The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

We are heading down Feb 3 for 9 days!!! Our longest trip yet. Sooo excited I could skip Christmas. Lol. But really..........I could.:goodvibes

Maybe we will check in at the same time DisneyFirstTimer10. We will be at POP as well!!

Thanks for the heads up on the dessert party! We're booked for Feb 16th!!:cool1: Can't wait!

Gina I knew you couldn't stay away. I don't follow all the threads anymore, mostly just this one.

I don't plan on starting to pack until a few days before. If I start too soon, I'll forget stuff since there is a lot of stuff that needs to be packed at the last minute.

We should be getting our first round of WDW mail soon, isn't it usually 30-45 days out?

Being paid in full is an awesome feeling. :yay: I also have a stash of US$$ in a US bank account that I put away when the CAD$ was high. This will be our spending money :)

I ordered a custom t-shirt for DD like this (but that's not her name) from Etsy and I can't wait to get it!

As for the weather, I don't want super hot either, but PLEASE at least 68!!

Lynne - cute shirt. My two little girls have red and white polka dot skirts and I am thinking of getting them something like that to wear with it.

I just don't have xtra $$ to put towards disney this month so all my pre-trip purchases will wait until January. Since we are eating breakfast in our hotel room almost every day, packing easy lunches or coming "home" midday for lunch breaks most days I have a lot of food shopping to do. We drive down so the cooler space we fill with food will give us room for some souvenirs on the ride home.

Lynne, that shirt is absolutely adorable!! I want one for myself! :thumbsup2

WOO HOO - coming off a great week at Disney and my daughter and I are planning on being back there Feb. 25-28 for a mother-daughter trip (and to run the Princess Half)!
We will be staying with a friend about 7 miles from the parks!

WAHOO! Paid In Full today- so excited for the big reveal to the kids on christmas morning :)

I would be bouncing off the walls -- I don't know how you've kept the secret for so long!!! Are you going to film their reaction??

my kids know we are going to Disney for their xmas present. I couldnt hold it in :lmao:
Trying to make the rest of xmas about WDW. Breadfast to travel supplies.

had to share ( I will need to figure out how to post a picture at home)

We had a holidy baking contest here at work today(pumpkin bread took first )

I go to grab a piece of fudge, and before I pop it into my mouth, i notice there is a mickey in my fudge!

Now, i cant bring myself to eat the piece of fudge. :rotfl:

Hey guys I need a little Pixie Dust over here.........

I will start from the beginning, best place to start I guess. My DH and I had a hard year this year, after 25 years we were going to split up and I was ready to leave and move out, everything was in place but I sat back and looked at everything I was going to loose and sat down and spoke with Norm and we both found out that we have been missing the same things and just plain forgot what we meant to eachother. We have been working on things and long story short things are better then they have been in years and I'm not going anywhere.

He asked if we could go to Disney just the two of us, well let me tell you for him to ask me that I knew he was trying very hard, Disney isn't his favourite place and I just returned in November (2009) so for him to say lets go was a big thing, sort of like a Disney Bandage I guess, Disney will help for sure!!!

So the next part here is where I need some pixie dust. See my husband has a charge on his record from back in the late 80's. He is a long haul truck driver and never knew he needed a waiver to enter the US. Back when 911 occurred they pulled him in at the Detroit Boarder. They turned him back to Canada and told him he need a waiver to enter. He applied for one and received a 5 year waiver, in the mean time he let it lapse because he was mostly running in Canada here and didn't need to enter the states, and never went to Disney with myself and our Daughter so never needed it. Well we had to apply to homeland security to receive his waiver to enter the US again, we applied back in the summer. Well here we are 45 days out before we go and I all but sit at the mail box waiting. I sent an email to Homeland Security back on November 30 and the reply I received was it was in there system and they would send it out to us as soon as possible.

Fingers crossed and prayers needed please, we really need this time and want to get away. If worse comes to worse we will just rebook, he said no mater what we will go but right now my fate rest in the department of homeland security.

I'm assuming they will be on Christmas holidays and things will slow down for a week or two. But I have the whole month of Jan to hope and pray things work out. Everyone tells me it will be alright and it will come..........

but I will continue to sit here and wait and hope it will come :worship:

Lil Bo Peep - My fingers are crossed for you. I am so happy that you and DH decided to reflect and work on it

I hope your papers come very soon and you can stop having to worry about it!!

I have been reading all about the stomach bug going around wdw. Yuck. Hope that doesn't last long

We are back from our December trip--had a great time despite the record cold temps. Now I'm starting to look forward to our girls' only trip in Feb with my BFF her DD and my DD. We've been dreaming of doing this for a couple of years.

I had scored an ADR at CRT, but DD really didn't want to go and I've learned that if she really doesn't want to be there, NO ONE :rolleyes1 will enjoy it....so instead she wanted to eat with Mary Poppins. So yesterday I (gulp) cancelled my CRT reservation and booked for breakfast at 1900 Park Faire. It will be fun. I'm just hoping the weather doesn't turn crazy like last year and we end up stuck in 5 feet of snow again! :scared1:

Lil Bo Peep--good for you deciding to work it out. DH and I weren't quite at that point but we also had some very rocky times but with support and help, we are in a better place now than ever. I hope your papers will come soon so you can relax and not worry about it!

Thanks Ladies, I hope so too. I will let you know when they arrive. Norm hasn't been to Disney since our trip in 2000 so he seems to be getting excited about it, it will be the first time for him staying on property so it will be different for him. So looking forward to it. :goodvibes

Lil Bo Peep ~ Big time pixie dust hopes for you!! pixiedust: I hope those papers come sooner rather than later, and you and hubby can get on with the fun and anticipation of planning!

MamaJessie ~ I've been reading that too, and cringing. I can't imagine a more horrid way to spend a vacation. But it's a November-March sort of thing every single year, and we fear it ever Feb. WDW trip or cruise. So far, only got it once, several years ago, the last day of a cruise. All any of us can do is keep scrubbing our hands, and I spray down everything in the resort room with Lysol before DS and I touch anything. We also try not to touch rails and whatnot if at all possible. Otherwise, there's just not much to do except hope for the best! Here's to all of us staying germ-free for our trips!!

PoppyGirl ~ It has been years since we've been to 1900 Park Faire, but we really enjoyed it a bunch when we went there. The interaction between DS and the Mad Hatter was priceless!! And there were more food choices than with CRT. Personally, I think CRT is overrated, except for the view through the pretty stained glass windows... but that's an expensive view. I think you'll be happy with your choice!

Kristi ~ You have to post a pic of that fudge!! And I wouldn't eat it either. :)

Did y'all see that Wishes Dessert Party ressies can be made online now?? About time! It looks like our date (13th) is sold out, but it showed availability for Valentine's Day. Weird to me!
