You're added! :thumbsup2

Eek! Thank you for adding our names to the OFFICIAL list! It's so exciting! Less than a year to go now... and we all know how fast time goes by!:cool1:

I am so excited I can't stand it. We are going to WDW 2/16 - 2/23 (or 24 or 25 depending if I can get enough points together). I don't know where we're staying yet but next week I'll be booking SSR so I guess you can put us down for that. It's me, DH, DD(will be 12), DS(will be 8), DD (will be 4). My parents are CM's and it's actually their DVC we're using.

I've only been to WDW twice before as an adult: once in 2006 over spring break week which was also Easter Week. Never again! It was so hot and crowded! We only stayed 4 nights at All Star and the trip, while fun, was way too short and way too hectic.

Two years ago I had a last minute chance to book a trip for February break (President's week) but we could only get airfaire for a 5-night trip which included getting in really late the first night and leaving impossibly early the last day. We effectively had 4 days in the parks. It was fun but kinda crowded. I was beside myself that we couldn't get on to TSM. I guess that is why we have to go back next year:-)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

My user name is MinMinn because my little girl is obsessed with Minnie and has her in all different sizes. The tiny one is affectionately referred to "MinMinn". :lmao:

What I mean is that we're going to try to stay at Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom, possibly even Beach Club. But I have to wait until July to see about availability. If nothing is available then we'll stick with Saratoga.

Any thoughts on this?!

Welcome! Our dates are quite similar.

Hmm, availability could be an issue for President's week, but there's definitely no harm in checking once the time comes!
Of those resorts I've only ever stayed at the Boardwalk, which was lovely with great atmosphere! I hear amazing things about all of those resorts though. :goodvibes

Thanks! It seems like you go during February break a lot. Do you live in the northeast? We're near Boston so we always have the week of President's day off. I've been to the parks once during that week and, while crowded, I felt it was manageable. The weather can go either way though, can't it? When we were there two years ago we could swim but I always felt a little chilly and only went in the pool to keep the kids happy.

As for resorts - I've heard good things about all of them. SSR is not my top choice simply b/c I don't think the kids will be all that jazzed up about a horse racing theme. Boardwalk, Beach, or Animals will make much more of an impression on them. We'll see what we end up with. I am completely OK with staying at SSR though, and I'm sort of planning on that just so I don't feel disappointed if nothing else comes through.

How fast does OKW book up through the DVC?

Yep! We're in the NYC suburbs. :)
This will be our 7th President's week in WDW! :cool1: We've always thought that crowds were no problem as long as we had a good plan of attack with rope drop/FPs, etc.
I hope we get some good weather! It definitely can be pretty iffy. From what I've heard President's week this year was pretty warm, so I hope that good luck carries over til next year! :thumbsup2

I'm not the best person to ask regarding DVC questions. Perhaps someone else in this thread is a little more knowledgeable than me? If not, definitely check out the DVC section of the DISboards!

Hi, my DW is planning a trip for Feb. No dates picked yet. She would like to go on a 7 day cruise(our 1st) and also go back to Orlando(2nd time as a family). Our DD is 9 right now, so we will have to pay full price for her next year.
For us the flight is a significant part of the journey. Last time our flight went Whitehorse-Vancouver-Chicago-Orlando. With waiting for connecting flights that is around a 16hour journey IF everything goes smooth...lol

We are unsure on where to stay this time. The last time we stayed at the radisson on the corner of i4 and 535....quiet corner...lol. But seriously I could stay there again and so could DW. Good location and nice rooms. We loved all the restarauts near the hotel.

This time I was checking out the Hilton @ DTD. Also considering onsite options like the swan/dolphin or the boardwalk maybe.

fyi it was -35 celcius this morning :)...lousy march weather!

Wow! That's quite a journey to WDW, but it will be quite worth it! And, YIKES that is cold!

Be sure to let us know when you've made progress in the planning process! :thumbsup2

I've just began planning our first ever trip to WDW for February 27th - 5th March 2012. Thinking of staying in Wilderness Lodge.

Went to Disneyland paris in september and first day back knew we had to go to WDW. Really excited, plan and look into trip everyday.:woohoo:

Same here, my friends and I are planning at WDW on February 25-march 3

Woohoo! :cool1: I took out the question marks from your info.

Great job on organizing this thread, very well done!

Haha thanks, but I don't want to take all the credit! I borrowed a bunch of formatting methods from other month's threads, and blended them together into one I liked. :thumbsup2

Welcome! :goodvibes Be sure to let us know when you decide on a resort!

Hello everyone! This will be my family's second trip to WDW! And we haven't been since 2001 (or was it 2000...) It was between this week, and spring break, because of school schedule (I will be a senior, and this will be a graduation present from my parents). I'm leaning towards the February break (which is the week after presidents day) because the crowds should be much lower than the spring break crowds. No solid details, but I will keep you updated :)

Welcome! We're the same age, I'll be a senior at the time of my trip too! :goodvibes

If your trying to avoid crowds February is definitely the better time to go :thumbsup2 , although the weather could be better during Spring Break.

Had the conversation with DH about when to go and decided that we enjoyed the Feb break. Living in Minnesota it was nice to get away from snow for a week.

So know I get to start doing some research:
Contemplating between POP and a Music which one would you recommend.

My family stayed at the POP this past December and loved it! It has such a fun atmosphere, and the Everything Pop quick service has some great food choices. :thumbsup2

We've never stayed at any of the All Stars, but from what I hear they are nice as well. The only downside I've heard is that the 3 All Stars share one bus system, while the POP operates on its own, which makes it a little more efficient.

Do you have any exact dates yet?
