If you go back to page 82 someone posted a brief recap!

My DH just emailed from work with some info. He listens to a program called "Fresh Air" on NPR (National Public Radio), and he said AS-P is supposed to be on today.

I don't know much about how the stations work, as I think the programs played (and maybe the times) vary from station to station. In Cincinnati anyway, it will be on from 12-1PM EST this afternoon, on 91.7FM (based at XU). If you can find NPR in your area, it might be worth listening to!

I will try and listen to see if there's anymore info on why she is leaving, what will happen etc.

Ok, I just listend to the program with AS-P. It was from last year, so no new info :sad2:

It was kind of interesting, though! She talked about her inspiration for Lorelai and Rory, and why the humor is always so quick and they are talking over each other, etc. She also talked about how the frequent references to pop culture came about in the scripts.

She spoke of her friend Helen, who is the inspiration for Lane -- whose life and personality sounds EXACTLY like Lane's, "much to Helen's chagrin" (according to AS-P)

They talked a bit about her relationship with her parents, and growing up in a show-biz family and how no, the inspiration for the show did NOT come from her relationship with her parents.

She had a few more things to say about writing for an hour-long show, her history with Rosanne and her husband's history with Family Guy, etc but the funniest part of the interview was this:

When she went to the stations to pitch TV show ideas, she had fully developed four possible ideas, all of which she was excited about. She finally got to her fourth, with NO interest from the listeners. She said she could tell they were completely bored, so she pretty much blurted out that her last idea was about a mother and daughter whose relationship was more like friends than parent-child. They loved it, and she left freaking out because she had NO idea where that came from and what the heck she was going to do with it.

So she went home hysterical to her DH, and he said 'let's go away and we can work on something'. So they went to a little inn in Connecticut.... and "threw something together" there :rolleyes1

:teeth:

Sorry there's nothing new, or about them leaving! :confused3

Christopher was in the hall saying good bye to Gigi in the hall as she left for school with the nanny. Lorelei opened her eyes and just had this stare that seemed to say "what was I thinking? What am I doing here?" but she didn't dare move.
After Christopher said good bye he just slipped back into bed and put his arm around Lorelei and it faded to black.

I personally like Christopher. He has plenty of faults but he seems to "get" Lorelei. Luke doesn't. At least not lately.

I thought the finale was OK. At least toward the end of the episode we started to see the old Lorelei again.

Help my DVR cute off with about 2 minutes to go. I saw her waking up at Christophers then what happened?

the camera never budges so you see lorelei's dead (or what have I done, depening on your point of view) stare the whole time, but in the background, you sort of see gigi who is blathering on asking who is that, and how when she is sick she doesn't like to wear her nightgown either, etc, etc. Christopher shuffles her off to the nanny, then closes the door, takes off his robe (he's in jammie bottoms) and crawls into bed under the covers and wraps his arm around Lorelei. Her stare doesn't seem to alter, much like the opening scene.

2 season finales in a row now Gilmore Girls goes over by 2 minutes.

The opening scene with Lorelai on Sookie's couch was clever! So real life too...I thought it was a great opener. The next 40 minutes, nothing much happens at all. What a slow-moving episode!

I did enjoy when Lorelai opened up to the psychologist...standing by the car wanting to say something but couldn't but finally did. (Maybe b/c i'm in grad school for counseling so i'm a bit partial... :thumbsup2 )

Rory's story -- snooze. Is it that sad that her man is going away to London?

How the heck are the writers going to clean up the story next year? Are they going to try to have it be that Lorelai and Christopher didn't sleep together, or do we think that it actually happened and she'll somehow have to convince Luke it was a mistake and won't happen again? I think I'm going to agree with pam66 that Chris totally gets Lorelai-- Luke doesn't know what's going on.

I don't think this was an epsiode that will make ASP & her hubby later go, "we went out with a bang." The troubadours story was obviously filler, but I did like a final cameo of Sam Phillips strumming her guitar. I love all the songs and (bababa's & lalala's) she's created for the show.

I liked the way the epsiode began and ended with Lorelai's blank stares while lying on the couch/bed.

More thoughts from others! I want to hear some opinions!

Could someone please explain the finale was. i totaly missed it

About time she came around! She even pointed out how she's been without opinions and not herself for the past weeks. And her statement of how Luke should fit April in their (L&L) life and not vice versa was perfectly put.

The last few minutes was the best part of the show. I did not like the part with the singers. :sunny: I did kinda like rory's hair.... :cool1:

Disappointment is the only word that comes to mind as far as the season finale goes. Instead of giving some kind of real resolution to the Luke/Lorelai "will they marry or not?" situation, they did the completely PREDICTABLE thing by having her run into the arms of Christopher who is still so obviously in love with her and now this will be dragged out into the next season. Oh joy. This whole season was like watching a train wreck. You just couldn't look away. With the exception of a few episodes, I've been really disappointed by everyone on the show. But I guess it's more the writing than anything else. What happened to Lorelai's backbone? And why couldn't Luke grow up and realize that if he's going to be in a relationship with her then she would have to be in April's life in some way or another? Eh, I'm really hoping next season will be better but I'm not holding my breath.

My tivo cut me off at the end :furious: I hate it when that happens.

All I know is I saw Lorelai in Chris' bed and he took off his robe and crawled in with her then......."ding...delete now?" :furious: So was anything said between them when he got in bed with her? Was there another scene?

I really liked the storyline with the singers. It reminded me of the "old" Gilmore Girls shows. One of my favorite shows from a few seasons ago had the two trubadours (?) fighting over the Stars Hollow territory.

I am not sure what to think about the show tonight-still processing

-Like the trubadors (sp), little Sonic Youth, Sam Phillips Yo la Tengo (I think) and the songs were funny.
-Rory she actually cried well tonight and I do understand her being sad...When DH and I were dating he went to training for 3 weeks and I surprised myself by crying also a year would mess me up
-Lorelei I am glad she spoke up and peeved at Luke for being so wishy washy...he did shut her out and she kept quiet for a long time
-I bet she did not sleep with Chris though (and I DO like ther chemistry)
