Ok, so the lady in the church that Ben went to see at the end of last night's episode is the same woman in Desmond's flashback when he bought the engagement ring for Penny, also the woman in the photo on the monk's desk.

Is it possible she's also Daniel's mother? She was writing some heavy-duty equations on the chalkboard. So....if Desmond goes to find Daniel's mother at Oxford and sees that it's the same lady who told him not to marry Penny and that if people are destined to die you can't change it....how will Desmond react when he sees her?

And I also want to know who "Jill" in the butcher shop is. You know she's somehow related to somebody on the island.

While I really don't want Desmond going back to the island, from the previews it looks like he'll try to save his friends. I wonder if Penny will go with him? If they have a baby, I doubt she would. But what if she does go with Desmond? Ben wants to kill Penny since Widmore (through Keamy) killed Alex. Could be an interesting show-down on the island!

Okay!! Great episode last night!!! Loved every bit of it.

One thing I caught was in the first hour of the recap show. When they were showing Sun now, they said she wanted to avenge Jin because she "believed" he died. Did anyone else catch that? They didnt say he died, so maybe it is still a possibility.

When we saw Daniel at the beginning of the movie, where he'd infiltrated Dharma, do you think he'd done that before the crash? Or do you think he did that while he was gone from the group for those 2 hours, after he talked to Desmond at the hatch?

Good question. We know that the time right now is the same time that the Dharma group was there. I'm wondering if Daniel will have to infiltrate Dharma in order to put time right for the survivors.

Yep, DH caught that, too. I've been saying that Jin somehow survived the explosion - he was running toward the helicopter when the freighter exploded, so it's quite possible he was thrown clear, hung onto a piece of debris and somehow made it to the island (or was sucked into the "field" when the island moved, just like Daniel and the folks on the Zodiac).

Weird speculation here: what if Sun somehow manages to kill Ben to avenge Jin's death, then finds out that Jin is alive and by killing Ben she REALLY messed things up for the island and the survivors?

The woman in the butcher shop is "Jill" -- looked sooooo familiar to me. I'm sure I've seen her on the show before. (I feel the need to now dig around the internet to find the answer) The woman in the church, as others have pointed out, was the one Desmond went to a few seasons ago to buy the engagement ring for Penny. The actress' name is Flanagan - Finola maybe? She's been around for a while. I'm wondering too if she is also Daniel's mother but didn't she have an accent? Daniel doesn't.

What do you guys think is up with Charlotte? What's wrong with her? In present day, she seems alive and fine; but when they time-travel backwards, she's bleeding from the nose and has headaches. How does all of that fit in?

I'm wondering if it has to do with having a Constant. The survivors all have hidden ties to each other and to the island. Daniel's Constant is Desmond who he met again. Miles has his dead people. I'm wondering if Charlotte doesn't have a strong enough Constant to keep her alive while the island shifts back and forth. Or maybe I am completely thinking in the wrong direction.

I love Desmond and Penny and hope nothing happens to either of them! I loved the episode last night and was a little confused at times. You really have to think fast when you watch this show!

I was thinking it might be that when the island goes back in time she may be at two places at the same time. She is there as a child and there as an adult also.

Did you notice that when Daniel saw that Charlotte was bleeding he ran to his bag and looked in his book of notes. He then went to the hatch and told Desmond to look for his mother in Oxford.

Richard wont recognize Lock for the same reason that Ethan didn't recognize Lock when he shot him. Lock will time travel prior to the plane crashng on the island before Richard knew of Lock. Even though Richard went and tested Lock as a child, he probably did not do that until after the plane crashed and Lock was identified as the potential new leader.

At this point the biggest question to be answered for me (which was not answered last night) is can the others, Ben, Richard et al control in anyway time travel? Can they do it at will or must they merely let the island throw them around in time? The answer to this would explain why Richard would not recognize Lock the next time he saw him. It would be because prior to the plane crash he had never met him and his trip back to visit a young Lock was only thought of after the others met him. Thinking about this as I write it that has to be the case because Richard brought Lock's future posessions back in time with him to ask the young Lock which were his.

Finally the big reveal for me last night was how much knowledge Faraday has of the whole thing. Between his appearance at the construction of the Swan station to his little book that has all the answers, its apparent he knows a lot more than everybody else.

I agree - the whole Daniel thing answered quite a bit for me.... of course, for every question that is answered, I find 3 more questions!!!

She was and went to trial. It is all there on last season.

Me neither! I can only see them killing him off at the end or if he's able to come back as a ghost or something. He's too big of a character -- it would be like killing Jack or Locke... oh wait, they did kill Locke.

Kate was arrested, just not right away. She had to go to court for a murder trial, and that's when Jack came and spoke in her defense, calling her a hero for saving the 6 of them after the crash. Her mother also ended up not testifying against her, which sort of blew the case.

She was sent to trial; Jack wound up testifying on her behalf and she got off. I'm fuzzy on the details as to why though.

And each show should be about a 12 hour marathon. I am always frustrated at the end. My husband has boycotted this show and makes fun of the storyline because it is so crazy!

That actress(Fionnula Flanagan) is most recognizable to me from the role she played in the "The Others"(ironic ). You know, the Nicole Kidman movie. She played the older housekeeper.

That was the communications officer named Minkowski(played by Fisher Stevens). And you're right. He did have a nosebleed right before he died. He died because he didn't have a constant . He needed a constant(something or someone that is present in both times) to "attach" himself to normal time.

Thank you! That's what I was missing. I couldn't remember the constant. It's weird that only she doesn't have one though, isn't it?

Anyone else hoping we might see the original island inhabitants? The ones that made the big foot with the weird number of toes? That's what I was thinking with the flaming arrows.
