the new shuffle will only link to one iTunes library. migrate the other files to that computer, and you'll sync up.

OK, so it is different than the nanos then. Only one itunes library...hmmm...ok, we'll just swipe some of dd's songs from her itunes onto DH's itunes I guess. He just didn't necessarily want her songs...guess I'll create a playlist so he can keep them separate.

yes, and I still haven't figured out why just the new shuffle. we can send songs over the network between the Macbook and iMac and the Nanos and my old 20 gig iPod synch right up.

Well, and "copied" is being nice to all the other players. Copying has been attempted, none have succeeded. I mean heck, the Zune is buttons.

I bought myself a Nano this summer, and so far I've only used it at the gym. Someone told me that I should be able to just plug it in in my car - we have a 2006 Chrysler minivan. I think I need some sort of adapter, though. What exactly should I ask for when I go in to Best Buy or Target?

I got one that plugs into the cigarette lighter thingy. Horrid! Constant interference (songs from other stations taking over) and fuzzy white-noise. It was like listening to a radio station after you've driven too far for it to come in correctly, you know? It was made by some group called "Monster." Tried to take it back, because it didn't work, but the people at Circuit City said that that's just how it is, you get interference.

Don't let this happen to you!

I bought one that has an adapter that goes into the cassette deck. It's wired, which a lot of people don't like but it avoids the interference problem. I'm hoping that when I get a new car, it will have some kind of interface built in. That seems to be the new trend.

The shuffle is "new" as in we just got it but it's not the "new" matchbook sized shuffle. It's a refurbished older shuffle. Does the only one itunes library thing still apply?

Which one was it? We had one we returned pretty quickly because it was too limited in terms of which stations it could transmit on. We recently got an iTrip, and it works pretty well as it can be set to any station in the FM range. It works pretty well.

I will admit I find these devices odd, I mean why not broadcast stronger? If they did, then stations would not be able to interfere.

when it was refurbed, it probably got a firmware update. that way it works the same as the brand new shuffles.

I don't know. It was made by Monster and it sucked. I still have it in the car. Considering asking DH to take it back.

Why, oh why, do they not take things back for me, but do for him? If they would just take it back from me , then the little show he puts on (yelling and such) wouldn't have to take place.

And it really is a show, he really isn't mad. He just does it because that's what you have to do to get something returned. He's like, "OK, time for me to go scream at the Circuit City kids and act like a crazy person." He pretends to be insane, then they take the return. He thinks of it as a challenge and laughs about it. Something wrong with those stores.
