1. Where are you and your family traveling from?

Amesbury, Mass

2. How long will your trip to Disneyland Resort take? 6 hours

3. Is this your first trip to Disneyland Resort?

I spent one day at DL with my dad and brother in 1979. Rest of the family has not been. Will be like the first time for all of us.

4. Who are you traveling / vacationing with this time?

Me, DH, Nate-16, Ben-13

5. Are you and your family celebrating a special occasion?

Not really

Bob- just want to thank you for this excellent thread and all of your hard work! I haven't had much time to spend here, or even start (over)planning our vacation yet, but I am really impressed with all of the info you have put together to help me and our fellow July travelers.

I searched this thread for info about the Matterhorn- as of the April messages, it looks like the attraction rehab was rescheduled and it will be open for July. I hope that is true, although on the July park hours on the DL website (which of course is buggy) still has it listed as closed.

What is the official scoop?

I will definitely be on the lookout for you and Midori in the parks! We will be hopping between the two parks each day. The only thing we know for sure is that we will be starting at DL upon arrival on Sat July 12, then we will be starting at the early morning park each of the next 3 days.

No dining plans yet, but I really appreciate the link to menus you have at the beginning of this thread!

Well, I'm late to the party, but DD12 and I will be arriving at DLR July 9th for six days of fun! We are traveling from Hawkins, TX - small east Texas town. Also, we probably have the longest travel time of the group as we are taking Amtrak from here to Anaheim. A total of 46 hours! This will be my 5th trip and DD's 4th. No special occasion other than some fun mother daughter time while dad stays home working. Looking forward to a great trip!

If you decide to do a Trip report, Please talk about Amtrak. I've rode in Sleeper class from Orlando. It's an awesome experience. Are you planning to in a Sleeper or coach?

/
We are doing the sleeper car for that length. Have been to Chicago a couple of time and just did coach. It was manageable but only 21 hours for that trip. I am looking forward to seeing part of the US that I've never really seen. We are flying home though since we will probably have a few more items to carry! Flying Southwest from John Wayne to Dallas Love.

We planned late, so ended up booking at the Clarion, arriving July 9 and leaving July 15. It has mixed reviews, but I am sure it will meet our needs. We don't have any dining plans other than eat when we feel like it! We do have a grayline tour booked for Saturday, the 12th. Going to LA/Hollywood and Santa Monica. We are also planning to do the Discover the Magic tour, probably on Friday. Really just playing it by ear this trip.

What is the official scoop?
The July Entertainment Schedule on the DL website only shows Nemo as being closed from 4 July onwards: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendar/daily/#/default/2014/07/06 Nor does it say anything on the Matterhorn page: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/disneyland/matterhorn-bobsleds/
I guess that's as "official" as we can get. I'm hoping that's right! ::yes:: And that it stays that way!

Hi neighbor!!!!!

Un-Confirmed Tip Of The Day

Just received a tip from a local Californian, waiting on a confirmation.. if you are staying close to the Toy Story Parking Lot... You can walk to the staging area and take the shuttle to and from the parks and save your feet, ART or Cab fees...

11:40 PM Central Time - This is confirmed..

I've been crying and I feel Like crying more... My DD Graduated 8th grade and now going into High School this fall.

Thanks! Me, too!

This is the link that was concerning me. This is from a DIS page, and there are some other issues, too, like how the extra magic morning is listed some days (3 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm)
