The Official Free Dining Watch 2007 Thread

I know that, people make ADR offsite.
I think she was giving me a hint that the free dinning would be out during my dates! Since I booked Hoop Doo, and had to use my credit card to hold the ressie, I do have to call back when I get on the dinning plan.
Ah okay, sorry. I thought she was saying that you must let her know your resort choice. ;)
 
Also a note to those who never used free dinning before:
We are staying until Sept. 3rd, but what you want to remember is that your free ddp will only be good for the nights you are sleeping at your Disney resort. So the day you are leaving:guilty:,unless you did not use up all your credits you have to pay to eat. LOL:eek:

Sorry, but that is wrong...DDP allows you to use your dining credits up until midnight of your checkout date. So if you leave on 9/3, you can use credits up until midnight on 9/3.

And, please calm down everyone, they would not be putting this promotion out if they hardly had any rooms available for the dates. You may not get your first choice of resort, but if you call next week, there will be availability at all price points. (Disney marketing - "We need to spend $100,000 on marketing so we can get people into those 12 empty rooms we have at CSR on 9/15." NOT) They only give this promotion because there are empty roooms.

Of course, I will be late for work on Monday because I'll be on the phone.

OK, well what I have is: 7days/6nights at POP, with a MYW with the DDP (paid for). We have 5 day park hoppers. So do you think I should just be able to call and apply the code to this existing reservation? It would make this much easier and I'll be able to breathe and not go crazy by next Thursday.



I just called to make my reservation at the POP for 8/26-8/31. The CM was so sweet! When I asked about applying future codes that maye come out she said,"Absolutely. That is not a problem as long as it is any time before 45days prior to the trip."
 
I called this morning to ask a question about my reservation, we are going September 8 - 15, and already have the dining plan. The operator I spoke with told me that they had received a bullitin on the free dining and that they didn't have the codes yet, but to keep trying the first of the week to apply the code that she couldn't do it yet.:hourglass

I think she was just meaning that the credits are attached to how many nights you are staying (4 nights would be 4 credits each of snack, CS, and TS), but still indicated you COULD use them the day you are leaving if they weren't all used up.
 
Ok, here's my next question.....we've booked our packages with a discount code. Will we lose the code if we add free dining? I'm looking for any way to save money on this 10 night trip!

Yes, that's how I took it but it was maybe a little confusing.

It's a good point to make though. If you're staying 7 days/6 nights, you'll get 6 of each credit per person not 7. That could be an issue for someone arriving early and departing late. They would need to plan accordingly. :)
 
Let me get this right.....if you have a Disney Visa card, the rumor is we can start calling Monday morning to get/add free dining. If you don't have a Disney Visa, you have to wait 3 days after that? Am I right?
 
According to the Visa lady this morning, it is going to run the dates that have been rumored on here....8/26-9/22.

I just called Disney Visa, and he confirmed that you can book packages starting April 9 for travel 8/26 through 9/22. He said 5 night/6 days (only) but I'm sure that's not the case. He also said there was "no code", so we all know better than that. ;)

I don't know about the 12th, but it sounds like its a go for Disney Visa ppl on MONDAY! :thumbsup2
 
I'm off to email my TA again to tell him the new code and ask if he'll be able to get it applied on Monday. He's going to think I lost my mind. LOL
 
What do you do if you are already booked and your deposit is already down? Our Visa, though not Disney is chase but our deposit was on a debit card. We were told to roll our balance (zero) on to a Disney Visa. Any suggestions for Monday since our deposit is paid and we want to pay cash/debit card for the rest of the trip but have changed our chase to a Disney Chase? What number do you dial when you call Disney Visa? I assume it is the same as our soon-to-be old chase number but want to make sure.

I heard back from my AAA TA & she said they hadn't heard anything, but she'll check on Monday what she can do. I also gave her the code. They may think we've lost our minds, but we'll be in Disney with Free Dining, so I don't care!! :banana: :cool1: :rotfl2: :lmao:
 
I just got off the phone with CRO. I had a great CM who walked me through exactly how to do this. He said he knew nothing with that ;) tone of voice. I already had a room only and ticket for my friend booked and paid. He cancelled that, refunded everything. Then booked a package and took the $200 deposit and told me to call back when a the promo was officially launched and they'd just apply the code and I could pay in full then. Much easier and I'd not lose my room. So if you've got a booked room only CALL NOW and do this!!!!
