we're not big travelers (by plane anyways) and the chances of us flying anywhere else in the next few years is slim to none.

Aaarrgh! WHY did I just look at current flight prices -- WHY? When I booked our airfare, flights were SO expensive to come home on a Saturday. So I shortened our trip by 1 night to come home Friday. It killed me to lose a day because the day we're losing was to be our "wild card/free time" day in the middle of the week. Now I just looked and there are flights on Saturday that are even CHEAPER than our Friday flights! And it's Jet Blue too which is what I had wanted (no baggage fees). Ugh. Airfare should be refundable.

This is exactly why we started oly flying Southwest....they let you change without a fee -

I didn't know that about Southwest. I don't think SW flies out of our airport anyways. At least they don't fly non-stop and I only do non-stop.

I'm doing a PP share with 3 other families. I agree, I didn't want to do it with too many people as it seems it would be confusing and a lot of work. Plus we're going later than you. Hope you find someone to share with!

After reading some of the previous posts I checked on my airline ressies. I booked in August and it looks like I could have purchased my tickets alittle cheaper now. We never really shopped around. We made the decision to go when the packages were released in August. It stinks that I could have saved money by waiting. I also could have saved money by not purchasing extra legroom seats, lagoon view and club level.
I've learned so much on these boards, some good some not so good. I'll just file this away look forward to February.

It's all just such a crap shoot, though... There never seems to be any rhyme or reason as to when fares go up or down (in non-holiday periods.) It stinks that some of your fares dropped, but they could have as easily gone way up. I booked ours months ago when I came across an unadvertised Delta sale (thank you, Airfare Watcher!) and got ours for $390RT total for the both of us. They went right back up after that and have stayed there. Just checked again now, and the exact same flights come to $668 total. You just never know!

I'm really sorry for those of you whose fares have dropped. I would definitely get credit for a future flight if you plan on going anywhere in the next year.

I'm sorry to hear about everyone and their airfare...I just booked mine today ( talk about last minute ) so I got a good deal from Southwest..we added another night in the beg. of our trip because it was cheaper to fly out a day earlier. ? So we booked one night at the Beach Club, and then we will be heading over to AKL! YEAY! I'll take an extra night in Disney!

We are looking forward to our first family WDW and DCL vacation starting in just 3 weeks. We are on the Dream for 4 nights and then AKL for 9 all starting Jan 30. Trying very hard not to freak out at the packing and planning.

DH and his parents have been to DL but not to WDW so hopefully it'll be a fun adventure for everyone. (No question the girls, 7 & 9 will have fun!)

I can't believe how fast the days are passing now

I am at a total loss as to what to pack this time- probably because I am waiting till the last minute to pack since it all depends on the weather

I bought my kids cute disney long sleeve shirts, dress, hoodies, etc. I have this feeling that it will be super warm and sunny, and I will have to go out a few days before the trip and buy them both new warm season clothes (they have both grown out of their summer things)

Ponchos- I bought the kids nice ones from target a few months ago (princess and star wars of course) and I am wondering if I should just buy DH and I the dollar store ones, or just buy the mickey ones when we get there if needed- thoughts?

I'd suggest Chef Mickey's, because it doesn't get more traditional than Mickey LOL
