The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Only 46 more days! I am buying my plane ticket on Thursday and hopefully looking at booking my road room the night before orientation! I am so excited to start working at Disney World!
 
Getting sooooo excited now! 38 more sleeps!! :banana:

Made my dog's reservation at the wonderful boarding place she always stays at, picked up a few little things like non-cotton socks and Bonine, dug through my travel-size supplies to see what I still need. Is it too early to just go sit at the airport and wait?? LOL :thumbsup2

My current dilemma is pins... I usually bring my whole pin bag, but I'm just thinking it's pretty unneccesary. I think I'll just bring my trading lanyard and some spares and leave all the ones I would never trade anyway at home. Any of y'all fellow pin nuts?



Then I've been just tweaking my itinerary... I think it's pretty set now, just have a few holes to still fill in but like to leave some gaps anyway. This is what I have:

Friday, 2/11: Arrive at 1:30, head to Pop to check in, meet up with Alli & fam (YAY!), head to MK to get some last pics of Toon Town before it's no more.

Saturday, 2/12: EMH at Studios (and get some goodies from Starring Rolls for later on!), relax/rest around Pop mid-day, head to Epcot.

Sunday, 2/13: Rope drop at Epcot, lunch at Yorkshire County Fish & Chips that I still taste in my dreams , back to Pop to rest. Have the dessert party at MK this night, then late EMH there until midnight. LOVE the evening EMH's at MK!!

Monday, 2/14: Sleep in, then head to DTD for lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express and the bacon-wrapped meatloaf my son has been drooling over. Shop for a while, then head to Epcot the rest of the day/evening but get out before Illuminations.

Tuesday, 2/15: EMH at Epcot. Possibly a get-together in the afternoon at Pop, if anyone else shows interest, then have a 6:15 ADR at 'Ohana. YUM, can't wait to go back there!! Rest of the evening is free, we'll probably just laze around Pop like we like to do, hopefully it will be cool enough to grab some hot chocolate and just go sit by the lake.

Wednesday, 2/16: Sleep in (maybe have a real breakfast at Pop for once, instead of just grabbing a muffin on the way out) then spend the day at MK.

Thursday, 2/17: Morning EMH at MK, then head to Epcot for the bulk of the day, then make it back to MK to see MSEP.

Friday, 2/18: Rope drop at MK, then the rest of the day is open to decide on the spot what we'd like to revisit.

Saturday, 2/19: Check out early and leave bags with luggage services, then go say our goodbyes to MK, a trip tradition. Head back to Pop to catch ME around 4-ish. (Booooo! :( )
 
I've been anxious to "do" something but since all my plans/ADRs are all set there's not a whole lot to do! So I booked our stroller and limo/airport ride, filled my cart on Garden Grocer so it will be ready to order, bought the kids personalized mickey ears and then I ordered DD 2 custom outfits and DS 1 custom shirt and a personalized shirt for each. Doh! I haven't made final payment on the trip yet, lol. :eek:

Do you know when Garden grocer charges you? Do they charge when they deliver your order or when you place your order?
 

Gina - to exciting! My DS is watching our dogs, since he decided he didnt want to go on the trip, saves us a ton of money not boarding the dogs.

I used GG last time, and am debating on if we will again. I think I might, as we have a different dining plan this time, and I will not use my one QS in the resort for breakfast (which is how we got all our energy drinks last time).

I can tweak no more! With the change from Ohana to Tusker House on the 15th, I am done tweaking. Now to just sit and wait..

I am going to order a Daisy and Minnie shirt for the trip. I guess I can go through all my travel size stuff this weekend and see what needs replacing.

I just want the next 38 days to pass, as on the 39th we will be there!!!
 
it says on their website you should order 48-72 hours before or something like that. The last few times I've gone on their site, there's a message saying they don't have any deliveries open for the following day so it seems like if you order 2+ or more day before you should be fine.
 
Just broke down and did my Garden Grocer order. Yes, you pay for it now. You have the option to pick your delivery date and time from.

As its just DH and I, I ordered energy drinks (we dont drink coffee), and breakfast bars (two types) and hand sanitizing wipes. My order was $47 and change, with the tip/delivery fee it was a total of $72 and change.

One less thing to think about. :rotfl:

Is ther a way to get hot water in the hotel rooms/close by for instant oatmeal? I suppose I can just use the coffee maker without coffee. I'm gonna pack as much food as I can (cereal bars, oatmeal, granola bars)
 
Lynne - its not so bad. :woohoo:

My DH drinks 2-3 energy drinks a day.. and rather than using our snack credits all in one quick moment, its really better that way. Cheaper than paying for them at the resort. ;)

I figure any breakfast bars left over come home and into my desk at work.
 
It was nice talking to you all but realistically we have to postpone our trip. We will be able to go in 2011 but going right now when I still have old bills I really need to address, well, I don't think we will be able to enjoy ourselves. I was REALLY bummed after the initial conversation/reality check this weekend but we've resolved to be more responsible financially and it starts here.

The kids are ok with it, obviously not thrilled. Since we will have extra time to save money (I do not want to go March-July so even though we could realistically be fine to go in May - we won't) we can do more and pinch pennies less. That really helped the kids adjust to the idea :thumbsup2

I know how you feel. Our trip that is coming up was delayed for 2 years due to things that kept coming up. However because of this delay we were able to save money and pay for the trip in advance . It is one reason why we are able to go for so long too.

i thought the same thing, lol! I have a TON of stuff in my cart and it's only up to about $80. Milk, fruit, cereal, bread, bagels, PB, water, snacks, etc. So you put in the tip now when you place the order? It's only $12 delivery fee right? So you added a $12 tip?

That includes the $12 delivery fee and a $12 tip, and $3.29 sales tax, so thats $27.29 right there. Lets see $24 in energy drinks (way to expensive, wish we drank coffee), $11 for my hand sanitizing wipes (100 count, the rest will come home) $8 for two boxes of the oatmeal breakfast cookies (my fav good for snacks too) and $4.50 for the oatmeal squares (DH's fav). All rounded numbers pretty much..

Considering the dining was "free", when I expected to pay for it originally, I think I think I came out ahead. :rotfl:
 
yep, we were getting the dining plan anyways and since it's now free, I feel ok about spending $100 for room food. I'm sure we'll be eating breakfast in the room on several days (family suite so kitchenette) and I'll be getting lots of snacks to bring to the parks so we won't spend $$ on overpriced park snacks (or waste our snack credits), b/c my kids like to snack every hour, lol.

Okay, I'm back under control now. It has been so cold here, and it's supposed to snow for pretty much the next week straight, that I'm not sure anymore whether I am looking forward to Disney more or the weather!!
 
Has anybody here used wegoshop? I was looking into them too.

We always use WeGoShop. I love them, especially how personal they are. They will also shop where ever you like. We like to shop Whole Foods, so that is pretty awesome to be able to get our groceries dropped off at our hotel room the hour we get there and we get the hard to find items we are used to. :thumbsup2
