lissawynn,

Your house sounds like it's coming along. :thumbsup2 Dh adjusted our pressure, too. Then, the light went back on. So we took it to the dealer twice and they checked the pressure, checked for any problems with the tires, reset everything and checked all the sensors. Now, it's back on again. It has to be the sensor. I'm going to tell them tomorrow that if we have to bring it back again they are on my list. It's a complete hassle to haul all the kids down there.

We had trouble with an airbag sensor shortly after we purchased the car and they had to have it in 4 times to replace the airbag sensor. :furious:

It sounds like everyone is having a great night. Conferences went very well. :)

I'm off to read everyone's posts. :wave2:

Good evening everyone!

Today we had a nice playdate with a woman whose children are almost the exact same age as mine - I love when things work out so nicely. :goodvibes

My computer woes are mostly resolved - but my tower won't let me download my e-mail - it seems to believe that I am not on line even though I can access the internet easily. Something to do with that router, I'm sure. So more of my precious time will have to be used on this.

Oh - and I want this to come off right - my computer guy is really neat and he has MS. So I spent the whole visit with these horrible images of him falling down my steep basement steps, or worse, the front steps that have no railing (remember it was pouring here all day yesterday) I was so relieved when he left without killing himself!

Tasha - isn't it crazy how much we worry about our kids' growth? And development, and social skills, and hygeine .. .. . .

And on the conversation about staying at home - I think the hardest thing for me is not having "my own" money. I control the finances and I spend most of our discretionary income, and DH really does think of it as "our" money, but I was more comfortable when I was also depositing money into the checking account.

drat - baby crying

:wave2:

fabumouse- Glad you and the kiddos enjoyed the playdate.

lissawynn- Sounds like your renovations are really coming along.

Alice- Have you seen any of the Gymbo cowgirl costumes left at your stores?

Hillbeans- Your Nuva Ring description and story gave me a chuckle. :lmao:
THUM_GS_1301.jpg

Jill- Have a great last day with the 5th graders. How have your science demos gone?

Ginamarie- Good luck with the closing.

floridafam & dizagain- Sounds like you had a pretty good day of shopping.

GLT- How was the appt with the speech therapist today?

BnBM- Congrats to Jocelyn!

joats- I can't believe we have to wait until Feb. for Lost. I wasn't too impressed with the cliffhanger. I had expected more.

DisKim- How was the show tonight? Did you end up taking the train or driving?

Tasha- Good luck preparing for your finals. You'll do great! :thumbsup2

nucpharm- How was the playgroup?

SL- Cute new pic of Lucas. I miss seeing his curls, though. ;)

Hi to all other Moms!

I THINK the kids are all asleep...I'm spoiled as DH usually has Carson at around 9 when I spend a few minutes with the girls and tuck them in. Of course tonight Carson was a pill and screamed the entire time I was trying to scratch Hannah's back. She ended up in bed with Hayley who is not so thrilled, I'm sure. Anyway, peace at last - until about 2 a.m., anyway!

Floridafam - I'm not the best person to ask about driving the Chicago area - I haven't done much of that. Personally, I'd take a train in and avoid parking at the airport, etc. as well as the drive around the city. DH always does that when he travels through O'Hare.

fabumouse - I feel EXACTLY the same way about missing my "own" $$. I also handle all finances and DH doesn't ever think of it as "his" money, but I miss depositing that paycheck and taking some cash out for me without feeling guilty!

lissawynn - glad you had luck with Gymboree...I can't get to a store until Sunday, so I'm sure it will be slim pickings by then. Not that I need to spend the $$, anyway!

robin - glad your shopping trip was a success!! Sorry you missed out on Cheesecake Factory, though - that is sounding so good right now!!

hillbeans - What an adventure at the ob/gyn! Exactly why I continue to take the pill even though it's a pain! And you are smart to "never say never" - Look at me with a 10-year span between my middle and youngest! I just wasn't "done" yet!!!

jill - glad you enjoyed your time working in the school! Hang in there - 4 more weeks!!!

ginamarie - good luck with those stockings!

justthat - hope you're having a great time! Thanks again for those similac coupons!!

well....you-know-who is now sleeping on my arm so i need to go! goodnight!

OMG~~~~~I am having one of those Mom moments where I just feel so frazzled! My kids were just HIGH STRUNG all evening long. I was just read to scream! I never got to Urgent care cause DH came home an hour late and I just was too punchy to deal with waiting in line 3 different times at the clinic. I will go tomorrow night as DH promised he would be home earlier.

Fab, Diz- I too miss feeling like I have my own money. I pay all the bills, etc., but for example, this Christmas- I feel lame buying DH a big gift. The last two Christmases we did not exchange gifts, and the year before that I was babysitting my best friend's son, and was making $300-400 a month at least. I also rarely take out money to just spend on myself- yet I always feel like I am spending money. DH points out that he knows it's for family expenses and it's not the same as the $50 he will take out to do work lunches, stuff for himself etc. He never gives me a hard time about spending money, but I still feel weird. It is so engrained to me that I need to be working outside the home and bringing home a paycheck to feel like I am 'doing something' and yet DH, mom, MIL, friends remind me all the time that taking care of the kids is an ENORMOUS job and DH says a lot how much he appreciates it, so that he can really committ 110% to his job. Before we were always juggling and taking turns who would get off work early to get the kids from daycare, etc. So, it's a learning process for me, this whole SAHM thing. Even though it's been over 3 years!

alisa- Wow, they really are making some progress on your home! Windows! That's great. ::yes:: I'm glad you scored at Gymbo. I am so wishing I could go back again this weekend, but I just shouldn't.

J&D- the only costume I noticed today at Gymbo was some sort of lizard/dragon type fleecey thing. I did notice a whole rack of cowboy boots though- that were in the girl section. I'm not sure if they were part of a new line or the boots for the costumes. The store I want to go to tomorrow is the best store in Portland to find older lines- it's a big store, but doesn't get the foot traffic of the other stores....I think the clientele of the mall just aren't Gymbo moms, if that makes sense. If I go, do you want me to look for the costume for you?

I had a slight Gymbo emergency tonight. I forgot about a sweater mom bought from the Mix n Match line for Molly and thought, "Wait....where IS it? I haven't seen it in weeks?!!" After a mild panic attack thru her closet and dresser, I decided to look in the car- it was shoved under the passenger seat. Phew! Now there is one other sweater I am not sure where it is, but I know she has worn it in the last week, so it's not too far.

Hillbeans- LOL about the Nuva Ring looking like a glow bracelet- and then Jen's little picture added to the amusement! :rotfl: I remember having to 'practice' with my diaphragm in the doctor's office when I was 19 or 20 and being mortified trying to get the darn thing out! You had to have talent! :rotfl2: At least I have, ahem, long fingers! ;) I tried getting fitted for a diaphragm after I had Josh and the doctor said my cervix was too distored after having two large babies- it wouldn't fit! Geez. I agree, the things we do as women! I don't blame you at all for not quite wanting to shut the door on another baby- it's a huge decision.

And I'm glad someone else noticed the Edita's outfits were the same week after week- as they were showing the tribute to Joey and Edita, I was chuckling at the one sparkly bra with loose fitting top and bottom after the next. With a hot pant thrown in there for good measure now and again. I do not care for Mario and his partner's personalities, but wow, that tango was something last night! Neat footwork!

Fab- I am glad your computer repairman was able to navigate your stairs and such! And that your computer is up and running (for the most part) again!

Hi Jill! Will your next school term be as heavy duty as this term was? I hope you can get everything done before your MIL comes. :grouphug:

I thought Survivor was actually good tonight! Good switch up, and I liked the glass bottom boat game. :thumbsup2

My friend and her two boys are going to stop by for a bit tomorrow, so that will be a nice change in the day.

Robin- I sent you a PM about Gymbo.

Good morning all! I just had to pop in and say WE PASSED ROFR!!!!   I'm so excited! For the uninitiated, that means that Disney waived their right to take back the DVC contract we bid on, so it's ours, as soon as we write the "heap big check". We still aren't going to WDW again until 2008, but I'm already in the planning stages ;) and it'll likely be a 9- or 10-day extravaganza.

Gina--My MIL was going to take Jocelyn to the Rockette camp (the one day thing) last summer, but then reneged--grr! I hope to take her myself, maybe next year. I doubt she'll ever be tall enough to actually audition some day, but she loves dancing and I'm not going to discourage her.

You know, you guys are scoring so much Gymbo these days, it makes me afraid to go in the store! My kids have plenty, though. And the other day, I had Luke in a Christmas outfit from a couple years back, that includes a red and green "jester" type hat--he looked just like one of Santa's elves! Someone suggested I use it for his visit to Santa's lap, so I probably will--I have more formal clothes for our holiday photo, which we're doing tomorrow.

Hillary--I hope the nuva ring works out for you. Their TV ads make me nuts--I don't know, I just find them creepy. You're right not to slam the door shut too fast. Even if, in 5 years, you decide that you're done with the number you have now, it's good to be sure. Children are great, but such a massive undertaking!

Robin--Great on the retail therapy--sounds like a nice trip! We all need days like that once ina while.

Jill--Kind of sad leaving the fifth graders. Just a few more weeks, then a break for you. Try not to get too burned out.

GLT--Robert was in speech therapy for a year. He wouldn't talk at all until he was two--not even "Mama"! Of course, now we're like, "Please, God, find the off switch!". His speech still isn't as clear as it should be (the retainer doesn't help), and his biggest problem is that his brain goes faster than his mouth. He's in OT for handwriting--same thing, his brain's too fast. The biggest thing with getting kids help early on is, they can fix these things then. By the time a child is 7, their speech patterns are fixed--that's why learning languages is easier for a child. So, if Laine needs the help now, it doesn't mean a lifetime of problems. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I've been down that road.

I have to go--"Hi" to everyone else, I'll try to pop in again later. Pity me--I have to take 4 kids to Wal-Mart this morning!

Hi ladies! Finally some good news here! We took Aidan to the Urologist yesterday and found out he will not need surgery after all. His "boys" as dh reffers to them  are retractile and not undescended. The way it was explained is that as he gets older and "puts them to use" they will stay down on a more permanent level. But for now they may stay high and tight for a while. They did fix the adhesions he had from his circumcision yesterday which was a little traumatic for all of us, but he seems to be doing ok. I had my own appointments this week and both NST's were ok so we are still waiting. My bp has been ok as well as the moderate bed rest seems to help.

Hope you all are well and enjoy your weekend!!!! Any big plans out there?

Bellacam! That is great news!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Ok, I'm off to my last day with the 5th graders! We are learning about rocks in science and still working on division. I'll miss those kids.... :goodvibes My babysitter cancelled on me last minute so my dh has to stay home this morning with John. Looks like I won't be getting any studying done today after school. Oh well!

J&D - My professor cancelled two of our 4 demos since some of the students complained that there would be a lot of overlap in demonstrations. So far, I've done one on Simple Machines and it worked out well. I'm doing my second one on Tuesday on sound. I'll be using a tuning fork, a whooping tube, a drum and a slinky to demonstrate sound waves and vibrations. It should be fun! :teeth:

I'll catch up with everyone else later this afternoon when John naps!

TGIF!!!

Oh, I'm so glad it's Friday. I took a look around the stores yesterday while I was out and have a few ideas of what I want to get my exchange buddy. In my defense, it seemed to me that the Christmas stuff just came out so I really couldn't do much shopping before now. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Can someone please remind me of the $$ cap or baseline or guidelines?

lissawynn - Sounds like your house is coming along! :)

tkyes - We have a similar problem with Lucas and food. If he doesn't like something, or he's done, or he put too much in his mouth, he just throws his food on the floor. We put a plastic mat down under his chair because he won't stop throwing.

glt - Good luck with DS and the speech therapist.

bnb - Congrats to Jocelyn for getting picked for a solo!! Congrats also on the DVC.

floridafam - Wow, Kona sure is a tall girl! Lucas was measured at 33 1/2 in this week.

ginamarie - Your stockings sound really nice. I hope you can post a picture of them when you're done.

llij - Only 4 more weeks! You must have some fun family time planned.

hillbeans - Hmmm, a glow necklace birth control. That might make for some interesting nights.

Alice28 - Way to go on the shopping! I've been carrying around a couple Target gift cards but haven't found anything I like yet. I'm on the lookout for some winter sweaters. I can't believe the pinkeye is back. I hope you can get it taken care of once and for all.

fabumouse - Glad your computer problems are almost fixed. Also glad your repairman left your house in one piece!

dizagain - Sorry Carson was such a pill last night.

J&D - His curls will be back soon enough. I swear his hair grows faster than anyone I've ever seen. He needs regular cuts every 6-8 weeks or so. We can make baby toupees with the amount that gets cut off.

bellacam - So glad to hear Aidan doesn't need surgery! :cheer2:

 Have a good Friday!

Good morning everyone! It's a beautiful day here in NJ. I am promising myself that I will get outside for a nice walk with the kids today.

Hi J&D! Yes, I wish all playdates could go as smooth. I really don't like the ones where there's lots of cryin' and fussin' going on. Especially when it's me cryin' and fussin'.

Robin - ITA, being a SAHM is a learning process. DH likes his job more than I did and when we were both working and Kailey got sick, it was torture. We had to play the "whose day is more important?" colored by the fact that DH was usually in another state as well.

And I'm always having those "where in the hell did that sweater/dress/jacket go????" and digging through the bottom of K's closet, harassing her teachers, etc. It seems like it's the very nice things that go missing. The $6 target t-shirt that has been stained repeatedly sticks around until I dispose of it (often secretly in the middle of the night).

BnB - contratulations! Since I'm very uninitiated, can you tell me why Disney would not accept your bid? Where are you bidding (on the Disney website?)?

Belacam - you must be so relieved!

Jill - those demonstrations sound like a lot of fun.

ETA - SL - I believe the baseline is $15 I don't remember anyone mentioning a cap. Have a great Friday!

:moped:

TGIF ladies!!!

This is going to be a serious drive-by post. I just skimmed the past two pages because I am cleaning and baking brownies - my sister and her DH fly in this afternoon and are staying here tonight so I've got to get a move on.

First, I want to beg you all for an extension for the deadline on our Xmas exchange. With my sister here until Monday and tomorrow is mine and DH's 6th anniversary, I know in my heart of hearts that there is no possible way that I can get this done by the 15th. Would everyone be ok with pushing it back until maybe the 25th? I think that still gives us plenty of time. I just had no clue the deadline was the 15th so I just started looking only a few days ago and came up empty handed. Sorry GEMS, I hope you're okay with this since you're the organizer!!!

About Gymbo, I put only 5 things on hold but to be honest they don't really excite me so I think I am going to call today and take them off hold. I had put a few shirts and a jacket for Connor on hold from that football line and held two skirts for Cam....but truly I have found for me, I need to buy matching outfits, not just single pieces, because I am not great at matching unless I just put jeans on the kids. Plus they have tons of clothing as it is.

Bellacam - congrats on the good news! :thumbsup2

BNB - congrats on passing ROFR and WELCOME HOME!!!!! :goodvibes

Jill - thanks for asking - I do feel better but went back to the doctor last night because I am still very congested, they gave me some decongestant....and as far as the Lymes, I am done with that medication and they say I will always test + for it and it may hit again and I'd just have to take more meds. Loved the pics of JP in his checken costume, BTW!

Gotta go, time to start making Nestle Toll House cookies!!!

Hi Again!

Bellacam--What great news on Aidan! Such a relief that he won't need surgery. And although the adhesion thing sounds very un-fun, at least it's in the rear-view mirror now. Who knew that male body parts could be so complicated, huh?

fab--I'm big on forgetting where clothes are, too. Where I run into trouble is, there has been so much Gymboree over the years, and my best friend and I pass bins of clothes back and forth. So, I'll put Celeste in an outfit and think, "This outfit had socks!" Well, good luck figuring out which bin! I mean, we're generally good about keeping stuff together, but she has 5 kids, I have 4, and it just gets out of control sometimes. But I swear, it can keep me up nights when the Gymbo stuff gets separated! Nutty, I know, but at least the moms here can relate.

As far as DVC, what happens is, we put in an offer on a resale contract through the Timeshare Store (not directly through Disney). You can save money this way, but Disney has the right to step in and buy the points itself, then turn around and sell them to waitlisted people for a higher price than they bought it for. We had to go resale to get Beach Club--Disney is only currently selling Saratoga Springs (although we could ahve gotten on the Beach Club wait list). Since we weren't in a rush, we figured we'd sit around and see if a contract came up that was what we needed (lots of points, stripped for '07, Beach Club, lower price). "Stripped" means the points for '07 have been used--not a problem for us since we aren't going until '08. But most people buy and want to go fairly soon, so stripped contracts are cheaper. Anyway, suffice it to say that DVC adds a whole 'nother layer to WDW planning, but in a good way. It made sense for us since we had an unexpected chunk of money coming in, and we can't do a standard hotel room any longer. I hope I haven't totally confused you!

Jill- yes, I’m handling the closing. The fall is flying by- pretty soon you’ll be in WDW!

Hillbeans- LOL about storing the nuva ring in the fridge. That would be dangerous in my house. DH keeps storing the teething rings in the fridge for Livvie and I could see that becoming a bad sit-com situation very quickly.

Alice- mmmm retail therapy is the best.

BNB- Congrats on the DVC! I’m sure your family is really excited. The Rockette’s camp was really cool. I think Jocelyn would really enjoy it if you could take her.

Bellacam- I’m glad you got to avoid surgery!

I just found out that the closing is going to be a BEAR today. The seller’s had admitted they still had stuff in the garage, but at the walk through this morning, there was still stuff all over the house! Pretty amazing considering that they got possession to their new house about 7-8 weeks ago.

The bridal show turned out ok. I ate way too much chocolate (godivas, chocolate covered pretzels and marshmallows in the chocolate fountain), and drank a couple of “rum margheritas”, which were really just blue fruity juice. We also got our nails done for free. I was glad to pick up Olivia and go home though. She slept in past 7:30 this morning, which made for a relaxing morning.

Today is actually my 4th wedding anniversary, but we have no time to celebrate, so I think we’re going to TRY to do dinner and a movie tomorrow while MIL watches Olivia. Otherwise, my weekend plans are nil. We’re doing yardwork tomorrow, and I have a client coming in on Sunday to work on a new real estate deal.

OK, time to find something professional to wear to the closing.

Good morning all! Today is my first day watching the baby. And surprisingly, it's going really well. Lucky for me the baby is a very mild mannered baby. I forgot (forgive me, new moms) how "easy" newborns are--and I"m comparing this to a 1 year old and a 3 year old. He just sits and eats, and sleeps and poops. Kinda nice to lay a child down and him be in the same place when I get back. The only problem I'm having is Matthew is a little jealous. The child who, if ya'll remember, wouldn't take a bottle until 9 months, now screams for one when cole gets his. Go figure! But I have to admit, this is pretty easy money!

Ugh, I think we missed the garbage man this week. I totally forgot that veterans day is this weekend, so I think the city holiday is today. but I can't find my holiday schedule anywhere (and wouldn't you know it's not online) so I don't know if they picked up yesterday or hopefully they'll get us Monday. Our bin is completely full--so I don't know where next week's trash is going.

This weekend is not terribly busy for us, but we do have a bday party for Matthew's bday buddy tomorrow (they are 3 days apart). that should be fun, and then church on Sunday. Oh, and I agree with Loretta, I would love to have our date extended just a bit if possible. My gift isn't going overseas (narrows it down doesn't it) so for me an extension wouldn't cause a problem with shipping.

Our playgroup yesterday went very well. I can't believe that we've lived here for 4 months or so now, and just now went across the street to play with the neighbor kids. And the cool thing is, She loves disney too!!! They have the coolest Mickey head thing on their trailer hitch on the truck. I'll be looking for one when we're at the world in April.

BNB--Congrats on getting through ROFR!!! :cheer2: BCV sounds wonderful! Glad you could get exactly what you were looking for, and at a cheaper price--now for the planning!!

Z--have fun with your sis and her DH! Cookies sound sooooo good!

Alice--hope you can get that pink eye cleared up! Sounds like you got some great shopping done. when I was in Williams Sonoma the other day I also had the pumpkin bread and butter! Yummo!! Also, LOVE, LOVE their mulling spices for cider and wine. Always snag a cup when I'm in the store! We've just had this new outdoor mall open up and it's really cool, with Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, White House Black Market, Chicos, Children's Place, Harolds, and a Sax soon to be opening--a high end mall in Arkansas--who'd a thought!

Gina--good luck with the closing! I can't believe that the previous owners still have stuff in the house--with having 7 weeks to move into the new place. Some people!

jill--good luck with your last day with the 5th graders! Sorry your babysitter had to cancel--but how nice of your DH for staying home with John!

SL--LOL about the baby toupees!!! I definitley could've used one for Emma--maybe some of Lucas's curls would've made her look more girly! :rotfl2:

Well, I better go check on the baby and see what trouble my 2 have gotten into! TGIF!!!

I think I sat on my brain too long and got shut out of the class I wanted. It may actually work out ok though since there is a prerequisite for it that I have not taken and I'll probably end up taking that. Only problem is, it's on 5 consecutive Saturdays from 8:30-3:30 on a satellite campus which is an HOUR away from my house. Ugh.

fab - Hope you get to talk a walk outside today. Thanks for the exchange amount info.

Z - Happy anniversary! I wouldn't mind an extension on the exchange mailing date.

BnB - I think I said it before, but congrats again on the DVC! I just love  the whole Epcot resort area and we're staying at the Beach Club next year (hopefully!).

GM - Happy anniversary! I hope you find some time to celebrate.

nucpharm - Glad your sitting is going well. My friend's DS (almost 2) is named Cole. I never really heard that name much until recently. Hope Matthew gets over the jealousy!

Lunch break is over...back to work!

Bridget~ I am glad Aidan doesn't need surgery afterall!

Loretta~ I am okay with an extension as well. I know it will be at least the 17th before I have time to mail my package. I haven't even found a box for it yet! I am just really busy right now too. I thought my PM from Gems said the deadline was the 19th but I guess I read that wrong or I got a typo or something.

Hillbeans~ I don't blame you for not making any definite decisions on whether you are done having kids or not. Dh is content with just Kylie but he would be okay with 2 so I am sure I'm not done. It seems like everyone in my class is pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant. A girl who has a toddler 2 months older than Kylie just told us she is 2.5 months pregnant now. A really good friend in my class wants a baby and she and her dh are thinking of trying soon. It's a little hard seeing the pregnant ladies because if I wasn't in school we had been thinking of ttc #2 right about now. It's bad timing with school so we aren't and I am okay with that. Still, it's hard seeing other pregnant women knowing that had been my original plans. I know I'm not quite ready for #2 though. I sure couldn't afford the daycare for 2 while I am in school. Maybe in about a year I will be ready to start trying. Who knows? I don't mind being pregnant while in school as long as the baby comes after I graduate.

On a more personal note, I have 2 months left of bc pills with my prescription. I have absolutely no libido when I am on those. I have thought about going off the pill when my prescription runs out but just being extra careful until we are ready to start trying for another baby. I hate never being in the mood and I know dh hates it too. I have never had any pregnancy scares even when I wasn't on the pill. Now that I am in school though I just worry that it would happen now since it would be so inconvenient. So I am not sure what I am going to do about that. We are always careful but you never know!

BnBsMom~ I noticed in the pictures you posted recently that Jocelyn is a tiny thing. My brothers are both younger than me and both are also taller than me. My one brother just turned 17 and is bigger than me. And I am 5'6 so I'm not exactly short. But they are both somewhere in the 6' range.

Anyway, I noticed there are a lot of November wedding anniversaries on here. Count Dh and me among them! Our 7th anniversary is the 27th of this month. I am looking forward to a kid-free night with just dh. We will probably just do dinner and a movie but that sounds like Heaven to me! Happy anniversary to all you others who are celebrating this month! :)

One of my teachers told me yesterday that we are having a Thanksgiving party at school on the Tues. before we have our Thanksgiving break. Everyone is bringing a dish. I saw the list of what everyone signed up for and OMG! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Dh's family's church is looking for a new pastor and they have a guy in mind who will be there on this Sunday night so they are doing their annual Thanksgiving dinner after the service to feed his family. It's a bit early but that's okay. Dh, Kylie, and I are going to see if we like the new preacher and want to start going to church there again or not. That means we also will be having dinner there and I know for a fact there will be tons of delicious food as those church women go all out if I remember from when we went there about 5 years ago. And of course we have a huge get-together at dh's grandmother's on Thanksgiving so I am probably going to gain 10 lbs by the time the holiday is over. And of course then comes Christmas and all that food! I think I'd better put Jenny Craig on speed dial now!

Well, 2 more weeks of my online classes and 4 more weeks of my regular classes and I am done this semester! Of course I am registered for my Spring classes and my load is heavier than it was this semester. I don't have to take any online classes though. I am going to really make good use of enjoying Christmas break since I know I will be stressed again next semester with the load I have. The sad part is next year will be even fuller than that! I will no doubt be institutionalized by this time next year.

Oh, and the weather here doesn't seem to realize that Winter is on its way. It is 78 degrees here today! No wonder I can't get over this cold! Well, I need to go get lunch ready for Kylie. Hope everyone is well. Next weekend I become a hunting season widow as that is when deer season begins for dh. He is beyond excited of course. It is also Kylie's pageant. This Saturday is the only free weekend we have for a while so dh and I really plan to live it up and clean the house! We are such partiers! I do have a really big exam to study for too but that's it. I can't believe that's the only homework I have this weekend. That is a first!

ETA: J&D~ Thanks for the link to the freebies! I signed up to get the sippy cup. Can't have too many of those, especially when they are free, right?

tasha - I stopped taking the pill for the same reason. I feel a million times better! It's not a lot of fun to use other forms of protection, but it's better than no nookie at all! ;)

sl - not a very convenient schedule for that other class, yuck!

nucpharm - My girlfriend with a 5 and 3 year old just had a baby and she was saying how nice it was to have a quiet-stay-in-one-place baby again too.

z - Enjoy the time with your sister!

alice - sounds like you got some fun stuff shopping. I LOVE Williams Sonoma! I just got some nice spatulas from there for a bday gift. I would never splurge on them myself, so it was fun to get them. sorry the pink eye is back!

hillary - OMG, lol at your gyno experience! The glow in the dark necklace reference had me cracking up.

gina - I can't believe those people had a bunch of stuff left in their house! Happy Anniversary!

lissawynn - Windows! How exciting! It will be great to get your house sealed up again and protected from the elements.

bellacam - That's great that Aidan won't have to have surgery! How are you feeling?

bnb - Congrats on the DVC thing! I had no idea Disney could do that through the time share store.

My exchange will be going out a few days late, because I won't be home in time to ship and it and I want to shop in WDW for the gift.

Hi to everyone I missed!!

Good afternoon Moms! :sunny:

Well, I’m wiped out! School was fun and it was a little sad to go, but I really need time to catch up with my schoolwork now. I’m wondering which school they will place me at next semester. I’m hoping it is close. The school I was at for the past few weeks was just 5 minutes away. :thumbsup2

Since I couldn’t study this afternoon, John and I hit the mall to try to finish up shopping for my exchange buddy. I’m not quite done yet, but I did manage to snag a few things. I suppose that I should start thinking about Christmas shopping too! I am so behind!

BNBmom – Congrats for getting the DVC points! :thumbsup2 I’ve been eyeballing the Timeshare store that sells DVC. I need to wait until I get a pay check coming in here before I can do anything, but having DVC would be so much better for us. Did you survive Wal-Mart this morning?

Robin – I’m sorry to hear that the pinkeye is back! I hope that they can give you some heavy duty medicine to wipe it out for good. It sounds like you had a great time in ‘retail therapy’ too! As far as my next semester goes, it should be a lot better than this one. I only have two classes left, but I have a professor that likes to load on the work. I still don’t think it will be as crazy as this one has been.

Dizagain – Sorry to hear that Carson was fussy for you last night. :grouphug: When does your dh come back from his trip? I hope Carson is a happy guy today.

Hillbeans – The Nuva Ring description along with J&D’s picture cracked me up. :lmao: Ok, personal question hear….does the ring feel funny when you wear it? Also, it is really tough to ‘shut the door’ on having another baby. My decision was made for me, but every time I see a newborn I still get a little bit of the baby pang feeling. I suppose that is normal for woman to have that feeling. I know that you struggled to have your kids but you are still young so you have plenty of time to see what you and your dh want to do. :goodvibes

J&D – It is great to see you posting again!! Thanks for the links to the freebies!

Lissawynn – I can’t wait to see pictures of your renovations.

Floridafam – Glad to hear your conferences went very well.

Fabumouse – That is great that the playdate went well! I feel funny as well about not bringing home a paycheck and I’ve been feeling a lot worse about it since I’ve had to get a lot of extra stuff for school and pay for someone to babysit John. My dh never gives me a hard time about it, but I still feel funny. BTW, were you ever able to take that walk?

SL – Sorry to hear that you missed out on the class and the one you need to take is an hour away. Ugh. Well at least it won’t last a whole semester, but driving far to school is still a pain.

Zalansky – Have a great time with your sister this weekend!! I’m okay with an extension on the gift exchange as well. Whoever has Gems might want to ship soon, b/c it took my package 6 weeks to get to her for our last exchange. My package store told me it would be 2 to 4 weeks. Anyway, whoever has me don’t worry about getting it out anytime soon.

Ginamarie – HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! I hope that you are able to get out for dinner and a movie tomorrow night!

Nucpharm – I’m glad to hear that the babysitting is working out well for you today!

Tasha – Good luck with your exam next week! It sounds like next semester is going to be crazy for you. Hang in there! The time will really fly by fast for you.

Tamie – Have a great time in WDW!!!! :wizard:

Well, I better run. No exciting weekend plans here. Both the girls have their soccer tournament so that means 6 games this weekend. If they win their slots then that means two more games. Ay yi yi!!! Well, at least the weather won’t be frigid!

Everyone have a great weekend! :wave2:

It is sleeting, raining, snowing, lightening and thundering and miserable out there. Thank goodness my neighbor has offered to pick up DD after she picks her dd up from school - as long as I watch her son. No problem with that! :thumbsup2 I just hope they connect okay as it is rather chaotic at dd's school, especially on days like this as there is no bussing so it's about 300 cars picking up kids.

There is actually white stuff on the ground. ick. So glad I don't have to walk. I REALLY need one of those plastic stroller covers, anyone have a suggestion? I've never looked into them before.

SL - what a commitment you have to make for that class.

Robin - glad you found the sweater, I hope you make it to the dr this evening. Glad the nurse yesterday was nice about you being seen.

Hillbeans - I'm with you on not being able to say no to being open to another baby. I am sure we are done, but am not ready to say no forever yet.

Diskim - how was the show? Did you drive?

Tamie - don't feel bad, I think my gift may be going out late too, as without access to a car, shopping is challenging -- and dh doesn't usually get home until 8 p.m.

Gems - Is it ok if our packages are a few days late? I promise to have it out by next weekend the latest! I think I do have most of the stuff already, but need to go through and see.

nucpharm - I've never had a quiet baby, but I can imagine having a little bundle like that around must be wonderful!

jill - good luck with soccer this weekend, that's a lot of games!

bnb, J&D - gosh, yesterday seems so long ago. DS got approved to be "officially" tested for speech therapy. I have some paperwork to pick up and sign on Monday. Then dd's speech therapist called me today to meet next week. Neither has major problems, just enough that is better to address now while they are young so as not to impair their reading/phonics learning.

ugh, gotta run, chat more later.

HI DIS mommies!!!
