Zalansky you had me cracking up about going to the pumpkin patch "as a family". That's my most used expression with my husband. Every time an activity comes up that he's not thrilled about he'll act as though he's not joining us. Not sure why he bothers cause he has yet to get out of a "family activity" but he still puts out an effort. Our next family activity will be the pumpkin patch either today or Monday, depending on what time he gets home from work this afternoon.

I have a question for you, or any other DVCers or whoever knows! Is AKL not a popular resort? I noticed that you mentioned that it's never at capacity, but did you mean just concierge or the whole resort? What are they going to do with their concierge since DVC will be taking over those floors? Has that info been released yet or are they not saying? And are the rooms they're converting all the 5th and 6th floor rooms or just certain wings? Do we know where exactly the new building will be built or not yet? I know we won't buy into DVC, but now that I have been introduced to the world of renting points I'm pretty excited to try out a villa there. :) Sorry, I know that's a ton of questions that probably no one knows about yet, but I love that resort so the idea of getting to stay there cheaper is very appealing! My husband kinda wrote it off after our last trip there when Madison was 14 months cause the buses were a pain, but if we can rent points to stay there again I think he'll be up for it. :thumbsup2

Bellacam, your nephew is precious! Henry's only 2 months old but already I forget how tiny they are at birth. I bet holding him gets you excited for your new one! Try not to worry too much about measurements cause they're not always so accurate. I had an ultrasound at 35 weeks 1 day and Henry's head was measuring ridiculously large, over 5 weeks ahead. Then he was born the next week and his head was only in the 10th percentile, which believe me I was thrilled about. ;)

Cabmom, I love your boys in their costumes! Henry is going to be Pooh also. Maybe I'll stick him in it later to take a photo. Madison would love that cause she'd live in her costume if I let her!

Henry just started to scream in the swing. Time to go!

Hi ladies! Lucas is feeling a little better, poop-wise. He still has that nasty rash all over. He's on a no dairy diet for a couple days which is killing us all because he's a big cheese and yogurt eater. That doesn't leave us much else that he'll eat for meals.

justhat - He woke up yesterday with the swollen cheeks. They look a little better now but it's definitely still noticable. We don't have any food allergies in my family, just environmental ones. Plus, I'm allergic to codeine. I think he'll probably outgrow this (hopefully).

fabumouse - Yes, the shows at WDW are much too loud. I never realized how loud Philharmagic was until we took Lucas.

DisKim - I'm glad you're feeling better about those kids in your class.

BnB - Good luck with the DVC decision!

lissawynn - Hope you're feeling better.

J&D - I hope you get your computer fixed soon. I got a laptop a couple years ago and love it. I hope Santa will bring you one. Congrats to your DH's team for winning the game!

Alice28 - Love the pumpkin patch pictures! I hope no one else gets pinkeye.

floridafam - My favorite is the ghost hobo.

glt - What a major bummer about that health insurance. My employer offers terrible insurance so I'm really glad we can all be on DH's even though it's not that great. I beginning to realize they all suck.

zalansky - Have fun at the pumpkin patch as a FAMILY! ;)

gem - Good luck planning Shelby's birthday party!

nucpharm - Glad Matthew is feeling better.

cabmom - Love the pictures! The pooh costume is like Lucas' Mickey costume.

bellacam - I love your pictures. Your nephew is adorable!

ginamarie - That's great that your SIL can join you for part of your trip. My SIL and BIL as well as DH's cousin and her husband came to WDW when we were there for a couple days. Lucas loves his auntie so it was great for all of us.

disneydancer - Congratulations and welcome! :sunny:

My sister has organized some sort of game night tonight so we're going to try to stop by her house tonight. I really want to show everyone our trip pictures so I don't mind stopping by for a little while. Tomorrow is our day to go to the pumpkin patch. There's not much to do there besides a hayride to the acutal patch so we shouldn't be too exhausted after that. SIL wants to come with us, too. Her DH is a new cop so he works 2nd and 3rd shift so she's bored during the day a lot.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

I have a moment of solitude while Henry is finally napping and Madison is watching the WDW planning dvd. Her choice. :teeth:

:welcome: Welcome disneydancer!! Congrats on your little girl! I'm on my second kid and still have plenty of questions. ;)

J&D, sorry to hear about one of the players on your husband's team. I really hope he starts doing better.
Thanks for that story. I had seen it in an email before but took the opportunity to send it to my husband today. He thought it was very funny and added that he asks himself all the time what I do all day.

Ginamarie, that's great that your SIL gets to come along with you. Have fun adding to your itinerary!

Lissawynn, enjoy your nephew's birthday party! I have to do my Gymbo order today too. I've been putting it off cause I like a lot of the boys shirts but only want to get 1 or 2 so I have to narrow it down.

Ouch on the medical insurance GLT! In med school we had to buy insurance and it was expensive. Some of our friends just bought insurance for themselves and then since they had no income they qualified for medicaid for their kids. We didn't do that so I can't really tell you how it works, other than for my friends, when their 3rd child was born, to add him to their insurance would have been an extra $500/month!

Henry's starting to complain again.

Gem - is Shelby walking? I'm just thinking back to the days when DD was 1 and I was pg with DS If I lived close by I'd help you out after the babe was born! How fun planning Shelby's 1st b'day!! I am sure you will pick some great (and easy) goodies! Have fun planning. When exactly is her b'day?

No she's not walking yet and it's killing me! I have to haul her everywhere as well as hauling myself! She is quite close now I think it's just a confidence thing to be honest. Her birthday is Saturday, I can't believe that she is 1 already this year seems to have flown by.

I wish you all lived closer to me! :guilty: It would be great to hang out with you guys.

Cabmom and Bellacam - I love the pictures, they are great!

Welcome Disneydancer! :dance3:

SL - I am glad that Lucas seems to be improving, we are so lucky that Shelby doesn't appear to have any allergies that we have come across so far. :grouphug:

Nuchpharm - When Shelby had her teeth coming in she also got a fever - I don;t believe what they say about it not being a symtom of teething. All kids are different! Make sure you post a pic of Emma as a fairy! She sounds adorable!

Wow DH actually bathed the baby!! That's gotta be the first time in a month!! Woo hoo!

Gem - yeah on DH giving Shelby a bath! DD walked at 12 1/2 months, so I'm sure that Shelby will be trotting in no time!

justhat - funny about the disney dvd planning video! $500/month to add a child is insane. Insurance, it's needed, but it bites!

Zalansky - looks like you've been appointed the DIS Mom DVC specialist ;) Thanks for helping all of us non-knowledgable ones out!

GM - So, if the Mets go to the World Series are you buying tickets? That would be quite the opportunity. I'm bummed they lost last night.

SL - poor Lucas. If he's been eating these foods all along I seriously doubt that's what's causing the allergies. I sure hope he feels better soon! Have fun pumpkin hunting. Are your photos in albums already? That's great. I hope you have fun sharing the pics and playing games tonight.

Disneydancer - welcome! I hope you are enjoying your baby, whom I'm sure will be creeping around the house in no time.

bellacam - what a cute pic with Baby James, he's adorable! Ohh, to have an infant again, part of me loves the idea, the other part, not so much. Aidan is adorable! You are in the final countdown! Hang in there. :grouphug: :wizard:

cabmom - love the costumes! The captain hook one is awesome, I'm thinking ds would love it -- does it happen to be a size 6? The kids are adorable, love the Pooh! I'm still not sure what Leif will be for Halloween.

lissawynn - sounds like you are busy today. Good luck with all you want to get done!

We don't have much planned for the rest of the day. I made homemade waffles this a.m. (from scratch), dropped DD off at gymnastics, stopped by the consignment store (to drop off and buy, found a Hanna Anderson outfit for $6 :thumbsup2 ), watched the rest of DD's practice, stopped by a friend's house and came home to have lunch and relax. It's much too cold and windy to hang out outside so I'm not sure what the afternoon will bring.

Hope DIS moms are having a great day!

Hi all,
Just so you don't think I dropped off the planet my computer is fried. I'm over at my neighbors right now so I could post and tell you all. I don't have time to go back and read posts but I hope everyone is doing well. We should be getting our new computer in a couple of weeks so I will be back then. I miss the DIS :( ! I sent out my exchange package of Wednesday, Oct. 11th. I don't know if it has arrived yet but if not than it should by Monday.
Take care, all.

Hiya Moms!

What great pictures Cabmom! The kids look so cute!

Bellacam- I love how the baby is looking at you in that first pic! So darn sweet! I too sometimes long for a newborn, but not a new one- I wish I could just transport myself back in time and hold my kids again when they were teeny.

Justhat- that's a shame the Nat'l Zoo is in such crummy shape. I always thought it would be this fabulous zoo, like the San Diego one. I have to say that the Portland Zoo has done a ton of improvements over the last 10 years- it's quite a good zoo.

Gems- sounds like you have quite the party planned- I love Costco for all party stuff. So handy, and the price is certainly right. I hope Shelby walks for you soon! I wish we all lived closer too- sometimes I feel like I am quite isolated, even though I have several friends here. We're all just so busy with our family's schedules, that it is near impossible to get together.

GLT- score on the Hannah outfit! I'm sorry your health insurance is so expensive. We are blessed that we haven't had to deal with that- one of us has always worked for either a school district or now DH with Kaiser that I don't think we've ever paid over $85 a month for our part of it, and $10 co pays. Right now we pay $20 copays since he's on probation til 11/1 and then it will go to $5. Anyway, I think it's a crime at the cost of health insurance. I'm not sure what can be done about it, but it's so sad to see some families crippled by the cost of one hospital stay, etc.

WELCOME DISNEY DANCER! You will have to tell us what you did for Disney- that must have been fun!

SL- I hope Lucas feels better soon- that no dairy stuff is a bummer, isn't it? Have fun showing off your pics to your family!

GM- good news that SIL can join you on your trip! I bought a new Tink folder today at the store to put all my papers, etc in for our trip. The 2007 Passporter won't be out til the end of Nov., and I haven't decided if I really need a new one. I mean, I have 4 sitting on the shelf right now, and the last one I didn't use too much. They sure are nice though! I preordered one for my mother, so I can preview it and see if I truly 'need' it or not.

lissawynn- hope you were able to get your Gymbo stuff? Are you ordering some girl stuff this order? princess: :teeth: I dressed Molly in some Old Navy stuff today and it's snug- I swear, I just love Gymbo's fit on her. It works. I like Hallmark cards too, or specialty cards in a card shop.....I'm funny that way I guess.

Nucpharm- is Matthew still doing ok? Scary when they wake up like that with a fever.

Kim- glad you are feeling better about your students. :goodvibes

J&D- I am so cutting and pasting that story for an email for my mom friends...and my DH!

Today has been a low key day so far. I took the boys to Kmart to spend their allowances they'd been saving. Geez, wouldn't you know it, they had the little Star Wars toys Josh has been jonesin for for MONTHS. Target and Fred Meyer were ALWAYS out of the new ones. And guess who just ordered all of them off the Hasbro site for him for Christmas? :rolleyes1 I couldn't tell him no though, so he got the pair he really likes and I will just return the one from Hasbro when I get it. Does anyone else's little boys LOVE the Galactic Heroes? We have had almost all of them, and the ones he was sick of, we sold for big bucks on ebay (apparently he had some of the rare ones). Then we bought some snack stuff, got lunch, drove by some houses for sale (Why do I keep doing this? Nothing I like is under $400K!). DH is on his military drill all day today and tomorrow, and it's gray and misty here. I cleaned out our computer armoire this AM and that felt good. I was at my mom's house yesterday and her house is always so tidy and well decorated- I feel like a slob.

I need your input- I'm doing a baby shower for my neighbor in 2 weeks. It's at 2 and I did it at that time so I didn't have to serve lunch. But I have a real problem inviting people in my house and not serving food. But, as I posted before, I am spending almost my whole food budget on that HEAVENLY cake for $40. But I am thinking I should still go grab one of those veggie trays at Costco, maybe a big jar of nuts, and 1 more thing- something hot----some sort of appetizer thing. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe those mini quiches, but I dunno.....I'm contemplating making a run to Trader Joes, cause they always have such interesting frozen foods. If I can keep it under $20, that would be fine....I think there will be 10-11 of us, so it's not a ton of food. I already have everything else bought- the gifts, the paper goods, the decorations (except flowers), the prizes, the favors.

Anyway, hope everyone has a pleasant Saturday afternoon and evening!

Well, apparently, the broken fever was just a fluke--Matthew is back to over 102 and DH is right there with him (needless to say we have a severe case of the "man flu" here now). But I don't know what to do about Matthew--we don't have any of those walk in clinics here and I REALLY don't want to have to pay to take him to the ER--especially if they tell me it's nothing, just give him ibu. and tylenol (like I don't know that already). And I don't really want to page the pediatrician on call--I think I'm going to wait and see if his fever will come down again--we've been alternating ibu and tylenol and he just had a dose of the tylenol. If this doesn't help I'll page the doc. It's weird b/c this is the first time he's been sick since birth, so I"m a little freaked out. You'd think I was a new mom! Will check in later--I"m trying to Emma away from the sicko's so hopefully she'll stay healthy!

Hey ladies, just thought I would post again and give you an update on Matthew. Well, Emma and I went to church and left the sick men at home. When we got back, Matthew's temp had gone up to 103.4--I was freaking out! So I paged the doctor on call and here's what we found out. Apparently, there is a bad virus going around the state that causes extremely high fevers-around 105. So, unless it gets to 105 and we can't give any more tylenol or ibuprofen or he starts to have febrile seizures--we just have to wait it out--another 2-3 days. Guess I won't be doing anything fun for the next few days. Send some prayers our way that Emma and I don't catch the ickiness, and that Matthew gets better soon (the "man flu"is about over! ;) )

DisneyDancer- Welcome to the thread! My DD is 6 months now, so they’re close in age.

SL- Glad Lucas is feeling better.

GLT- I wish I could get tickets for the World Series. They had a lotto for opportunities to buy tickets, but I didn’t get picked. A couple of my friends got lotto spots for the other rounds of the playoffs, but none of us had luck for the world series. I was pretty bummed because DH’s DREAM is to see the Mets in the WS. They’d better win tonight!

Alice- I can’t have people over the house without serving food either. It’s the Italian upbringing- everything has to be about food. An appetizer thing I love to make is something my MIL introduced me to.. you just take a package of frozen spinach, heat it in a pot with some velveta, and then wrap it in pieces of crescent rolls. Then heat them in the oven until the crescent rolls are hot and a little browned. It’s cheap, easy, and quick to make, and it tastes sooo good.

Nucpharm- I’m sorry Matthew is so sick. Personally, I’d let him rest a little and if the fever stays up I’d call the pediatrician on call. I always hate bothering doctors late at night, but I wouldn’t want to take chances when his fever is so high :(

We got Olivia’s Halloween costume out. She’s going to be such a cute Kermit! DBro got out his dragon costume, and insists he wants to wear that instead of being a pirate, so they’ll be all green and fluffy. We’re going to MIL’s house tomorrow for brunch, so hopefully I’ll get the details I need to start amending our Disney reservations.

Happy Saturday night, everyone. Madeleine and I had a lovely walk today with the Bjorn. ;)

GLT - I would be just sick about a $4000 deductible. Madeleine's bills (because she aspirated the meconium) came to around $45,000, but our deductible is $100 per person, with a $1000 total PP max.

And I also felt like Kailey was going to fall out or wring her neck in the sling!

J&D - I got a huge grin on my face with the "go to Disney" comment. I am sooooo hoping that's our experience. What did you do with Jenna (rides, activities, etc) that made it so special?

And I LOVED that "What do you do all Day?" post. My DH has never, ever asked me that, and I love him for it. But . .. I've had many professional friends who just don't understand how being a mom can fill up an entire day.

Nucpharm - I'm so sorry about the fever! :guilty: If you feel AT ALL concerned - you call that doctor, I don't care what time it is. That's why he owns a house on Martha's Vineyard, and I don't. :thumbsup2

ETA - I still feel this way - and I'm crossing my fingers for you and your family. :grouphug:

Cabmom - great photos!!!

Bellacam - your nephew is adorable!

Ginamarie - I keep watching the Cruise threads and they are hoping for release dates by the end of the year. So am I. :teeth: Do you know what room you want? Are you going to call Disney directly to book? That's great that SIL can come!!! I wish my SIL would be a little more flexible - Kailey loves her to death.

SL - how was game night??

Val - you probably won't read this - but having your computer fried - sucks!!! I'm so sorry. :guilty:

Robin - we received all of the holiday Gymbo stuff yesterday! OMG! The dresses for the girls are so cute. Kailey loves the fake pearls, and the ruffle-butt tights? To die for. Good luck on the shower - I've never thrown one, so I'd be just throwing out random guesses.

Justhat - good to know that Davids Coco is doing well.

Oh, what an evening!

The cat showed up! The uber-annoying neighbor kid shows up on my porch (like he does 1-3 times a day) and I about all set to shoo him away and he yells, "But I found your cat!" I was like, "Wuh??" Sure enough, there was Jack, drinking some water. And man, his ears were NASTY NASTY NASTY. I immediately went inside, called the vet, got the emergency vet number and loaded Jack and ALL 3 kids up in the car (this is right at dinner time too- can we say corn dogs and PBJ in the car?) and headed to the emergi-vet clinic.

$120 later and Jack has had a cortizone shot and new meds. Other than that he looks good- playful, didn't lose any weight- in fact gained 2 oz., and the doctor said he wasn't at all dehydrated. My son is quite pleased his cat is back. :thumbsup2

Blech, I get queasy just thinking about his poor ears.

So, I just finished up a lovely Lean Cuisine....DH is at some freaking fancy military dinner that he HAD to go to- I call him from hectic-ville (the car on the way home from the vet) and he's like, "Well, I'm about to sit down and eat steak and potatoes, with some veggies.....I appreciate all that you did, blah, blah blah." I'm like, "Shut up and bring me home some steak!" :teeth:

I also managed to call Disney reservations and talked with the most AWESOME gal- she was so helpful, I should have re-asked her name. I got the boys booked on their Pirate Cruise, DH and I a dinner at Narcoossee's, and inquired about the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I think I am going to reserve that for DH and my parents, while the kids and I meet up with the other DIS gals for lunch at Rain Forest. Kids can't go on the tour anyway, and DH HATES RFC. I mean, he hates it. He only tolerated it in June for Joshie's bday cause A. I had a gift card and B. Josh really wanted to eat there.

The Disney ressie gal asked me if I had any sort of discount card, and I said, "Well, I have AAA and the Disney Visa" and she reminded me to be sure to tell the reservation person I had that, in order to get 20% off the tour! AND, before I got off the phone she said to me, (as I had said we would be splitting our stay between Shades and Poly) "Thank you so much to whomever in your party is in the service- I appreciate all of your sacrifices, and hope you have the best of times here in Disney next March." I was so blown away, I almost got a bit choked up! :goodvibes

Random acts of kindness, I tell ya.

I managed to go through the rest of Sam's hand me downs (sizes 5-6-7) for Joshua, labeled the boxes with my labeler and everything! I swear, every time I got through all of Sam's clothes, I realize my compulsiveness for children's clothing did not begin once I had a daughter.....I am pathetic. I counted no less than 10 pairs of size 6 shorts, and I am sure he wrecked a pair or two. There were hardly any pants though- he must have worn those out.

Fab- I didn't get any holiday dresses from Gymbo- I wanted that velvety snowflake one, but I just couldn't think of an occasion where Molly would wear it...and the ruffle bun tights- both of those items were in my cart, but then I had to only spend the one Gymbuck (instead of the 7 I had  ) and it got spent on boys' long sleeved tops. Bummer. :guilty: I bet your girls will look darling.

Hi DavidsCoCo- thanks for checking in and for the link. Hello to another Portlander!

Nucpharm- I am so sorry Matthew's fever came back! Did you call the doctor?

Gina- I'm not Italian, but my family is just into lots of food at gatherings. No wonder we have weight issues, LOL. That recipe sounds tasty- I will have to try it! I've done about 5-6 baby showers before, but I always serve lunch. I just have been to 2-3 showers where, yes, it's in the afternoon, but there are maybe just some nuts or mints to munch on and I end up a bit disappointed. I'm such a weirdo. Not like I load up on food, but I just associate a social gathering with fun food.

Robin - I was gonna suggest a hot artichoke dip, or spinach dip to go with the snacks for the shower. What a nice thing for the Disney person to say! oh, and Yeah about the cat (sorry about the emergency vet visit though). Glad the cat will be okay!

Nucpharm - how horrible about the fever. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that this passes quickly and without any problems!

GM - I'm so bummed the Mets lost. They better get their act together for tomorrow, I want a WS game! Sorry you didn't get picked for tickets, that would ROCK! Can't wait to see the Kermit outfit

fabumouse - wow on your insurance, that is fabulous so much was covered. Yeah, we owe thousands (like 5) in medical bills from the last two years. I am making payments on med bills that cost as much as a car payment. It's horrible and is really hurting us.

val - we miss you!

An article I'm writing for a local magazine is about what women want for x-mas, including photos. So I went down to our non-mall (it's really a horrible mall) and took some photos and interviewed people, it's a fun assignment. Plus, dh watched the kids and I had 1 1/2 hours without them! :thumbsup2

To bed I go, tomorrow's sunday school/church and maybe a pumpkin farm (also have to work on two more articles!). Night all. Prayers that all my DIS friends and families have a fabulous evening, that all are healthy, feeling better and happy.

fabumouse- Here are a few highlights of our trip. She got to ride in the front of the monorail on the way to MK. She absolutely loved the characters. She had her first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop at MK and received a certificate and pink Minnie ears to celebrate the occasion. The lady that does the candy art in Japan at Epcot made her a panda bear-shaped candy.

Welcome, disneydancer1969!

Valerie- I can totally relate to your computer problems. :badpc:

nucpharm- Sending hugs and prayers your way. Sounds like a horrible virus.

Jill & Gem- Since I won't be around for a while after tomorrow, I want to wish John and Shelby an early Happy 1st Birthday! Good luck with the parties! :cake:

GLT- Good luck with your article. Sounds like fun. :shamrock:

Alice- Glad to hear that Jack came home. Sorry about the vet bill.

SL, zalansky, & justhat- Have fun at the pumpkin patch.

lissawynn- Good luck with your temporary move.

cabmom & bellacam- Cute pics.

Hi to all other DIS Moms!

Have a super Sunday!

Cute pictures everyone! :)

nucpharm~ Sorry Matthew is sick! If it makes you feel any better, Kylie had what I am guessing was the same thing a couple weeks ago. Her temp got up to nearly 104 and it was the weekend so I debated about whether I should carry her to the ER or wait it out. In the end I called an on-call nurse and she was very helpful. She basically told me to wait it out since most of Kylie's other symptoms were not all that serious and babies and toddlers can get fevers that high without it even being all that serious (which I already knew but it didn't stop my worry anyway!) So I did wait it out and she was fine within 36 hours or so. Hope Emma doesn't catch it and that Matthew is better soon!

Oh, and yes, the not paying for Kylie is a huge reason we want to go again next year! It will definitely be our last trip before she's 3 due to the way my school schedule is and the way dh's vacation time falls. I hate the idea of paying so much for a 3 year old too.

Thanks for all the advice about taking a 2 year old, ladies! As of right now we are still going. Kylie is a pretty good kid. She was a very easy baby and is for the most part easy now. We have been lucky with her. She's just very strong-willed and wants to do everything herself now. She does great with loud noises and crowds. If any of you read my TR from when we went this past May then you'll remember how much she thrives on that type of stuff. She's a complete show-off and loves attention. More people=more attention in her mind! She also does really well in her stroller. Our only real issue is she does not like to be held and would rather walk and run all by herself. So I am mostly worried about when she can't be in her stroller. And she won't want to stay in it the entire time anyway, I'm sure. I have no problem letting her run around at the kiddie spots but you know how crowded the parks are and it just isn't practical to let her do it as much as she'd of course like. I know she would be a lot harder to take now that she is 17 months than she was at 12 months but I am hoping by 24 months that she will have aged just enough to be a little easier. At any rate, we will still have a blast I'm sure. We took things at her pace this year and it was so much fun! We also took advantage of when the park wasn't as crowded and hot and will definitely do so again. We usually left by noon and went back to the resort and then we'd go back that evening. It worked really well for the most part.

fabumouse~ We took Kylie for her 1st b-day and she LOVED it! It was actually the best trip dh and I have had at WDW so far. She was really the poster child for why you should take a child that young. Yes, I worry more now because she couldn't walk until she was 12.5 months so we didn't have that independent/running off on her own problem on this last trip. We also didn't have to deal with temper tantrums yet and we are now getting into that phase. Of course even at 14 months Kylie wasn't quite as independent as she is now so I would probably have had no doubts about taking her then either like I somewhat do now. BUT when she was 12 months she was just so easy and really, truly a delight! She loved the characters and she really, really liked Mickey's Philharmagic. Her favorite current toys include her Chip and Dale that we got her there for her b-day. Dale is actually in the picture with her in my signature. She was not scared of fireworks or anything like that and was fascinated with Spectromagic. She was also a huge flirt, and always making sure all eyes were on her at all times. I think you will have a great time when your dd is that age. I'll let you know how it is with a 2 year old in about 6.5 months! ;)

Welcome, disneydancer1969!!! Was your dd born in May? I think I am the only one on here right now with a May baby (2005) but I could be wrong.

Davids-Coco~ Thanks for the link! I glanced at the site but I noticed it included babies born in 2006 and 2007 but nothing previous to that. So I got the impression it is geared more toward "newer" babies and those who are due next year which is why I didn't register. My dd was born May 2005. If I'm wrong then let me know and I will give it another look! I love mommy sites! Congrats on your new ds btw! :)

Gems~ In case I don't get on here again before Saturday (which I very likely won't now that school is getting back into full swing after our so-called break), then Happy 1st b-day to Miss Shelby! I can't believe she's already 1!!! Good luck with her party!

Jill~ Thanks so much for your encouragement! I know you know what I have been going through and it helps to know I'm not alone! I'm sure soon SL will also be in our frazzled mommy/college student club! The more the merrier, right? ;)

Hi to everyone else! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! My weekend will include studying for yet another quiz and test. I told you it never stops! ;) I am feeling better about everything right now though so I can't complain much. I'm looking forward to next weekend since we should get to finally go to the buffalo park and enjoy their pumpkin patch. It's supposed to be in the 80s next week but I'm not sure what the forecast is for the weekend. I just hope it doesn't rain! Bye for now!

I don't think I'll ever get caught up at the rate I'm going!

I just had to share with my fellow Disney addicts that I decided to bite the bullet and take an entire week off for my cousin's wedding. I'm going to ask for my 3 personal days to get approved and then just take 2 sick days. We will go down to the Keys for my cousin's wedding on the 12th of May. Her wedding is a 3 day affair. She rented out 3 big houses on the water in the keys. So, after that, we can head up to Disney for a few days. Now, I just have to figure out the dates. I'd like to take Monday through Friday off but I really should be in the Keys the day before her wedding. I guess if we find a late enough flight we can fly out on Friday night so we can still go to work. It will be great because I can make Alex feel extra special in Disney since his birthday is on the day of the wedding. I'm getting very excited :Pinkbounc . I want to rent DVC points so I'm going to have to figure this out soon! It's either that or rent a villa off site. I refuse to stay in one hotel room with my big family ever again. It was torture.

nucpharm - I'm sorry to hear that Matthew is so sick. I hope he feels better soon!

OK, I better go. We're heading to the pumpkin patch today. I think we're going to try a new one. They have a huge maze that has a pirate theme and you have to look for clues, etc. It sounds like fun!
Have a great day :sunny: !

Kim--Whatever you do, DO NOT tell your relatives you're going to WDW!!! After, you can say it was "spur of the moment" or something. Go with just your DH and kids and have a great time!

Found this on my Gymbo boards; I imagine it's on the Budget Boards now too.

20% off your purchase of $75 or more at Toys R Us. Online Code is TRUFRIENDFAMILY

I just knocked off 3 more Christmas gifts- includes video games, but not hardware.

Don't forget to click through Sunshine Rewards if you do that- you get 3% back on Toys R Us!

Kim- you are a true Disney Fan and we are cut from the same mold. I don't think I could do a trip to FL without somehow figuring out a way to visit the mouse for a few days too. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 And it will make Alex feel special to be there around his birthday- I know Joshua did at DL this year.

OK, I gotta go- flipping TWO soccer games this morning. I have a feeling only half the team will be there. I mean, who schedules soccer games at 9:20 on a Sunday morning? (and then another at 11). And DH is still at Drill! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH...... :guilty:
