The Official LOST Season Five *No Spoilers* Thread

What do you all think about Vincent (the dog)? Every once in a while he suddenly appears and is used for some purpose then disappears again. Last year, they strapped one of those homing phones to him as a decoy. Then we didn't see him again until last night. As soon as the screen showed Vincent, DH and I were both "OK, how is vincent going to help them this time?" We fully expected him to pop out when the DI guys grabbed Sawyer and Juliet, but instead it was Locke. So, what about Vincent? Was his appearance some foreshadowing? Will he be used for some purpose? Was he thrown in just to remind us that he is on the island? Was he thrown in to trip us up? :happytv:

I think they show him every once in a while to remind us he is still there. I know that until I saw him Wednesday night, I had forgot all about him.

So excited about the new season!!! The whole time travel thing is so confusing though. Just when you think you are starting to understand something, they throw something else at you and everything goes spinning again.

Here is my take on it:
- I think (or I should say hope) that Sun is working against Widmore and is really trying to get him in the end. I know she hates Ben (doesn't everyone?:rotfl: ) but I would think that she would blame Widmore more then Ben for Jin's death, seeing as how that was Widmore's boat that blew up. She would really have no way of knowing about Ben killing Keamy (:sad1: ) and being the one who was actually responsible for the explosion.

- I think that Ben is the one that sent the lawyers to Kate's door looking for a blood sample. By instilling the fear in her that she could lose Aaron she may be more willing to run from the law (yet again :rolleyes2 ) and go back to the island.

- I think the scientist chick that Ben was talking to at the end is Faraday's mother and I really hope that she can help save Charolette. Especially because Faraday loves her and darn it, I like Faraday. :goodvibes

Now, I have some questions.

- What is going to happen to Sun and Jin's baby? She is in Korea right now and if Ben gets everyone together and they "leave" for the island how is she going to get her?
Is she going to have to leave her in Korea? They only have 70 hours, that is not enough time to get her, is it?
Ben told Hurley that he was never coming back from the island again. Does the same hold true for the other survivors? There is no way, short of drugging her, that she will leave her child forever!!

I've been thinking the same thing, she wouldn't know Ben had a hand in it. Your sad face made me giggle. I'll miss Keamy, too. :sad1:

I don't know what will happen with Sun's baby. She's got big bucks now, if she goes willingly, I think 70 hrs is enough to go back to Korea to get her, but if she goes unwillingly :confused3 . I also think Jin is still alive somewhere, and am hoping for a reunion.

Loved seeing Rose and Bernard last night. I just love them and wish their roles would be expanded. That Neil guy was so annoying, I was just thinking "oh no, why are they adding this stupid character to the mix now", when he got hit with the flaming arrow. :happytv:

Does anyone else remember a couple of seasons ago, weren't the producers insistent that the story wasn't going to be about time travel? :confused3 I don't even know for sure what significance I think that has, but it seems odd to me to keep seeing all this going on, when I'm sure I'd read that time travel wasn't a part of it. :confused3 Any thoughts on that?

I was cracking up over that Neil guy! His whining was so extreme it was hilarious, and we knew right away he would be killed. I think he was just thrown in as an annoying character they'd get to kill right off in a horrific way.

And yes, I remember them saying it was not time travel and I wonder about that too. Maybe they just meant that when they crashed on the island, it was not a time travel incident, and they did not mean that there would never be time travel as a part of the story in the future.

I think they were saying that what was going on in the season at that time was not about time travel. If I remember correctly, DH and I caught that they were very careful with their language and wondered if something would be related in the future.

I think Charlotte is a goner guys. I hear she's making a movie and it interferes with the LOST schedule. I did read in a preview of the season that, by the end of Feb., a character will die and a character we thought was dead will come back. (I'm hoping it's Jin!)

I had heard the same thing about Charlotte. I would be surprised if the reincarnated one was not Jin. I would love for it to be Charlie. But that ain't happening. :sad1:

Oh, that's a good catch! I didn't notice that.

That reminded me of the science teacher Arnst... remember when he got blown up by the old dynamite from the Black Rock and Hurley said... "Dude you have a piece of Arnst on you.." :rotfl2:

I'm wondering if it has to do with having a Constant. The survivors all have hidden ties to each other and to the island. Daniel's Constant is Desmond who he met again. Miles has his dead people. I'm wondering if Charlotte doesn't have a strong enough Constant to keep her alive while the island shifts back and forth. Or maybe I am completely thinking in the wrong direction.

No I think you are on the right track! If you recall last season people on the freighter died because of the time travel issues and their syptoms started off as a headaches and nosebleeds.

:lmao: :happytv: Oh, yea! That line was classic!

Tonight is Lost night!:goodvibes

This was in a preview, so it's not really a spoiler:

My DS18 saw a Lost preview while he was watching tv last night (I missed it). He said they showed Jin, and it looked like he was with the survivors and it did NOT look like a flashback.:cool1: Let's hope Jin survived the explosion on the freighter! I've had a feeling he did, but nothing's certain until we actually see him again. Keep your fingers crossed!

It's Wednesday!!! :cool1:

Cannot wait for tonight's episode!!!

I will not forget about LOST tonight. I will not forget about LOST tonight. I will not forget about LOST tonight. :thumbsup2
