Ginamarie - That's so cute that your brother loves Olivia so much that he wants another sister. She's a lucky baby to have an uncle who loves her so much! I have an uncle who's 3 years older than me too and we have always been close, more like siblings. He's actually going to be Henry's godfather.

SL - Wow, I'd be annoyed if they tried to charge me for 1 hour developing when it took a day! Actually, I'd probably be more miffed by hanging out in the store for a half hour only to find out I wasted my time. But time is very sacred to me right now!

WDWBetsy - Sorry it took me so long, but welcome! I'm so glad to hear that you're doing well since Aubree was born. I remember you posting on the mom to be thread about your delivery and was wondering how you've been doing so I'm glad to hear things are better. And good for you for taking a baby free vacation. We sorta had one this past January, only it was an interview for my husband in Nashville so he was gone all day and I was pregnant and very sick so not much fun. I'd love a real trip without kids one day though!

BnB - I can imagine how hard it is to keep track of all the toys and stuff with 4 kids. I find it hard with just 2 of them. Right now I don't have to worry about Henry finding stuff, but I look around at Madison's tiny toys and think about what will happen once he is mobile.

Alice28 - Have fun with your shower on Saturday! Enjoy that cake too! I wish you could virtually send me some, though cake is the last thing I need. I hope Molly sleeps for you too.

Well I thought I had more time but Henry is stirring and I have to finish cleaning up before he wakes up. Oh, and we can go to the playdate now cause my package has arrived already. It was Henry's christening outfit which was why I did not want it just sitting outside. I wanted to try it on him, but he fell asleep right after it came so I guess it will have to wait.

Morning Girls!

Quick post and request for prayers and major pixie dust...

DH just called and told me that they may be able to move him to Memphis asap. This would be a "lesser" position - not a promotion at this time but they would keep him at his current salary. They are doing this to try and "make him happy" so he doesn't leave which is a good thing I think and they will promote him in Memphis as soon as opportunity arrises. Of course my heart is pounding but I need to be sure we won't be worse off financially by doing this. They have also said they won't pay for the complete move - only help out (we need to know what that means) as it's not a promotion and they moved us up here less than two years ago. SO, lots of questions still up in the air and it may amount to nothing at all, but MAYBE... :Pinkbounc And I'd be in the city with my grandmother (I'd be her only immediate relative and we would be so happy!), 4 hours from my dad, and 6 hours from my mom!! The closest (which is very sad) we will have been to each other in 6 years... plus we actually have several friends there too!

Well, I need to get going on the day - haven't accomplished a thing as of yet. Be back later!!! Have a great day!

dizagain - P&PD your way! :wizard: Sounds like a good opportunity. I hope things work out for the best.

justhat - Glad you got the Christening outfit. Let us know how it fits!

ginamarie - I was once staying at a friend's house in the dead of winter when they ran out of oil. It was terrible - you could see your breath inside and they didn't have a fireplace or anything. I'm so glad we have gas heat. I hope your supply isn't running low.

Just a quick post - they actually hired someone new here! She's supposed to start Monday and work part time but she's not going to be in my department. At least it's a step in the right direction.

I have a deadlien of noon for an article I'm writing. But am procrastinating -- can't get into the topic at all, a pictorial history book :rolleyes1 -- Hello DIS moms. I hope to come back later.

Dizagain - good luck with your dh's job situation! :wizard: I hope it all works out well for your family.

sl - congrats on the new hire.

gm - we have lots of drafty windows. I usually buy that plastic wrap thing for most of them, but haven't gotten around to it yet this season.

bnb - Hopefully Luke enjoys spitting out hairbands and toys and such. Leif will find and put all that stuff in his mouth but luckily, for months now, is also really good at walking up to me and sticking out his tongue with the icky stuff on it. Funny image I know, but it works! Of course, the boy still eats sand :confused3

OK, Must write

Hi everyone, just a very quick post to show you some pictures from my 4D scan earlier today- everything is well, he is a large chap already weighing 2lbs 6oz! And is in the upper range for all measurements so I think he is going to be a big boy when he is born!

We are just about to leave for the beach until Sunday - yeah I know what you are thinking - WHo goes to the beach in the UK in almost November!?!? :) We are mad!

Anyway here is Flumpy - having a yawn!

Hermosa~ What a nice grandma you are! I remember with all 3 of my children, venturing out to the grocery store or getting a bite to eat when they were a week or so old. I just started getting stir crazy at home! I didn't go out quite as much with my 3rd, but there were a variety of different reasons for that (she wasn't gaining weight, had to be pumping milk every 2 hours, DH was overseas, blah, blah, blah). But I still remember going to get McDonalds or whathaveyou with her when she was only a couple weeks old.

SL- I doubt you will be charged for the 1 hour photo fee....I am sure the scrapbook will come along eventually! Keep us posted on the job situation- new hires, or you looking elsewhere.

Diz- Wow- I will definitely be sending Pixie Dust and good thoughts your way about the possible move. Didn't you say you were originally from the south and Illinois was new for you?

Jill- We sure miss you too! I cannot, CANNOT, believe John will be one already. Has time truly gone that quickly? I am sure the party will come off great. :goodvibes

Gina- Our windows are so drafty too- it's horrible, esp because we spent a lot of money getting an expensive furnace put in in April. I feel like although it will be a more energy efficient and gas conserving furnace, half that warm air still gets sucked out of our crappy windows. All of them are either drafty OR they are painted shut. Nice. LOL about what your Dear Bro said to your Mom! I bet she got a laugh out of that one! :rotfl:

Justhat- I tend to brave Chuck E Cheese only on weekdays too, if it's a choice. DS is going to go there with 4 of his buddies the day after Thanksgiving for his birthday. DH offered to take them. I'm like, "Have Fun!" I've done Chuck E Cheese 4-5 times without DH, so now it's his turn!

OMG, Gems- I just scrolled down and saw your pictures of Flumpy- I have tears welling up! Those 4-D scans are AMAZING! Thank you so much for sharing, esp for those of us who know we aren't having any more! We can live vicariously through our pregnant mommies! I'm so happy he's healthy and he looks just perfect! Have fun at the beach!

GLT- good luck finished your article! :wizard:

WDW Betsy- I think you and your DH will really enjoy your time away. It will help so much that Aubree is with someone you know and trust. DH and I need a weekend away, and we hope to make it happen before Christmas. At least one night!

BNB- it is tricky going to WDW with all the different ages, and likes and dislikes, isn't it? My oldest son will do about everything. Younger son, not so much. And Molly isn't tall enough for everything yet (of course!). Anything that has a waterfall type drop, josh is scared of- if it's a roller coaster without water, (like Big Thunder), he's OK, but he's scared of Pirates and that waterfall! Crazy kid. He isn't phobic of water or swimming, so I don't get it.

I think I will just kind of decorate the tables with the cutouts- good idea ladies! And stick one on a decrated envelope for the diaper $$, if there is any.

Well, I already took the cats to the vet this AM to get their shots; their appt to get neutered is Nov 6th, and then they are done with doctor's visits for a year. Now I need to vacuum really quick before it's time to take Joshua to the bus. Then my mom and I are going shopping for material for a quilt for Molly (my mom is into making quilts now), and then we will grab a bite to eat. See ya!

Gems - Those pictures are amazing. Flumpy is beautiful!!

hermosa - I think newborns are pretty easy to take out since they mostly sleep. It is so nice of you to go and help out your daughter for 2 weeks. I'm sure she will appreciate it.

Diz - That's some big news!! I hope everything works out well for you :wizard: .

Robin - It sounds like fun planning the shower. I would be excited to plan my niece's bridal shower if my SIL wasn't such a b*tch. I hope Molly gives you that long nap.

Jill - I'm sorry you are missing your family so much. I'm sure you will be a great teacher and it will all be worth it in the end. I cannot believe John will be one. I remember when he was born. These kids are just getting too old.

justhat - I haven't braved Chuck E. in a long time. We usually end up having to go to a million parties there in the winter though. Going there with Aidan is like torture.

I am having a bad day at work. We got a memo this morning that just treated us as if we are children. The gestapo here wants us to notify the office if we leave campus for any reason and again upon return. They also want us searching the perimeter of the school for "suspicious activity". They are doing lock down drills this month. I think my principal has lost it completely. The administration is just breathing down our necks. They peek in our classrooms and have cameras on us everywhere. I actually used my memo as an example of Big Brother in my senior class today. I just couldn't help myself. The only reason I stay here is for the kids.

OK, I'm out of here.

Hi everyone. I'm exhausted as usual. We went to my mom's last night for dinner and to watch the Halloween parade. Jimmy seemed to enjoy himself, even though he has a runny nose and cough.
My house is beginning to close in on me. I have stuff everywhere and can't seem to escape the piles. I am getting a little batty at this point. DH and I discussed staying in our house as long as we can. We're basically going to live in our living room, kitchen, and bath. I just don't know if I can deal with being out of my comfort zone. I have my little routines and quirks like everyone else and just want to be comfy at this point.

I have to run to Wal-Mart tonight to get the stuff I need for my costume. I also have to buy some decongestant for Jimmy.

I hope you're all having a great day! I hope to respond to you all soon!

SL~ OMG, the same thing happened to me this weekend when I went to develop the photos from the buffalo park and the pumpkin patch. I am still in the stone ages and have a 35 mm camera so I dropped the film off at the 1 hour photo at the Wal-mart that was closest to the park. Then, we left and took Kylie to eat (and play) at a Burger King with a playland. When we were done we went to pick up the pictures. It had been over an hour at this point and the girl said the machine messed up and they wouldn't be ready for a while. So I asked for a timeframe of when they would be ready. She said she didn't know. It would either be that night or the next day. Problem was we don't live in that same town. We do only live about 20 min. away but still an inconvenience. So they called management to see how to fix the problem and told us it would be after 8 p.m. So I was pretty irritated but they did say there would be no charge and to call back at 8 to see if they were ready. Dh called back and of course they weren't. Their printer was messed up and they told me it would be atleast Tues. when they got a new one! They had processed my film, just hadn't been able to print the pictures. I could have waited another 3 days to get the film and it would have been free but I just didn't trust this Wal-mart anymore and wasn't sure they would really have them ready by Tues. So we picked up the film and took it to the Wal-mart closest to us the next day. We chose to pay for the film to be developed at the other Wal-mart just to be on the safe side. Sorry you had to deal with that too!

dizagain~ Good luck! If you do end up moving to Memphis, you won't be far from me! We live about 1.5 hours away from Memphis.

Gems~ Wow, that 4-D scan is amazing!

DisKim~ It's one thing after another with your job lately, isn't it? :( I can only imagine how stressed you are these days. I hope your school gets its act together soon!

Jill~ I am glad you are loving your placement! That is great! I may not get on here again before Friday so HAPPY B-DAY TO JOHN!!! I hope he has a great day! Where does the time go? I can't believe Kylie will be 18 months in a week and a half too!

Hi to everyone else! Kylie had her first flu shot today. I had no idea that they make infants and young toddlers get 2 doses of the shot. Anyway, she was my tough girl (as usual). She just watched the needle and didn't cry or anything else. I took her to ride the carousel in the mall and get something to eat before coming home. I have to get her next dose in a month. I didn't get her the flu shot last year but now that she is going to daycare part-time I'm too paranoid not to.

Speaking of her daycare, as much as I like it, they are starting to get on my nerves! They can't seem to keep up with paperwork to save their lives! When Kylie started at this daycare they told me I did not have to fill out an application since they had hers from the previous daycare. Then, a week later they asked me to fill out an application since they realized they could get in trouble with the state since the previous application had another daycare's name on it. Fine. I completely understood and I filled out a new one. Let me also add that this particular application is a PITA to fill out. So I took the application back and gave it to one of the teachers to turn in because Kylie's teacher was at a dr.'s appt. that day. The next time Kylie went to daycare her teacher tells me I need to make sure to fill out an application. I told her that I had and that "so-and-so" has it. Instead of checking with the other teacher she simply says they don't have it as though I was lying! After I am in school all day I just don't have the energy to argue with them! So I said whatever and I filled out yet another one! I gave it to her teacher and this time when I picked Kylie up I asked the director personally if she had it. Thankfully she did!

I thought that was the end of it. It was the end with the application but yesterday when I picked up Kylie her teacher told me that I need to get a 121 shot record form to put in Kylie's file. I told her that they should already have one. She argues and says it is incomplete. I asked her what she meant by "it was incomplete"? She said Kylie wasn't up to date on shots. Um, yes she is. They should have 2 forms on her. One was incomplete because she hadn't had her last dose of shots yet. The 2nd form was after her last dose and was complete. She proceeds to argue and says no, they don't have it (I guess I am just the biggest liar, right?) so I need to get it to them ASAP. Like I said, I just don't feel up to arguing over something so simple so I don't. I went ahead and picked up another 121 form today and I will be delivering it to the director in the morning. I am done giving it to the teachers as they apparently don't see to it that it goes to the appropriate person and then they develop amnesia when I tell them that I gave it to them. It's just annoying! Like I don't have enough to do these days. Sigh... Kylie really does seem happy with this daycare though so I am still happy with it too. The teachers are great with her. If it wasn't for the issue of them losing things I turn in to them I would have no issue at all.

On top of that, a letter arrived in the mail yesterday saying our health insurance has been cancelled! It's a long story but when dh was out of work after his hernia surgery this summer they continued to take the money for our ins. out of his check but the ins. people obviously didn't do their homework and were saying we haven't paid them in 2 months (which we have every single time and can prove it!) Dh's boss tried to resolve this last month and apparently the people again did not do what they were supposed to do so we get the letter saying we lost our benefits! Dh took it to his boss yesterday afternoon. His boss was also upset by it since he thought it had been resolved. He and dh are supposed to take care of it today! Wish us luck that it gets straightened out this time. I'm not crossing my fingers since apparently these people aren't too great at their jobs either. Kylie has her check up on Nov. 8 and I have my yearly PAP on Dec. 1 so this is no time to be without insurance. And if they take away our insurance then they damned well better make sure they pay us back all the money they have received toward it that they claim we haven't paid! I swear, I can't handle any more stress right now! Thanks for letting me vent!

On another note, my CPR class was actually fun yesterday. I loved the guy that was over it. He was a hoot! At least I am re-certified now. One less thing to do for my major! It would have been a good day if I had not had the letter waiting on me or an argumentive daycare teacher waiting on me too! Well, Kylie should be waking up soon and I need to finish up an assignment that is due tomorrow so I'd better go.

Hi! Thanks for the good wishes for DH - keep em coming as he should hear more details tonight or tomorrow morning. I did pull up housing in Collierville,Tennessee where we would live and we can definitely find something for at least 50,000 less than what we are paying now :yay:.

Anyway...

Gems - OMGOSH what wonderful sweet pictures! Have fun freezing at the beach! We went to the beach at Cape Cod once in late November and it was totally fun even though we were bundled up!

Tasha - how lucky you are to live down there...hoping to join you! Sorry Kylie's daycare administrators have no organizational skills, but I'm so glad she's happy there. And I hope you can get the health ins. straightened out - we had a similar issue once with our flex spending plan that took forever to straighten out. Oh and I always complain about taking CPR but then end up enjoying the class - especially when there's a cute fireman for the instructor! ;)

lissawynn - I don't blame you for wanting to remain at home as long as possible - I would try to as well. I know you must be going crazy with all you have going on - you're so tough!

diskim - I always feel sad when you talk about your work - I'm so sorry it's such a hard place to be. You do an awesome job, I'm sure!

robin - hope you had fun with your mom! how are the shower preparations going?

justhat - how was the play date? Can't wait to see a pic of Henry in his outfit! And you have me so curious about your knock-down drag-out "formal affair" for his christening...really can't wait to see pics of what your mom has come up with!

ginamarie - it's cold here too - I'm glad I don't have to check the oil as I wouldn't know how!

SL - sorry for the picture drama - what a pain!

BuzznBelle - Lucky you for finding the hair band in time! The girls know that over the CHristmas break we are packing up the playroom (dining room) as there's no way to keep Carson out as it's so open. I have a few more months of freedom, I guess!

WDWBetsy - good decision on the WDW trip - you'll have ever so much more fun! Your sisters sound awesome!

GLT - hope you got that assignment done! I love hearing about your job because it sounds like something I would love although I have no experience!

Hi to everyone - I wasn't finished posting, but Carson is definitely finished sleeping! By the way, the kid didn't sleep again, so I had to put him in the carseat about 1:45 and rock him to sleep! It worked for awhile at least! Anway, gotta go!

Justhat- What a coincidence that you also have an uncle three years older than you are. I’m glad to hear that you wound up so close, because I hope Olivia feels that way when she gets older.

Dizagain- It would be great if you could move closer to your family! I hope everything works out with your DH’s job.

SL- we just checked the oil tank a couple of weeks ago and it was at ¾ of a tank, so I’m sure we’re ok. I’m just paranoid because I have NO idea how quickly the oil gets used up since my parents/grandparents have electric heat. We don’t have a fireplace either, so if by some chance we DO run out of oil we’re headed to stay with some relatives!

GLT- Good luck with your article!

Gems- WOW, those 4Ds are incredible! I keep scrolling back to look at them because they’re so cool. Your Flumpy is too cute.

Alice- I worry about what the drafty windows are doing to our energy budget too. I just see dollar signs flying out the drafty windows! A lot of the windows in our house have been replaced, but the old ones that remained are not in such good shape.

DisKim- We once got a memo like that at my old job. “You must sign in with the front desk and out with the front desk and tell us where you’re going at all times, and request all your vacation days a year in advance,” etc. etc. I promptly threw it in the trash. Where I go on my lunch break is my business. I’m so glad I work for myself now. I can’t willingly conform to stupid rules

Lissawynn- Take the house construction one day at a time. My MIL was at her wits end while they were working on her house, but she got through it.

Tasha- Oh, I’m having the same issues with my job that you’re having with the daycare people. I send in forms and people claim they’ve never seen them, can you please resend them? I resend and call to confirm, but no, they don’t think they’ve seen it yet, can I call back later? GRRRR!
I hope your insurance situation gets fixed up!

Dizagain- Olivia wasn’t interested in sleeping today either. It’s so funny because DBro is THREE and he’ll still take a two hour nap in the afternoon, but the six month old won’t have it. She slept for about 20 minutes at the office before my mom picked her up, and then my mom said she wouldn’t go back to sleep until 5:30ish. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s awake again by now though.

Well, I talked about Thanksgiving with my family, and there’s no way we can celebrate on Thanksgiving. Too many people have to work. So we’re going to spend Thanksgiving Day with my in laws, and then my side of the family is having FAKE Thanksgiving on Saturday. My mom has no time to cook because she’s working double shifts beforehand, so she agreed to buy all the food and I’ll do all the cooking. Now I just have to figure out what to cook!! I mean I know we’re having turkey, but these holidays are HUGE eating extravaganzas in my family.

Oh, looks like my client got here early!!!

Just a quick post since we have to eat dinner. I just wanted to say that dh managed to personally resolve the insurance issue. The lady in charge said that they didn't terminate our insurance. They just sent the letter to try to get us to pay faster. She looked into it and realized there was nothing to pay! So anyway, she took care of it. Dh has doubts that his boss really tried to resolve it last month like he claimed. I had said the same thing but dh insisted his boss did. Now he is saying it was so easy to clear up that he suspects his boss lied and never even tried to fix it. Gee, ya think? I had been saying that all along. Dh is more trusting of his company that I am. We have been down similar roads with them too many times and I'll admit I am very cynical of them. Rightfully so, might I add. His boss is a complete jerk IMO and it wouldn't be the first time that he was responsible for something like this. And like I said in my previous post, it's a very long story, but dh's boss is directly responsible for why they think we owe money which is why dh expected him to clear it up in the first place. Oh, well, dh handled it and all is well in Tashaville now! ;)

WDWBetsy~ I am glad you made a decision. Aubree sounds like she will be in good hands and I know it will be a nice break for you and your dh. Our 7th anniversary is in a month and I am looking forward to an evening just the 2 of us as well.

GM~ My sisters are only 7 years older and 9 years older than Kylie. They thought it was so cool to be able to tell their friends at school that they are already aunts. Their friends were just in awe of it as well, lol!

Have a great night!

Dizagain - Yes, that was me who started the thread on not my neighbor not taking kids to the dentist - guilty as charged!. I would like to say however that I do enjoy a good conversation/debate on a variety of topics as long as there is no name calling or people who just make up something and generalize a subject. I think most of us can agree that school aged children should go to the dentist while I don't agree that by putting my kids in childcare that I am leaving them to be raised and learn their morals and values from "strangers". Ok, enough beating that dead horse!

Heck, one of the first times Tamie (Tkyes) and I spoke on the CB a few years back her and I had a conversation about my post regarding a co-worker taking naps in the car. We kept it friendly, and I got to see another side to an issue that I hadn't thought about before. That's the joy of a good (and friendly) debate.

(Edited to add - Prayers and good thoughts to you Dizagain and your DH's job situation. TiGem - I just LOVE those 4D Ultrasound pictures. It's amazing and so beautiful. Thanks for sharing! Tasha - I hope everything is ok with your insurance).

Anyway, I just found out that my OB/Gyn who delivered both of my children and who I hold with the highest regard as a human being is no longer delivering children! His oldest child went off to college, and they added a 5th person to their practice so he could spend more time having a homelife with his wife. He is still doing the Annual exams, however he is no longer delivering babies. Let me tell you how wonderful this man was - he was (is) a DIEHARD NY Giants fan, and I went into birth on Superbowl XXV at 7 am when the Giants were scheduled to play (and lost) in 2001. I was the only woman in the Maternity ward all day and this man was so great, he was with me a little before gametime wearing his NY Giants jersey, went home to watch the game, and came back after they lost and delivered Kevin at 2:14 the next morning. This was the same wonderful man who hugged me and consoled me through my second painful, heartbreaking miscarriage - looked me in the eye and told me "I promise you, you will have another baby (after lots of medication and many visits to his office, he was right!)". He delivered Liam also - who's birth was a lot faster than Kevin! I am so happy for him that during this time in his life he can actually scale back and spend time with his wife and have a life after being called out of bed at all hours of the night for 25+ years but in a way I wish other women could have the opportunity to have this wonderful man deliver their babies.

Well, i'd better run. Good night ladies - talk with you tomorrow.

Hi ladies!

I am still wayyyy behind and there's no catching up for me tonight. I just wanted to comment real fast about GEM's 4D pics! How wonderful they came out! Makes me miss being pregnant!

Hillbeans, also I am enjoying the dentist thread quite a bit and have to say that I cannot imagine that any parent would not take theiur kid to the dentist, insurance or not - I'd find the money! :confused3

Does anyone else watch Breaking Bonaduce on VH1? We had taped the new episode and I still can't get over this guy's life. And the fact they allow VH1 to tape it all. It makes for great reality TV though and we enjoy it quite a bit.

Well, I am off to bed. We had a real estate agent come by tonight and it looks like we'll be putting up our house after the holidays. The market here has cooled off ALOT and that means it may take a while for us to sell and we probably won't get what we hoped for. But it also hopefully means when we're ready to buy another house we can get a lower price too.

Goodnight girls

Hey - quickie mommy question...

Carson has been hoarse all day - at times he barely makes sounds at all. BUT, he does not have a cold, is not coughing, has not been cranky or acting like something's wrong, and has no breathing issues that I can hear/see. So, can babies just get laryngitis...ok, I have no idea how to spell that but you know what I mean...like nothing's wrong other than his hoarse voice? I haven't really worried about it until now that we're going to bed...what do you think?

dizagain - I have no idea :confused3 Hopefully it's nothing. I think Leif had a short stint when his voice was a bit off (like a sore throat thing) but no other symptoms and he seemed to get through it, hopefully that's the case for you. :wizard:

Gems - those photos are incredible. It must have been awesome to be there. Congrats! Glad things are going well.

DIS Moms - catch up another time, miss you!

dizagain~ I don't know about babies and laryngitis but I do know my cat had it once. He wasn't sick and I didn't know cats could get laryngitis. I spoke to the vet and, sure enough, they can get it! So I am just taking a wild guess here but if a cat can get it then I say sure, a baby probably can too. You would be better off asking his pediatrician if you're worried though since I am just guessing based on my experience with a cat and certainly not licensed to give medical advice about either humans or animals! ;)

Okay, ladies, I got my workout in, studied for my quizzes, did all my assignments...I am actually done early for once! I have to shower and blowdry my hair and I will actually be in bed by 1 a.m.! I know that sounds late but it is usually much later than that before I am through with all I need to do and in bed. So I am excited! And wow, I just realized I managed to post 3 times today! That is a record for me these days! Night!

ok once again this thread is flying fast! im going ot do my best...

T16GEM Adorable photos! Isnt technology amazing!

DisKIM: sorry things are work as so crazy....what do you teach?

Lissawynn:sorry im new, are you remodeling? how long until you get things back to normal? I hope it isnt too long for you!

Tasha&scott:whats your major? thats too bad about the scatterbrained daycare, although I guess if they have to be scatterbrained about somethign I am glad it is the paperwork and not the care of the children!

dizagain: sorry i have no idea, as long as he isnt running a fever or appears to be in any pain i guess i would just wait and see a bit??? sorry im not much help.

So last night my parents watched the kids and dh and I ate our 3rd meal alone in 3 years - it was wonderful! As we left the house, we decided to go to a bar to eat so that we could get an escape from 'kid' places, and feel like adults. So I joked that we would probably end up sitting next to some trashy family with a whole slew of kids in the bar, and sure enough, we open the door to this tiny little smoky corner bar, and out comes a family with a TINY baby in an infant seat and like 3 toddlers...........dh was holding the door trying SO HARD not to laugh cuz we had JUST talked about it........ Had great food though, they make these homemade mozzerella sticks that are like LOGS of cheese, and some big ole tenderloins, yummy.

But dh punctured his hand with an awl yesterday(? IDK what that is really) at work, and it was hurting real bad today, so he went to the hospital. They said it was infected so bad that if he woudl have waited another day they would have had to do surgery............but they gave him a shot of antibiotics, and a perscription, and told him he is to not work tomorrow, and go back to the doctor on friday......so he is home on workers comp tomorrow with us. It will be nice to have him home on a weekday, although I wish his hand were not throbbing......

Ellie fell asleep on her own in her crib today.......that is a very big deal for her...........and Tavian pooed in the potty TWICE today, and went all day in big boy pants with no accidents.....which is a very big deal for him too, so I am proud of my kiddos today!

I only have a minute. Thanks for the kind words about my job. I'm really starting to lose it. I'm planning on speaking to the AP that made that rude announcement today. Someone has to speak up and I'm tired of pretending to be nice and letting these things slip by.

GM - I laughed at your comment about not being able to conform to someone else's rules. That hits the nail on the head for me. I love teaching but I can't deal with the administration and all their stupid games.

Tasha - You are one busy girl. Do you at least get to sleep in? You'll probably look back on the time you were in school and wonder how you did it.

Staci - I teach high school English.

lissawynn - I totally understand the whole comfort zone thing. I'm the same way.

zalansky - Best of luck with the future sale of your house :wizard: .

diz - I can't help. I have no idea what could be wrong with the baby.

Hillbeans - I'll have to check out your dentist thread when I get a chance.

I am actually taking the kids for their Christmas pictures tonight. Wish me luck!!

I wish I had more time, but I have to go!!

Good morning all! I couldn't get back to sleep after Luke's 4 am nursing--I hope I can make it through Survivor awake tonight!

Gems--I just love the picture of Flumpy scratching his head! Those are some incredible pictures!

Gina--If you're paranoid about having enough oil, consider calling an oil company for an automatic delivery plan. They figure out when you need oil based on degree-days (how cold it's been) and your personal usage. Most companies do this, so it's worth calling around to see the best rate. We have a 550 gallon oil tank, and a fill-up is more than our mortgage--yikes! And good luck with the Thanksgiving feast--I'm Italian, I know all about the 3 hour sit-down meals with all the trimmings for everything. At Grandma's at Easter, we had to have both a roast and a turkey, with all the fixin's for both (not to mention the salad course, the pasta course...).

Hillary--That's nice about your OB being able to scale things back. The OB/GYN I go to has a cult following, too. he's a solo practicioner who only married ~10 years ago, so he never had kids of his own. It's funny to hear him talk, because he has step-kids now, and has no clue what kids are like, even though he's delivered thousands. If he ever retires, he's going to leave a whole slew of depressed ladies behind.

staci--That's great about getting both a kid who gets herself to sleep AND an accident-free day, at the same time! Isn't it funny, those little things that get us so excited!

Tasha--Glad you got the insurance stuff all straightened out. I'm the queen of dealing with insurance companies, due to several years of Robert having major medical issues and ambulance transports, hospitalizations, ER visits, you name it. We've always had insurance, always called, made our co-pays, etc., so I've never lost an argument with an insurance company, but I've had plenty. Fortunately, I've dealt with people who would at least listen, and I've always kept ALL the paperwork. But it sure is heart-stopping to get some of the bills, where it's 1000's of $ and they're about to go to collection. BTW, I hope things improve at the day care. At least your DD is having a lot of fun there, that's the most important thing. But I would start to wonder how professional a business it is, if they continue to lose your paperwork. You'd think they would work hard to keep track of the vital information!

Hi to everyone else--time to get my girls up!
