level recently - how is the food selection in the lounge?
Is there enough to count on it for a light meal when we don't want to do a restaurant or is it really only enough for snacks and drinks?
