The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

Well, I'm a little upset. I was working today, so my mom called to get us the free dining. We had already booked rooms at WL. The CM told her the only rooms available there with free dining would cost us a significant amount more than we were paying, and after talking with him for 45 minutes he changed our room to the Polynesian. However, the room cost at the Polynesian is way more than we were going to be paying. So our "free dining" isn't really free, as our stay at the Polynesian will cost more than the dining package itself. The only way we can get it is to go to a moderate resort, and I was really looking forward to WL. I have tomorrow off, so it looks like I"ll be calling and cancelling our free dining to get us back into WL. :guilty:

What type of room did you have at the WL? What time did your mom call? Did you already cancel your WL reservation?

Well we are all booked now! WOOHOO!

We will be at POR from Sept 9-17th with free dining. I am so excited.

All my adr's are made too.

I called about 8:30am and was on hold for about 10 mins but I had bo problem getting everything taken care of when the cm came on.

We did not think we would get to do Disney again this year so I am over the moon about this trip! 3 years in a row! I am never going to be able to miss a year now..lol This is habbit forming..haha

Anyone get an email from Chase yet? I got one at 4:52cst So is this code only good for the 3 days then you'll have to use the new one for the general public? This also leads me to believe more rooms will be added on Thurs since it's a different offer???

Here is what it said:

I am confused! Called this morning to book 2 packages, one for us, one for my parents. Our rate is 1066.99 for 8 nights at Pop and 2 adult/1 child base ticket. Their rate is 635.56 for 4 nights and 2 adult base tickets.

If I take the price of the base tickets out at $67 for adult and 56 for child, then our package comes to $876.99 which comes out to 109.62 a night.

My parents comes to $501.56 which is $125.39 a night. Something must be wrong? Do you guys agree?

Rack room rates with no discount show $82 a night on mousesavers and that is what the reservation lady told me, so it seems we are overpaying. I know there is tax, but that would be 34% tax on my moms reservation! I know that cannot be true.

There is to be no insurance or anything added in. I just want to make sure I am not losing it before I sit on hold for hours again!
It would be $71 per adult ticket and $60 per child ticket after tax. Pop is about $92 per night after tax. Preferred rooms are closer to $106 per night after tax. Could she be booked in preferred? Actually, your rate comes out to pretty close to preferred pricing. Did they add insurance to either reservation?

You guys are to quick...I was just going to come over an post the e-mail notice I recieved from Disney Visa today...but I see some one beat me to it;)

I will say...Mine was found in my "junk mail' box:confused3

Is it possible that you have a preferred room booked? The $82/night is for a standard room.

I am in the same boat. Have my free dining already booked, but have gotten nothing from Chase about the offer. :sad2:

I also have not received the email regarding free dining, but I did get one about double reward points when you purchase gas on your DV. So I know they have my email! It doesn't matter, I'm already booked.:)

I see that the details of the email from Chase state that tickets are for "One Park Per Day" i.e. no park hopper, water park and more options, etc. Has anyone booked and been able to add ticket upgrades to your package now? Or will we have to upgrade tickets when we get to WDW?
I can't book till Thursday... SIGH... sure hope there's some rooms left... SIGH.

Chase has my e-mail as well and I get no e-mails from them ever, where did you see the reference to doublt reward pts for buying gas???

I have the free dining, but I still haven't gotten the email!

I did get the email this time, but last year when this offer was released I did not get the email ... go figure ... if I waited until the email was received I would have NEVER gotten the dates and place I wanted... I was on hold for almost 2 hours today at 7 am.... but I did get POP 8-27 to 9-3 with DDP So it was well worth the wait:cheer2:

I got an email this afternoon, by linking from the email, when you purchase over $100 in gas, you get double disney reward dollars during April, May and June. Since my husband has a 65 mile each way commute, we will definitely start charging gas to the Disney Visa!

We purchased the water parks and more options with this package today.

Yes, mine was also in my junkmail box. And ???? I didn't see anything about gas in that email??

Oh, I also called yesterday and asked them to add my email to my account to be sure they had it. I thought they did, but he said none was on the account? So that's probably why I got it today.

My girlfriend (she should really be a WDW travel agent), booked our girls only trip to WDW for September and of course we are getting FREE DINING!!! How can you pass that up?!? What a deal! Just wanted to share my thanks to WDW and my "travel agent" :goodvibes

Look out disney.... HERE WE COME!!! Yippee!!!

since you booked with aaa were you able to get the aaa rates along with the free dinning? I booked with aaa as well.....but haven't calculated it yet. We have a family of four... 2 adults and 2 kids (14 and 9)....so our oldest is charged the adult rates. We're staying at POP in the prefered area and got 2 day base tickets. Our total was 968.37. I know before our base tickets were $140.58 per adult and $117.15 for our youngest if that hasn't changed our. Hmmmm just did the figures and it looks like our room is 107.37 per night. Sounds right...with out the AAA prices.
