The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

^^^ I don't know about the code.. but when I called today the CM didn't even ask me for a code. Just wanted to verify the card # was a disney visa and I had to pay the deposit w/the disney visa. :)

I do have a question for you Disney Visa ppl though... !!! The CM I spoke with told me (I think) that the rest of the vacation must be paid with the Disney Visa... ??? Was anyone else told this?? Just wanted to know, cuz that means I need to pay off my visa ASAP! ha ha

I also did not have to give the code, only my DV information. I was told that it only had to be the deposit, especially since I had already put half down as a deposit on my bank card and they just took another $200.00 on the DV.

i AM SO HAPPY WE GOT IN BUT HAD TO CHANGE OUR ARRIVAL DATE TO THE 26TH VERSUS THE 23RD ORGINAL, BUT HEY i'LL CHANGE FOR 700 DOLLARS

I had to call back today cause the CM never mentioned the Magical Express, and came to find out he didnt include it, but a very nice CM added it for me on both my Ressie (arriving 8/25 for one night room only, and then 8/26-9/3 w/Free Dining at Pop).. Glad I caught that

I thought that to, but called. the way the CM made it sound that it seems like the ME isnt going to be free forever and that if I didnt book it while it wsa free, that if its something theymight start charging for (which honestly i see happening), that I should atleast note it in the reservation that I wanted it for free... just fyi...

I finally got thru to make my reservation this morning. It took 1.5 hrs on hold but I got exactly what I want. Then I called and got all my ADRs too. What agreat day. Staying at POR 8-27 to 9-2. :)

Call back and ask for an ADR at Grand Floridian Cafe. 1900 PF is being refurbed until early October and the character meals are being held at GFC. Some CMs know about it and automatically check availability in the right place, others don't. I had the same problem when I made ADRs last week.

Thanks for the information! I'll definitely do that!

Wow, I just got home from work and started catching up on all the posts I missed today (DisBoards is web-blocked at work, can you believe that????). Anyway, I can't believe people had to wait close to 2 hours, it just shows how random it is, I called at 7:00am, was on hold for 10 minutes and was done by 7:22am. However, I was modifying an existing reservation and was hoping Disney would take the entire 4 nights worth of dining off. Since I already had a discounted package, they took off the difference, bringing the total discounts to $400 (free dining for 2 adults/ 2 children). I'm a little bummed because I was being greeding and hoping for even more of a discount! Always looking for a better deal!

Tell me what you think: 4 nights, WL woodsview, 1 day base ticket and dining for 2 adults/ 2 children for a total of $1,346.60.

I also have a room only @ Pop (AAA rate) then a 5 night Pop package that includes dining (not free, as the dates are before the promotion) totaling $1774. I think I got good deals but I also think my brain is fried.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one on the phones at 6:59am today!!!

Well I know I'll be on the phone at 7am EST Thursday morning - that's 4am here UGH! But I don't have to work on Thursday, so if I'm dead tired that night, I can just sleep LOL.

Does anybody know if the online quote from WDW's website automatically includes free dining or do you have to call to have it applied?

Well, I'm a little upset. I was working today, so my mom called to get us the free dining. We had already booked rooms at WL. The CM told her the only rooms available there with free dining would cost us a significant amount more than we were paying, and after talking with him for 45 minutes he changed our room to the Polynesian. However, the room cost at the Polynesian is way more than we were going to be paying. So our "free dining" isn't really free, as our stay at the Polynesian will cost more than the dining package itself. The only way we can get it is to go to a moderate resort, and I was really looking forward to WL. I have tomorrow off, so it looks like I"ll be calling and cancelling our free dining to get us back into WL. :guilty:

hi guys i'm new   <--- that about sums up my mood. last week we booked boardwalk villas for a week in september. ever since, every single time i call, it has been nothing but frustration. incorrect flight prices given, incorrect phone number on our reservation (and each time the CM says they have fixed it) so they won't verify that it is in fact me on the line with them because i am giving a mismatching number, the CM telling me my reservation is "corrupt" so she has to rebook it, but fails to check the price and we get an invoice for 400 dollars more than what the original reservation was... i need a vacation from planning this one...

anyway i heard about the free dining last week and applied for disney visa... they said they'd rush it to me so it should have been here by today... of course, it wasn't... i was on the phone w/disney at 7 am this morning exactly and they couldn't apply the free dining without a cc number. i was nervous as heck. so i called back, talked to this very nice man who ASSURED me that i shouldn't take a nervous pill over it. he told me that i could call back tomorrow, wed, thurs, fri and they'd be able to apply the promo. that it was just a promo code and as long as my room was booked i was fine. well my mom called and got a different story, that all boardwalk promos were used up. so i had to call in about the incorrect invoice, talked to someone else who told me the same thing that other guy told me until i took his name and asked him "are you SURE?" for the fifth time. he went to a supe and whaddaya know? told me that it was limited and i had to call as soon as i got my card in and that he couldn't check if boardwalk villas were available for the promo.

i want to scream! now i am just frustrated over getting all these different answers/getting my hopes up when i knew i was right in the first place.

blah. i'm just hoping that thursday maybe they will open up a couple more. and here we were going in september thinking it was going to be less crowded.

I am confused! Called this morning to book 2 packages, one for us, one for my parents. Our rate is 1066.99 for 8 nights at Pop and 2 adult/1 child base ticket. Their rate is 635.56 for 4 nights and 2 adult base tickets.

If I take the price of the base tickets out at $67 for adult and 56 for child, then our package comes to $876.99 which comes out to 109.62 a night.

My parents comes to $501.56 which is $125.39 a night. Something must be wrong? Do you guys agree?

Rack room rates with no discount show $82 a night on mousesavers and that is what the reservation lady told me, so it seems we are overpaying. I know there is tax, but that would be 34% tax on my moms reservation! I know that cannot be true.

There is to be no insurance or anything added in. I just want to make sure I am not losing it before I sit on hold for hours again!
