The Official Gilmore Girls Thread

Warning. The following is just my opinion.....

Wow, A & D SP drove every story line in this show into the ground at the end of the season. Seems like they just tried to do everything they wanted to do in the next 1.5 seasons in a couple of lonely episodes just to make sure it happened. It feels like they rushed everything and didn't develop the stories enough (except for all the troubador scenes in the last episode, overkill). Lane and Zach got married in an awful hurry and I, for one, would have liked to have seen the aftermath of Lane's many weddings. And I really like Paris, they should have showed some more of the "auxiliary chacters" in the past few episodes. And the Rory/Logan story wasn't left at much of a cliff hanger. They should have showed him more undecided about going/not going to London or something. Oh, and throwing Lorelai into bed with Christopher, I'm pretty sure they had no intention of Luke and Lorelai ever getting married! It just felt like they were trying to push the show in the direction they wanted it to go. If they wanted to have input in how the show ended they should have stuck around for season 7. I'm pretty sure the show is ruined anyway because of this whole April thing but maybe there is some hope with this new writer. Hopefully he'll turn it around and make a great final season with more Rory/Lorelai interaction.

The preceeding was "just my opinion."

Oh, and I was :lmao: at you with that "blessings" statement, Mal.

Seriously...I was  and then, well, we have no "sighed wistfully" smilie to use... :rotfl:

I LOVE Lorelai and Christopher together, and I hope that they end this show with them married and having another baby. Actually, I agree with the previous poster who said that Lorelai is going to end up pregnant by Christopher again. I don't like Lorelai with Luke...I never have. She is so connected to Christopher...not so much to Luke. Luke has been a JERK since the whole April thing, too. Good riddance!!!

Okay, NOW...my prediction for next season...ready?

Lorelai discovers she is pregnant. Foreshadowed by the talk in the car when she says she wants another kid. Discuss...

I wouldn't be surprised by this at all. Annoyed, but definitely not surprised. I agree with Mickey's Mommy. I like Christopher alright, I just don't like him with Lorelai. At all. But hey, who could blame her for going to him? Luke has done nothing but push her away since he found out about April. I'm glad the amazing, disappearing backbone finally made an apperance at the end there. But I guess only next season will tell what's going to happen with all our favorite and not-so-favorite Stars Hollow citizens. And now that ASP and DP have left...who knows what's gonna happen.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. I honestly do like Logan. I always have from the beginning. I think he's good for Rory, I just hate his family. And I had a teeny, tiny lump in my throat when Logan and Rory said their goodbye's at the apartment  But hey, what a deal. She gets the apartment, already paid for, for the next year. Sounds good to me! And plus, I just think Logan is reallyyyyyy nice to look at ;)

I could not agree with you more!!! My feelings exactly! Alas, I think we're in for disappointment... I'm sure L+L will end up together in the series finale because that's what the show has been leading up to since the pilot episode. Boo, I hope Christopher at least stays around for a while next season... I love the banter between him and Lorelai.

Well, I have mixed feelings. I kinda thought I knew what would happen so I wasn't surprised by the end and I was able to prepare myself. I do like Christopher and I think that he and Lor are great friends, but I have trouble with them as a couple. He is almost her back-up. Didn't she do this when she was dating someone else too?

As for Luke, he is just a stinker (I'm thinking worse names, just won't type them :teeth: ). I would still like to see him and Lor together but I don't know how it would happen now.

I really like Logan and I know he'll be back so I wasn't too upset when he left. I think it will be good for him. I thought the whole party thing was cute too.

So, I was very frustrated by the season finale, but I will definately be watching in the fall. :thumbsup2

I can't believe that I have never seen this thread sooner. My DH and I LOVE the Gilmore Girls. I think that we have watched almost every episode since the beginning. :thumbsup2

I was soooooooo mad that Lorelai went running to Christopher. The last few episodes I was yelling at both her and Luke. I mean come on Lorelai you are adult, just tell him how you feel. And Luke don't even get me started on that, sure you have a daughter but you also have a fiancee who needs you and who should have gotten a chance toget to know April. :confused3

I think that Logan and Rory are really cute though. I hope that we see Logan for a couple of episodes next season! :woohoo:

No one commented on all the street performers. Funny scenes.

When Loralie was begging Luke to go an elope, that was the kind of chemistry those two had-they would yell and scream and banter with each other. To bad Luke missed the boat. Miss Patti did tell Loralie not to give up on Luke-she should have told him to meet her at the church the next day, that would of been more of a cliff hanger than running to Christopher's house.

That would have been great!
The Cliff Hanger:
Lor does the whole screaming scene and then makes a 'sleep on it' ultimatum like:
"I will be at the church tomorrow at 11:00 with the judge, if you're not there, that's it, we're through for good. I won't wait any longer and I won't ask again". Then making us wait all summer to find out if he would show!

I loved the screaming scene. It was so "Loreli". As for Luke... well, remember that he "decided" to court Lor after listening to some self-help tapes -- I think he needed to go back and listen to them again about 2 months ago!! It's like his lack of real relationship skills came back to the surface big time with the appearance of April. Which really is pretty good writing if you look at it that way. I mean who really makes a permanant life change from one trip through a self- help series. IF ONLY it was that easy!! Luke was always the "kind of self absorbed but sweet, grumpy guy" and alot of that went away for awhile when they were doing well.

I like Chris & Lor together, but I don't like them together if she's 'settling'. If they developed it right it could really work, but only if she realized she was really "looking for him" in all the other guys she almost married and now that he finally "grew up" it would work fine and they could be rich in thier own way and not 'annoying rich' like mom & dad. :teeth:

As for Rory/Logan. I think he grew up abit because of the accident and realized what a great catch he has in Rory. I was pretty surprised that Rory would:
A: squeeze in drinks at the grandparents on the day Logan graduated...
B: squeeze in drinks at the grandparents on the day before Logan left town for a year
C: tell Lor she was leaving early to spend the night alone with Logan when she was throwing a party
D: would throw a party when she knew Logan wanted to be alone with her on his last night before being gone for a year!

The Biggest surprise of all though was that they talked about seeing each other at Thanksgiving and Christmas ?:confused3 ? when, she has been to Europe the last two summers (or at least 2 of the last 3) and he is so rich he could fly her over every weekend if he wanted to, and she has no obvious plans for the summer so why didn't she just go over for the whole summer???? It didn't seem logical that that option didn't even come up.

It would have been so cool if:
The Cliff Hanger:
She takes Logan to the airport... as he's about to get on he stops (does that thing where he thinks about what he's going to say like he's not sure but then he does anyway) and says "come with me" (his face lights up like it does when he has an idea that he really likes). "Come with me! It's perfect!"
She says "I can't" "I can't, I have to help my mom not get married to Luke and go to grams for dinner every friday and put out the last edition of the paper and use your apt all year" He says "Please come" and they cut to her tormented face undecided. Now that would be a cliff hanger!!

By the way... I know I'm new here, usually I just read, although I think I've posted a few times. I so appreciate you guys! Sometimes you just have to download this stuff, my DH barely tolerates me talking about TV at all & when I get into "what if this and what if that", I get the "look". :rolleyes1
So thanks for letting me get it out... now I will be impatiently waiting for the fall when my two favorite girls come back -- hopefully not too changed by the new writers!

I thought of this too, but then remembered she has a job too...she works for that newspaper that she interned at.

BTW, hi, Rella Bella and welcome!

Ok, I watched it again last night and got mad at Lorelai all over again. I think what ticked me off so much was that she told Lynnie that Luke was the only one she'd ever really loved. That he was a real man--strong and able to protect her but "he gets me." So, I really got upset that she ran to Christopher after all that.

Refresh my memory when she ran to Chris before...maybe it's just a voluntary mental block (:teeth: ) but the only times I remember were in the 2nd season when they did it on the patio after his parents visited and the time at the Inn right before Sookie's wedding. I don't think she was with someone else either time, was she?

They did it outside on the balcony of her bedroom...I don't mean just that though. She called him from her bachelorette party when she was going to marry Max. Maybe this is all leading up to that pairing but then why from the pilot episode till now have they been gearing us for Luke & Lorelai?

That's what I meant when I said patio...I don't know...you all know I'm a traitor and I like Chris. ;) Luke, well...Luke has always had his head up his ***...he just briefly withdrew it at the end of season 4 with the self-help tapes. But he's back where he used to be now. Worse, even.

I'm sorry Mal. After I wrote that and then I thought about it, I thought you and I were talking about the same thing.

You are a traitor! :rotfl2: But, I really like Chris, just not with Lorelai.

We'll see. Next season can't possibly be the train wreck this season was can it?

That's a good point! Someone else (or maybe you, earlier :rotfl: ) mentioned that maybe she's been comparing all previous relationships, etc and still coming back to Christopher. If they play that angle up, it would make perfect sense for them to end up together!

Plus, I am also a traitor, and would love to see Lor and Chris over Luke! :rolleyes1

But then why did they have her in the car saying that she actually loved Luke and that he was a strong man and he got her, blah, blah, blah. Hopefully the new writer can make more sense of it that us.

Remember the season they decided to get married?? He had just left GiGi's mom, he was sure it wouldn't work. Chris & Lor were both ready to commit and very happy. Rory was thrilled!

Then he found out GiGi was on the way and he told Lor he had to go back, that he couldn't not be a part of his childs life again!

I like Luke, but I kinda think Chis & Lor are 'star crossed lovers'. Meant to be together but things just don't ever work out for them.
