how many times has he been on this island? (that one person said something like "you've come back")
how long has he known Widmore?
Who's his mother? (is it that jewelry lady that Ben went to in the church last week?)

Then I have so many questions about Widmore!!

I about fell out of my chair when they showed the young Widmore! That's huge, just don't know how it is huge yet... Typical of my confusion with this show!

So did Juliette actually recognize those Others, or did she just know they were because of them speaking Latin? And why was Sawyer fully clothed all night?

I know he was on it with the Dharma Inititive, but I don't think the people yesterday "knew" him. I think that they assumed he was US military coming back for the bomb.

Yeah, I want to know what happened to that girl Desmond visited. What did Daniel do to her? Do you think he tried to "time-travel" her and it went wrong?

And I guess we all now know that Daniel's mother IS the woman Desmond tried to buy an engagement ring from. Can't wait to see his reaction when he finds her in LA. And nothing better happen to Penny! Remember last season, Ben threatened Widmore that he was going to kill her because Widmore's men had killed Ben's daughter? I wish Widmore had just told Des about that threat so he would know to keep her safe. But no - now Penny is going to LA with him; I don't like where this may lead.

I think the time period they were in (1954) was before the DHARMA Initiative had come to the island...that seemed more like the 60's / 70's.

It is getting pretty confusing the time changes.

Just to be clear, Desmond, Penny, Jack, etc. they are 3 years in the future AFTER leaving the island...correct? I was taken aback when Penny was giving birth....I don't recall her being pregnant!

The preview for next week looks great....almost sounds like they "jump" forward in time to when they were on the island...and the scream from the jungle, could that be Claire?? Is she listed in the cast for this season?

No - the producers have said that Claire is not part of the cast this season.

In the preview, doesn't Sawyer say he saw Kate in the jungle? Not sure if I heard that correctly.

Yep, I heard that in the preview, too. I guess we'll doing some more jumping into the future on the island. So that means somehow the Oceanic 6 DO get back to the island.

I think Juliette just guessed that the 1950's military people were Others. I'm wondering if she knows more about Richard than she's telling, or she's just coming to realize (like we are) that Richard has been with the Others forever??

My DS18 had a thought: know how Hurley's been having conversations with dead people? Wouldn't it be neat if Desmond's Charlie will somehow "channel" the dead Charlie and warn Desmond about things? (Personally, I think it would be cool if Desmond's Charlie would start singing "We Are Everybody"!)

I'm as confused as ever, but I'm happy we at least found out why Richard Alpert visited Locke when he was a little and gave him a choice of items of which he felt a connection to. Can anyone refresh my memory if Locke did indeed pick the compass when he was little? I thought that was so cool.

No, I don't think Locke picked the compass, and Richard seemed upset that he didn't. BUT....Richard asked the child Locke which one of those items was his. Locke didn't get the compass until the future, and compass really wasn't Locke's, it was Richard's, so that might be why child Locke didn't choose the compass. Does that make sense? (I know, not much on this show makes sense, does it? )

Nope, I think she IS Daniel's mom. Daniel told Desmond to find his mother at Oxford, but when Desmond went to Oxford, she wasn't there. But Desmond found out that Widmore was bankrolling DAniel's research, so he went to visit Widmore. Widmore gave Desmond an address for Daniel's mom - she's in LA. Which is where Ben is. So yes, the lady lighting candles IS Daniel's mom.
