I'm glad to hear how well your mom is doing! Sounds like she has made excellent progress and I know a big part of that is her support system from you and your family!
I hear you about kids growing up fast...my baby turned 7 on May 1st and I can hardly believe it...how quickly the years pass by. I'm glad that we enjoy every second with them since time flies! We still have a while before school ends. Our school year is September through June here. DH and I are counting down the days of instruction we have until the end of the semester...19 days of teaching left for high school! Then we have 8 working days afterwards for high school Regents exams (NY State exams in every subject), plus one day in early June for professional development without students in attendance. So a total of 28 working days and then we're off for the summer! Really looking forward to that. DH and I have both worked a lot of overtime this year so summer vacation will be a welcome relief from the hectic schedule every day. We're also waiting to vote on our new NYC teachers' contract here, which will be very soon. If it is ratified it will be put into place before the end of the school year and we will start with a slight raise.
Have a very happy birthday! May and June are huge in our family for birthdays (6 altogether) so I know all about indulging at this time! Add in Memorial Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day and it's just so much, but all good things which is as it should be. This year we also have my niece's graduation from elementary school. The last of the celebrations is my parents' anniversary on July 1st. Of course followed by our annual July 4th BBQ. Then we will have two weeks until we hit the road for our WDW trip!
