What does the 7-up do?

OK ........ Just a minute, :bitelip: I am having a Senior Citizen Moment :lmao: I was told it tones down the tannins in the Grape Juice. So I believed in it and my mind went to working and I got well. :) So, I have been tell people about it. ::yes::

OOHH !! I forgot and I was told so here goes... the sprite is sweeter than 7-Up. - I promise...

Don't have either so it's... White grape and ginger ale! Lol

OK, that will have to do!!! :thumbsup2 - JUST BELIEEEEEEVE and it will work :cloud9:

So I am now seeing all this great stuff about Swan/Dolphin! But, you can't take advantage of DDP (which I love for pure convenience). I've been on the thread over there (I know I go from CSR to DVC renting to CSR to Swan) just wanted to know what my friends here think of it?

My parents and sister stayed at the Dolphin last summer. They all really loved it. 2 years before they had stayed at Pop and they liked Dolphin much better. They give a discount for teachers and anyone who works in a school. My sister is an assistant principal so they got a discount for both rooms. I saw the resort. Very beautiful, terrific pool area, their CS place is good (I grabbed something there a couple of times from BWV, as it's just a short walk), and it's in an excellent location. You could walk or take the boat to DHS and Epcot. But you're correct, no DDP there. So you would have to budget your meals in advance, if you're like me (I budget everything in advance and over estimate so we break even or come out ahead).

And no worries about contemplating different resorts...this is all part of the fun! Sometimes I contemplate trying another DVC resort on one of our trips, but then I feel like we would miss BWV too much because we really do love it there!

Well hopefully you are fast asleep :) Goodluck on your 1st day of school, as I'm sure it will go as smooth as smooth can go. Was today grandparents day (argh! How could I not know?) well I ordered out and invited my parents over so maybe they think I did remember?? Sounds like you had an amazing day... I mean cheesecake... Doesn't get much better than that!
I'm wide awake because ds10 is hugging the toilet.... Stomach virus... Not fun (ESP when he might miss a day so early in the year). My boys hardly ever miss school so this is not setting a good start.
~ well, hope you have a great first week and find time to check in with us here ;)

I'm so sorry your son was sick. I can't deal with stomach viruses. I have this huge fear of throwing up and I get crazy when a virus is going around. Back in March, the boys and I all had one, 3 days apart each, like clock work. DH escaped that one. They're the worst.

I fell asleep around midnight on Sunday. Then DS6 woke up in the middle of the night crying (bad dream and he was all sweaty...3am). He went back to sleep quickly, but I tossed and turned and when the alarm rang at 5:00, I felt like I hadn't fallen back asleep. But I ran on adrenaline, as I usually do the first day of classes. It went very well...very nice students, and I'm getting used to being back at work. Very tired but by next week I should be even more used t the schedule.

I hope your son is feeling better and that everyone else is all right.

Sounds like you and your family had a great time.. Loved to have been there. :goodvibes

Congrat's - Speaks highly of you to be assigned a Student Teacher. She will learn a lot from you. :teacher:

Jitters - I'm sorry - wishing a super first day back to school. :love:

Thanks so much for that compliment! Actually, for the past couple of years, NYU requests me as the cooperating teacher whenever they have a student teacher who is majoring in Italian and Education. I enjoy working with them. It's a lot of work but also very rewarding.

Sorry - can't help but when we resort hop and take the bus to Yacht and Beach Club we stop at the 2 Resort Hotels.

They are very beautiful and look very ritzy. The look makes you feel as if you are driving up to one of those Hotels in Dubai. :lmao:

The Staff dresses in typical 5 ***** Hotel uniforms, so it feels a little different from driving up a Disney Resort and being greeted by Cast Members dressed in clothing matching the décor of the Resort.

Sorry, I know none of this is relevant to what you are asking for but just wanted to type something on Dis.....:rotfl2:

Have a Great Day..:goodvibes

Thank you all for the well wishes.. It was only a quick 24 hour thing thank goodness!
You all make Swan/Dolphin sound AMAZING!!!! But, I really like the idea of park passes, room key, dining all on one card or band. I think I would be way to unorganized to keep track of everything separately.
I do appreciate the feedback and who knows maybe I will. I've just need to get on the ball and make a decision. Hmmmm.

Happy Friday everyone!!! :woohoo:

Well, over here, we made it through the first week of school. The boys are very happy with their teachers and they're very lucky. They have wonderful teachers! My nieces had both of them when they were in first and third grade, so I already knew how great they were. DS8's teacher is wonderful dealing with his food allergies. I sent in a note the first day explaining his allergy, along with 2 epi-pens and the form the doctor had to fill out in order to keep the epi-pens at school in the nurse's office. Today they had a birthday party for one of the girls in his class and the girl's mother called me to let me know that she and the teacher read the labels thoroughly, and so did DS8! It turned out to be ice cream he eats all the time so he knows he can eat it, but he read the ingredients and allergy statement anyway. I am so proud of him for being responsible, and so happy with the teacher for making an effort to keep him safe. The mother called me because she didn't want me to get nervous when ds8 came home and told me what he ate at the party, just in case he didn't tell me they read the label. I'm going to write a nice letter to his teacher to thank her for making sure he is safe. :)

As for work, my students are wonderful! My classes are going well, the students we already working hard and seem to enjoy Italian class. My student teacher is great too, and already establishing a good rapport with my students. I had my first meeting for the show I run which is performed in February. The kids who are too leadership are very excited to start the whole process. It's a musical that the students write, direct and perform. I oversee it and help them with things like budget, rehearsal space, scheduling, etc. there are two teams, one consisting of sophomores and juniors working together, and one consisting of seniors and freshmen working together. Both teams perform for 2 nights and we have faculty and alumni judges...this show is a competition! The kids have so much fun with it. It's an old NYC tradition, entitled "SING!". There was a movie made about it back in the late 1980s.

The cast list also went up today for the December musical, which is directed by one of our theater teachers. I help out for the musicals with hair and make-up so I'm looking forward to that. It's a lot of work but so much fun. It's something the don't pay me for, but I keep volunteering because it helps the kids so much and I really enjoy working with them outside the classroom and getting to know them more as individuals than only as students.

So, very busy as usual at work, but with good things. I'm completely exhausted because I still haven't completely adjusted to waking up at 5:00 every morning, but I'm getting there. I'm sure that tonight I will sleep like a baby! Unfortunately a few days ago my lower back was bothering me. I have arthritis in the lower back and have had times in the pays where my back was so bad I couldn't straighten up. So I did my physical therapy and it helped a lot. It's feeling fine now but I'm trying not to bend or twist. I always end up hurting it by doing everyday things around the house or a work, never when I work out which is because I'm aware of my form when exercising, but I guess we don't think about how we're moving while cleaning or reaching for something. I'll go back to some light cardio tomorrow.

I hope everyone had a good week, and wish everyone a great weekend! :goodvibes

Wow, iPhone 5S and a mustang convertible! That's a tall order along with Christmas presents! I really envy those who celebrate Christmas this year and have a month longer of shopping time than we have. Hanukkah starts the night before Thanksgiving this year...madness! I already did a lot of the shopping, so I'm feeling the financial strain extra early this year. It's coming earlier than it ever has in my life, literally. I suppose that on Black Friday while a lot of people will be Christmas shopping, there will also be people returning unwanted Hanukkah presents. :rotfl2: I like it much better when Hanukkah and Christmas coincide, and it makes it easier on our celebrations too. We have a very close family friend who my dad grew up with, and they live about an hour and a half away. Like an aunt and uncle to us. They come to my sister every year on Hanukkah, and we go to their house every year on Christmas. It's been a family tradition for many years that we share each other's holidays together, ever since I was a kid and they still lied in Brooklyn. Back then, we would go to their house over thanksgiving weekend to trim the Christmas tree and we also saw them on Hanukkah and Christmas. Now it's just Hanukkah and Christmas because of the long drive. This year however, my sister is pregnant and due January 21st...with a boy! So the trip is going to be too much for her. She is making Christmas dinner at her house and her in-laws are coming down from upstate where they live (about 5 hours away). Her husband is catholic and so of course he grew up celebrating Christmas. So this year we will be a their house. They had gotten married this past March and wanted to have a baby right away since my sister already has a 12-year-old and an almost 10-year-old from her first marriage. She has 2 girls so this will be her first boy, and this is his first baby! We're all so excited about a new baby in the family!! :goodvibes

Happy happy Friday!!!! That is fantastic how your sons classmates mom gave you a call over the ice cream concern :) sounds like you have a good school community over there & the teacher is doing her part. I know how proud you must be of your son, taking control of his allergy!
I used to be very active in the drama club when I was on school, but enjoyed the stage managing and lighting more than acting, which is funny because ds13 is into that as well. Sounds like you keep busy between school, drama, and of course home stuff.
Nothing worse than back pain, arghhhh! I hope you feel better soon. Some things unless you have gone through it personally you can't sympathize ~ after ds10 was born I developed a slipped disc, the horrid pain. Even walking up a stair was tragic. Thank goodness w/some light excersize and time it diminished.
Soooooo did you decide on V&A !?!????
Next week we have inventory and my boss wanted me to come in on Sunday, but sometimes you have to say no. My ds13 has developed some sort of attitude and I've noticed a change, therefore I can't afford to go to work 6 days a week anymore, priorities.
~~~ here's to everyone having a GREAT weekend!!! ~~~~
Congrats Midori woop wooop!!!!
My twins 13 1/2 both have flip phones... They HATE it. But, hey you can call, text and it's good for emergency. I have an iPhone4 and miss my basic LG (I like buttons!)
My boys are asking for an Xbox 360 lol - they are the only kids in America who don't have one I guess (never been one for electronics). We just had the car conversation and the deal is I pay half and they pay half, I still have 3 years and am def not rushing this.
My ds10 wants karate lessons for the holidays, so we will see. I'm not big on religious holidays but I will get each boy one or two things :)
Favorite holiday is def Thanksgiving ~ we all already discussed that....
Time really does fly ... To fast :(
Just wanted to share my excitement with those that would care. 32 days until our fall Disney trip! I can't wait! :cool1:
I have also been incorporating as much Disney into my science lessons as possible. The kids love the examples, especially the ones that have gone and can appreciate them and it gives me a reason to talk about Disney.
Let me live the excitement through you.... Give some details!!!! :)
We are staying at AKL. We love it there. We are part of the magic bands test for October so I got t choose my Fast pass+ a few weeks ago. Got to pick all the times we wanted and all work with our meals so happy about that.. We are going to MNSsHp on October 17. The kids are dressing up, but not sure about me or DH yet. I don't want to get hot. We are also going to Food and Wine the next day. Really happy to get to do both on this trip. We have gone in the fall the last three years and love the weather and crowd levels. We can't wait!
Oh my gosh! That's exciting. :) I think figuring out fast pass + would add to the excitement along with receiving the MB. I can imagine going a bit crazy having to figure all of the reservations out, but again adds to excitement and ultimately makes the vacation all the more relaxing I would guess. Can't wait to hear the details when you return. I can imagine dressing up for the Halloween to be hot and uncomfortable but sounds so fun. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy hearing all about this stuff.
