Hey all! just a quick post from me as it's the "golden hour" of silence around here. Emma's behaviour has been horrible lately, so I've gone back to the mandatory nap schedule for her. I think she just gets overtired come dinnertime and reeks havoc with the family. So, hopefully with the naps and the reward chart for good behaviour we'll have a quick turn-around! Gonna go watch a DVR'd Gilmore Girls while I have the chance!

Hillbeans - It was us recently with the "issue". Aidan was found to have retractile testicles. It sound like what Liam has. They said not to worry because as an adult when he needs them, they'll be there.

hillary - Liam is a big boy :) He weighs more than tyler! Nothing wrong with that! I hope the testicle drops. Poor boys, they have so much to deal with don't they?

I may have enough drinks for all the moms ;) It's been awhile!

Time for bed! Hi to everyone

Tamie

Hi moms, we are home. :cool1:

It was a good week at WDW and most things went smoothly. So far the biggest issue for me was I got a ton of bug bites on my ankles and they are making me batty. Other then that everything went great (a few bus issues, but what trip don't you have that?????) We had a great time and Anna and Lily were great. They had a blast.

It is going to take me forever to catch up, so if something big happened in the last week let me know! I will get a trip report posted sometime in the next week.

Hope everyone is doing well. Hope this week was drama free here.

Disneyphd - welcome back! Glad the trip went well!

Hillbeans - Leif used to have those chunky thighs too, I love those!

Tamie - have a great trip!

fabumouse - it's actually something different than Zantac, I will pick it up tomorrow; the pharmacist had to "mix" it together and couldn't get to it until late today WTH? How hard is it to mix something????? Anywho, I don't recall the name of it, but will know tomorrow (assuming I don't forget to pick it up). HOpefully while I'm out i'll remember the cat food, for some reason I keep forgetting cat food and hairspray --

OK, gotta hit the hay, night all!

Welcome back, Phd. Looking forward to your TR!

GLT - I'll be interested to hear what they're giving him - are they mixing it because they're making it taste like watermelon or something? We have specialist pharmacies around here that do that for kids.

Good morning :)

Just popped in to say hello and catch up on my threads. I am heading to Gymbo after I get Connor from school at noon to use my Gymbuck. He will be just thrilled with that....he is already firmly against going to the mall with me at age 4. He depises it unless it includes a carousel ride and cookies for him. Such a male.

Welcome back PhD....no drama here while you were gone....as a matter of fact, now that you mention it the only time I ever recall any drama on this thread was that one time. Hmmmmm, makes me wonder!

Have a great day ladies....one day closer to FRIDAY! :yay:

Zalansky - ;) You made me smile this morning. Henry already hates all shopping as well. Considering that he's 5 months old I think it must be inborn in all men.

Hillbeans - Liam certainly is a big boy! He's got an extra 3.5 lbs on Madison! I guess that's what I have to look forward to with Henry since he's just about 18 lbs already. My fear is I won't be able to carry him anymore before he learns to walk! Oh, and I hope his testicle issue resolves on its own.

Welcome back DisPhD! Glad you had a good trip.

Well that's it for me right now as I've gotta get working around here.

Z and Justhat - Ok, this is a 'male' thing with the shopping then! :rotfl: John hates shopping and the girls have always loved it! Go figure! I personally think my dh is training John to dislike running errands so I won't spend money.

Hillbeans - Sorry to hear about Liam's testicles not dropping. I think my nephew had that problem too. When are they going to check it again?

DisneyPhD - Welcome back. I hope that you had a great trip!

My neighbors left yesterday for Disney and I so wished I could have hid in their luggage! They are staying at the WL and that is one of my favorite resorts. I'm pathetic b/c I just got back from WDW a few weeks ago. I can't have withdrawals this soon can I?

Well, I better run! It is 9:30 and John is still sleeping! I better go and be productive around here.

Hi PhD~

No, Jill, it's always the time for WDW withdrawl. When I am leaving, sometimes I feel good about going home, that I'm ready. Then about a week later I feel like I miss it already. :confused3

Hi to all the other moms!

Jill, I'm having withdrawals too, and it hasn't even been a month since we were there. I can't wait to plan our next trip!

We haven't been in a year and a half and with a 5.5 month old, no trip planned - I have SERIOUS PLANNING WITHDRAWAL!!!! :rotfl:

Um, I think Aidan probably takes the cake for huge babies. He's somewhere around 33 or 34 pounds now and has a size 9 foot. The doctor said he is the height of a 2-year-old and the weight of a 3-year-old. He has such a baby face though. I can picture him already as this huge linebacker with a sweet baby face and wispy blonde hair!

Jill - Not only to I have DW withdrawls, but I think Alex might be even worse than I am. Of course there is noone like my 6-year-old godson who actually writes intricate stories about all the Disney attractions. That's how he earned the nickname "Disney David". Oh, and Aidan hate shopping too. Emmy also hates it unless it involves shopping at one of "her" stores. Alex is my shopper. He loves to shop and he loves to get new clothes and put outfits together. He's a riot!

I've had an uneventful day. I just had a student tell me he loves my class and would rather stay here and write an essay than go to art class. That was nice, I guess.

I have to go write a letter of reccomendation. I'll try to pop in later. My dog gets jealous when I'm on the computer. He kept chewing on everything he knows he's not supposed to in order to get my attention. He's such a baby. He's a cutie though. I really love him. Now, I understand why people love their dogs so much. OK, I'm really going this time.

Speaking of planning withdrawal, what is the youngest you took your ONLY child.... B/c it's kind of different if you are primarily going for older kids and taking baby along??

lglblonde - Hi. I'm with you on the long-time withdrawal. It's been 9 months since we were there and I don't have a plan yet for the future. :sad2: I REALLY want to plan a trip - even if we don't go for another year. The planning is half the fun! I don't have advice about going with one kid, first time I went with children I took three of them myself:goodvibes

Fab- ok, the medicine is omeprazole:confused: whatever that means/is. It's only good for one month from the "mix" date. It looks nasty, but we haven't opened it yet. I will give it to him this evening (it has to be one hour before he eats, that should be a challenge. I don't think the boy goes one hour without eating:lmao: ).

Zalansky - DS seems to enjoy shopping, it's DD that has issue with it:confused3 my kids are backwards I guess...

gotta run - Hello DIS moms.

lglblonde - I'm sorry I can't really give you insight because we didn't take my first child until she was 5 and we already had our second child who was 10 months. I can, however, tell you that I took my youngest child at 4 months and it was okay. I would suggest going in cooler weather. We went in August because that was the only time we could go and it was very uncomfortable for him. With that issue aside, it was just fine. I think babies of any age can enjoy all the bright colors and interesting things going on. I actually found it easier taking him at 4 months than one year. I hope some of that helped.

glt---the omeprazole is the generic name of Prilosec--the dr. probably wrote a prescription for a specific concentration that needed to be mixed by the pharmacist--sometimes the dr. wants things that aren't commercially available--which also means the expiration date is shorter! Hpoe that helps!

lglblonde--we took DD, as an only, when she was 14 and 16months. Then last Jan. we took DS, 2 months, and DD just over two. Had great times on all the trips. OUr trip in April will be the challenge, a 16month old and a 3 year old! AAAAHHH!!!!

z-hehehehehe!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Lglblonde - we took our oldest when she was 3.5. We took everything slowly and had lots of downtime, although were still surprised that certain things scared her (like the Heffalumps in the Winnie the Pooh Ride). She actually enjoyed Seaworld more.

GLT Prilosec really helped us - hope it works for you!

Just a quick check in. I feel like I haven't talked to you guys in forever! ;)

Welcome back DisneyPhD!

Liam and Aidan are big boys! Dd went to the dr. today since she is sick and, at 20 months old, she has finally gained a lb. She was 21 lbs 10 oz. I don't know her height but she was 31" in November and has probably grown another 0.5-1". I am curious about it now and will have to check later. And she still wears a size 4 shoe. I can't believe Aidan is already in a size 9!

Lglblonde~ I think a trip with a baby or toddler really depends on your child's temperment. Dd has always been fairly easy (and yes, we are very thankful for that! It could have gone either way since dh and I weren't easy children, lol!) We took her to WDW for the first time for her 1st b-day this past May. I can honestly say it was the best trip we've ever taken. She was very easy and seemed to really enjoy it. If all goes well we are hoping to go again about a week after her 2nd b-day. I think it will go fine as well since her temperment is still fairly easy and she loves going places. Oh, and she is currently our only child.

As far as WDW withdrawals, I started having them as soon as we saw the exit sign as we were leaving the World on our last trip! I am not kidding. I was not ready to leave at all! I really, really hope we are able to go back this May. I don't know how I will get through another year or 2 if we don't.

Okay, well, gotta go. Dd is asleep and I just wanted to check in and let you all know I'm still around. :)

We just took our daughter for her first trip and she was 8.5 months old.
