*The OFFICIAL February 2012 Thread!*

My family stayed at the POP this past December and loved it! It has such a fun atmosphere, and the Everything Pop quick service has some great food choices. :thumbsup2

We've never stayed at any of the All Stars, but from what I hear they are nice as well. The only downside I've heard is that the 3 All Stars share one bus system, while the POP operates on its own, which makes it a little more efficient.

Do you have any exact dates yet?

They only time we shared a bus was in the morning otherwise we had our own bus. But that is defintely something to keep in mind.

My only thoughts are as big as POP is I don't want to have to walk 15 minutes to get to the buses. The mornings wouldn't be so bad, but when we get back from the parks I would love to have my room in the lobby:rotfl::rotfl::lmao:.

Our dates are going to be Valentines week. Seems like Florida has nice weather that week.

One more quick question when can we make reservations for rooms, I noticed on one post she had made her reservations. When I try it tells me they are only booking until Dec.

We really lucked out when we stayed there, we were at the very tip of the 80's building, a 30 second walk away from the buses! (Even though it was Christmas week!)
When we checked in we requested a room as close as possible to the buses, and they were able to grant it!

Online booking for 2012 won't be available until this August, but you can make room reservations over the phone right now!

Feb. 18th to the 24th at AKV!!!!:woohoo:

I was able to reserve 3 value rooms as we are sharing our points with our niece (and her mother) who will be graduating in June and then my other SIL and her family!

Can't wait!!!:dance3:

Thanks! It seems like you go during February break a lot. Do you live in the northeast? We're near Boston so we always have the week of President's day off. I've been to the parks once during that week and, while crowded, I felt it was manageable. The weather can go either way though, can't it? When we were there two years ago we could swim but I always felt a little chilly and only went in the pool to keep the kids happy.

As for resorts - I've heard good things about all of them. SSR is not my top choice simply b/c I don't think the kids will be all that jazzed up about a horse racing theme. Boardwalk, Beach, or Animals will make much more of an impression on them. We'll see what we end up with. I am completely OK with staying at SSR though, and I'm sort of planning on that just so I don't feel disappointed if nothing else comes through.

How fast does OKW book up through the DVC?

MinMinn::MinnieMo::MinnieMo

I don't think OKW books up all that fast so you should be ok if you want it. It is a big resort so that means lots of rooms available. We are staying at AKV that week too. It also will depend on the rooms view. Boardwalk has preferred/boardwalk view and standard view. Standard view is less points so it books up faster.

You can always go on a waitlist to see if you can get in the resort you want. I hear you on the SSR theme....my boys wouldn't like it too much. Our family are members there and when we decided to buy this Jan, we went with AKV b/c it is more our style:love:

Good afternoon everybody what a beautiful day here the sun is shining and it's 45 degrees (it's a tropical heatwave). I am contemplating not bring a stroller next year DD will be 5 3/4 and DS will be 5. Just can't imagine pushing them around all day. So what are your toughts on it and if you don't bring a stroller but have little/medium ones what do you use to carry everything (water bottles, snacks all the necessities)?

Also thinking of doing the deluxe meal plan any thoughts on it? My thinking is it is nice to get into the parks before they open for breakfast but I also enjoy a nice sit down meal later in the day.

Hello!!

Our October trip fell through, both DH and I had cut hours at work, boo! (still have a job, thank goodness)

So now we are starting to plot out a Febuary trip. Our tentative days are 2/12 through 2/20, POFQ.

Once again it will just be DH and I, as our son has decided that he is to old for WDW, at 18. DH befriended a CM the last two trips, and when we go out in Feb, their plan is to do a day of bass fishing. I am thinking that might be a good day to hit the spa.

I am just waiting for August so we can book the trip.

I cant wait to go home again.

Welcome! You've been added :)

We will be going down as a family sometime around 2/4 which will be my daughters 10th bday ! Yikes, I'm getting OLD lol. Saving up now because we will be staying at The Contemporary!!! I totally fell in love with it there our last visit and with little ones the monorail is just SO much easier than the bus system. We just got back from a great visit 10 days ago and I can't take it, I must go back for more ;) My Sister and I are going down in October for a grown up visit, possibly taking my baby but no KIDS and NO DH's  (but whats the difference, right?!)

Anyways!! Very excited to be joining you all!

Please add us to the list we'll be heading down from 2/16 to 2/26.:yay: Booked our flights but have yet to decide our resort. We will be spending the first few days off site at KSC and and a day or so at Universal and then heading to Disney probably on Monday. We always have gone over the Feb break and I have never found it overly crowded. I guess we use the toruing plans and go back to the room/cabin(stayed at FW several times because my parents were there in their motohome) in the middle of the day if a long night is planned so it never seemed so bad. I'm excited to see that there are so many like me crazy about planning a trip so far in advance. :cool1:

Count Us In!!! We will be there 2/4-2/11 for my Mom's 65th Bday on 2/8 and my son's 2nd Bday on 2/9 :) We are booked right now at BLT but possibly switching to BCV or AKV at the 7 month window. Anyone have any thoughts? We would either do a one bedroom at AKV and spend more points or do 8 nights in a studio at BCV for our actual points budget. We have stayed at AKL before and really like it, but like the ability to get to Epcot whenever we want! We did the Contemporary in December so BLT is a maybe....

Hi WDWISLIFE. I am so sorry to do this to you again but we are changing our resort for the last time, I promise. ;) We have decided to stay at CSR. Yes, I know that was our first choice but I second guessed my decision and thought we'd stay at POFQ again. Well after several weeks of looking into CSR we've decided to give it a try. So it is done, CSR here we come. No more wavering. Has anyone else changed their resort multiple times or am I the only looney one? :lmao:

No problem! :) you've been updated!

I am now working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and around 4-8 on Sunday. About 80 hours per week, to start saving up for our Trip. So far I have done three weeks like this.

Looks like things are going smoothly here! We just discovered that we could use our rci week to stay at a resort on site (any of the DVC resorts). We know it's difficult to book, so does anyone think we still have a chance at any of them? (beach club and akv being our top choices?) I hope it works out seeing as we would then be able to utilize the dining plan! Have a magical day!
