The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I'm also rooting for Luke and Lorelai. He is so sweet to her, and always has been. Christopher seems to come back to Lorelai when it is convenient for him.

I agree. If Lorelai and Luke don't end up together, I'm gonna be so disappointed -- it'll be like the whole series was a waste for me, because all along I've been waiting for them to get together.

I figure the producers know that, and eventually Luke and Lorelai will end up together. But they can't make it easy, 'cause then no one will watch.

I was Lorelai once, with a Luke and a Christopher (difference in that I didn't have a child with either one). When Luke built that rink for her, I felt so sad for him, because I know he isn't really going to have her until she cuts that emotional tie with Christopher.

MTE. I really wish they would have waited longer (yes, I realize they waited years ;) ) to finally put Luke and Lorelai together. It would have made for a wonderful final episode. But, to pull them apart now, it's gonna bug the crap outta me.

I also don't want her with Christopher. She's been on and off with him since she was a teen. If it was going to work out, it should have by now. Lorelai comes off as such strong woman, she needs to tell Christopher to back off!

I loved how Luke said to Lorelai - I know I am crabby about things - but i don't want you to be -

he just totally embraces her craziness and I don't think Chris does - I think she has a bad history with Chris - he doesn't stick with her through thick and thin - Luke would

I read this on Spoilerfix:

"The show is somewhat about wish fulfillment, and there's something about having the original biological family back together that plays along with that theme. And I think [Christopher and Lorelai] are compelling together. But I have no idea. I don't think they know. I think they're seeing what the story tells them."

I think it is Lauren Graham's quote - if they do this - I will feel like I wasted years on this show!!!!

I don't think the show is about wish fulfillment - I think it is living the best life you can that makes you happy - going against the system when you don't agree with the system - to me Chris is the system - what her parents want for her

Just bumping up for tomorrow.

Did anyone see Loralie in that Santa movie with Billy Bob Thorton, totally bad girl. What was she thinking :confused3

All I know is that if we have watched (and waited) all these years - seeing the chemistry and the flirting between Luke and Lorelai - and then they put her and Christopher together I am going to be mighty steamed!

Well, I was pretty happy with Emily and Richard last night, until the end when Em went to Christopher. Better to see her daughter with someone "respectable" (even when Emily doesn't even really like him) than someone she loves?? Sometimes I don't get Emily...I really like her then I really hate her. But I LOVED Richard at the valet station last night..."Now, GO AWAY!" My SO was cheering. :teeth:

Still have no love for Logan...my SO likes him, but he's just ticking me off. Take her to the damn dinner, already.

Mal - it's reminding me of Carrie and Big. We wait forever for Luke and Lorelai to get together and now this. I loved Emily and Richard too, until as you said, Em goes to see Christopher. Were there scenes for next week? I missed them. Hope you are feeling ok!

I am feeling good most of the time! Only complaint is this pesky indigestion! But other than that, good! She's moving right now as I type...which always makes me smile! :teeth:

Scenes for next week were Emily and Richard's vow renewal. The scene they keep showing with Christopher and Luke's argument happens next week, and Lorelai catches Rory and Logan kissing somewhere. That's all I remember.

I'm just curious...where in the world does Gilmore Girls start? What I mean is...I would *love* to watch to first season, but I don't know if it's worth buying. Since I just joined the "Gilmore Girl" bandwagon half-way through last season, I'm still a relative *newbie*. Has anyone out there watched GG from the get-go? What's the first season about...anything good?

Just wonderin'...IVY

Ivy ~ I have the first season on DVD and just yesterday got the second season in the mail - it's so much fun to pop a disk in the DVD player and sit and watch these shows. There are 6 DVD's in a season and I am hopelessly addicted to this show! The first season was great and you really see Luke and Lorelai flirting a lot and building up to a relationship. :)

Is anyone watching the reruns on in the morning? I don't know what season it is but what happened to Jason? I saw how Lorelei said I couldn't be with someone who is sueing my dad and then that was it? Was there another episode or was that really it? I really liked him! l....I do like L and L 's relationship now but am just wondering if that was it with Jason.

Thanks
Lisa

I think that was basically it with Jason but if Mal or Stink are around they can answer better than I can :)

That was about it with Jason. There was another ep where he showed up at the opening of her inn and told Luke he was Lorelai's girlfriend. It almost derailed Luke's courtship, but Lorelai made it okay. Haven't seen Jason since. :teeth:

That's it with Jason. He appeared again in the last episode of last season, which was on last night at 5 and this morning at 11. I believe he might have been in the first episode of this season, but I can't say for sure.

After that, he hasn't been seen or heard from again.

Do you get ABC Family? They're re-starting the series from the beginning starting Monday.

I've been watching ever since ABC Family started airing it in the fall. I immediately was hooked. I've seen every episode they've aired (seasons 1-4). Monday, they go back to the Pilot & start over and I'm crushed. It's gonna suck not having a new (to me!) episode every day.

ETA - the pilot airs today at 5pm then Monday at 11am EST

Same goes for me! I actually started watching the last couple episodes of season 4 repeats last summer before season 5 started, which happened at the same time as the ABC Family ones started up. Both me and my boyfriend got totally hooked and have been watching every day (and twice every tuesday!) since. I'm so sad that the ABC Family episodes are over! It was the one thing I would make sure to watch every single day after I got home for work. I'll still record them and watch it all over, it's become my new favorite show!

Does anyone know the Watch with Kristen column on E! Online? It's the best for getting info (and spoilers) on all your favorite shows. This was in her most recent column: No real spoilers here :) Other Gilmore sightings in the media- there's an article in the new Entertainment Weekly talking with the head writer and a little blip about the 100th episode in the "What to Watch" section.

Gilmore Goodness: The best news from the Froggie bash was that all Gilmore Girls stars in attendance told me the show, currently in season five and about to celebrate that magical 100th episode this Tuesday, is all systems go for another season. "I'd say there's a damn good chance six is happening," Edward Herrmann (grandpa Gilmore) told me.

"That is the plan we've heard. As for whether it goes to the full seven--Lauren and Alexis have seven-year contracts--I suspect it will, if the ratings are anything like they are this season."

Now, you fans caught that, right? Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory) are committed to the series for two more seasons, so Alexis wanted to make something perfectly clear: "They always make it seem like the actors have something to do with that, with how long the show goes on, but they don't," she explained. "We have no control, ever. My So-Called Life did not end because Claire Danes didn't want to do it anymore. It ended for some other reason." Lauren also chimed in, thanking Alexis for that reference from "the late '80s" just before fessing up to the fact that she borrowed Alexis' So-Called DVD and still hasn't returned it! Check back for their adorable real-life interaction in an upcoming video clip.

So it seems, faithful tubers, we have little need to worry about the fate of Gilmore Girls for the time being. The actors are on board, the ratings are strong, and the consensus at the Television Critics Association Press Tour is that the show is better than ever. "We're having a great time, and I'm glad people are enjoying this season," Lauren said. "But can I ask why? Is it because so many people are making out?"

Um, er, nooo...But I will say there is a steamy, and shocking, such session in the upcoming 100th episode, which is well worth your time this Tuesday (the episode, not the canoodling). It focuses on the renewed vows of Richard and Emily, something that, according to Herrmann, should put a few fans' minds at ease. "I had no idea people would be so upset that we were separated. Little 12-year-olds in the grocery store, back where I live in Connecticut, were crying, 'Are you guys gonna get back together?' "

There also will be plenty o' drama with Luke, Lorelai and Christopher (Rory's dad) in the big 100th ep. "Yes, and a lot of it was caused by me," Kelly Bishop (grandma Gilmore) admitted, "which makes her really angry with me, and now I'm not in two episodes after that, so I said, 'She was really mad!' I don't know how we're going to make up."

Same goes for Luke and Lorelai. "It's tough for me with Christopher back," Scott Patterson said. "No matter how schmucky he behaves, you wanna give him that second chance, because he's Rory's biological father. I'm just a guy slinging coffee. I had a horoscope that she gave me in my wallet for a year, so what? I didn't aid her in spawning a child. But whatever happens, even if I don't win her in the end, I'm sure it'll still be a happy ending."
