*** The Official July 2014 thread, join us won't you? ***

We book at midnight tonight, so thanks for the info! Do you suggest just clicking on two people when it asks who they're for, or clicking all four of us and then going back and editing?

You could do all 4 and then go back and edit the ride/experience for just 2 of you. I think that worked better than doing them separately for 2 at a time.

We just booked about two weeks ago we are going from July 26th to July 31st! We are staying at POR for the first time can't wait!

:welcome: to the July group, so glad to have you with us. I will add you to the front page. Just think, you don't have long to wait!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! Thinking of doing a couple fake ones now to practice, ha!

ETA: Wow! You are so right! I didn't realize you had to do all three at once for each day. I thought you could do one at a time. Doing them for everyone and then going back and editing is going to be way easier! Thanks :)

Has anyone done the online check in?

How soon can you do the early check in? Is it at the 60 day mark as well?

AKL was one of our best online check in experiences ever! When you do online check in it asks you what time you think you'll be arriving. We put our time, and just so happened to get there almost right on the money of what we thought (that never happens!) We walked in and I heard a voice call out "Welcome Mrs ________" and I was like "What?!" It just felt really cool that they knew it was us and greeted us by name. It made us feel so important ;)

That is awesome!!

Hi! First post on dis boards, but I have been stalking it for sometime! Headed to AoA July 20th -with my DH and DD who is 3 - counting down the time to get fp and praying to get A&E on the day I want them (or anytime at all!)

Welcome!!

I have a question about the base tickets for whoever can answer it. First of all, when the heck did they change the hours for that place?? DH went to get tickets yesterday right after work at 4:00pm, and the lady said they no longer sell tickets after 3:00pm and he'd have to come back! What???? So we do not have tickets now, and I just have to hope that DH can pick them up Monday because our fast pass day is on Tuesday. But the question is, when we get the tickets, is there anything special I have to do to put them in MDE? Do I just type a code in? How does that work.....

Also, I read that they have to be activated. So when we get to Disney where do we do this at and how soon should we do it?

I wanted to do an update about home life real quick! My mom is doing AMAZING! She is seeing her doctor weekly and her pancreas is decreasing in size every week, it's incredible!

DD17 has graduated from high school!! We're now the parents of a high school graduate, it's crazy. DS15 will be here next weekend, we're meeting his mom in Oklahoma either Saturday or Sunday. We have everything ready for him, I bought a bunch of gushers, cookie crisp cereal, and bbq sauce for him (all his requests lol). DS8 only has until Thursday for school and then he's out for the summer. My baby is about to be a 3rd grader! We're celebrating my birthday this weekend, it's actually on Tuesday which happens to be our fast pass day! But we're doing family dinners and things this weekend and I have eaten my fill of everything. I feel like I just want to nap now.....

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!

Passing some time waiting to do my FP+ reservations and finally found an earlier Ohana for the date we've been waiting for :cool1: I just canceled a ressie for 4 for July 17 at 7:55 pm in case anyone wants it. I also posted on the canceled reservation thread.

Just finished my FP+. It took about 40 minutes due to all the adjusting I had to do to give the riders the non-riders bands to ride other things (if that makes any sense :lmao:) I think I did it all right. Sort of delirious! :lmao:

ETA:
I wanted to share a tip for anyone who hasn't booked yet. This may have already been mentioned, but I don't recall reading it.

When you make your initial time selections choose the opposite of what you want to edit it to. For example, if you're going to use your FP+ in the morning, choose your initial times in the afternoon and then go back in and edit to the morning. I was doing it the opposite way and the times were conflicting. For example: I did the initial time booking as follows
Buzz 10:15=11:15
7DMT 11:45-12:45
Ariel 12:45-1:45

When I went in to edit I had a hard time because trying to change 7DMT to 9:30-10:30 was conflicting with the Buzz time and it just made things more complicated. If your initial times are far away from the times you're trying to get it will make your life easier when adjusting them :thumbsup2 Hope that makes sense!

I'm glad to hear how well your mom is doing! Sounds like she has made excellent progress and I know a big part of that is her support system from you and your family!

I hear you about kids growing up fast...my baby turned 7 on May 1st and I can hardly believe it...how quickly the years pass by. I'm glad that we enjoy every second with them since time flies! We still have a while before school ends. Our school year is September through June here. DH and I are counting down the days of instruction we have until the end of the semester...19 days of teaching left for high school! Then we have 8 working days afterwards for high school Regents exams (NY State exams in every subject), plus one day in early June for professional development without students in attendance. So a total of 28 working days and then we're off for the summer! Really looking forward to that. DH and I have both worked a lot of overtime this year so summer vacation will be a welcome relief from the hectic schedule every day. We're also waiting to vote on our new NYC teachers' contract here, which will be very soon. If it is ratified it will be put into place before the end of the school year and we will start with a slight raise.

Have a very happy birthday! May and June are huge in our family for birthdays (6 altogether) so I know all about indulging at this time! Add in Memorial Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day and it's just so much, but all good things which is as it should be. This year we also have my niece's graduation from elementary school. The last of the celebrations is my parents' anniversary on July 1st. Of course followed by our annual July 4th BBQ. Then we will have two weeks until we hit the road for our WDW trip! :)

Got online at midnight Friday to do our Fastpasses, and wow, it look me about an hour to get it squared away. It was that darn A&E! Lol! It was only showing standby for the day we initially wanted it so I had to readjust a few things. I was a tad miffed that when I chose 1 attraction, it threw random ones in the for me. What I ended up doing was booking it, then adjusting all the times to evening slots/changing the experience, then adjusting times again to have it show/get late morning/afternoon, etc. Eventually I ended up getting everything generally where we wanted it.....but I had to put A&E on day 9 of our trip. It was the only day that gave me the 9-10 time slot. We'll be in the park at 8 that day (and every other day we're at MK) and figured it'll be good to get through it early! :-). 59 days to go!!!! Can't wait!

Hello all - just wanted to subscribe and say we will be going back to WDW after 4 years away. Finalized summer plans rather late but took advantage of the 30% offer to be able to stay for the first time at the GF 7/9-7/17! Our Magic Bands have been selected but I presume they won't ship until after the close date on 6/10. Looking forward to a magical time with DW and 2 teenage daughters who have been going since they were 2YO.

Summers in the south is what I live for lol. We are at my moms pool almost every day after work, we bbq and cook and just hang out. On the weekends it's the same, I love it!

It's so crazy! She's planning on going to college in Colorado, I'm very excited for her but I wish she would stay closer to either us or to family in Nebraska, I'm worried about her being on her own lol.

I am setting up a sprinkler for the dogs this week. Marley LOVES water and he has a plastic kiddie pool he likes to lay in, so we're going to see if he likes the sprinkler too!

Did anyone do the customized maps? We got ours in yesterday!!!! I LOVE them!!
