We have no milk, no eggs which leaves us with pretty much nothing for breakfast. DS just said, mom you can go the store, we'll stay here while dad's sleeping -- LOL. A tornado wouldn't wake that man up.

J&D - ewwww about the costume, note to self, never let my kids be the chuckecheese guy. I got the click, thanks! And how nice of you to thank Robin's dh on veteran's day, I must agree

Robin - THANK YOU to your dh!! And to your family. How practical of you  I'm glad dh is so supportive of dvc!!

nucpharm - I have been thinking about doing some sitting too. I'm glad you like it. Sorry Walgreens isn't working out yet. Emily will love the b'day party. DS's b'day is Jan 5 and I need to begin thinking about what to do/where to have one for him. I'd love to do something simple, pirate themed in the basement, but that will require lots of pre-event cleaning for me. We shall see if I get my act together. That lady was a crabapple, it's none of her business. Sorr you you had to deal with that.

Val - I meant to say, good luck with the holiday season at your job!

DS' new thing is to play the YMCA song, over and over again (a kid's bop version) and Leif dances around the living room. Cute!

OK, need to see what to do about breakfast. . .

Robin - You are showing a lot of self restraint. I can't believ your DH brought up the idea of DVC! You have him trained well :thumbsup2 . I must second J&D and thank your DH for his service to our country as well! I think he deserves DVC :thumbsup2

nucpharm - I can't believe the nerve of that woman!

GLT - I'm jealous of your relaxing movie watching day. I could use one of those. I need to learn how to slow down!

I was out shopping until 9:30 last night. I was seriously ready to collapse. I can now stay home today and get things done here. It's a gross day outside - rainy and way too warm. I'm going out to get my hair cut in a little bit. I'll be back later!

GLT,
A party in the basement sounds fun! I'll have to keep that in mind for next year for ds (plus it gives me ten months to clean out the basement :faint: ).

J&D,
I think they are waiting because they are doing so many more tests to make sure he can tolerate the surgery. They have him going in at least once week for one test or another up until that date. I don't remember if I wrote it or not but the pics of Jenna as Tink were so beautiful princess: .

Robin,
You are a brave woman to give the kids a keyboard for Christmas :teeth: . I'm sure he will love it though. Thanks for the heads up on the music box. We don't have a Costco here so I'll keep your offer in mind if I can't find anything locally in the next week or so.

How totally exciting about DVC :cheer2: ! Good luck and I hope it works out for you.

Nucpharm,
What a rude woman! Your friend prob. would have been mortified if she knew what her mother said. Glad you had a fun date night.

GLT,
I can't believe you have snow! We have had really warm weather here. I'm sure the white stuff is coming soon enough though. I hope you can make it to the store once dh wakes up. Mine sleeps like a rock too.

Loretta,
I'm so sorry you are going through a rough time :grouphug: . You and your family will be in my prayers. Please remember we are all here for you if you need us.

Tasha,
I saw the cutest doll at Walmart the other day that looked exactly like Kylie  ! It even had the little pig tails like she does in your sig pic.

Hi to Fab, GM, Hillbeans, Jill, Diskim, SL, Tamie, Dizagain, Joats, Lissawynn, and everyone  .

I just wanted to say that whoever has me for the exchange buddy please take as long as you need to get it sent out. I understand if you need past the date to do it.

We are off soon to meet up at the restaurant for my grandmother's b-day. I'm nervous my mother is going to be a PITA. She has already started in about her wanting to do T-giving this year. I don't know if you all remember but last year she was a horrible witch to me because she was supposed to do it then changed her mind. Then when I made other plans she called me every name in the book. It's such a shame that we can't have a decent relationship but she is such a manipulative person it is hard :( .

Yesterday DH and I ended up having a little date night. My ILs are going overnight to Atlantic City today into tomorrow so they wanted to see Lucas last night. DH and I went to see Stranger Than Fiction and got to go out to eat. It was really nice.

Today we're supposed to meet DH's cousin and his family for a late lunch/early dinner. They have 2 young kids (I think they're 2 and 3) and we're bringing Lucas so this might be interesting. They usually leave them with a sitter when we go out to eat and from the stories I've heard, it's with good reason.

nucpharm - :lmao: You should have told that woman, "Oh this is nothing!" and taken the pitcher with you.

Alice28 - Congrats on your DVC decision! :cheer2:

glt - Wow! I can't believe you got that much snow. I hope you can make it to the store today.

val - I hope your grandmother's lunch goes smoothly.

dizagain - Congrats on Carson sleeping all night! I hope he keeps it up!

tkyes - The playroom looks amazing! Have a great trip!! :Pinkbounc

fabumouse - We have one of those animal humidifiers - an elephant. And I usually pride myself on my restraint. :rotfl:

cabmom - :grouphug: It's good to see you. Hope you check in when you can.

BnB - Glad your Christmas photo session went well. We've got ours booked for the weekend after Thanksgiving at Target.

hillbeans - Congrats on Kevin's goal.

:wave2: Hi to all the other moms. I have to run...Lucas woke up last night around 3 am for about an hour and DH stayed up with him. He's up for the day now and I want to let DH sleep in a little.

Tasha- We’re surrounded by people planning babies too. I know DSIL is ttc now, so I keep hoping for some good news.

Nucpharm- Glad to hear that the babysitting is working out. What a rude Grandma at the party!

DisKim- What a nice day in the city. You hit some of my sisters’ favorite places (the AG shop and the big Toys R Us). I bought the HS Musical tickets too. Of course I bought them during the presale and heard that they held back all the good tickets for the regular sale. My sisters will be glad to be there even if the seats aren’t great.

Cabmom- Great pictures! Dean is so adorable.

Tykes- Great job with the room. I love how colorful it is.

Dizagain- YAY for Carson sleeping!

Val- It’s a good thing the slicer didn’t take any fingers, because you’d have a hard time typing messages here!

Fabs- Glad Kailey had a good time at soccer. People are really strange about what they leave in their houses when the move. My grandmother insists that people used to leave things in houses when they moved all the time (like leaving things there for the new people to use), and she can’t understand that it’s viewed as an imposition now.

BNB- Wow, what an eventful day for you! Congrats on the sleep and the teeth and the good pictures all at once.

Zalansky- I am so sorry about what you’re going through with your dad. I’ll be saying some extra prayers for you. Watching someone go through cancer is really tough, but I’m sure it’s even harder when it’s your parent. Don’t you DARE worry about getting the exchange package out late!

Alice- WooHoo about the DVC!!

K, I have to keep it relatively short because I spent a lot of time catching up with you guys, and I have a client coming in at noon. Nothing like having to schedule appointments on the weekend.

Friday’s closing went well. The sellers paid the expenses through the weekend, and they’re giving possession of the house on Monday morning. My dad decided to take everyone out to dinner to celebrate the house purchase, so we went to one of my favorite Italian restaurants. It was sooo good. Just my luck, I got really really sick on Friday night and wound up throwing up all night.

Saturday morning we planned to do the yardwork since the tree out front is dumping leaves like crazy. We bagged up nine garbage bags of leaves! DH also cleaned out most of the gutters, but we have to borrow a 24 foot ladder next weekend to get at the high ones. We might have to look into buying a really tall ladder, since we can’t be borrowing one every time we need to get up there.

Olivia went to my MIL’s house Saturday afternoon, so DH and I had dinner and a movie. MIL was nice enough to get us a $50 gift certificate for Red Lobster, so that’s where we went. I’m still missing the Cheesecake Factor food though! I did, however, indulge in that endless shrimp. :) We saw the Borat movie, which was pretty funny, and then went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. I read about their new shake (peppermint ice cream and hot fudge), and OMG it was so good!

DH is workin today and then going to the Giants game with my brother. I can’t believe how many free sports tickets we’ve gotten this fall. The weather is miserable though, so I’m sure by tonight they’ll be freezing. OK, talk more later. I really need to get out of here!

Just a quickie post from me!

Loretta-- :grouphug: . So sorry you're going through this. I've been there--nothing makes it easy. Please try to take good care of yourself through this difficult time. We're always here if you need to vent. And the exchange is NOT your priority right now--we all understand that. Please don't add stress worrying about it.

GLT--We likes a lot of the extras in the Wal-Mart photo package, like an ornament that we put Luke's picture on, you can get sepia or black and white photos, we got a puzzle of Celeste's photo, our Chirstmas cards, etc. We had a great photographer, but it can really vary. I've also seen some great photos from Target--my SIL works there, and that's where she has her kids done, and they really come out nice. I didn't care for JC Penney, but haven't been back since Jocelyn was tiny, never tried Sears. I did Olin Mills in K-Mart a few times, but again, years ago, and if you have a good photographer, wonderful, if not, well, good luck.

nucpharm--you are such a lush! Some people are like that--any amount of alcohol is "evil"! You may want to ask your friend, privately, if her mother has some issues. I know my mom was such a freak about alcohol, she didn't even want any type served at our wedding. Not a cash bar or a toast, nothing.

I have to run, dress rehearsal starts now!

Robin,

How funny about the DVC. Just an FYI-you can call a guide and see if they have any VWL points. We sold our 175 point VWL contract a few years ago and it sold before we even had it listed. VWL is certainly a very popular place. One thing I like about DVC is that it doesn't show up on your credit report. DH was hesitant about buying because we were buying a house and cars at the time and he didn't want it to show on our credit report and it doesn't, which is nice. We purchased our VWL contract with cash but financed our VB one.

Good luck with your decision. :sunny:

May I ask how much you paid for that keyboard at Costco? It looks pretty cool and I was thinking about picking it up.

SL,

Glad you got to have a date night with DH.

ginamarie,

That shake sounds so good. Now I want ice cream. Sorry you were sick on Friday night.

gottalovethem

I hate morningw when I wake up and there is no food.

We are working on our house again today. DH is putting a little patio in out back wtih pavers so we have some place to put our grill. Right now, it's in our Florida room and we need more room out there. I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time out there around Christmas playing cards and Monopoly with the kids.

We are going to redo it next year. Right now it is screened it but we are going to have that all torn out and make the walls shutter panels that slide into the wall. That doesn't sound right but it's going to have a real Carribean feel to it.

I hope everyone has a great day. :wave2:

Hi Moms~

FF- The keyboard was $68. It's that same one they show on commercials on Nick all the time. It looks way cool. Too bad our basement isn't finished yet- I could banish him down there to play it. It is LOUD from fiddling with the test button.

Thanks for your info on DVC too. We could probably swing the payment, but then the Visa would never get paid off. And it sounds like you are getting lots done at your house. :thumbsup2

J&D, Kim, GLT- thanks for your well wishes for DH and Vet's Day. We didn't go to any celebrations or anything. We did watch Patton and Tora Tora Tora last night- how thrilling!

Val- Hope the Christmas season isn't too hectic at your work! And I'm hoping your mother won't be a pain about the holidays and giving you a hard time about where and when....I do remember her backing out on you guys last year and how hurt you were. :guilty: I do hope your grandma has a nice day!

GLT- a pirate party in the basement sounds like fun! I hope your DH gets up soon so you can go to the store! Too cute about YMCA and Leif the dancer!

GM & SL- sounds like you both had nice date nights. DH totally vented on the phone to his mom last night about the topic. She often complains to us how tiring it is to take care of Bill's (BIL) 3 kids and how glad she is that they only have them 2 or 3 nights a week. (and it's more the way she says it that gripes DH). So last night he said to her, "HEY! We have 3 kids too, and guess what- we have them SEVEN nights a week! We have no one else to ship them off to Mom, so knock it off!" That and she's always harping on DH to watch his health and not be so stressed about work, etc- so he says to her last night, "Guess what mom- I am stressed- we actually have a mortgage and bills to pay and be accountable for- who does Bill pay his mortgage and car payments too? YOU! Not a bank!" She was quiet and apologetic after that.

Anyway, then DH kind of complained to me that he feels my parents don't quite do enough and he wishes they would help out a little more. That kind of irritates me, because last I checked my parents were the grandparents and shouldn't feel obligated to watch our kids all the time. In the last 3 weeks I do believe they have babysat 3 times, it's just that two of those times were during the day when I had appointments or wanted to shop without the boys. (so DH doesn't see that). Plus my parents live 30 minutes away- it's not just like I can drop the kids off all the time on a whim.

Well, I need to shower and get ready for the day. I made a nice breakfast of eggs, sausage and biscuits and only DH ate it....well, Sam ate some eggs and Molly a biscuit. My kids really just like cereal for breakfast. Makes it easy I guess, but then I feel like a bad mommy that they don't like a more hearty breakfast every once in awhile.

Hey all! Going to attempt to post while Matthew is occupied in his high chair with lunch.

val--I hope things go well with your mom. Happy Bday to your Grandma!!!!

GM and SL--sounds like all of us had a nice night out with the hubbies! :thumbsup2

Alice--congrats on the "future" DVC purchase. :cheer2: I get the same thing from DH that my parents should babysit more b/c they live so close. We don't pay them and I don't feel like we should take advantage of the breaks they do give us. DH is like "Well, they should want the kids for 3-4 days" WTH??? Why would he assume that?? I know my mom offered an overnighter, but 4 days right now would be a stretch--they do have lives too!

bnb--I thought maybe that my friend's mom might have an "issue" with the alcohol--but what really got me, was the fact that her daughter, Son-in-law, and all the other guys were drinking (more than me) and I was the only one confronted. OH well, not worth my time!

Well, my little man is screaming to get down. Have a great sunday afternoon all!

Good afternoon ladies...although I feel like I should be saying Good evening I'm so beat already!!

I'm still itching..my appt is tomorrow. I still can't figure out what it is. Its strange though there are no welts or hives but my skin itches like crazy and as soon as I begin to scratch, then they come out and I'm welt/hive city. Hopefully my MD can figure it out. Jace woke up at 5am coughing. Poor thing is getting sick. I hope it doesn't turn into the croup as kids at daycare have/had it. Dang daycare. I swear I just want to bring a can of lysol with me everyday and hose the place down.

Yesterday Jace and I went up Massachusetts to my college friend's house. She has a 21 month old and a 6 week old. Jace and her son had a nice time and Jace didn't get jealous of my holding the new baby either. It was a fun day. Last night I ran out to Target after Jace went to sleep and bought him the Little People Animal Farm for Christmas as it was $10 off. I also got him the Turbo Tail Tigger. I ended up filling my cart and then some. Unfortunately, I was looking for one more item for my exchange buddy and they didn't have it, so hopefully I'll get out today and find it.

I've been on a mad cleaning spree today. I have never scrubbed our bedroom bathroom so much. It's sparkling. DH said he will do the hall and downstairs one

Z: :grouphug: to you. I'm so sorry you are going thru this. As all others have said, no big deal about the exchange deadline. We all understand if you will be late and just hope you're doing ok.

Robin: Sounds like DH really spoke his mind to your MIL - good for him!! Wow, your parents do help out alot for you! I too wish we could get more date nights but we really only have my parents as my IL's live 4+ hours away and make no effort to see Jace. Oh, and pls don't get me started on LOST. I'm so annoyed with that show right now. Nothing good was given and now we have to wait until Feb?? The only saving grace is then we get 16 straight weeks...but probably just of more confusion.

FF: Your new patio area sounds nice! Laughing at the "Florida Room". I know that's what it's called, but couldn't help thinking of which room in my house would be my "Connecticut Room" :rotfl:

BNB: How did Dress Rehearsal go?

GM: That peppermint ice cream/hot fudge shake sounds heavenly!!

SL: Glad you had a nice date night. Is Lucas ok? He doesn't usually wake up middle of the night right?

Val: Hope you survived your grandmothers bday party and your mom didn't give you a hard time.

DisKim: How did your hair cut come out? What did you get on your shopping trip?

GLT: :rotfl2: Your husband sounds like mine, when it comes to sleeping heavy. It always amazes me how they sleep thru anything, and a pin drops and I'm awake.

J&D: Thanks for always posting the freebie links. Where do you find all these things??

Cabmom: :grouphug: Hang in there. I'm glad you are getting help. Did you have it with your older kids too? I went thru a big funk when I had to go back to work after my maternity leave. I had such guilt. I hope you will feel better soon and pls know we are here for you anytime. Happy Birthday to DEAN!!

Hello: Jill, bellacam, nucpharm, lissawyn, hillbeans, Tamie (have fun if you didn't leave yet), tasha, dizagain, fabumouse, gems...

Well, I have my too many cleaning agent fumes headache again and I feel like I'm gonna hurl. I think I will go hang out on the couch while Jace is still asleep. I think I've lost my cleaning momentum and I just need couch time.

I plan to get my exchange package out to my buddy in the next day or so. But I was thinking...this is a Christmas exchange thing right? Or is this a Thanksgiving one? I'm so confused - sorry I'm new to this whole exchange thing. Can someone let me know. I don't want to wrap my stuff in Christmas-y paper if it's for Thanksgiving:)

Hi Everyone!

Haven't gotten much accomplished today so far. Hannah has spent the morning catching up on her reading and projects. I've had to spend the morning staying on her back. Unfortunately she hates reading and she is very bored by this book which may be a little advanced for her..."Half Moon". She has read like 50 pages today and has 75 to finish by Wednesday. Problem is she has to finish reading so she can finish her three projects on the book which are also due on Wednesday. She's like 3/4 of the way finished on all three, but can't complete them until she knows the end of the story. She's making a board game, scrapbook on a character, and some story web thing. She's not doing the best job on any of them, but she says "noone does"...I'm thinking I'd rather she have to do one project really well than a bunch of nonsense, but that's just my opinion. I tend to get too frustrated with her because Hayley is very, very advanced and has always done such amazing work...I'm not comparing them, but I worry about Hannah's work even though I know I shouldn't -she's always made A's and B's so she's doing just fine...well, until she slacked on this reading stuff. Ok, mom rant over.

Anyway, we're off to the mall in a minute - Hayley has a b'day party there for 3 hours and it's 30 minutes away so we'll just stay. I'm taking Hannah and Carson to give DH a football break. I think we'll go to Babies R Us too since it's next door to the mall and maybe get Carson one of those doorway jumpy things. I know some don't like them, but the girls LOVED theirs and Carson always seems to want to be "standing" these days.

joats - wanna come do my bathroom too??? It's my "Sunday" job, but I only got to the shower so far and it's looking like that's going to be it. Hope the doctor can figure out the itching thing - I'm so glad you are going!

nucpharm - You lush, you! :rotfl2: What a silly woman. Glad you and DH had fun on your date - I'm jealous!

robin - it has always seemed to me that your parents do a LOT. Your DH probably feels bad that his don't so much. My DH is the only one in our family who will eat a big breakfast - the rest of us are addicted to cereal. I only cook breakfast on Christmas - the other times we eat "breakfast" it's for dinner!

BnB - hope Jocelyn's dress rehearsal goes well. We have two more weeks of rehearsals and then we're into all that too.

floridafam - a "Florida Room" sounds so nice!

ginamarie - glad you had a nice anniversary date! That peppermint shake thing sounds amazing!

sl - so happy for you and your date night too!

val - hope your grandmother had a nice celebration! Hope your mom behaves!

glt - My DH is the same way - Carson sleeps like 2 feet from him and he never hears a thing! Too cute about the "YMCA"!

diskim - hope your haircut turns out nicely - I'm always scared when I go! Probably because I go to the "$12.99 special" places!

Well, gotta go get ready to head out...hi to al the moms! No worries on the exchange packages....I'm still waiting on something to arrive for mine, so I'm sure I'll be late!

There is a $.07 click at Sunshine! Hurry!

joats- I find deals all over, but most of them I find posted at mycoupons.com. Yes, the exchange is for Christmas.

Robin- I forgot to mention that I had some See's candy last night. There was a holiday cart set up at the mall, and I got a mint krispy. OMG!!! That is some of the best candy I've ever had!!! :hyper: Please remind me of which Wiggles DVD you think is the best. I want to get Jenna one for Christmas. We only have Dance Party.

GLT- I went to the store today, and there was a little boy that looked just like Leif. They could pass as twins.

TTFN!!!

Thanks Jen, for the Sunshine headsup! :thumbsup2

Aren't those Mint Krispies nummy? I bought a few See's things for my exchange buddy's Mommy, so hopefully she will enjoy them. :goodvibes

Molly's favorite Wiggles DVD right now is a Christmas one we got 2 days ago- "Yule Be Wiggling." I have to admit some of the songs are pretty catchy. She also likes Hot Potato Live! It's basically one of their concerts made into a DVD, but it has a lot of their really good songs.

Joats- I hope your doctor can figure out what is causing the itching! That has been going on for quite sometime with you! I need to get motivated to clean our bathrooms. My least favorite- having little boys makes it extra gross, if you know what I mean.

Well, I need to go take an advil- I feel a headache coming on!

Hi everyone. I've been doing laundry all day and have just finished grading my spelling tests from Friday. I have to find some time tonight to do a study guide on capitalization for my students. Since I have 1 or 2 special ed. students who HAVE to have them, I just give one to everyone.

DH has been busting his hump all day working on the heat upstairs. We have heat, and now DH is securing the pipes to the floor and double checking for leaks. It's been miserable here all day and the roofer and chimney guys didn't show b/c of the rain.

Loretta - I am thinking of you and your family. We went through a very similar situation with my grandmother about six years ago. It sounds a lot like what you described this morning. My grandmother totally refused any help from us and made things hellish for a while. Since my mom is an only child, my sisters and I were always getting calls from Nonnie about needing this and that. When we'd get to the house things would be terrible. Long story short, Nonnie did have colon cancer that spread through her entire body. She ended up getting full-time nursing care in her home and passed away there. Unfortunately, my mom never had PoA or she would have put her in a nursing home (and that's exactly why Nonnie wouldn't give it to her).
If there's anything you need, let us know. Feel free to come here and vent! :grouphug:

I wish I could respond to all of you, but I have to get dinner out of the oven and switch the laundry around.

Take care all and have a good night!

Good evening ladies! :wave2:

Quick study break here….I’ve got to write a 30 page research paper and I’ve put it off until now. It is due in 3 weeks, but I’ve been focusing on finishing up my other courses. Ugh. Wish me luck that I don’t go crazy. ;)

Yesterday was beautiful weather for soccer and the girls both did very well. Unfortunately (or maybe I should say fortunately) today was a rainy day so they cancelled the remaining games in the tournament. Katie scored a goal which was neat to see. :woohoo: Meagan’s team probably won her division based on yesterday’s standings. We won’t know officially for another day or two but that would be great for her team if they won. They are an amazing bunch of girls who played so well together all season. Basketball officially started today. It never ends…..

Zalansky – I’m so sorry to hear about everything you are going through with your father. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Don’t even worry about your exchange. Just take care of yourself and your father. You are in my prayers.

Cabmom – I’m so sorry to hear that you are going through PPD. :grouphug: That is really good that you are getting help for it and know that we are all thinking of you. Come and visit here whenever you can! I loved your family pictures too!

Tamie – That play room is so adorable! :cloud9: Did you do that all on your own? You should go into business! You are probably gone by now, but I hope that you have a great trip!

Robin – Woo Hoo on the weight loss! :cool1: That is great!! My vote is for you to “GO FOR IT” and purchase DVC!!! That would be awesome if you could get a resale for WL!

Oh and like J&D, I saw a See’s candy stand in our mall on Friday and it reminded me of you! :goodvibes

DisKim – I hope that you survived the weekend! Your schedule made my head spin! Thanks for the tip on HS Musical! :thumbsup2

Hillbeans – Congrats to Kevin on scoring a goal! :woohoo: I just love seeing the kids so excited after they accomplish something. Good luck with the ring (every time I hear about it, I am going to think of the glow in the dark bracelet.) I remember you posting on the DIS a long time ago about all of your pregnancy/miscarriage issues. :grouphug:

Lissawynn – Ay yi yi about your neighbors! I feel sorry for you to live next to someone who is such a pain! I’m glad to hear that your house is coming along!

Dizagain – That is great that Carson slept two nights in a row for you! Woo Hoo!

Val – It is great to hear from you and I’m glad to hear that you still have all of your fingers after working with the slicer! How was your mother today? I hope that she behaved herself! How was your ds’s soccer banquet? How are you feeling? Is the migraine gone? Feel better!

I’m with Tamie in that I’ve got a food thrower too! John gets a big kick out of chucking his food off of his high chair. It is one thing to do it at home (the dog eats well), but it is embarrassing when we go out to eat. I’m not sure what to do to stop it.

Fabumouse – Congrats to Kailey for being a terrific goalie this weekend!! :thumbsup2

BNBmom – Congrats on Luke sleeping through the night too! :cheer2:

GLT – I thought of you this morning when I heard about the snow up north. I bet that the kids were loving it!!

Ginamarie – Your anniversary dinner and a movie sounds like it was fun! I would like to see Borat too sometime.

Floridafam – Your renovations on your house sound so nice. I love outdoor living!

Nucpharm – How rude of that lady to speak to you like that! Some people really need to mind their own business. I like the response that SL gave. I’m glad to hear that you and dh had a great date night!

SL – How was the late lunch/early dinner with dh’s cousin? I hope it was relatively calm with all of the kiddos!

Joats – Keep us posted on the doctor’s appointment. Your itching has me worried. I hope all goes well. :grouphug:

J&D – I second what everyone else has said about your links! We really appreciate them!!

Bellacam – How are you doing?

Well, I better run! Tomorrow is the start of American Education Week in the girl’s school so there are lots of activities going on with the kids. I hope John likes hanging out with the 2nd and 5th graders! :teacher: :teeth:

Hi DIS moms. I hope all is well.

Jill - yes, the kids did love the snow. I had to get out there and shovel today, we were the only ones on the block that didn't shovel yesterday  I hope school goes well this week. 30 pages? I don't get why school papers need to be so long. I write for magazines and newspapers and NEVER have to write that many words  good luck

lissawynn - wow, sounds like you've been a busy gal! I hope all is going well.

Robin - I may have to check out that Wiggles movie. We have an old one that Leif watched the entire thing of the other day. I couldn't believe it.

J&D - I missed the click :guilty: Thanks for the heads up! I can't believe a little guy just looked like my baby. I've run into a boy in town that looks just like ds, except there is about a year's difference.

Tamie - I meant to tell you that I like the playroom.

joats - keep us posted on what the dr says. Fun to hold a bitty baby! I was at Target today and saw some cute Mickey notepads and picked up dd a fork set for her stocking for Christmas.

dizagain - I hope Hannah gets her reading done. A party at the mall? I hope you had fun shopping.

Ff - the patio sounds like a great idea!

Diskim - I hope you were able to get a lot done today.

nucpharm - hello! Hope you are enjoying the warm weather.

I did run errands today, actually most of the afternoon. I found a cute pair of jeans for dd at TjMaxx.

Have a good week DIS moms!

Jill- Good luck with your research paper. I don't think I told you that we will be at WDW Dec. 27-30. We will just miss you.

Just a quick pop in before I need to get John up. :sunny:

J&D - What a bummer that I will just miss you! Are you planning on going to the meet in 2008? I would love to meet you one day!

GLT - Yes, 30 pages is a little crazy. In all of my classes, I haven't had to write one this long but this is a special circumstance. I am designing a 'faux' research study on an education topic of my choice. The bulk of the paper will be on the review of other (real) studies that have taken place over the years. I'll then design my own experiment and put in my 'faux' results, analyze them, draw conclusions and make recommendations. Due to privacy laws, we won't actually go out and do the research study ourselves so thus the 'faux' data. I'm sure if this were my PhD, we would conduct real studies. I think the overall purpose of this is for us to understand the importance of research in education. I'm just going to make sure that I have lots of graphs and such in my report to take up space. ;) The scary thing is that this paper is 50% of my grade in this class. Yikes! Anyway, sorry for the long winded response. This was probably way more than you wanted to know. :rotfl2: I'm just a bit punchy today........

Everyone have a great Monday!! :wave2:

Wish me luck, ladies! I'm submitting a raise request letter today. After my boss bragged to me how well financially the company was now doing despite our contract loss, I decided I needed a piece of the action. ;)

Good news about my class. The dept head told me that the prerequites are not really enforced, so I don't have to take that Saturday class an hour away. I can sign up for what I originally wanted and wait for the other course to be offered on the main campus.

ginamarie - Glad you enjoyed your anniversary this weekend.

floridafam - Your home improvements sound great. Good luck!

Alice28 - I feel the same way you do about grandparents babysitting. My mom has Lucas when I work, but I pay her so it's not the same thing. I hate taking advantage of people when it comes to babysitting.

joats - Hope you find out what the itching is.

dizagain - How did your mall trip go?

lissawynn - I hope the workmen are able to get some work done on your house today.

llij - Good luck with the research paper!

glt - Hope your snow melts soon.

Alice- It’s so funny that you’ve been complaining about your BIL’s situation lately. I have the same type of problem with my dad supporting my brother. He’s paying him a part time salary every month basically for doing nothing! I just found out that DBro is in a bunch of debt, despite having borrowed money from myself, my mom and my grandmother allegedly to “pay off” his debts. His fiancé talked to me last week and said that they need some help closing out the credit cards and seeing if they can consolidate things. I just can’t believe that he got himself into all this financial trouble WITH my dad giving him an extra salary, and I can’t help thinking that the money has only enabled him into getting into more debt. What a mess!

Joats- I hope you got some rest and recovered some from feeling ill.

Jill- Have fun with taking John to school :) I had to write two thirty page papers in law school. Of course, I saved all of the writing until the last minute. I’m such a glutton for punishment that way.

DH had fun at the Giants game, even though they lost. He ate too much White Castle on the way to the game though, so he’s not feeling great this morning. Luckily, he’s working a late shift today, so he didn’t have to get up early for work, since he didn’t get home from the game until 2 am.

The meeting with my client went really well, though I had to schedule him to come in again on Tuesday night. At least he paid a retainer that I KNOW I’ve earned! I got a bunch of the cross-stitch and some laundry done yesterday too. I’m going to try to pack up my exchange package today.

OK, time to get some work done. Have a great Monday everyone!
