lissawynn,

Will your neighbor let you look at her drywall? That is one of the things that I hate thinking about when we add on. There are a lot of people out there who suck at drywall. My parents had to have a bunch in their house redone after they built because it looked so crappy.

We're just working on the house all day. DH was digging up our little island we have out front to plant stuff and uncovered about a zillion fire ants in a 2 ft tall pile.

:scared1: :scared1:

I'll be back later to get caught up. :wave2:

Val~ I saw a music/jewelry box today at Costco! Do you have Costco? It's a nice big one, with Ariel in it. I'll look again later today (I have to go back to grab something for Sam) if it actually plays music. I would think so, for the price it is. Lots of compartments, etc. It was $25. If you want it, and don't have Costco, I could get it for you and mail it. I called my mom about it, as she wants to give Molly a jewelry box with pretend jewels in it for Christmas.

Val & Fab- thank you fo the compliments on my fiscal restraint. :rotfl: It made me laugh because most of the time I feel like a loser in the budget dept. Our one credit card is at 5K. but that's it. We used to have 3 like that! I am hoping to get it down to 2-3K before we go, as I know we will be charging another 2-3K once we're there. Whatever.

BNB- WAY TO GO on Luke sleeping thru the night! And for the portrait session going so well! Woo! :cheer2:

Tamie- Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take lots of pictures! I don't know where you could hop on a computer. I feel like maybe the Contemporary has business center?

OK, I need to go- I have cleaning to do, and I need to go back to Costco to get Sam a Christmas gift I saw- that Blue Man Group Keyboard! He's gonna rock the house like Ross on that Friend's episode! :rotfl2: :lmao:

HI Ladies!! Quick Mom brag here!
Kevin scored a GOAL today in Soccer and they "won" 3-1. We were all so excited, and a little surprised too - because a few games ago he was really just running around and following the other kids. It's so nice to see him learning the game and having fun. He was so thrilled, and said it was his "best day ever" :)

J&D - LOL at your "Glow Bracelet" photo - that was soooo funny! And that's what it looks like also except it's not neon green ;) .

Buzznbelle - I haven't seen the commercials for it yet, however my Doctor did tell me that when the sales reps came to visit him at the office that he told them they need to jazz up their advertising and make it seem less "weird". From what i've researched on line, it's 99% effective and has very minimal side effects. We'll see.

LOL Alice - I have this mental image of you in the Doctor's office at 19. :rotfl: Sorry to hear that your pink eye came back. Hope the rainy weather is letting up some in the Pacific Northwest.

SL - I love Lucas' hair cut - he looks so different. I bet the person who cut his hair commented on what nice hair he has. Hope work has been going a little better for you.

Tamie - Hope I didn't miss you, but if I did have a great trip to WDW!!! I don't know about internet access, but i'm sure you'll find it somewhere around where you are staying. I also really like your playroom!

Is Justine back from WDW yet??

Bellacam - Great news about Aidan not needing surgery. What a relief! :grouphug:

Ginamarie - Happy 4th Wedding anniversary! Hope you can make it to a movie and dinner. Yes, I also had to laugh about keeping the Nuva Rings in the refrigerator??? :confused3

Cabmom - Sorry to hear about the PPD. :grouphug: At least you're taking care of yourself so that's the good first step. So glad to hear you had fun at the Great Wolf Lodge. We went to the one in the Pocono's last year for 2 nights and my son always talks about going back.

Nucpharm - I must have missed the post where you mentioned you were watching a baby. How many days of the week? Glad your first day went well. Are you still working every 4th weekend at the Pharmacy?

Tasha/Scott - I completely understand about the BCP's. I have always had a very hard time taking medicine (swallowing pills) so I didn't want to have to take pills every day. I'll see how this all works out and let you know. Glad to hear school is going well - just a few more weeks until winter break!

Jill - Glad you enjoyed your last day with the 5th graders. I'm sure you learned a lot from them and vice versa. I haven't started my christmas shopping yet either but at least I have an idea of what I need to buy. Sounds like you and John had a nice time at the mall. Oh, I don't start the ring until the sun. after my period, but you can't feel it at all. I do hope it works out for me, it seems so easy. Unfortunately Liam is such an awful sleeper, and with DH and my schedules, I can't imagine having another newborn - plus i'm almost 36. I also had a lot of issues getting pregnant and DH and I always said we wanted two children. Of course today on the way to soccer kevin announced that he "wants to have another baby - another boy". My husband and I just laughed.

Floridafam - OMG about the "fire ants". I hear they can be very hard to get rid of and they bite also. Be careful!!

Diskim - sorry to hear your 4 day weekend is not relaxing. Have a nice time getting your hair cut.

Alissa - Glad to hear that your roof and house is really coming along. Your neighbor sounds like a real piece of work. I hate people who try to scam to get something for nothing.

Fabumouse - Sounds like you had a great day at Soccer today also. WTG Kailey!!! :cheer2:

Dizagain - WTG Carson for sleeping through the night!!!! :woohoo: :) LOL at your neverending pile of laundry - we have that here and it's mostly from my husband - he changes his clothes constantly!

Gottalovethem - Sorry to hear you are having such awful weather. I hope you're having a nice relaxing weekend.

Vald - Glad to hear you did well on the slicer and that work is going well. Being really busy at work = more money!!!! :thumbsup2

Gems - Thanks for the reminder about the exchange. I hope you're still feeling well. :)

Hi to everyone I may have missed  !!!

Not much going on here, DH and I are laying low the rest of the weekend. We're kind of broke and are dieting, so we'll be home this weekend not spending money. We're trying to save up for Christmas shopping.

Gotta run!

Quick post. Here is an AG deal I found for DisKim, Dizagain, and all AG fans.

American Girl Backpack Tote- $10

http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/pro...oductId=2432980

Use code SHIPAG for free shipping with the purchase of the backpack. You don't need to purchase another AG product as stated.

We are headed to church and then to the mall to do some Christmas shopping.

Be back later or tomorrow.

Just an FYI if anyone buys the AG backpack from BBW. I think there is a code out ASPEN75 for $10 off a $30 purchase.

Val- the music box did play Under the Sea. :sunny:

Hi ladies....

I didn't go through the past few pages of posts so I am not sure what the final date of the exchange is or if anyone else needed or wanted an extension for the deadline. But my gift for my buddy will definitely not be getting out by the 15th. I will need at least another week and I am sorry.

We just returned from my father's house. The kids, Dh and I drove up with my sister and BIL earlier today. (they stayed over last night and had a great time) I am not sure what I've told you in the past but my Dad (now 73) had a massive stroke 4 years ago that left him paralyzed on his right side and he has been wheelchair bound since then. He had a girlfriend until this past Spring, when she finally left his life because if many reasons but mostly because she feared he was not doing well and couldn't bear going through the trauma of a possible long illness. TMI ALERT: He has had chronic diahrrea since March. He has lost weight. He sleeps alot but that could also be depression from being alone and the girlfriend leaving. My sisters and I have begged him to go to a specialist and I took him a month ago to see the doctor and he was scheduled for a colonoscopy this past week but cancelled it a day before he was to go in. My sister and BIL flew in Friday because we figured we'd have results for the procedure and could figure out what we needed to do from there. But like I said he didn't go and when we talk to him he lies and says he is fine and does not have diahrrea, just gas. Well, we went there today and when I saw him I almost passed out. I saw him only 4 weeks ago and since then he looks like he lost 15 more pounds and is very pale. The worst is his house reeked of urine and other waste. I ran outside and lost it, I know he is dying. My sister got lost and was 30 minutes behind us and when she came in she ran out and met me and cried too. He has no appetite at all and is in bed almost all day. The house smells so bad, I don't know how he stands it. We called my other two sisters and they are flying in tomorrow afternoon from New York. We are going to confront him gently and insist on taking him to the hospital Monday morning. He'll refuse and its going to be awful. My sister has power of attorney so we'll have to force him to go.
My Mom died in 1998 of cancer and this is all too familiar with different issues. I just can't believe we are about to go through it again.
I Googled his symtpoms and I honestly believe it is colon cancer.

Anyway, if you've read this far, thank you. Its late and I can't call people because they have small kids or are sleeping. So I am venting here. But also I want you all to know I am not slacking on my exchange buddy. I am just going through a very hard time. I hope you guys understand.

loretta,

Hugs to you. :grouphug: Please let us know what happens on Monday. We will be praying for you and your entire family. Feel free to e-mail or PM me if you want to talk.

Oh, Loretta! I am sooo sorry! :( Please know that you are in our prayers, as is the rest of your family, and don't worry about not meeting the deadline for the exchange. I know everyone completely understands! There are several of us that won't meet it either so you are not alone on that. I can't imagine what you must be going through and you will be in my thoughts on Monday.

:grouphug: Loretta :grouphug: . I'm so sorry about your father. I can't imagine how hard it must be. Please know we are thinking of you and if there is anything we can do.....

Don't even worry about the exchange.

Oh, Loretta - you must be going through hell.
I'm so sorry. :guilty:

loretta - I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this. My prayers will be with your family. hugs to you!

Tamie

:grouphug: to you, Loretta. Prayers for your father, you, and your family. I am so sorry. Please let us know how things are going when you get a chance. :grouphug:

Loretta - I am so sorry to hear about your father. I hope he agrees to go to the hospital without too much trouble. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Loretta - I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I'm glad your siblings are able to join you and offer support/help. I am sure your exchange buddy won't mind one bit. Hugs and prayers to you and your family.

It's been a day of TV watching today. Well, after taking DD to gymnastics. We watched Hook, Peter Pan, The Grinch who Stole Christmas (the original cartoon version) and now Wizard of Oz  I also cleaned up and rearranged the boys' bedroom and straightened dd's room.

Oh, and at 7:45 a.m. DD and DS were putting on snowsuits to play in the snow we got yesterday. They were quite excited. We got four inches of slush/snow and DH and I never got out to shovel today so tomorrow it may be pretty frozen, oh well. It happens.

DisKim - sounds like quite the outing you had! I have been comtemplating getting DD an AG doll, but not sure if she'd really treasure/appreciate it. She loves her My Little Pony's, so I may stick with those (costs less!). But an AG doll has been on my mind for a couple years . . . You have been busting your butt, I'm exhausted just thinking about all you are accomplishing  Good for you though, for getting so much done.

Hillbeans - I'm with you on the saving money weekend. I hope you and dh have a nice weekend together relaxing. Yeah for Kevin's goal.! I have to say, after hearing all you soccer mom's talking about hanging out for those games, I'm gonna stick with gymnastics, at least as long as they'll let me!

bnb - thanks for the tip on the stroller cover. I hope to get to the store tomorrow and see if there's anything locally, or if I need to order one. Great job on the photos. I have an appt. schedule next weekend and still need to warn DH about it, as I want our annual family photo. I would like to get some of the kids but don't want to spend a fortune, we'll see how it goes. A super Walmart just opened this week with a photo studio in there, are you happy with their packages and such? Glad Luke slept thru the night for you! he must look so cute with those little teeth!

J&D - hello, thanks for always sharing those great codes with us!!

Robin - make sure the keyboard has an "off" button - I learned that from experience :lmao: The jewelry box and jewelry sounds like a great idea for Molly!

FF - ewww about the fire ants!

fabumouse - yeah for Kailey being a great goalie! Stick her and Kevin (Hillbeans ds) and Jill's kids together and you can start and DIS team! :cheer2:

Tamie - have a great trip, can't wait to hear all about it!

GM - hope all is going well with you

Cabmom - I'm glad you are getting help with ppd, I suspected I had it earlier this year and got some help, but was more a stress thing than ppd, either way, help is always good. Hang in there! :grouphug: :wizard: I'm glad your trip went well. What handsome boys you have!

Jill - hope the soccer tournament is going/went well!

dizagain - if you learn anything good about those covers, let me know. I hope all is going well with dh's new adventure, keep us posted!

nucpharm - 80's, wow, hope you have a pool nearby! We got four inches of snow!! I didn't get to read how your play date went with the quiet neighbor the other day, I hope well. Glad Thanksgiving plans are working out for you.

Gem - I think I might actually have most of my gift, so it may actually get out on time, I'll pm you when I mail it! Thanks again for organizing. I hope you and the family are doing ok.

Bellacam - thinking of you!

Lissawynn - hope all is well.

Hi to all those I'm missing! Have a great rest of the weekend!

Loretta--Hugs and prayers to you and your family!! :grouphug: :grouphug: Don't even worry about your exchange getting out late--mine's getting out late and I don't really even have an excuse--except that I want to purchase some stuff at the shopping event on the 17th.

jill--LOL about Chuck E Cheese being the germ factory--I read that just after I booked Emma's party there. She insists it be there, and I refuse to have another party here so soon. So, Chuck E Cheese it is--must remember to buy lots of Purel! :rotfl:

hillbeans--I haven't even really started with Walgreen's ---I can't seem to get in there to finish my training, b/c I can only do it on night and weekends. DH hasn't been getting home until 7 or later in the evening, and i"m not driving all the way out there for 2 hours of work. And then our weekends have been extremely booked. So watching the little one is my little bit of spending money for right now

Well, that's about it from me tonight. DH and I had a "date" night and went out to a sports bar to watch the Arkansas football game!!! It was so much fun--I felt like a college co-ed again (if only I could fit into the jeans I wore back then  )

Anyway, I have to tell ya'll this story. So, today we went to a bday party for a little boy that's 3 days younger than Matthew. I'm really good friends with the mom and the dad works with my DH. Well, her (the mom's) mom was at the party. And my friend had made some really tasty sangria, so I was indulging just a bit. I was drinking out of those little party cups for kids, so not much at a time. So, I go up to fill my glass again (yes, for the 3rd time, but those cups are not big--it's not as if it were a pint glass) Well, my friend's mom looks at me and says "It looks as if you are drinking the whole pitcher by yourself" WTH, this woman doesn't even know me--and then she says "Well, I sure hope you are not driving home!" (and of course all of this was said in a "holier than thou" tone) I was just dumb founded, :confused3 of course I wasn't driving, and if for some reason I couldn't drive, we live less than a mile from her house. How rude!!! I wasn't stumbling, slurring my speach, or even buzzing for that matter--some people! I just had to laugh tonight when DH and I went to the sports bar tonight b/c we had to sit at the bar b/c those were the only seats available--I told DH "Wonder what my friend's mom would think of me now??" :rotfl: So on that lovely note, I'm off to bed! Have a great Sunday all!

Nuc- I always thought you were a lush! :rotfl: What a rude thing for that lady to say! Cause Sangria has such a high alcohol content to begin with...

GLT- sounds like you had a cozy day at home! We didn't do too much this afternoon and evening either. The boys won a few more levels on their Playstation game, I puttered, cleaned, washed all the bedding, went back to Costco to get that keyboard. And some cookies. Geez- what a difference crowds are at Costco at 10AM vs. 3PM. I seriously could not get through the frozen chicken aisle. It was a traffic jam due to the sample tables. Irritating.

OK, I pm'ed BNB this already, but I have to share. I came home from Costco, and OUT OF NOWHERE, DH says, "What do you know about the cost of DVC resale? Can it be done? Who do you go through? Do you think we could get VWL?" Here was me- :faint: . So we both did some research this afternoon about it, and DH says, "Whenever you are ready to do it, I'm in. I just have come to the realization we will be doing Disney every year or every other year, and this seems like an easy way to budget for it." (I'm laughing at the budget word). And here was me- Ms. Disney Freak becoming sane, "We just can't afford it right now. We need to pay that Visa off, and then maybe. Besides, we have a trip in the works for 2007, we don't need to really consider it until 2008. Maybe we will have the Visa paid off by then, and can afford the loan payment to DVC." Who knew I could be pragmatic and responsible about Disney?

Anyway, it was exciting that he said that, and that it might be a possibility in our future. We will definitely go the resale route I think, as we really would only consider Wilderness Lodge or POSSIBLY the Contemporary if they open that up. :bitelip:

There is a .05 click at Sunshine! :cheer2:

Loretta- Sending hugs and prayers your way!!! :grouphug:
Don't you worry at all about the exchange!!!

Tamie- Have an awesome trip!

Dizagain- Congrats to Carson for sleeping through the night.

DisKim- Glad you enjoyed your day in the big city.

cabmom- Cute pics.

lissawynn- That is some pathetic neighbor that you have. :sad2:

Valerie- Happy b-day to your grandmother. Enjoy the party. Glad to hear that your grandfather is doing well. I am surprised that they are waiting so long to remove the tumor. Everyone that I know that had cancerous tumors were scheduled for surgery immediately after diagnosis. Sending prayers for a safe and successful surgery.

fabumouse- I think those humidifiers at BB&B are so cute. Kudos to Kailey for being a super goalie today. :cheer2:

BnBM- Congrats to Luke for sleeping through the night and cutting those teeth. :woohoo:

Hillbeans- Congrats to Kevin for scoring a goal today! :thumbsup2

Jill- How was soccer in your neck of the woods today?
sport-smiley-019.gif

nucpharm- A local CEC was featured on the news for receiving a very bad health inspection. They were cited for things like having a CEC costume that was never cleaned and for storing that costume in the food prep area.

Alice- Congrats on the possibility of buying into DVC! :cool1: Happy Veteran's Day to your DH!!! :thanks:
Were there any parades or celebrations in your area?

Hi to all other DIS moms!

Have a super Sunday!!!

:grouphug: Loretta - I am so sorry you have to go thru this. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
