hi all!

quick post from me. I'm childless tonight!!! woo hoo! :cheer2: Tyler and I went out for dinner with my parents, did a little shopping and then they offered to take him for the night.

I'm going to clean my house like a mad woman and then curl in bed with my book.

DH comes home tomorrow afternoon!! yeah

nuc - Glad the kiddos are better. How fun the hotel sounds for you guys! Very cool!

alice - Cute stuff, girls get all the fun stuff! I'll cross my fingers for that magic Gymbo card to appear.

justthat - I never mentioned how adorable your signature picture is!!

jill - Yeah on your adult night! I bet you can find cosmos all over WDW. Any resort bar can make you one. 50s prime time has a cool bar and some yummy drinks too.

lissawynn - That's great you found towels. Kohls does have some good deals.

diskim - Good thinkin' with the threats. I agree, if it was one of them, it will leak out eventually. Kids can't keep their mouths shut.

Off to clean - I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Tamie

Just wanted to share our picture we had done this evening with Santa. I did not want nor plan to be in it. I look just awful! You can tell I am just now recovering from a stomach virus. On top of that, I felt so awful last night that I washed my hair, and slept on it wet and didn't even think to blowdry it and straighten it like I usually do, so my hair is awful too. BUT the most annoying Santa in the world insisted that he would not take the picture unless dh and I were in it. So we tried to be a good sport and that is why we are in it. The picture actually turned out good (other than me of course) but the color doesn't look quite right on my computer since I scanned it...but you get the idea!

OurfamilywithSanta.jpg

ETA: Thanks for all the get-well wishes! We all seem to be recovering well now. I am about 85% back to normal. I am able to eat again but it isn't quite as appealing as it will be when I am completely better. That's probably a good thing though, lol! I am sorry that I can't seem to catch up on this thread. I hope to have some time to do that when things calm down here a bit.

Oh, and J&D, thanks for the card! Kylie loves Pooh so that made her day to see that this morning! Thanks for thinking of us! :)

Wow! Those cards and packages arrived quickly. I just wanted to let everyone know that I sent cards to everyone listed in the New Mom's Directory that I typed up. If you don't get a card, it is simply because you aren't listed in the directory, and I don't have your address. I'll do an updated directory after the start of the new year.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hey everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA this week. Shelby has been ill, with a very high temp and it was pretty scary for a while. I have had enough of being pregnant and just want this baby out!!

The shop is all going through well - we hope to have the keys in 3 weeks time. So that will be interesting what with having a new baby etc!

My restless legs seems to be getting worse so I am seeing the Doctor on Tuesday at my antenatal clinic appointment, as I have scratched my knee till it bled in my sleep! I also have serious water retention issues as the moment. AHHH! to be a woman!

I hope that you are all well, and hope fully I will get time to catch up properly with you all soon.

Love gems
xx

Robin - I am sooooo lucky that I don't have a little girl. The boy stuff is pretty "blah".

Tasha - I'm glad you are feeling better. Cute picture!

Well, I just wanted to check in real quick. I got most of my wrapping done last night. Santa just has to wrap his! I have another crazy weekend. I'll relax at work on Monday. I'm leaving to finish shopping in a few minutes. Then, Emmy has skating and Alex has karate. We are going to see The Nutcracker at a local theater this afternoon. Then, we have a party at the neighbors (that's going to be one of those where I bring Aidan, pretend to socialize and then act sad because I have to leave to put Aidan to bed ;) ). Then, I have to grade 30 research papers tonight. Nothing like a little stress! Tomorrow, I promised the kids we would bake cookies. That's about the last thing I want to do.

Hi mommies! I just wanted to check in quick. Bailey is still recovering from the RSV and we are still dealing with the reflux. I am really starting to panic because I have zero Christmas shopping done. Not even a stocking stuffer. DH and I had planned to leave the kids with my sister this weekend for a little while and knock it all out but we just can not leave Bailey at this point. So I have boxes and wrapping paper. I might just wrap up IOU's! Pretty tacky, huh. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Bellacam - any adult who doesn't understand that you have a very ill 1 month old and couldn't do holiday shopping doesn't deserve to get a present anyway. :p

Can it be February right after New Year's? I don't want to deprive anyone of their holiday fun for the next two weeks, but I just want to have Annabel and have my house finished. I got all upset and weepy last night b/c the contractor still has many things to finish and didn't work at ALL yesterday. DH is supposed to call him today. I have half a mind to do it, but then he probably wouldn't come back at all. His to-do list includes insulating under the floors in our closet and Jimmy's room, hanging all the trim (which he can't do until the paint is done and dry), finish the steps, install all of our bathroom fixtures and have the plumbers come back and finish the plumbing, install our attic access stairs, hang all the bedroom and closet doors, and finish the overhang on the front of the house.

The carpet guy is set to come on Thursday and do the carpet in all the bedrooms. We're holding off on the hall until all the work upstairs is done so the carpet doesn't get ruined. I don't know if all the painting/trim will be done by then.

I am going to the hardware store today and buying a tall, skinny pre-lit tree for $40. It has colored lights (the one with white lights is $70), which I'm not crazy about, but it will get the job done. I will most likely take it to school and put it in my room next year or put it upstairs somewhere for the kids. I have that brand new white tree my mom got me last year on clearance. That is going to be in our dining room next year and our other tree will be in our family room.

I need to get off my *$$ and get a shower. Did I mention that all the laundry in my county is in my basement ready to be washed? Tomorrow the electrician is coming to install the new service for the upstairs. I won't have power for 3-4 hours. I think my mom is going to take Jimmy for a while and I may go to school and get my stuff from yesterday squared away.

I hope you all have a great Saturday.

ETA - Bellacam - I'm thinking of Bailey and your family. :grouphug: I hope she's getting better every day. Your family will completely understand that shopping is not your priority at this time. Besides, you could get all of your gifts during the great after Christmas sales.

Bella – How is Bailey doing?

Justine – I can’t believe that story (about the apartment), that’s a shame. How are you feeling today? How is Henry? Wow, I can’t believe you got all that stuff at Gymboree for such a low price. Now that’s my kind of shopping. Do they have sales often, when is there next sale, Tess needs clothes, and that new swimsuit is to die for! A 10hr excursion seems like a long time with kids, but like you said, a lot of it is in the car, so maybe it won’t be too bad.

Zalansky – I shared your rooster, rap story with my DP and she was LOL’ing. I’ve never heard anyones music here where we live, I guess everyone is afraid of the fines. Someone put the wrong thing in their trash the other day and that were billed $200 for it, which is on top of the $400 a month we pay in HOA fees.

J&D- Thanks for the reminder about the tags.

Tasha – Hope everyone is feeling better. Very cute picture!

GLT- Hugs, I cannot believe your not-so-dear-x-husband-to-be, I wish I could slap him for you. Like other previously mentioned document everything, I would think some of the stuff he is doing is illegal, but what do I know. Congrats on your van though!!!!

Gina – How are the kidney stones, feeling better now that they’ve passed? Enjoying your trip at the world?

Diskim- Do you have any floating holiday that you can use to go to Disney so you don’t have to fake being sick? I’ve always been terrified of calling in sick after I’ve taken personal days. I totally laughed at your ‘story’ to scare the students. I hope you are able to find the culprit.

Dizagain – I can’t believe the mom called you to ask you if you knew about her kid, how sad. But it’s totally cool that you let her come.

Nucpharm- What is Santa trail mix? How is Emma? Matthew?

Robin – How is Sam?--- crapped on a cracker, lmao. Don’t feel bad over the finances; I do the same thing, most people do at one time or another. And no, you don’t sound like a ‘complete loser brat’ at all.

Tykes- I didn’t create the saying CHAOS, it’s from fly lady.

Jill – I can’t believe all the lectures the eye doctors have been giving you. I would switch practices.

Lissawynn – Are you excited that the construction on your house is almost complete?

Fab- I hope everything turns out okay with your MIL’s mom.

BNB – Congrats on DVC! Nice to hear that Luke is doing better.

Good Morning everyone!

bellacam - I'm glad to hear Bailey is slowly getting better. I agree, don't worry about the Christmas stuff. Maybe your sister who was going to watch Bailey would be willing to go get a few things off your christmas list for you instead?

tasha - cute picture. Intresting that Santa insisted you join him!

icebrat - I hope everything goes ok with getting Tess!

lissawynn - You poor girl. I wish your house was done for you! I can't imagine living with your house torn up.

diskim - Have fun at the party ;) Kids are convenient excuses for leaving things early aren't they? We do that a lot too.

gem - Sorry to her Shelby is sick and you aren't feeling much better either! I'm glad to hear the shop is moving along though. I hope you guys feel better soon.

j&d - Thanks for the card! I might be finding some Christmas confetti in my car for a couple of days though ;)

Gotta run!

tamie

My computer shut down in the middle of my post and now Henry's on my lap trying to type so I guess I'll have to come back later. We're off to the mall to attempt to get some gift cards and then I have tons of packing to do cause we leave 7am Monday and tomorrow we're going to a Hanukkah party. What is that exactly, anyone know? What I mean mostly is if I have to bring a gift or not. Well Henry's eating so it's getting hard to type.

Hi DIS moms! :sunny:

Bellacam - Like others have said, don't worry too much about the Christmas shopping. If people don't understand then they have quite a problem. Katie had RSV this exact time 8 years ago and not much Christmas shopping was done either. It all worked out fine in the end. I'm still keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Icebrat - Best wishes with getting Tess tomorrow! :wizard: That is so exciting that the time is almost here! :cheer2: I hope that all goes smoothly with the mother.

Robin - Those Gymbo clothes are so cute!! There were a few boy tops that I have my eye on. :thumbsup2

Gems - It is great to see you. I'm so sorry to hear that Shelby has been sick and that your legs are getting worse. :grouphug: Did they say that the restless leg will go away after you have the baby? I hope that you all feel better very soon.

Tamie - So how was last night? Did you have a nice relaxing evening curled up with your book?

Tasha - You look great in the picture with Santa! :thumbsup2 I don't think you look bad at all!

Nucpharm - I hope that everyone is better so you can go on your getaway this weekend! :wizard:

Fabumouse - Sending warm wishes that Madeleine sleeps through for you very soon. :wizard:

GLT - How are you doing today?

Justhat - I'm right behind you with the packing! We leave for my parents Monday evening and then crack o' dawn on Tuesday morning. I should get off of the computer and get packing! Have fun at the Hannukah party tonight! Just bring a hostess gift to be safe.

DisKim - You are one busy woman! Good luck with everything today and I hope that you can get a chance to rest soon.

Lissawynn - What a pain that everything hasn't progressed farther along with your house. Do you think it may be done very soon so you can sleep in your own room?

J&D - How is the W (sorry, I can't spell it... ) tournament going?

Well, I better get moving and get a little packing done. Meagan had a basketball game at the crack of dawn this morning and I am pooped now. Katie's game is in a few hours and then we go to my sister's house for dinner. I need to pack sometime today so I'm not all stressed out tomorrow.

Everyone have a great day! Hi to all the moms! :wave2:

Ice- good luck entertaining the 'mother'. I say, go out to lunch and turn the TV on when you get home. :p Or put some movies in? I HATE the vault thing for Disney....it's so stupid. I honestly don't know where you get could some of them cheaply that are in the vault. Just get the ones you can I guess.....I *might* have an extra copy of some of the movies on VHS that I can send you, but they're at my mom's house. I think I might have Snow White.....but I know I sold Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and I think Cinderella....but I might have B and the Beast- I will look next time I'm down there, if you still have a VHS player. We don't anymore so I gave them to my mom for my kids to watch when they're there.

(((((Bellacam)))))- I agree with Tamie; can your sister do a little shopping for you? Even if it's just to grab Aidan some stuff, so Santa comes for him? Maybe by the end of the week your DH will be able to go out for an hour or so to get some other things? Don't worry about it- people will understand.

Justine- I am not sure what I would bring to a Hanukkah party either. :confused3 Maybe grab a small present just in case? Like a pretty candle or something? I also forgot to compliment you on your lovely children- Madison's eyes are so beautiful! The new pic is great!

Alisa- You made me laugh when you said the county put their laundry in your basement. :rotfl: If it makes you feel any better, I think a bomb went off in my kitchen and living room. I have some cleaning to do before my parents come to babysit tonight. We have a work party to go to.

Tasha- Nice picture! I think you look fine!

J&D- how nice of you to send us mommies cards- you're so on the ball!

Kim- Yes, you are lucky to have Aidan and just worry about boy clothes- although I thought some of those sailboat tops were cute for baby boys! I can't wait til the clothes are on the website tomorrow so I can price stuff out and decide what I can afford....not much since I only have the one coupon. Probably just the swimsuit and accessories, as they sell out fast.

Ice- Gymboree has sales fairly often. They are rumored to have one of their 'Red Hot Dot Sales' the week after Christmas, but my 'sources' haven't confirmed it yet. You can get on Gymbohaven's mailing list at their website to keep you up to date. Red Hot Dot usually is a price point sale, where all their sale stuff is $14.99, 9.99, 4.99, etc.

Diz- how are you feeling today? I hope you are feeling better after the email mishap yesterday. :grouphug:

Nuc- Glad the kiddoes seem on the mend today. :cloud9:

Gems- good to hear from you! I'm sorry your body is giving you grief....just a few weeks to go, right? :grouphug:

Hi Jill, Val (you doing ok?), Hillary, Loretta, Fab, Marilynn, Holly, Tamie, and everyone else. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy weekend! Tonight is my parents' Fake Christmas Eve dinner which we're all looking forward to. I made my pie and I'll let you know how it comes out.

J&D - Thanks for the card! :dance3:

bellacam - How is Bailey doing? Don't stress yourself out about Christmas gifts. You've been through enough!

llij - If you're a lush, I don't even want to know what I am. No, I'm not really thinking of having another baby quite yet, I just get a little teeny tiny twinge when my PG friends talk about themselves.

nucpharm - Wow about at that TP! That's an interesting Christmas bonus. At least it wasn't Kotex.

fabumouse - I forgot this was the first night of Hanukkah and my best friend is Jewish.

Happy Hanukkah to any of our Jewish moms!

dizagain - Oops about the email! Sounds like something I would do, but knock on wood, haven't done yet.

Tasha - Love the Santa picture!

tkyes - I hope you enjoyed your child-free night!

Gems - Hope Shelby is feeling better.

DisKim - I hope the guilty party confesses soon.

icebrat - I'm sure everything will work out. Good luck!

Hi to all the moms I missed. I have to help DH out - Lucas is putting up a spectacular fight about napping and I really need him to sleep before the party tonight.

Just a quick post from me--apparently my dad had some sort of meltdown this am, so we're no longer having our weekend away. My guess is that my mom offered the trip deal and then after my dsis and agreed--then she approached my dad--he's not good with that stuff. OH well, hopefully the trip to see the lights and Santa will be uneventful.

Well, I got up to go run this am. It was a beautiful 65 degrees :sunny: -that's where the pleasantness ended. It was a horrible work out--I have a feeling that I've caught the kids bug. I felt great for the 1st 5 miles, but then after that I was "crawling" back to the parking lot. And now I don't feel so hot--oh well! Have a great Saturday all--need to hop in the shower!

You know I never thought to ask my sis to go shopping for me! I have been so absorbed by Bailey and trying to make sure Aidan gets enough attention to, I think I've lost my good sense. Thanks to whomever suggested that one! For those who asked Bailey is doing ok. She still struggles with breathing and I've almost had to take her back to the hospital a couple times but her oxygen level comes back up at the last minute. She is still unable to nurse so I am pumping and the pump I rented from the hospital makes a huge difference. Much more efficient. I did finally pass out cold last night. DH said he'd keep Bailey and I laid down at 10:00. I asked him to come in and make sure I was up to pump for 11:00 and I had fallen asleep but he said he didn't have the heart to wake me...fast forward to 7:00 am this morning when I woke up with what felt like a 20 lb boulders on my chest! I slept right thru and boy did that hurt!!!!

Ok, everyone has to stop posting 3 or 4 times before I can reply to my post from 2 days ago :teeth: :teeth: - Just kidding.

I finished wrapping all the gifts I bought already but I still need to get a few more things this weekend.

Liam has been napping since 11:15 - we all took a family walk to the post office and he's still sleeping in his stroller. It's nice that he's getting to the age of only having one nap but it's a long one!

Icebrat - wishing you good luck tomorrow with Tess - I sure hope it all goes well and it will be a very Merry Christmas in your household i'm sure.

SL - Have fun at your "fake" Christmas Eve dinner - we're having a "fake" dinner on the 23rd with my family because my husband is going to the football game on the 24th.

Bellacam - Glad to hear that Bailey is doing better. You poor thing, you sound like you're run ragged.

Nucpharm - Sorry to hear about your dad and your illness. Hope you don't get the stomach bug.

Justine - my best friend converted to Judiasm before she got married and I sometimes get some kind of pastry from a jewish bakery - or a nice Jewish bottle of wine. They're not Kosher, but I always think it's nice getting something geared towards their religion. I'm sure they'd be happy with anything though - try not to worry too much.

Alice - those prices at Gymboree sound great. I did buy my kids and nieces pajamas a few weeks ago from Gymbo when they had the good sale.

Jill - I keep thinking back to the post you made last week about your neighbors who made the Christmas Cosmo's....I really want that recipe - they sound delicious. I can't believe that eye doctor. I usually tell them right out that I don't like to be lectured. You can only do so much to get to all of your appointments and it's not as if you waited years to take them back, it was a few months. Hope all the kids are doing well.

Loretta/Dizagain - I read your post and Dizagain's posts yesterday about sending E-mails to the wrong person - OOPS. Nothing like being in a total panic. Hope everything worked out for both of you.

Gems - Sorry to hear Shelby has been sick - hope she's doing better.

Gotta go - Liam's awake and trying to climb out of the stroller........

Diskim - see, I disagree. I think some of the gymbo boy stuff with the wagons and such are adorable! I haven't seen anything else like that and love the colors. Lucky for me there isn't a gymbo around -- well, that and I currently have to watch every penny :rolleyes1

Gem - good to see you! Three weeks time, that is wonderful. I'm so excited about the shop. Have you totally quit your other job yet?

SL - speaking of jobs, how's your crazy office been?

J&D - I used that list for cards too, but haven't sent them out just yet as I need to add thank you notes to lots of the cards. I'm so lucky to have great Mom friends like all of you!! :cloud9:

Tasha - I think you look great, you have lipstick on an everything! I am hoping this weekend to get the kids to see Santa, as they haven't done that at all yet, and I haven't focused on Christmas at all this year (a bit going on, you know  ). I think that's a great family photo - it looks like dh needs a baby on his lap instead of a bear thought :rolleyes1

Icebrat - one more day, I'm so excited for you and DP  It will be okay. Have you decided on the restaurant route instead of your house with the grandma?

Tamie - I hope you had some quality time to yourself and got some cleaning done.

Speaking of time alone, supposedly dh has the kids today for a few hours. We'll see how that goes. First they have a b'day party this a.m. for a great friend's kids. Of course I feel guilty for not really getting the kids much as a gift, esp. since both dd and ds are going, but she totally knows the financial situation for me right now and understands -- I think I'll make some puppy chow or put together bags of candy (we have lots) for them. Kids love food!

Oh, back to xdh. He stopped by yesterday a bit after 7. The kids were just getting out of the bath, he dressed Leif and then comments how sick he is -- apparently he has a stomach bug. THEN WHY BRING IT INTO MY HOUSE???????????????????????????? :furious: He's holding the counters for support and ready to roll on the floor and had to use the bathroom. I was shooing him out the door and then spraying Oust and Clorox spray and Fantastic over anything and everything he touched. Ick. So we shall see if he is healthy enough for the kids today. I do not want to deal with that stomach bug if I don't have to.

update - xdh is sick and may try again tomorrow.

OK= I wrote the above about 5 hours ago -- never posted it. Ooops.

Icebrat~ Good luck tomorrow! I bet things will go okay and it will be over before you know it! I agree with maybe getting lunch or something to pass time a little.

Gems~ You're almost there! I know it seems like forever but you will be holding your little boy before you know it!

DisKim~ I think I am weird but I actually kind of like the boy's line better than the girl's on the Gymbo link. I am strange though as I don't share in the Gymboree obsession. I like some of their stuff but am just not in love with it. That may change if Kylie ever grows and I have a better idea of things I can buy her on clearance in the right size. She is still wearing mostly 12 month pants and that is still too big in the waist. She can wear larger shirts and dresses but pants and skirts are just huge in the waist! She's hard to shop for.

Bridget~ I hope Bailey feels better soon! Don't stress about the presents. People should definitely understand and if they don't then they truly don't deserve a gift anyway. You have more important things to take care of at the moment.

GLT~ Lol, I told dh that about the bear. I said it looks like another child should be sitting there instead. ;) But, alas, I am determined to wait at least until next fall until we even think about trying for another. It just wouldn't work out well to have one any sooner with school and all. I am sure we'd find a way to make it work but why stress about it if I don't have to right?

And your ex! OMG, there just are no words! What a jack*ss! That's really all I can say that won't get me banned! Please, please, please fight him hard for custody when the time comes. It really doesn't sound like he deserves more than every other weekend or something to me. He wasn't much of a husband, and he doesn't sound like much of a father. Oh, and if you want me to, I will delete this part of my post. I don't know what's safe to say about the situation and what's not. I just had to get that out first!

Jill and justhat (and anyone else who is going on a trip!)~ Have a great time! I am having serious WDW withdrawal! I know it makes more sense to save our money and not go next year but I also know that if I can find a way that we will go. I am trying really hard to be responsible and skip it next year but it is HARD!

Well, I have my sister's baptism tomorrow. I get so freakin' bored at that church and my witchy SIL goes there but I will get through it. We will definitely be going back to our church after tomorrow.

I am feeling so much better today. I think the bug was more like a 48 hour bug. The worst of it was gone by 24 hours but I didn't feel like myself again for about 48 hours. The ironic part is that we caught the bug from Kylie but she didn't have it anywhere near as bad as we did.

Dh is hunting but should be home in a couple hours. I am hoping to go to the mall or something. Now that I am feeling better I want out of this house! We went out last night and did the Santa pic and all but we weren't gone long as I just wasn't feeling up to it quite yet. Now I do so I hope he won't be gone too long.

Oh, and the Santa last night has to be the same one from last year. The man is extremely annoying and was the exact same way last year. I told him I didn't want in the picture but he was just one of those types that wouldn't let it go and I just wanted to get it over with so I didn't fight him on it. Then, he tried talking our ear off and was just generally annoying. He also gave Kylie about 15 suckers which she loved but it ended up causing problems when I cut her off after the 4th one! But anyway, he was the same way last year but I didn't get in the picture in that one (he did try to get me to be in it then too but I wasn't sick then so I refused and wouldn't budge). He gave Kylie about 15 candy canes last year and Kylie wasn't old enough to eat them. Dh wasn't with us last year so he gave me extra candy canes for him. We ended up just putting them on the tree. It's all in fun and all but this man, although nice, really is annoying. You'd just have to be there to see what I mean. We may take Kylie to another Santa next year.

Hi to everyone I missed! Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. It's another nearly 70 degree day here and sunny and beautiful. I hate winter so I am loving this!

SL- The kidney stone pain is like a lower back pain that you can also feel in your abdomen. It gets intense enough that it makes you feel like you’re going to hurl. Some more symptoms are fever and cloudy urine.

Dizagain- I hope that email doesn’t get you into too much trouble!

Fabs- I’d love to go for Halloween next year. We went on Halloween last year, and were supposed to go this year, but couldn’t afford it because of the house closing.
I’m nudging DH about scheduling a trip for next fall/winter, but haven’t made any headway yet. Hey, we can always cancel and get our deposit back if we really can’t afford it. In the meantime, I bought a small gold cat at the Japan pavilion in Epcot. They’re supposed to bring you fortune and make your wishes come true. It couldn’t hurt right?

Icebrat- I’m doing much better with the kidney stones. Once they pass it’s a huge relief. Then you’re just sore for awhile. In fact, I think all that pain is helping me forget how tired my legs and feet are as we walk so many miles per day! I’m so glad you’re getting Tess so soon. I hope you survive all that time with “mom”.

GLT- Sorry your xDH is such a pain!

I haven’t started posting the trip report yet because I’m waiting to upload some pictures onto my laptop. I just keep spending all my limited laptop time on WPASADI. Thank goodness we got an extension until Tuesday! OK, we’re off to Chef Mickey’s in a little while. Back later tonight!
