As you can see we are a character dining kind of family!!!!

Wondering about the Wishes dessert party & the Wild Africa Trek...I know the dessert party hasn't been extended yet, and the trek doesn't start till Jan...but I'm just mulling those things over...

Wondering about the Wishes dessert party & the Wild Africa Trek...I know the dessert party hasn't been extended yet, and the trek doesn't start till Jan...but I'm just mulling those things over...

Are you sure about the dessert party? We have a reservation for February 7.

The dessert party was definitely extended, but there has been some confusion with the CMs.

We are also a character dining kinda family: CRT, CP and Chef Mickey's

I am getting SO excited for this trip. December is just flying by!

Okay, I miss you guys... I think I'm over all the DIS psychopaths and their nonsense -- I have complete faith that karma will bite them in the a$$. And I've *gasp* called Disney like 3 times this week (with valid questions/payment stuff ) and every time I just smiled. I hope those people had to hold a little longer just because I was calling; it would serve them right. They know where they can all go, and if they don't know how to get there I'm happy to give them directions.

I have our trip mostly paid off, just $500 left. Just need to pay that and buy insurance! Hopefully will find time to do that today.

I can't believe December is going by so fast either!! Everything has just been so nuts with band and football, I keep forgetting that we have that Christmas thing happening next week, lol. But it's such an exciting time right now. Our Pearland Oilers are 15-0 and are playing for the State Championship on Saturday. The whole town is just going nuts, in a good way. And of course since my DS is in the band, they're going too -- which means another crazy week of intense practice and another bus trip on Saturday. The game doesn't even start until 8pm, and is all the way up in Dallas, so they won't get back until close to 5am. And we have tickets to see Tron at 10, lol. I wish I had a whole day to just SLEEP. But it's all good... this is such an amazing, history-making (for our team) experience, and a real bonding experience. They'll remember these crazy exciting times forever.

Very uncharacteristic for trip-OCD me, I haven't even started on our packing list yet!! Nor collected any travel-size stuff. January is definitely going to be high-gear time for all that stuff!

But I am definitely the opposite of you all hoping for warm weather... Anything above 75 is going to make me just miserable!! Bring on the cold!

DH said I am not allowed to start packing till Mid January, as I am already driving him crazy with my lists of stuff I need to get..

Anyone doing Garden Grocier? We did that our last trip and almost never touched the stuff. So we might forgo that this trip.

Good for you!
The boards have provided such a wealth of good information; but sometimes just get me down too. Especially with crowd predictions/feedback for our upcoming trip on Pres week: "very, very" crowded, "INSANELY" crowded, "mobbed", "would never go back" - I get so depressed reading those threads that sometimes I have to take a break too and realize that I'll still be at the happiest place on earth - but just with a a "very insane mob" that said they would "never go back again".

Keep your chin up! Good luck at the game.

since this is our first trip, I guess I'll find out soon enough if we're a character dining-loving family as well. I have us booked for:

Friday a.m. - Tusker House breakfast
Friday p.m. - Chef Mickey's Dinner
Saturday - Akershus breakfast
Sunday - CRT dinner
Monday - H&V/Playhouse Disney Lunch
Tuesday - Crystal Palace breakfast

I also have to book our Universal character breakfast but they don't take ressies until 30 days prior. Imagine?!

Final payment day is coming up fast for us and we are still at $1500 owed. I get paid bi-weekly and always have a big chunk planned to put towards it, but of course with christmas here, it's mostly ended up going to christmas presents. Maybe I'll get a giant bonus that will take care of it. (ha!) It killed me to have to put our airfare on a credit card, I don't want to have to put any of the trip itself on a card too.

I ordered my maps last week. I hope they come in time so that I could wrap them for DS for Xmas!

I know 50's Primetime Cafe isnt too romantic of a place for Valentine's Day, but we couldnt find a LeCellier reservation for the entire trip at *any* time period (lunch or dinner)... I guess thats the downfall of not making reservations til 70 days beforehand.

Any suggestions/critiques on the dining, just let me know.

Also: on the disneyworld.disney.go.com site, I try bringing up my trip package using the 8 digit confirmation code, but it keeps saying it cant display my trip info... If we made reservations online, we dont need to tie those into our package/booked trip in any way, do we?

Also, I love cold weather. So bring it on!

No, you do not have to tie your ADR's into your resort reservation- each restaurant will ask you if you are on the dining plan so you can just tell them then

DH and I will be at The World from March 3 to 9th (after our Dream cruise, Feb 27th! Should this be in the March 2011 thread?!). We'll be at Port Orleans, Riverside!

We're bringing two friends who are noobs. It's going to be fun watching them fall in love with Disney like we did!

Dead Robot - good choice in tickers


So after saying I was *not* going to touch my dining, which I have not changed in about 3 months. I changed my dining.

I have not really read any great reviews for Chefs du France. For me, the main reason to eat there would be to see Remy. However, after reading several reviews, it seems that no one is really seated on time. Our ressies were for 4:30, as Remy came out at 5. My fear was that we would miss him, and that was the whole point of eating there. (I am not big on French food).

So after really thinking about it. I cancelled Chefs and we now have a ressie at Biergarten. We hit Oktoberfest every year and are at the local German Villiage here atleast once a month (due to the dachshund races, which our dogs compete in). DH always loves a good braut and beer. I just felt this was a better choice for us.

Anyone prefer Chefs over Biergarten? If so why?

However, I will *not* change my ressies again, for this trip. If all goes to plan (crossing fingers), we should be able to get back to FL for the Food and Wine Festival, since they cancelled ours due to to much construction going on at DCA.

Kristi ~ I haven't read much (or anything) good about Chef's, especially in the past few years. I think Biergarten is a great choice -- I love that place! I thought the food was yummy, and it's such a fun place. It's impossible to frown while listening to oompah music.

I am very happy to say that as of 10 minutes ago, trip insurance is bought and the trip itself is officially paid off! Love that feeling!

Just checking in! Not much longer till we hit the world! Once Christmas is over, the time will fly by!! My DS is so excited, and I know I will cry when I see him marching down Main Street!!
