The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

I was supposed to get the second season DVD for Christmas - but dh couldn't find it.

I thought it was pretty funny when I found out that my 29 yo nephew had requested the same gift this year! Gilmore Girls is his favorite show. I knew I helped raised that boy right!

By chance I started watching this show a few months ago in reruns on the family channel and I am hooked! I am trying to finish up the reruns then tune into the new season but I kinda peeked at the new ones and I am even more hooked. By the way 30 years old here. It seems to be a show that is watch more by older people. Only one more season to go and I will be all caught up. Thank goodness it's on twice a day!

I totally could've written this post! Only difference is I'm 33!

We don't have a WB network around here so our NBC affiliate shows it at like 2am or something. So, before TiVo, I never got to see it. As soon as we got TiVo, it was one of the first season passes I set up. Then, it came on ABC Family & I've seen every episode they've shown. It is just a great show!!

if you want to know who dies:

<table bgcolor = black><tr><td> it is Chris' dad and Lorelai goes to console him and neglects to tell Luke - that is why it will have a big effect on what is going on </td></tr></table>

So TOTALLY lame!!!!!

Gilmore Girls is on, I can't believe we waited so long, but very appropriate with Loralie dealing with snow, the way Boston got socked in the past week. Did I ever say I want to live in Stars Hallow. :bitelip:

So tempting to scroll over that blackness to see who dies....so tempting...can't look....don't look....

Well, what did everyone think? I liked it...but thought it was weird that none of the teasers they've been showing were actually in this ep.

Spoilers below if you haven't watched yet:

I wanted to smack Rory for the way she was acting to Christopher. I'm glad she felt the guilt later.

I was warming up to Christopher throughout the ep until Luke built Lorelai that ice rink. I don't think poor Luke stands a chance as long as Christopher is in the pic. I do like Christopher though. I think this may be the first time I'm not 100% sure about Luke/Lorelai.

Loralie was doing a lot of nonsense talking in this episode, so you know the turbelance is coming. What was with Rory telling her mom not to tell Luke about Christopher? It is so dumb, Luke would be the most understanding. Grrrr-it's like s soap opera, no one can stay in a happy relationship for more than 15 minutes.

I loved the sparkle between Loralie's parents, they really do have good chemistry. He should surprise her with her own puppy now, since Grandpa Gilmore found the stray dogs owner.

According to TV Guide, in an interview with Lauren Graham, she said that she thinks that it's more natural for Christopher and Lorelai to be together than Luke and Lorelai.....could this be where things are heading?!?!?!?

Also, I agree that it was great to have an episode be focused around Lorelai's parents. The two of them are great, and I'm looking forward to them rekindling their relationship.

Favorite line: Kirk walking in to Luke's shouting, "My girlfriend's a *****! My girlfriend's a *****!" <-----Hopefully, that's acceptable for the DIS, if not, feel free to erase (GG is, after all, in the 8:00 tv hour, so hopefully it's okay.

Other favorite line: Michel trying to pronounce "AWOL" - "er-WOL...er-WOL"

edited to add: After posting, I see that Kirk's word for calling his girlfriend a "lady of the evening" is improper. Although I must say that I am kind of giddy over the fact that I got bleeped out on the DIS. That's kinda funny to me.

 Ahhhh!

I was all set to record the new episode last night when I checked the schedule and found out we had college basketball on here instead!!!! We recently got a satelite dish and only having one of the local channels is NOT GOOD in this situation :confused3 ! At least it doesn't sound like I missed too much :) . Now if this happens next week, I may have to convince DH to go back to cable ;) .

Another great episode this past Tuesday. I used to love Christopher and always rooted for he and Lorelei to reunite but now he seems too needy to me. I like how Luke is so rough on the outside but then shows a really sweet and sensitive side once in a while. As usual, the writing on this show is just unbelievable. I think it is one of the best written shows on the air today. :)

we've only just finished series 2 over here! it's sucked me in though

I hope you don't mind if I jump in here....I "discovered" Gilmore Girls about 4 months ago and am watching the reruns trying to catch up with things...but I was disappointed to in the episode...it wasn't what they kept running the trailers with.

I don't really care for Christopher...when I saw the episode when Gigi was born I really realized how insensitive he was to Lorelei and what she endured having Rory....I also didn't blame Rory for having hard feelings against her dad...

I do love this show...
